Ian (2/5): AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID - This is more like a hostal AVOID Firstly its advertised with parking but limited, no parking its street parking or a open air carpark that is not secure if you drive a work van. Secondly its advertised as having a restaurant. Again no restaurant. Or any nearby. Shared bathrooms down creaky hallways in a horrible state covered in spiders webs and roll down curtains giving no privacy wither side. Bedrooms are basic NO TV and a rickety wardrobe. Again cobwebs around the room. Very noisy room with poor internet connection. Breakfast inc was help yourself hostal style with what was left over left out stale cereal. Then wash your own dishes. WHEN I STAYED I LEFT COVERED IN BITES I would not recommend or ever stay there again AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID

Deborah (4/5): - Parking is extremely limited. The rooms share a bathroom. Only one bathroom has a shower. The breakfast is help yourself, cook yourself - but at your own risk. There are items open in the fridge without information about when it was opened. The milk was 10 days out of date and sour. A visit from EHO would be advisable. Be aware that the rooms have limited power sockets, ours had an extension lead trailing. There is also no TV. The restaurant was not open for our visit, but there was a bar food menu, but judging by the breakfast fridge we chose not to dine. Expensive for what we got, definitely not value for money, would not book again.

Michael (10/5): The Tree Inn - Stunning 🙂 - The Tree Inn is an absolutely stunning place. Warm , welcome and friendly. There is no parking which was a bit of a pain and due to the age of the building the floors are very uneven which is both amazing and makes you feel a bit drunk! Overall though gorgeous place and highly recommended.
Verified traveler (4/5): Not to be repeated!! - It was a very disappointing night's stay. 1) No parking, so I had to find a place in a nearby street or go to the nearest free car park and as I have heath issues, that made carrying my bags awkward. 2) Bathroom/toilet facilities were shared and rather basic. 3) Communal kitchen was stocked with various, standard foodstuffs and there was a fridge freezer and cooker for guests to use. But it was disordered and bit grubby. 4) The plumbing was what really clinched the awfulness of my stay. It sounded as if all the drainage pipes had partial blockages because each sink made an awful glugging, popping sound every time water was run from the taps. Each time the occupant of the bedroom next door to mine used the sink in their room I lay in bed listening to the loud noises coming from my sink plughole on the adjacent wall!! I am an insomniac and these disturbing noises started at 5.30am, and I had heard thumping footsteps going past my door, en route to the toilet, close to midnight. To be fair, and to possibly explain some of my criticisms, the owner was in hospital and a young chap was running the place single-handedly. Plus, the hotel dates from 14th century, so was historically interesting.
Paul (6/5): - New carpets new decor, no en-suite, smelt a little musty but only to be expected from a 13th century building. On the hole value for money but I would have like an un-suite. The advert didn’t say there was one but didn’t say there wasn’t. A game changer for my better half, as walking round corridors in the middle of the night wasn’t for her.
Joseph (8/5): 17th Century Charm - Be warned this is a very very old place. The floors aren’t even, the walls a partially wooden, but if you love what must 16-17th century pubs this is for you. I do. The young chap behind the bar was very accommodating & helpful! I’ll defo stay again👍
Kim (8/5): - I was upgraded to two rooms from one I had booked but neither had an ensuite - they both shared bat/ shower rooms/ wc's. There was breakfast but I had to make it myself so went out to eat.

Darren (2/5): - Landlord was ill, no staff there, just people helping out who was friends of the landlord. Dodgy extensions plug socket and one part of it wouldn't work for the kettle when plugging it in, luckily I brought my own extension lead with me and I used that. Clean bedroom and well presented, no TV in all the bedrooms. Breakfast included in the price, but the bad news is that you had to do your own breakfast. I used the shower a few times and twice the drain for the shower was blocked and over flowing with water and was like a paddling pool. I told the cleaner and she sorted it out, the next day blocked again. Friends of landlord or people staying in the pub kept on asking us when we are leaving our room at the pub, our room was given to someone else when we are still in bed sleeping and had a knock our door and she had a key. She must of got a different room in the end. Then we saw her the next morning and we was putting a few bits in our car, she asked us again if we was going we said no - we said tomorrow morning. Last night police and ambulance picked up the landlord from the pub and this time he had to stay in the hospital longer. I wouldn't recommend this pub, I would stay away and don't bother, other people was concerned seeing police and ambulance last night and left.

You get extension lead shower room you share with 5 other rooms downstairs Ignore photos you eat in bar 4 main choices and one desert . Kitchen you share they said continental breakfast bread sitting on side with tea towel on top oh and make it yourself. Next morning cat wandering from the kitchen Our phones got stuck to table when we left bar Not been cleaned We left next morning losing 2 nights money but couldn’t wait to get out and booked premier inn

MARGARET (2/5): - The worst place I have ever stayed in. The bedroom needs a clean, bedding not ironed, hair in the bathroom, water taps making noise every time someone used them, kitchen leaves a lot to be desired. No napkins to use at tables. I would never recommend this accommodation to anyone. No adequate parking, it should be mentioned in the literature that there is no parking.

Debra (2/5): - It was not made clear that the bathroom was shared. The bathroom is also accessible to all of the pub patrons. The food in the kitchen is uncovered or not properly covered and left all day without any monitoring. It is also easily accessible to non-patrons. There were dirty dished in the utensil container. There is no parking. It is a municipal lot down the steep hill and not on the property. The owner did not reply to any calls from Expedia regarding issues raised so no refund would be issued. There have been previous complaints regarding this misrepresentation.
Neil (8/5): - quirky is how I describe it and very clean and comfortable very quirky building and a good stocked bar on premises, coffee and tea in the room but a kitchen you can use which is well stocked, the downside which is not a problem with our room (No6) no en suite and no T.V. but thats down to me not looking, the room was fresh and clean and the bed was good and we only used it to sleep in anyway, but its a great place and Simon the owner was a happy chappy we where in Cornwall visiting family so out all day and we had 2 good nights in this place

The kitchen was well equiped, self serve breakfast with a wide choice. The pub was warm and welcoming. I would highly recommend a stay at the Tree Inn.

There was mould and grime just about everywhere you looked.There is a separate kitchen area and cupboards were crammed with food left overs, mouldy bread and the sink plug was blocked with someone's left over cereal. A Health and Safety inspector would have shut the place down. We walked out and the drove the 3 hours back home.

Tim (2/5): Would never Recommend - Shared bathroom, no parking, I had to park a 20min walk away, after driving round for a crazy amount of time, the actual hotel is in the middle of no where, one place came up to order food from as its too far out (chips & icecream £21 ! Crazy!) I had no other option, would have been far too risky to go back out & drive to somewhere after i’d finally parked, as finding a space was near on impossible. Hotel kitchen closed! Local takeaway doesn’t open Tuesdays! Breakfast is a bowl of cereal !!

Nice 25 mins walk or 5 min drive into Bude town with nice range of shops, eateries and beaches etc
mark (4/5): - It probably serves me right for only paying £50 a night. I was surprised there was no TV in the room. It is nice to wake up early and listen to the news until 8 a.m., but I found it long when returning to the room, with nothing to do until the evening lunch. Overall, this made me not want to return to my room. I arrived a little earlier and the only person I saw was another tenant who was about to leave, so I had to walk the 1.5 miles to Bude to waste a little time until 3pm. The shared toilet, shower and kitchen was a new experience. Unfortunately, the time spent looking up at my room ceiling convinced me to leave early, so I left 2 days early. I looked for a restaurant in Bude on google, it showed 10, and half of them had closed.

Paul (4/5): - Always check the info on a hotel no tv in the room and shared bathroom with probably 5 other rooms we booked for two nights and only stayed for one just booked another hotel lesson learnt Also the pub over the road where they recommend for food had drinks last orders at 745pm and she would only allow us one drink when we went in at 750pm very rude behind the bar, the pub where we stayed tho the barmaid was great can’t fault her at all

Liam (8/5): - We had a lovsly one-night stay - breakfast the next day was nice, albeit i must have misunderatood 'included' for self-catering. Hosts welcoming, but busy [england were playing, understandable]. Overall, a fantastically quaint and fascinating place to stay. Would definitely come again
Phillip (8/5): - It was a real treat staying in the Tree Inn. Constructed in the 13th century, I think this is the oldest building I’ve ever spent the night in. With a building so old there’s some things that are going to be kinda wild—curvy hallways and strange layout and stuff—but this is to be expected and is part of the charm. The host was great (I didn’t catch his name but he was cool) and the ambience was very good.

John (6/5): - Friendly & helpful staff. Decent help-yourself cereal breakfast. Unfortunately the whole place felt tired & in need of refurbishment- lots of peeling paint, mattress felt cheap, thin & needed replacement. If you don’t mind the above, it was good value in a good location. Many thanks.

keith (8/5): - We liked the friendly staff and other pub goers and they served a good pint of bitter from the barrel ! We did nt like the lack of parking, room had no en suite, and only a bath in the shared bathroom, rooms had paper thin walls and you could hear conversations as if they were in your room ! Had to cook your own breakfast from a shared kitchen. we felt we were staying in a youth hostel !

Barry (8/5): A fine hotel in not far from Bude. - We were on a cycle trip Lands End to John O'Groats, and the hotel was fairly close to the route. We were able to get a meal at night and the breakfast was fine too. Hotel were able to offer safe and secure storage for the bike. The hotel is quite a historic building and could perhaps do with some refurbishment, but it had a nice touch of charm about it and the staff were very friendly.

Verified traveler (8/5): Three night stay at The Tree hotel - Very friendly host in the owner. It was a shame that the restaurant we were expecting , for evening meals, now closed due to a lack of a chef. The building is a quirky Elizabethan hotel with all the quirky uneven floors etc.

Jay (10/5): - The staff were warm and inviting, especially the proprietor Simon. The room was tidy and clean. The best was the 14th Century building with a carriageway entrance for a front door and nary a straight line or level floor board to be found. This is a rare gem. And, strange for such an old building, the best shower in all of Cornwall (hot and high pressure). I got to sample the new Indian cuisine that could soon be available at the hotel. I hope so. It’s excellent!

guy (8/5): - Very unique. Old pub, sloping floors. Friendly landlords. Could be a little cleaner in common areas. Very good value for money.
