- Debi (8/5): Good location- but nightclub onsite - Very handy to walk across road to beach. Had a restaurant onsite.
Staff very happy and helpful.
Be aware that breakfast is fresh good coffee, juice and a croissant. There is a nightclub onsite. Unfortunately we were there on a Friday and Saturday night and the thumping loud music goes till 2am!! Didn’t get much sleep.
People don’t realise how loud they talk when walking past your room. Also noise from main road.

- Nice (8/5): - Ottima posizione e buon rapporto qualità prezzo

Quindi gran caldo. Pulizia deludente
- luisa (10/5): Soggiorno magnifico - Tantissimo

Tutto ottimo
- Vytautas (9/5): - Host was very nice and helpfull, restaurant great, room cleaning every day. Almost everything perfect just weak wifi in rooms and not very hot water in shower :) despite that everything was ok.
- Frizzi (4/5): - Colazione molto deludente

- 971massimor (6/5): Good enough for one night - Hotel is in the center of the village, just a few step from the beach, comfortable room and shower with blue lights as a spa. The rooms are practically on the street and so the noise is to much. The cleaning is nearly exactly. The staff is pollite and breakfast at the bar is not enough just coffee with a croissant. But is good enough for one night stay.
- djag51 (10/5): Cool, trendy, modern, super location. - We had a very enjoyable stay at Hotel Genova in the center of Scalea. Besides, being the hippest hotel in Scalea, it's practically across the street from The Centro Storico (OLD TOWN), cafés, shops & beach. The design elements of the structure are modern, sleek and inviting. The alfresco lounge is the perfect place to enjoy your morning cappuccino & take in the sunny exposure and gentle sea breeze. I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends.
- 347mikeg (10/5): A Happy Holiday in Scalea. - Why did we have a happy holiday in Scalea? It was due to the accomodation that we had selected. To our delite our expectations were exceeded. The management were very helpfull on all our requests, both service wise and information gathering. This was not only our firstvtrip to Scalea but also Italy. And we were astounded by the service received. Thhe staff were alsovery pleasant and went out of there way for us. The food in the resteraunt was well presented and beautifully cooked. The selection of drinks in the bar wil satisfy anyones taste and decidedly at the right prices. The room was kept very cleen during our stay. Therefore We would unreservedly reccomend the Hotel Genova to anyone.
- lisalomax (8/5): Stylish friendly hotel - A very comfortable and clean family run hotel with modern furnishing, the staff are very friendly and the hotel has a great atmosphere good value for money and very central to all amenities. The hotel serves excellent pizza and seafood and very good cocktails. We are in Scalea again in four weeks and will most choose this hotel again.
- EIC (8/5): Central hotel with very comfortable rooms. - A small hotel in central Scalea. The rooms, which are accessed from the outside, are clean and spacious. The bathrooms are particularly modern.
The hotel also has a restaurant serving excellent pizzas and seafood.
Recommendable.
- Cloudmate (10/5): new and stylish - The rooms are beatiful and comfortable and very clean. We liked the modern interiors and moorish architectural style. The staff was friendly enough. Breakfast was a coffee and bun. The hotel is very close to the beach and the center and right next door to the bus station but quite far from the train station.
- silvergate (8/5): A little gem, family owned and managed Ge Nova - Based on favorable reviews, we made it a point to pull off the highway in Scalea for a one night stay at this small, rather new 8-room hotel/motel. The spotlessly clean room turned out to have the most comfortable mattress, sheets, soft towels, and a super modern bathroom, all fit for a 5-star hotel. In this regard, the Ge Nova bested all the other 3,4,and 5 star hotels in which we stayed during our road trip in southern Italy.
The room came with a super comfortable king size bed, desk, flat screen TV, safe, laminate floor, wall mounted, in-room remotely controlled A/C, a fridge(not stocked), and basic white wood furnishings which showed early signs of abuse. Good overhead and bedside lighting gave the room a bright ambiance, a large window added to that. The modern desk lamp was without a bulb, and there was no phone in the room. The bathroom with enclosed, tiled shower, most up-to-date modern sink and fixtures, bidet, and hair dryer left nothing to be desired and it elicited a "wow" when first sighted. Although the windows were double pane glass, trucks rumbling by all night on the highway through town kept us light sleepers from getting a sound night of sleep.
The on-site restaurant with in- and outdoor seating serves delicious food, including a great pizza. Breakfast included in the price is served "on the run" Italian style with juice, coffee, and a croissant.
For the price paid, it is hard to find a nicer, cleaner, and more up-to-date room in the area. The English speaking son of the proprietor is very much showing desire to please his guests, as is the rest of the family. In summary, the Ge Nova is worth a visit.
- Newfields (10/5): A Great little boutique hotel - We chanced upon the Genova whilst travelling down to Calabria from Naples.
It is a very modern hotel (only opened this year in its present state) and at present has only 8 rooms. However the rooms are of the HIGHEST standard. Clean, comfortable and very stylish, with excellent bed and flat screen TV, safe and storage.
The bathroom is spectacular with blue lighting and a huge walk in shower with "Tropical rainstorm" shower head.
As it was off peak, the room only cost 50 Euros for two with breakfast. This consisted of a beautifully fresh "cornetto" plus coffee.
The hotel has also a restaurant with one of the best pizzas I have ever had (from a wood burning stove) and regional specialities. The owner, who, unlike his mother who is on duty during the day, speaks excellent English, said that the old part is being torn down and 16 new rooms being added over the winter.
The beach is a two minute walk across a fairly busy road and the town has some nice bars.
I would highly recommend this hotel and would be more than happy to stay there again.
