• Cherylee (6/5): - The lake is not really a lake very small. The bed was very uncomfortable. No signage of where to check in went to the restaurant and she had the paperwork there had us fill it out and gave us a key. No directions of where to go found it. The restaurant did not open until 12"00 the next day after check out and it is out of town about 10-15 minutes so no breakfast until we checked out.
• Avro (2/5): - I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the check-in process. We were stuck on the highway due to an accident and called their office at 9:30 PM, leaving a voicemail to inform that we would be 10 minutes late. We never received a response. Upon arriving at 10:10 PM, 10 minutes past the check-in time, no one was on-site, and our repeated calls went unanswered. No access was provided and there was no cancellation so they charged the full amount. After waiting for an hour, we were forced to book a motel 30 minutes away. This was a horrible experience and definitely won't recommend this place.

The room coffee machine did not work and although said they would replace it, they didn’t. We had pipe water hammer every so often, suspect it was from the heating system, but no support from staff to look into it, the noise would continue to wake us up at night.

The room was clean and comfortable. The restaurant on site had great dining and all the staff was friendly and very helpful.

• Lambert (10/5): Cozy retreat in nature - We really enjoyed our stay here. The room was exactly as advertised and we enjoyed the peace and quiet of this retreat near the mountains. The only thing we missed in the room was a microwave which would have been a welcome addition to the amenities. All in all though it was a great stay!

The service was excellent, the atmosphere was amazing and the food was absolutely amazing! We had the prime rib special. Highly recommended!!

Drinks and food were amazing and yes stuffed in some dessert. Definitely worth the drive. Thursday is the brisket deal and omg it was sooooo good. The restaurant is quiet and really pretty. The fireplace was going giving it a beautiful ambience. I wish I had taken some pictures of the space and food.

• 183marilynd (10/5): Cooking class and Sunday Brunch - A few weeks ago my husband participated in a cooking class with the chef. It was well organized, the chef was very knowledgeable and made the class suitable for all levels of cooking experience. The food that was made by the participants was top notch and the chef made it fun. Today we enjoyed a Sunday brunch. Food was amazing and service was great. We got served right away , food was hot and fresh. Highly recommend!

• MaxBet007 (4/5): Had the potential to be a great stay but was not. - Stayed in motel rm.7 for our 25th wedding anniversary. Had dinner reservation for 6pm. On arrival discovered that there is no front desk. Checkin is at the restaurant. The room itself was just ok. No a/c and it was 29 celcius outside so we knew we were in for a warm night. Went to the "Kitchen" for 6pm and were seated right away and then forgotten about. 20 minutes before our server took our drink order and another 15 minutes to get our Sangria which had not fruit or berries in it. It was not sangria, tasted like lemonade. The server apologized that they were out of berries but then why did she serve it? Dinner took an hour and although the food was delicious it took far too long. We don't blame the lone waitress, she was almost running between tables but she was forced to ignore us until she got caught up. All glassware had a thick film on it. I would have been embarrassed to serve drinks in it. We would not stay at the motel again as our TV had been disconnected and there was no one around to help. We might give the restaurant another try as the food was that good.

• H3296LTwendyw (10/5): A peaceful getaway - We just returned from a two day getaway at Schott’s Lake to meet with family. It was our first visit and we thoroughly enjoyed it. It was such a quiet and peaceful place. We stayed in the motel. The rooms were clean, comfy and had all that we needed. We especially enjoyed sitting outside our rooms on the spacious veranda to visit and spend time together. We wandered the grounds admiring the scenery and taking photos and were lucky enough to get a reservation at their gourmet restaurant for supper. The food was amazing. All six of us ordered different meals and all of them were delicious. I chose the Arctic char. It was amazing! Hats off to the chef. I loved it! I would definately recommend this place to those who are seeking peace, solitude and amazing gourmet meals.

• brucenY8230HJ (10/5): Worth The Drive from Calgary - We went for lunch to The Kitchen. We were able to sit outside on the patio, with a lovely view of the lake. No bugs. It was pleasant. I had an Elk Burger and my wife had a BLT. Both were delicious but my burger was Top Notch, one of the best I’ve had in a long time. Worth the drive.
• karmand2020 (8/5): Great spot for Whatever youy are looking for! - We Booked for a last minute weekend RV camping trip camping trip. At this time of year, it is challenging to find a weekend camp spot, but the folks at Schott's lake were veruy accommodating., and Reasonably priced at $45/night for 30amp power and water hookups. Only a short drive (about 10 minutes) to the town of Sundre for groceries and supplies. This recently developed Campground is pretty well appointed with Large, roomy spots, spread decently apart, so we did not feel like we were camping with the units next to us. Each spot also offers a Large Pic'Nic table (seats 8+ people) and a well built fire pit with a cooking grill attached. (a Fire Ban was in place, so no wood fires, but we were allowed our propane powered 'fire pit'). Vault toilets are located in many convenient spots throughout the park, and are checked, cleaned and restocked several timed a day. Modern, well equpipped and PRIVATE Shower rooms in the main building are 'toonie' operated, but run for more than long enough. I shut the water off before time ran out, even after washing my long, thick hair. Most spots have water/Power (30amp or 50 amp) hookups. No Septic hookups, but 3 wide, well maintained lanes for 'Sani-Dumping' on site are free for registered campers to use. Many trees were removed in the construction of the park, so bring your own source of shade! (I trust that there are future plans to plant in the green spaces between the campspots for shade and increased privacy...). There are still many trees and shrubs separating the different "loops" of the park, so the scenery is nice. And there are beautiful 'walking trails' through the forested areas around the Spring Fed 'Schott's Lake (More of a pond, No swimming or boating allowed). The gourmet Resturaunt on site provides excellent service and great food, although it is a bit pricey. There are also a couple of cabins and about 10 motel rooms available for bookings. Definitely will visit again!

Bedding for pull out couch was inside the couch and not adequate for the cool evening - there were no extra blankets or pillows and staff had gone for the evening. Staff was very friendly, yet it was confusing as to where a person would check in or deliver paperwork from your stay. The kitchen is the main lodge on the lake and the food was great. I would stay here again.

From the moment we drove onto the tranquil property, until the moment we left we felt so well taken care of we did not want to leave. Mike, Tammy were so kind and helpful, the maintenance/security man even shoveled a path to a fire pit so we could enjoy a fire! The Kitchen served me up the best lobster eggs benedict I have ever had! I can not wait to return to this beauty!

• billhP950VO (6/5): Nice motel,beautiful setting,disappointing food. - We stayed in the motel last night…very clean,bed on the soft side.Staff were awesome about supplying a hair blow dryer and a kettle for me to make tea( which they supplied).Beautiful setting. We ate at the Kitchen there…and were EXTREMELY disappointed. 3 course meal. The salad with saskatoon dressing was delicious. We asked for medium rare prime rib….we got “well done”,slathered in glutinous gravy. The people at the next table complained…the chef came out…offered a new slice…but it would still be slathered in that gravy. Dessert was fair…brownies with a bit of ice cream.I am surprised by the rave reviews. There were only 2 other couples there when we were there. I must say server Tammy was excellent!
• Saida (10/5): - We came with family booking both the motel and lakeside cottage for this long weekend and we had a fantastic time! The cabin was adorable and the picnic table and fire pit area over looks the lake. The porch area is much larger then it seems. Water was refilled the next day for us and wood was delivered right beside our fire pit which was a plus! The outhouse was clean, only steps away from the front entrance. Our family who were staying in the motel also had great things to say about their room and the property in general. The restaurant is a very short walk away from both the cabins and the motel, we didn’t have time to eat there but the menu we were given looked great! It also looks like they are adding in some other activities for guests to enjoy in the future. It is gated at night with security which made it feel safer. We got lucky on our first night and got to see the northern lights over the lake which was just beautiful! Would definitely come back here!
• carolwZ9613NG (8/5): Enjoyed our stay - We were in the RV area. Well kept and nicely laid out. Parking pads some of the larger we've seen so there was plenty of room on the site for the trailer and truck with plenty left over for us to hang out. Dump stations on site were clean and well maintained, although the elbow didn't fit properly. Pit toilets were fairly clean. We did go to the restaurant one evening and enjoyed the elk burger, wait staff were pleasant and efficient. The only downside for is was the lack of trees between sites, although another camper said they'd heard from maintenance that they planned to plant, they were just getting the grass established first. Overall, an enjoyable stay.
• Linda (10/5): - This is a quiet oasis that offers wonderful evening dining (noon to 9pm) The room was very comfortable and the owner provides both a small heater and a fan if the room is a bit warm or cool. the route direct from Sundre is recommended as I ended up being sent on a roundabout routing by Google and the road was freshly gravelled. The direct route is a very good highway. I would definately return, for the view over the small pond with the ducks, the quiet and the food.

The outdoor spaces showcase beautiful new decking, glass railing to take in the surroundings, ample seating, beautiful flowers. The main building has a log cabin feel with views of the lake from inside and large dining deck outside. There is security to enter the property. The entire grounds look meticulously maintained. Highly recommend.

• Verified traveler (8/5): - They only have staff at the lake limited hours. We missed check in, but we really appreciated someone stayed late to let us in. When we got into the rooms, there was no toilet paper, the floors were very dirty and the coffee maker did not work. The rest of the room was clean. Beautiful location and staff were exceptional. Didn’t get a chance to try the food but we heard there was an excellent chef on site. Wish we could have spent more time there. Would like to come back. If staff would have been on site after we checked in, I’m sure they would have resolved our issues.

The accommodations were exactly as described, the staff were friendly and helpful, the food was amazing and the scenery and ambiance was everything we hoped for. We definitely recommend Schotts Lake for anyone hosting an event. Fabulous.

Most of our group had RV’s however some didn’t si having the motel was great yo accommodate them. A great place to celebrate with friend’s & family. We saw a momma moose with twin calves, deer, ducks & duckings on the lake, muskrat.
• beachfun10 (8/5): Amazing beautiful scenery, food not so much - We had heard amazing things regarding this resort and their prime dinner special. The scenery is beautiful, the lodge, hotels etc are lovely. Excellent friendly staff. I unfortunately must say the prime rib dinner was very disappointing. There was no taste , gravey was bland, veggies under cooked , meat rubbery. The Yorkshire pudding was the only decent part of the meal. Perhaps will give it another try but will order a different dish from the menu.

• briancN6313NA (8/5): Executive - Retired Camping - No playgrounds - Over all nice Campsite. Drawback, not children oriented, no playgrounds. This campsite is more the feel for retired people and executives. Security vehicles, guard office, photo ID, what? Would of been nice for July long weekend to see the grass cut. The overall "highend" campground feel was there, but not followed through in the details. Overall rating would be a 6 out of 10. Suggestions: Kids playground, tone down the security, can scare some people away. Cut grass, and add a hose ability at sani dump so can be attached for black water flush on RV's that have it.

• L9839FHrickn (10/5): Great Getaway - The staff were the greatest. We stayed in the Motel and enjoyed the chairs on the patio out front of our room. It was great fun watching the kids enjoy riding their bikes on the little hill. So nice to see kids entertaining themselves rather than playing video games. (Which they could be as the WiFi was excellent.). Loved the Kitchen restaurant. Room was clean and well equipped. Plan to return.
• Rick (8/5): - The Kitchen restaurant is wonderful and the room we had was quite nice. Very good for the price. While the property is secluded with services a bit of a drive away, that was an advantage for us. Loved it and will go back.

The main building, the strip of motel rooms and the camping grounds in general were all new, and well maintained. They share a cohesive image and style. The cabin was definitely rustic which is fine but some small upgrades would make it fit in with the rest of the property. In my opinion, changing the interior paint from orange to white would make it feel more welcoming when you first open the door to the cabin. Updating the interior and exterior furniture so it fits the styling of the rest of the property and investing in more comfortable/ bigger beds. There were many dead flies, cobwebs and we found mouse droppings on the floor of the cabin. Definitely doesnt make you want to take your shoes off. The cabin was in a private area which was really nice. The main building is wonderful and has a great view of the small lake. The shower facilities were great also but we didnt know until we went to have a shower that they cost $2. There was nothing in the welcome package or signage posted about the cost of the shower and how long of a shower you get with a toonie. Honestly this review is more about the specific cabin we rented, which i think is an opportunity for schotts lake resort. We had a wonderful time with our friends here and will definitely be back... but we will rent a room in the motel.

• JaniceL1844 (4/5): One night was enough ! - While the area is very serene and peaceful, the lake is not what I would call a lake - its a slough. Accomodations were so/so. As soon as we entered our room (in the motel portion), we were greeted with a very stale or musty smell. Coffee machine and complimentary coffee in the room, but the coffee maker was dusty and the water capsule had white flakes floating around in it - so sadly we did not enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning. And SO MANY RULES. Signage for no bikes (pedal bikes, not motor), NO open alcohol outside - what ???? We were in the motel which had 2 nice but dusty lawn chairs right outside the door but you were not allowed to sit out there with a beer or glass of wine. Nice firepit area - but big sign saying firepit closed. Not much to do here other than sleep - at least bed was comfortable. No A/C but did have a fan in the room which kept it decent for sleeping. Would definitely not return.

• Gingasaninja (8/5): Beautiful location, excellent restaurant food. - Location is beautiful, hosts were very friendly and helpful. Grocery box a useful service. Restaurant food was excellent and wait staff were nice if a little overwhelmed. Waited repeatedly for menus, had to ask twice and after waiting over twenty minutes for desert we ordered we were then told they were sold out.
• 435krystaa (10/5): Enjoyable for sure :) - We really were impressed with our stay here for our 1 year anniversary. Family suggested it to us and it was a great choice . The motel room was very clean and quaint. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed the food we had at the restaurant, except for one of the dishes, but my husband had ordered the Prime rib special so I ended up just sharing his and it made up for my dish. The elk spring rolls are a must! Will definitely come back.
• Erin (8/5): - What a beautiful stay. We arrived mid week and so it was very quiet. We stayed at the motel - updated rooms. My only issue is that it is warm as there is no AC. I’d suggest bringing a fan and I’d suggest to the resort to supply fans in each room. We ate at the restaurant and yummmm. We ordered the charcuterie board (the homemade Saskatoon spread and red pepper jelly are so delicious), the elk burger (so juicy and such great flavors) with fries (almost certain these are made in house they were fresh tasting), the chicken pot pie, and the kids grilled cheese (on thick yummy bread). I would definitely come back again to stay here and I will be recommending to my family and friends for stay and dinner.
• Ronald (10/5): - Beautiful property in a secluded setting. Rooms are cozy and well equipped. I also appreciated the ability to plug in my vehicle during the cold weather.
• heatheraX8999EN (10/5): A Night of Relaxation and Fun with Friends - We went to Schott's Lake Conference and Resort for one night to celebrate a friend's birthday. The accommodations were clean and very comfortable, room sizes in the motel were generous, and we had a great time visiting. Dinner at the Lodge was amazing. The restaurant was quite full, and there was an event going on downstairs as well. Despite how busy it was, we were attended to quickly, food came out in a timely fashion, and the Servers did an awesome job! Polite, professional, and refreshing. Recommend to anyone who wants a nice quiet retreat, or great visit with family/friends.
• Kevin (10/5): Relaxing place to stay - Spacious comfortable rooms. Very clean! Great restaurant onsite! Places to hike on site and nearby.
• Kelleen (6/5): - The cabin was very loud at night, and we were not close to anyone else. Was extremely hot in there, and unless we had the fan going full it was unbearable. The restaurant there was wonderful and had amazing food. We were at the closest cabin to the main hall but still had zero wifi connection.
• Betty (8/5): - Great space, amazing food friendly staff. More in formation regarding the motel is needed. The handout is related to camping. No info in rooms regarding tv operation, check out, or getting a bag of ice.
