Guest Reviews
- Clarkson (8/5): -
- Rapulane (7/5): It was nice and decent. Its a very serene place. - Breakfast was great and we greatly enjoyed the dinner and the service . staff were very friendly from reception to the restaurant.
The bed was nice an comfortable. Water in the bath area was nice and warm The house didnt have refreshments like tea, sugar , bottled water etc. but a kettle was there .
I indicated that I am coming with family but the room provided for one individual. towels , bathing washing items catered for one person. Toile paper was of poor quality and no extra one in the toilet.
There was no fridge where one could put their drinks or food.
There was no pamphlet indicating number for reception or restaurant

- Francisco (5/5): It was a very short stay. Hassle free. - Staff extremely friendly and helpful. The property is a bit neglected. It needs some TLC.
- Masoha (8/5): Very good - I loved the facility, swimming pool, food and hospitality. Car parks infront of your room and its locked.
Waking up to the Sound of the guinea fowls and peacocks.
I would go back again I would recomend more TV channels.
- Tabane (8/5): Very good -
- Philip (3/5): Poor -
- Mauritz (1/5): Bad - There is nothing that is note worthy. The facility is in a poorly maintained, the rooms were dirty and water supply was intermittent and the location is in a run down part of town. The fotos do not reflect an accurate depiction of the current state of the lodge.
- Lame (5/5): Passable -
- Ednah (1/5): Bad -
- Dalley (1/5): very poor very poor . probably the worst experience i have ever had in any hotel i have visited . - did not have breakfast . When we arrived we did not stay as the hotel was apauling there was nothing that we did like and we left without staying . we arrived and we were the only guest in the whole place . insects and bugs everywhere the whole place smelt awful .like it had . had a fire . the rooms were like a prison camp . the staff were begging us to stay .. empty rooms all over empty hotel .. just utterly disgusting .. we had no choice but to leave . i am now in the process of trying to get a refund .. do not book this hotel

- Ntshambiwa (7/5): Good - Breakfast No No coffee, sugar in the rooms.
- Radebe (5/5): We enjoyed our stay. Problem - Only 2 channels & to change them you need to go reception. - Friendly and welcoming staff. Breakfast - Too much of easy/quick to make stuff, e.g. beans, french polony.
- Carl (10/5): Absolutely wonderful. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Will visit again for sure. - This is absolutely a winner. Will most definitely be making use of this wonderful resort again. It was close to work, and very central. Thank you for the staff that was wonderful and very friendly. cant relate to this question. Everybody was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were out of this world. Very neat and clean. Thank you for you hospitality!!

- Mulalo (4/5): Not that exciting - It’s inside a big secure yard Water is not always available and the shower floor cracked.
- Bongiwe (9/5): Superb - One of the best experiences ever, it’s in a township but I couldn’t even tell because the staff was so amazing
- Matshidiso (5/5): i did not spend time at the lodge. There is actually nothing to do there. we went out everyday . - I did not have breakfast there; the dining area was not appealing. Too dull. The swimming pool was not functional. very disappointing.
the bathroom door lock is not functional, and the main door lock is also malfunctioning.
the whole place needs a good revamp. The location is bad, the area looks very risky and very dodgy i must say.
- Lesego (5/5): Passable -
- Ephimotswe (3/5): Poor - Nothing Broken aircon cold water and noise from the festival they held
- Daizy (1/5): The Guest House need a serious renowvation - The staff were good Everything was bad according to the guest us that management is not good at all we even went to them to ask if they can refund us so that we can go somewhere .The electricity was finished from 3pm till past 10 pm no water they don't have the bedding to change and they are very bad .It was only us because we don't know the situation .I regret the day I book there everything must be renewed .It was bad we even want to leave before time because of the situation.

- Bindu (1/5): Bad - The geyser was not working.and the pressure of the water was very low we had problems in using the toilet
- Tseliso (9/5): OVERALL IT WAS ENJOYABLE SHORT AS IT WAS. - THE AMBIANCE, SECLUSIVENESS FEELING. IT WOULD BE IDEAL FOR SUMMER. THERE WAS NO HOT WATER. MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL SHOULD ALWAYS VERIFY AVAILABILITY.
THE SHOWER FLOOR WAS SHOWING SOME CRACKS (PEELING OFF)
- Kidibone (3/5): Poor -
- Anonymous (3/5): Poor -
- Martin (4/5): The place has an admirable African touch, but needs some attention. Great personnel! - The staff were helpful, responsive and very friendly. The ladies who processed my checking-in and the Gentleman who processed my check-out were angels. They are rare gems.
The restaurant staff were equally good and helpful. The beddings seemed old.
The whiteness of the sheets is lost.
Water was a challenge
The cistern cover in my room was broken
The lock for the door need much attention
The aircon was not 100%, for the cold period I stayed there it was very uncomfortable
- Tim (7/5): Passable - Meals were fine Shortage of drinks. Service non existent
- Isobel (8/5): A Home Away From Home - Very friendly staff, welcoming and making one feel at ease. Clean rooms. Dirty glasses, no provision for beverages in the rooms but there were cups and sugar in the trays to insinuate that there should be provision of. Should be a variety of beverages provided during breakfast in an establishment like Big 5 lodge which I believe houses tourists. Not just Ricoffy coffee.
Water that kept on disappearing while taking a shower. Not quite pleasant especially in this cold weather.
- Andrea (9/5): Superb -
- Xolela (8/5): Very much - The safari style and spacious rooms .
The safety and security of the place was very good
Atittudes of staff and helpfulness was on top
I would bring my family and friend in the facility anytime Breakfast didnt have any veges (green or cuccumber/lettuce
Breakfast didnt have any red (Tomatoes)
NOISE level of the festival /music event saturday night.
CHANGING ROOMS 2 TIMES
One room for lack of lights
Another for leaks in the bathroom resulting in wet floor of bathroom
Please try and do maintenance
- Lizel (6/5): Pleasant -
- Cronje (4/5): Disappointing - The staff was trying their very best to accomodate us. They went out of their way. From all the places qe've been they where the friendliest. The facility is out dated. No plugs, we had to go ask. The interior is old and looks really bad. The pool was green on arrival *they did fix it the next day) There was a horrible smell at the restaurant, like dead animal or wrotten garbage bags.
There were spider webbs behind the curtains ... floors polished with old car oil .. our feet still black.
Food is way over priced. The food is ok but we could have found much better for that price.
The rooms and restaurant does NOT look anything like the pictures.
- Coetzee (7/5): Good -
- Katlego (1/5): Bad -
- Molemoeng (8/5): Very good - Location, set-up, tranquility of the area. Lovely staff taking flag for poor management by owners. Poor maintenance - water supply a disaster, nil available after 10am. Tap by the basin dripping instead of running. DSTV zil - only 2 channels available: Da Vinci programme and e-tv and when you ask we are sorting out the problem. Never got sorted for 3 days. Cleanliness not up to scratch - webs behind a mounted tv, damaged condoms in bedside drawers😟. Kitchen staff need some jerk-up; served milk in a jug with flies. That was a disaster.
- Ruth (6/5): Pleasant -
- Patrick (5/5): Passable -
- Peta (5/5): staff were good but they couldn’t do anything about - access to swimming, traditional feel about it no towels provided, I didn’t get the deal I paid for
- Alfie (8/5): Very good -
- Johannes (9/5): Superb -
- Jayabala (5/5): Passable -
- Tatenda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Matshepo (7/5): Overall I was happy. The room was clean. The receptionist people and staff were friendly and helpful - Breakfast was nice. The place was nice and quiet place. Adequate parking. Homely feeling. The wooden bed was cranky .
The kettle had no plug
There were no free condoms
No free toothbrush or toothpaste
Wifi was weak
- Kagiso (3/5): Poor -
- Peter (8/5): Very good - Traffic going there and coming out
- Cindy (8/5): Great staff and good value - Very attentive and incredibly helpful staff Needs a little TLC in some areas
- Anonymous (4/5): I enjoy my stay but I wish the staff can get more knowledge about their country especially history and place of activiti - cleanliness location is not good it’s the rural area surrounded by scrapyard
- Francistown (1/5): Bad -
- Loeto (5/5): Passable -
- Ned (7/5): Hotel was adequate for the price I paid. - The bed I got was a good size and very comfortable. The room was clean and nice temperature when arrived.
A decent continental breakfast was available. Both bed side lamps didn’t have plug socket so they didn’t work.
Whilst the staff were pleasant, when I tried to ask how far away certain things were, they just said “not far”. A rough time estimate would’ve been preferable.
Distance to the centre of Gaborone was beyond walking distance. However, there was a mall about 10-15mins walking.
- Hrh. (4/5): Disappointing -
- Portia (3/5): Poor - Door not secured
- Thebe (10/5): Good and sweet - The situation Shops are little be far for the lodge
