• Beate (10/5): Helt topp opphold - Et fantastisk hotell, lite, intimt og personlig. Rent og hadde hva vi trengte. Savnet kanskje kjøleskap på rommet, men vi fikk bruke et felles kjøleskap i resepsjonsområdet. Damen som virket å drive hotellet var superherlig- smilende og blid, og meget serviceinnstilt. Kort vei å gå til havnen, stranden, togstasjonen og restauranter.
• Verified traveler (4/5): Styr unna - Har har eierne lagt inn så lite innsatts for å drifte hotellet som overhode mulig. Dårlig renhold og generelt dårlig standard. Toalettet hadde avføring fra forrige gjest da vi åpnet det. Aircondition manglet delen der du kan styre retningen på luften. Den begynte også å dryppe kondens over sengen om natten. Generelt dårlig lukt på rom og på hotellet. Ja, det kostet ikke allverden, men selv med pris tatt i betrakting ville jeg styrt unna dette hotellet.

• Delphine (6/5): - 3 nuits passées à l’hôtel Vauban, idéalement placé, tout est accessible à pied et places de parking à proximité. Accueil sympathique de la gérante. Chambres propres mais vieillottes. Le balcon est appréciable.

• John (4/5): Great location. Great price. - Great location. Great price. Check in was not made clear. I was never sent any code for lockbox. Luckily I decided to just try to open it and it wasn’t locked so I was able to get my key. Room was comfortable and clean but smelled like a bird cage. Maybe bc it had just rained but smelled horrible.
• Compass443755 (10/5): Wonderful Time in French Riviera - Excellent stay at LE VAUBAN in Villefranche sur mer. Very clean and comfortable. Vallerie is very helpful and friendly. (Ask about the garden shortcut) . This hotel is a perfect location as the buses are excellent.. They leave from Octroi stop 50 yards away opposite the Tourist Information. Bus 15 goes to Nice every 20 minutes. Bus 607 to Monaco every 30 minutes. The hop on hop off red bus for Nice also stops here. You need to download the bus Lignes d'Azur app and can purchase tickets on there. To return to Nice Airport take Bus 15 to Port Lympia ( Nice Port) and from there get the tram to Aeroport. All for €5 euros. Very easy and convenient. The train station is a 15 minute walk and is a bit steep in places. Villefranche is a wonderful base.

• James (2/5): Terrible place to stay. - Trust me do not stay here. I do not do reviews but I wanted to save others from my experience. Most terrible experience of my trip. Avoid. Trust me.

• Companion446968 (10/5): Fabulous little hotel - At first glance I wasn’t sure but this hotel really has its priorities right. The bed was huge and so comfortable. And I mean really comfortable! The pillows fluffy and the linen crisp and white. The bathroom is equipped with a fabulous drencher shower. And the piece de resistance the balcony and view out to sea perfect for lazy breakfasts, afternoons with your book or evenings watching the sun set. Checkin was east and staff friendly and responsive. There’s ample parking around the streets or 2 car parks within a minute’s walk. Patisserie with fresh coffee and veg shop 2 minutes away. A few streets back from the sea front so away from the noise but less than a 5 minute walk from all the shops and seafront restaurants. We loved it. Thank you.

• Paul (10/5): - I stayed for one night for work. The area is very nice the bay very pretty. the hotel and staff were very helpful and polite. the room was spacious and very clean with A/C. I cannot comment on breakfast as was up and gone early. good proximity to shops and beach. I ate out in a local bar which there are many to choose from. don't expect a cheap one though!

• Omar (4/5): Not what you would expect from a 3-stars hotel - They never changed our towels during a 4 days stay. They ignored the sticker on the door asking to have the room cleaned. Check-out is as early as 10:30 AM, while check-in is at 4:00 PM. Yet, they still asked us to check in one hour later. Our request to check-out later was rejected. The mattress is uncomfortable. On a positive note, the darkening curtains work wonders (but don’t move them too fast, or they will fall) and there wasn’t much noise at night.
• Charles (10/5): Great value. - Consider it like a 16 room Bed & Breakfast and not like a bigger hotel that has 24/7 concierge. Nice owner. Location not bad once you learn the shortcut paths to the main action of the village. I enjoyed my stay.

• SCOTT (10/5): - Proper location with easy walking access to shops, marina, restaurants and beach. It has a unique feel to it, and is good value for the price. Virginia was very kind, stayed late to meet us at our arrival, and had valuable suggestions to make our trip even more enjoyable. When booking with Expedia you can select the time of your arrival to let them know what time you will arrive, since there isn’t a person at the front desk at all hours. This helped us check in a bit early.

• flick2490 (10/5): Great value stay, friendly host - I stayed here for 3 nights in August 2021 with my partner and our stay was perfect! Very friendly, welcoming host, she waited for our arrival and our room was ready much earlier than check-in which we were very happy about. Perfect location, just a few minutes walk to the beach, great value for money with clean air-conditioned rooms including a balcony and comfortable bed. Rooms are also tidied daily. I’d definitely stay again and cannot wait to return!
• takashi (2/5): le vauban review - bad facility, not comfortable, front desk closes early. i would not recommend this property. my tv did not work, too much cigarette smoking in the garden area that seeps into your room.
• Verified traveler (6/5): - Room was basic but very clean and towels provided. late check in was facilitated easily. unfortunately bed frame broke during the stay, was temporarily fixed by staff whom were apologetic but stiff uncomfortable with sloping mattress. space to leave bags after check out and before flight was provided but not secure. over all good value for money in location but could use some improvement.

Verder is de ligging ideaal aangezien je lopend zo op het strand kunt komen. Ik persoonlijk vind het niet geschikt voor gezinnen met kinderen omdat de kamers er niet voldoende ruim voor zijn, terwijl je als koppel of eenling juist wel matcht. Aanrader.

• Verified traveler (10/5): - The accommodation is set just above the Old Town of Villefranche Sur Mer which is an easy 5-10min walk through a stunning hillside garden to many great eateries and stores. Directly out front of the property there are more places to eat and a convenience store for groceries. The property is exceptionally clean and comfortable. The hostess is welcoming and made us feel at home. Villefranche Sur Mer is one of the most beautiful towns in the South of France and Hotel Le Vauban made our time here perfect. We will be making an effort to return!

Amenities are basic, but the hotel is comfortable. The biggest selling point is Virginie, who staffs the hotel. She is friendly, personable, and helpful.
