Guest Reviews

- Anna (6/5): For people in good health - 200 steps down from main street. - Direct access to the sea, nice pool, clean rooms.
Easy accessible diving spots. If you want to dive, better pre-book. We were a group of 7. After morning dive we wanted to do the night dive and I told the staff that I’ll come in the afternoon and confirm number of divers - unfortunately the dive store was shut down. We wanted to dive next day instead - not possible too. Kitchen run out of fresh fruits for juices and fish.

- Daniel (7/5): Great for snorkelling /diving, but a bit more expensive than expected for mediocre food and service. - Location, location, location. The views from the rooms are great. The views toward the shore from the water are great. The coral bay around the hotel is fantastic - I swam across a huge hawksbill turtle casually feeding on soft coral and seaweed on my first snorkel and followed it for half an hour till it went into deeper water. The place is quiet (way below road) and no loud music. There are lots of trees, and nice birds flying around. Nearby hotels and properties are mostly high end and attractive. There's free snorkel equipment and kayaks to use - the diving is amazing but if you're not an avid diver, the snorkelling, swimming and kayaking is enough to keep you enthralled while others go diving during the day. The weather was good while we were there, but snorkelling and diving can be done in cloudy or rainy weather (limited in strong wind). There's a good pool table and darts in a games room if you get bored. Tuktuks to nearby hotels and restaurants cost around 300 pesos - we only the Altrov'e Italian, which had really good pizza and squid ink risotto. The restaurant is very average / basic, and you have to wait a long time for food if slightly busy. My friend was veggie, but they brought a meat dish instead of the vegetable version, despite repeating the order back to us, then brought the same thing back with the meat picked out of it. Very greasy.
The patio doors wouldn't close completely in the room, which was an issue for mosquitoes. The AC is old and noisy. The tv works but the sound is fuzzy and low, so no good for watching movies. The beds are comfy though and nice pillows. The coffee was sachets of some sweet sickly measures of undrinkable stuff. Teabags but no creamer or sugar. Coffee at the restaurant is okay. Breakfast was fine.
I booked through Booking.com and reserved diving trips for both days, which was confirmed by "reservations". On arrival, they said they had no record of the diving reservations and the boats were full. After much haggling and waiting several hours, they found a dive master from another resort with another boat, who came the following day in the afternoon for two short dives just near the hotel. The diving was good, but we had hoped to go offshore to famous sites. We just sucked it up, but it would have been nice if they had offered some extras or discounts rather than them saying it wasn't their fault and charging full price and extra for full equipment.
All prices for food, drinks and even the diving are subject to additional VAT and service charge (yes, even for the diving!), which is added at check-out, so expect to pay an additional 20+ percent on top of what is quoted when you order stuff.
At check-out, you have to have your ticket for the beach towels or pay extra, and they check the room before you can leave. The pool is very small and was busy with kids when we were there, and there is nowhere else to relax. The shore is rocky with hawkers and begging kids.
- Petya (8/5): Very kind and polite stuff, good food, decent rooms. Good value for money for short Anilao trip - Food, staff, amenities, view The rooms were a little bit old, the bathroom smelled

- SUSAN (8/5): Had a great mini vacation with my husband. Very relaxing atmosphere. - best sunset experienced. great views n good food. Excellent staff n great accommodation with a great view of the ocean. long stairs to reach the lobby.
- Peter (9/5): Great hotel for divers, and 2-3 hours from Manila. - Great location on the waterfront. Not much outside of the hotel area, but the hotel facilities made up for it.
- Martin (5/5): A nicely presented resort that matches its photos, but is let down by overpriced and limited food - We chose the resort based on the photos on Booking and were not disappointed. A big plus was the reliable Wi-Fi with a single network covering the entire resort, which is quite unique in the Philippines and essential here, as there is no mobile signal. The resort also seems popular with Filipino guests, which gives it a lively local atmosphere. There was no hot water in the shower. The resort was noisy throughout the day and night, with guests often making loud calls from balconies or shared areas, which reduced the sense of relaxation.
The selection for non-meat eaters was very limited, and during our stay, roughly half of the menu was unavailable due to missing ingredients. No vegetables were offered at all. As a result, we ordered a simple custom-made pasta with tomato sauce on both days, which was bland and significantly overpriced. At 970 PHP per portion, the price did not reflect the quality.
- Edna (9/5): Turtles!!!! - The location. Its rights next to a sanctuary, or a marine reserve. The corals are beautiful. Plenty of fish and the turtles were amazing to watch.
The staff are all friendly and accommodating. The chef recommended local food which we happily ordered and enjoyed.
Thank you all. We will be back. Maybe the menu could have more vegetables.
But if your staying long, you can request too.
- Chantal (10/5): Beautiful spot for snorkeling and relaxation - Welcoming staff
Serene surroundings
Sea life was bountiful Limited menu, understandably due to location
A lot of steps to get down to the resort, a bit difficult for the elderly or in the heat, but lovely when you're down so worth it!
Weekends are a bit busy, but during the week was very tranquil
Long drive from manilla, ensure you have a reputable driver to take you back, ours was via a 5*hotel in manilla and failed to show up to get us to the airport! So leave time for back up transport

- XUONG VI (8/5): - The room is spacious, clean, and well-kept, with a nice view. Since we arrived after dark, we haven’t seen the ocean yet, but based on other hotels we’ve visited in this area, I’m sure the sunrise and sunset views will be amazing.
Our first impression of the place is really positive, the facilities look good and the atmosphere is relaxing. The only thing to keep in mind is the stairs leading up to the hotel. There are around 200 steps, so it’s a bit of a challenge. It’s manageable for younger guests, but it might be tiring for older people.
Overall, everything else has been great so far
- Ewa (10/5): -
- Myra (9/5): It's a lovely place to unwind, but be prepared for a bit of a climb! - My family recently stayed at this beautiful resort and was truly impressed by its charm. The surroundings are stunning, the rooms are well-maintained to ensure a pleasant experience. It's a perfect getaway for those seeking relaxation and scenic views. One aspect that guests should be aware of is the 250 steps throughout the property. While they add a certain rustic charm and offer great exercise, they can be quite inconvenient—especially for older guests, families with young children, or anyone with mobility concerns. It would be helpful if the resort could consider additional accessibility options like shuttles or ramps in the future.
- Laura (8/5): -
- Jeremy Elwood (10/5): This is nature at its best. The hotels food was perfectly prepared and the junior suite I stayed in was excellent! Loved - Everything was more amazing than any of the reviews. The coral 🪸 reef was the best I have dived in. So lucky to have found this place! Nothing
- Øystein (9/5): -
- Charles (10/5): A very nice place to stay and I would highly recommend it - It was very comfortable, lovely facilities and incredibly helpful and friendly staff. The view from the rooms are all amazing and the food is good quality. You can borrow a snorkel for free with your room and they arranged an island hopping boat tour for us so we could go snorkelling.
- Hanno (8/5): The perfect easy going getaway for a medium-long stay - Alles is zeer goed meegevallen – perfect om tot rust te komen.
- Israel (7/5): the view was splendin. the beach was amazing. - i like the fact that i was able to scuba dive for the first time and its was just a few dips away from the shore. although it was dully informed that there was more than 200 steps going to the reception area from the parking, we are not infromed that we would have to climb back to our room half way up. it would have been really helpful if the recemption were upstairs in parking lot. and also, there were no fridge in the rooms that could have been more easier for the guest to have accesible cold water after the long climb to their room from the beach.

- Millie (9/5): Superb - I booked the stay for my parents, to celebrate my dad’s birthday and it was great. My parents were happy. The staff was very accomodating and nice, infact I ask them to help me surprise my dad for his birthday and they make it possible. Thank you very much to the staff lot of stairs
- Maximino (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly and helpful staff
Most meals ordered were good
Ample parking space
Clean and comfortable rooms
Great view at the restaurant
Senior citizen friendly stairs with a couple of benches to rest on from the parking area down to the reception area Some stairs, specifically the older ones which are steeper than the main stairs, may need additional railing
- Abiegale (9/5): Wonderful. Will definitely come back. - The view. The staff. The ambiance. Pet friendly The 250 steps stairs 😅
- Randall (9/5): Loved the snorkeling just in front of the resort. Lots of colorful fish, turtles and coral. - Good options, well prepared. We stumbled on the stairs a bit.
- Martinus (8/5): Very good -
- Martinus (8/5): Very good -
- Jesse (8/5): Nice place - Diving just 10m away and its butyfull coral and fisches. Snorkeling is definitely a must. (Thay got equipment)
Beautiful sunsets.
- Karina (5/5): Great room and view very poor food, service and lacks atmosphere. - The room was spacious and the view. The service was very average. Nice staff but had no hospitality training. We were served raw chicken, fish and egg on 3 separate occasions and the plates were never cleared away and left there until we left our table. The staff didn't speak very good english compared to all the other places we stayed in the Philippines and the staff were not very attentive. Diving was great thanks to a freelance dive master who works for multiple resorts however the dive shop at Altamare was very basic and lacked information. Wouldn't recommend staying here if you are going on a dive trip which is a shame as many of the dive sites are right out the front of Altamare.
- Chuaquico (8/5): The Memoirs vacation. - The Sea view and the ambiance are perfect for relaxation, then the activities, there are unli kayaking and snorkeling.
There are some Cats. A pet friendly resort, sana pwede na rin pakainin:-), Kawawa naman
Meals. The 🥞 pancakes, ang sarap!
Over-all... The employees, they are dedicated to their duties and are responsible The stairs.
The food is good but too expensive.
- Sean (9/5): This will be our default diving resort. - We were very satisfied with the friendly services. The meals, if you are into Filipino foods were delicious. The rooms were very comfortable and quiet.
The price for the rooms were of good value. We have stayed at other dive resorts nearby. Their services and rooms were equally exceptional but were 2 to 3 times more expensive. The only complaint was the 250 steps you needed to take to go down to the resort. We did have staff to help carry our luggage though.
The price of the food, though delicious, was expensive.
- Bzdel (6/5): Pleasant -
- Nanette (8/5): The property was homey, comfortable snd clean and the staff always ready & happy to help - Location was good, staff super attentive & accommodating The 200 steps to het to our room
- Gilbert (9/5): Almost perfect. The food is not so exceptional but very pricey. Staff is very accomodating - Location fine amenities No gym, food are expensive
- Elizabeth (9/5): Would love to come back again. I was so very happy - The view was incredible. Snorkeling in front simply the best. Staff very sweet to me
- Valeriy (1/5): Bad - On 24th October 2024, a day before accommodation resort refused our booking.
Altamare informed us that due to typhon accommodation impossible as no electricity, roads to resort distroyed.
Resort ofer to rebook our reservation, but rebooking is valid if your accommodation is not later then 15th December 2024???
Altamare refused to return our advance payment for reservation and redirect us to Booking.com
- Andressa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Egbert (9/5): Amazing location, comfortable, peacefum, and friendly staff - The rooms, pool, and dining area overlooking the ocean was beautiful. The snorkeling right in front of the resort was amazing. The restaurant was out of stock on a lot of their items. Breakfasts were fine. Some of the dinner dishes were a bit underwhelming. Dessert was limited to ice cream or turon.
- Andrew (8/5): Very good - No white sandy beach
- Sarah (7/5): Good - Staff were very helpful throughout our stay. The rooms were decent too, we had a pool and sea view. And loved that they are pet friendly aswell. The coral reefs were also amazing just in front of the resort! We actually liked the place and didn't mind the stairs, the only downside was that the food options were quite minimal and a some of the items were unavailable. If the food was good and perfect it would've been excellent.
- John (8/5): Our time here may be brief, but it is truly enjoyable being with my family in such a serene and peaceful setting, allowi - I like the serene atmosphere and tranquility of this place, as well as exploring its underwater beauty while snorkeling along the beachfront. The cost of food is relatively high; however, I anticipated this given the location's distance from the city.
- Debra (9/5): Highly recommended. Will definitely come back. - Great location. Superb sea view. Excellent food. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Good facilities. Great for snorkelling. Resort is clean and has good ambience. Rooms are very nice and well-equipped with basic needs for a holiday. The 200 steps going down to the resort and going up to the parking, stairs are not steep, so not as bad as expected. There is an option for a boat ride to the resort for an additional fee. Shower heads in the rooms need replacing.
- Alison (7/5): Would definitely return. - The location was amazing! The views spectacular and the snorkeling straight in front of the resort was exceptional. Arron in the room was great. Quality and availability of the food could have been better. The 200 steps were prohibitive of venturing out for other food options.
- Glecy (9/5): Superb -
- Djdlc (9/5): Superb -
- Hazelle (9/5): Superb - The room was really spacious (good for 5pax). All the food that we ordered from the restaurant were really good and affordable. The sea view from our room was really nice. The stairs going to the reception and the small pool.
- Sheila (7/5): Good -
- Andrea (8/5): Very good -
- Steve (8/5): Long weekend Getaway - Very peaceful. Beautiful view. Kids loved the breakfast! Many many steps!
- Chriscollens (8/5): Very good -
- Meri (8/5): Amazing and affordable stay. With the added scuba (affordable price) and free use of the snorkels/kayaks, you get a - Spacious, exactly as described, nice view The stairs
- Glendis (9/5): I will surely back ❤️❤️❤️ - The view is amazing. Room are well maintained. Staff are very friendly. You need to walk 200 steps by stairs before you reach the main lobby of the resort.
- Nigel (8/5): Very good but some issues. - The staff are all lovely and helpful.
With the exception of dog issues (see below) - this is a clean resort with excellent housekeeping standards.
The food is of a good quality and about the right price for this accommodation standard.
The view was fabulous from our room and balcony but some rooms do not have a view so make sure you request this at the time of booking if it is important to you.
We had a large room and were very happy with all the room facilities.
The wifi is fast & reliable throughout the resort.
You can safely snorkel directly from the beach where you will see lots of sea life - snorkeling equipment is free to hire which is excellent. There are also scuba diving lessons available making this resort perfect for those wanting to enjoy the beautiful clean waters of Batangus.
Overall we enjoyed our time here The policy to allow dogs should be reviewed - they cause noise and are dirty. We found a pile of dog excrement right outside our room on our first morning there - we had to ask twice for this to be cleaned up and in the end I asked the man cleaning the pool to help us. He kindly cleaned it up for us.
This slightly spoiled our first morning on our balcony.
I also saw other dogs on our last night making a mess whilst we ate our dinner - might spoil your appetite !
The rooms do not have sound proofing as you can hear and be easily disturbed by noisy guests above. This did keep us awake on our first night as the guests above us had a dog and were obviously playing with it at 2:00 a.m.
If this might bother you then ask for a top floor room.
Beware of the steps up and down to the resort - they tell you there are 200 steps but I think it is more than that. If you are unfit, elderly or have mobility issues then this might not be the best place for you.
There is free parking but it is limited to first come, first serve.
There are no nearby restaurants or stores - nearest main city is Batangas - an hour away. However, there are tiny sari sari stores for snacks and drinks - but, remember the steps so better to stock up beforehand.
The island hopping tours and other activities are overpriced compared to other destinations I have visited in The Philippines.
Not all the menu options were available - for two days running we wanted pizza and spaghetti with meat balls but this was not available - I found this strange as it was the holiday season so surely the full menu should have been catered for; or at least let the waiters know as it is unfair on them to have to keep disappointing guests that they can not have their choice.
We stayed over New Year and there was a compulsory additional charge of 1500 pesos each for the New Year's Eve buffet - I did not mind this but the information in Booking.com states 900 pesos each so it is misleading and should be updated.
- Quinti37 (7/5): Good - Comfortable beds. Breakfast: no assortment for breakfast, no fruit.
Menu a la carte: several dishes not available.
Ensuite bathroom: water pressure was not enough for the big shower head.
Beach is not good for neither walking nor swimming.
The swimming pool is just a big bathtub and not really clean.
You have always to go up and downstairs.
In the information provided before booking, it is said that you will have to walk over 200 steps but they don't warn that you will have to walk those steps always up and downstairs, which is very unsuitable for a resort.
Moreover, in the information provided before booking, they "offer" a boat to go to the hotel, but they don't tell that you will have to pay for it.
- Michael (2/5): Everything was expensive, for was nasty - The view was beautiful The food was terrible.
- Clifton (8/5): Very good - Location, people and servive
- M (2/5): Overall, I will never stay in this hotel again and would not recommend it to anyone who’d want to spend their money wise - - Kind staff in the dining area
- Balcony view from the high floor - Hotel manager yells at the guard stationed in the parking space just because the guard called him about a confirmation on parking. Even though it was not directed to the client, this is an extremely unprofessional behaviour. Unfortunately, his yelling could be heard from the two-way radio of the guard in charge. It was uncalled for and corrective action should be taken.
- Limited parking space forces clients to entrust the car keys to someone else for multiple days. The staff told us that we have to leave them the keys as they were forced to park in a manner that could block the other cars from leaving due to the lack of ample space. Leaving the car keys for someone else’s safekeeping for a multi day stay does not leave the client very much at ease at night.
- The accessibility of the resort from parking space. This leaves clients with mobility issues to no other choice but to avail a boat transfer of 2500 PHP for one way that comprises of a 10-min van ride and a 15-min boat ride. There should at least be another way such as a lift if the transfer isn’t for free. Lots of other hotels that are in hard-to-reach locations offer free transfers precisely due to their inaccessibility.
- If you have mobility issues, you are doomed to take the rooms in the lower floors. Those rooms do not offer great views and all you see are walls.
- There are colonies of ants in every room, regardless of the floor level.
- Sheets used aren’t the cleanest as the bed sheets could still be stained with permanent marks.
- There is no exhaust fan in the bathroom, and you can only open the window for air circulation. There is no window screen that prevents insects from coming in when you open that window.
- For rooms with two separate beds, they provide two sets of toothbrushes and towels, but only one set of toiletries. This makes zero sense. These should be prepared well ahead and the client does not have to call to ask this.
- Rene (8/5): Very good - Nice view, room is big The beach is not so clean, nice Swimmingpool
- Ivee (8/5): - The stairs - it's too high.
- Reks (4/5): Nice room, poor and expensive service. - The place was clearly newly renovated and the beds were very comfortable The reception staff were rude and unable to help with minor requests. It says “dive” in the resort name but they don’t have a certified dive instructor, additionally although I requested diving a week before I arrived, when I inquired day of they had nothing planned and the dive master wasn’t on the property or available. Additionally, the cost of on resort amenities are way over price. Still for my partner’s birthday we indulged in the sunset cruise which was meant to include a bottle of wine and a cheese plate (8,400 pasos). At first they tried to book the one hour cruise at 3pm. Then after getting it to be the hour of the sunset, it didn’t include the cheese plate. After complaining they only reduced 400 paso… when that’s not even the cost of most things on their menu. The included breakfast was minimal, I opted in with purchasing additional breakfast options - the “fruit platter” for 250 pasos was 2 pieces of mango, half a cut orange and 1/2 a cup bad Mellon. If you’re going to the area I strongly recommend finding a different accommodation.
- Ibylou (9/5): It was good but tiring - Beautiful sea view Stairs in going down and up
- Jordi (8/5): Very good -
- Jake (8/5): Very good - The free kayak ang snorkeling Suggest to increase the number of staff in the kitchen to accomodate the heavy amount of weekend guest
- Gamboa (8/5): I’m impressed and feeling unwind. My wife is happy as well - The view, room, food and guest service of the staff The food service. It took 15-20 mins to serve our breakfast
- Dadbucko (4/5): Very disappointed and will not stay again or recommend - The location was very good with amazing views of the ocean and islands Breakfast was included in our stay. We were asked to pre-order the day before and specify what time we were eating. When we arrived for breakfast the next morning we waited 50 minutes for all our orders. The amount of food we received was very little. We went to a nearby restaurant and had a second breakfast.
Service overall was very slow in the restaurant.
On the second day, we had lunch at the restaurant. I had ordered fried chicken. The chicken came out almost raw in the middle.
The rest of the time we were there, we ate at the local restaurant we had breakfast at the first morning.
The fridge in the room didn't work and wasn't clean.
The shower didn't work properly and had mold growing in it.
- Sherwin (10/5): A must visit Pet Friendly-Full of Sea Activities Resort - I like the ambiance, view, the hospitality of the staffs, the activities, foods. I would actually recommend this resort to my friends and families. I also like that we were able to bond or include our pets during our stay The way down the resort and our room was actually on the 6th floor which is difficult for us to traverse back and forth the dining area
- Michael (8/5): Very good -
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Omar (6/5): Pleasant - The water facilities, good snorkeling area, great staff The Samsung AC in our room stopped and broke down in the middle of the night. It was sooo hot, it couldn’t keep the room cold. The AC leaked inside the room too. I slept only for 3 hours and was woken up by the noise outside. Absolutely no sound insulation. You can hear everything happening outside the room. There were bed bugs too that bit my arm. Everyday was a leg day for us due to the stairs.
- Cindy (8/5): Very good -
- Maria (3/5): Beautiful view, very dirty hotel room. - The view is beautiful. Dirtiest accommodation I have experienced in Philippines thus far.
- Krisca (10/5): 7 STAR SERVICE - We would like to highlight the best qualities this Resort has.
𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐅𝐅/𝐒𝐄𝐑𝐕𝐈𝐂𝐄- We had a 7 star experience! Staff are exceptional, from the Kitchen, Bar, Water Activities Team, Frontdesk, Housekeeping and even the Manager in-charge, They were all great in giving us a professional service! You indeed pay for the service. They value you as a guest. We even extended our stay because of how well they made us feel during our stay. Definitely worth recommending. And we will definitely come back with friends.
𝐅𝐀𝐂𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐄𝐒 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐑𝐎𝐎𝐌𝐒- Amazing! Rooms are clean and very elegant. Dining areas, Bar and the reception looks very welcoming. Overlooking the beach and the pool, the place overall is very private and peaceful. We don't mind the 260+ steps stairs. It wasn't that difficult.
𝐅𝐎𝐎𝐃 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐃𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐊𝐒- Too many to choose from. Some people see that the menu is pricey but it is actually the same in any other places in Anilao. It is worth every penny tho. The portions are generous and foods and drinks are all delicious.
𝐖𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐕𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐄𝐒 - Who wouldn't want an unlimited use of Kayak & Snorkeling gears? Mabini is known as the diving spot in the Philippines and you will surely have an amazing experience seeing colorful corals and fishes. We also tried Diving Experience and it is out of this world. What we didn't like are some of the guests who take advantage of the kindness of the staff. We had an encounter on 8/23/23 and the guest on the other table just wanted the waiters to stay with them (even though they were also assisting other tables like us). They ended up shouting on the hardworking waiters and embarrassed them in front of us threatening them that they will report and make a review against them. We would like to take advantage of this flatform to stand by all of the hardworking staff of Altamare and commending them for keeping their cool and staying polite and professional handling difficult guests! We also saw that the manager acted instantly even though he was on day off to settle the issue.
We would like to commend waiters Andrew and Jay mart (If we are not mistaken with the names). They were both exceptional and professional. Definitely assets of Altamare. Because of them we thought we were in a 7 star international resort. Thank you.
- Lanie (9/5): It was a truly pleasing stay with the rooms 360 icean view, infinity poop and readily available snorkeling gears. Love t - Complete with good amenitiea the 264 steps 😬up and down
food quite expensive
- Jayb328 (6/5): it was ok , good I did not bring my mother on this trip. - Food was good. Rooms and bathrooms were ok, good size. the descent down to the actual location was tiring. Not for handicapped and seniors. Im not sure if there's a warning in the website regarding this.
- Antoine (8/5): Very good -
- Arianne (10/5): Awesome - Serenity and peace The 200 stairs hahaha
- Silvia (7/5): I would return -
- Doug (7/5): Couldn’t be any closer to the coast, beautiful setting. - Right on the coast Many restaurant offerings not available
Due to weather restrictions activities very limited and proximity to other restaurants an issue.
- Ирина (9/5): Nice place, room was clean, view from the room and restaurant is wonderful, very hospitable staff, enjoyed our vacation, - Beautiful views, helpful staff, well-maintained territory
- Philippe (7/5): A nice relaxing place to enjoy a splendid seashore - Great breakfast and good range of dishes on the menu. Very good hospitable staff🤝Splendid views from room and dining terrace👍Island hopping interesting. Place not easily accessible. Forcibly a self contained resort. Shame that there are no possibilities of walking around outside the place. Lack of clarity regarding activities. Island hopping was explained to me as 2 stop overs. It was only a 3 hour stop on 1 beach. Advisable to bring over food and drinks as nothing is available on beach. Just payment of a fee😂A few errant cats are lurking around which I found dusturbing.
- Faith (7/5): Family treat for Dad - I like that there is a pool and its beach front. Our rooms were near the pool, restaurant and few steps from the beach which is convenient since we brought along our 76 y/o Dad. Snorkeling and kayak is unlimited when you are checked in. Eating breakfast beside the beach is breathtaking. The sound of waves while eating dinner inside the resto is music to my ears. And if you are already fully paid before coming in, you don't need to provide security fee which is 1k/room. The best person there is KUYA BAI, he carried all our luggages goin down the 200+ steps stair and up when we checked out. I appreciate it so much. I did not know about the 200+ steps when I booked it at Booking.com, my fault. What we did not like are;
Out of the 5 rooms we booked only 1 has security vault. Our room, isn't that cold even if the temp is 17(stayed at 204). We informed the front desk, a guy came, in white shirt and shorts, informed us that he is from engineering, i thought its another guest who mistakenly forgot his room. He did something but its just the same. They have to wear proper uniform going to guest's room. Hotel staffs must have name plates, so we could address them properly.
Foods are not reasonable for its price, presentation and taste wise. And you need to order your food early like 1.5 to 2 hrs before the time you want it serve. Some waiters forget some orders that you have to follow it up... Like my daughter ordered mango shake, she was already done with her pasta and the shake did not came, she went to the bar and told them they forgot the shake because no one was making it. Another was we ordered an hour early for dinner, because we dont want to experience what happen during lunch, we were literally starving waiting for almost 2 hrs for our food. So for dinner, our orders came just in time except for 1 fish and chips, we ordered 2. We ended up waiting again for it.
- Patricia (5/5): Beware of 250 stairs to get to rooms/lobby no elevator and staff weren't great - Beds were comfortable. Beachfront although the beach is a stone beach and not well maintained and no lounge chairs or anything to enjoy the view. 250 stairs up/down to lobby and rooms - no elevator and this isn't stated/mentioned anywhere until AFTER you've booked. One of the reception staff had an attitude problem and although the manager was there and I told him there wasn't an apology or anything. Generally the staff were poorly trained - they kept losing our food orders and were very diorganized. Credit card machine kept getting stuck for payment. Beach should be better maintained. Restauarant rant out of most things
- Rossane (9/5): Superb -
- Joel (8/5): Very good -
- Acidalpha (10/5): Our stay was serene, energizing, and the place is ideal place to withdraw or escape from the demands and stresses of dai - The location is pristine, just a stone's throw away from the beach. The cuisine is delightful, and the staff is exceptionally friendly. Nothing to tell about.
- Ted (9/5): Superb -
- Mary (8/5): Nice place but food drinks are quite expensive - The snorkeling just right in front of the resort Food and drinks too pricey
- Kim (9/5): Superb - I like the view and the area is good for snorkeling. The staff are very accommodating and warm. Kudos to sir Ray! However the stairs going to the rooms are very steep and long..maybe an elevator for the elderlies? overall we loved our stay! Will definitely go back :) The staircase is steep and not elderly-friendly :( and limited food choices.. Wifi connection was poor too. But the mobile data signals are okay.
- Merve (2/5): not recommended - location good I booked for 2 night but after one night I had to leave. limited options for food.
room cleaning is too late .
Activities are so low quality.
I asked to attend any diving or island hopping activity. then Otel informed me I will be joining an island hopping tour with another room of guests. So they told me total price will be divided into 2 rooms. when I joined the boat there were 5 people coming from 2 rooms. Boat took us an island no drinking water available ( no water also in the boat for 3 hrs tour?!) in island boat man asked us 250 PHP per pax as entrance fee and environmental fee. we called Otel since they never informed us about additional payment . and of course there was no receipt available for this additional fee. Then I learned that Otel already asked total price of the tour from other guest and additional half price from me. It was over disappointing but last thing was incredible. I asked one long chair to be replaced under the tree to avoid direct sun. Otel manager didn’t allow staff saying it is not ok to lay down in front of boys(?!) After this last incident I directly moved to next otel even without asking for refund for my other night. last but not least never try to send messages from booking com because Otel keep on sending same auto generated messages every time regardless what you are asking. Although I paid full 2 night price at the beginning they send me a message to pay
additional deposit of one night to secure reservation.
- Ding (8/5): Very good - Service of parking assistant was great. He was very jolly and accommodating upon entry and exit from the facility. His jolly demeanor & personality was a pleasant surprise. Restaurant servers and lugagge carriers were also accommodating and willing to help despite the 7 storey trek to and from the facility.
Room and bathroom were clean and well maintained considering it's a relatively old property. No elevator from the parking area to the front desk area and rooms, making this facility non-PWD friendly. Unfortunately this detail was not indicated in the site booking details.
Front desk personnel were not aware of my bookings and payments completed as early as March 2023. It resulted in my receiving multiple calls to present proof of payment even if I already showed it upon check in.
Breakfast took over 40 minutes to be served even if we specified that we wanted to eat at 730 am.
No ref inside the room and so water provided could not be cooled. Toiletries provided was only good for 1 person even if we were 2 persons checked into the room.
- Chingwen (9/5): we arrived around 9:00pm and checked out at 12nn, hope that we could stay longer - nice view, free kayak and unlimited coffee much better could provide slipper
- Jade (10/5): Exceptional -
- Leah (8/5): Very good -
