Allen (8/5): Great and comfortable place. But prepare for a challenging luggage haul. - We had the great attic room that has a rustic and homey vibe. It feels great to wake up in the morning to the sound of birds and have coffee at the veranda with the rooftops of old houses as a view. The host is very friendly and speaks good English as he explains the best places to go in the old town. The hotel itself is just a short walk away to the best places in town so it is very convenient. The bathroom is clean. The sheets and towels new and crisp. Prepare for a long haul if you have a luggage. The road in the town is made of cobbled stones so it will definitely damage your luggages' wheels unless you lift it all the way. We used Didi when we came in so we were able to be brought in through a tight parking lot across the small canal at the back. We only lifted our luggage for around 300 meters across the bridge. That is a better option than the 700+ meters through the Tourist Center. Didi is only 12 yuans to Tongli Railway Station. Better and more convenient than the recommended ATR by the host. Still a good stay for us. Will definitely come back to same hotel.

Er bat auch Transfer hin und zurück zum Parkplatz in seinem Tücktück. Sehr zuvorkommend. empfehlenswert Die Raumheizung und Bettheizung haben perfekt funktioniert (war kalt und feucht).

Maria (10/5): Great choice - The guesthouse is in a quiet location very close to Tongli's main square. The room and the guesthouse are very nicely decorated. Outside my room there was a big terrace with tables and chairs where you could sit down and relax. Pity it was too hot when I was there to be able to enjoy it! The AC in the room was too tempting. The owner can speak English and he was very helpful. He even came to the pick me up at the the tourist centre. I definitely recommend this place!

Location is great with all attractions in walking distance and in a quiet place good for a good night rest. Security is good with electric lock main door. The owner is very helpful in giving information. Pick us up from the ART station and allowed us an early check in. Bought for us the entrance ticket . Upon check out, he personally takes us to the ART station. Strongly recommend for anyone visiting Tongli to stay here.

It’s simple, slightly quirky and very comfortable with rooms decked out in a subtle way with little fairy lights. We had a lovely big comfortable bed, with a electric blanket, which could come in handy on colder days. Staff were very welcoming and helpful, I would definitely stay here again. Would be great if it did breakfast. Difficult to know when it was ok to use coffee maker. Reception area a bit cluttered. None of this would stop me staying again though.

But we do need a more secure sense of stay and the old style lock is not giving us much sense of security. I guess it’s just the style and unique experience of the place.
Tina (7/5): I had a comfortable stay in a town well worth visiting. - A cosy inn down a lovely quiet lane. It's close enough to the main tourist areas for easy access, but far enough away for peace and quiet. It was fine.
Lieselhamilton (10/5): Exceptional - This place exceeded our expectations, especially when it comes to cleanliness. You don't find such spotless accomodation options in China very often. And the interior is exquisite. Great location for strolling around Tongli Water Town. -

Holly (10/5): Cute, quiet, cozy in Tongli village - I loved staying at this guesthouse, already planning to come back again sometime. We stayed 3 nights. The guesthouse is in Tongli ancient town, which can get quite busy. But the guesthouse was on a totally quiet little road, just a few minutes walk from the action but safely hidden away when you want to escape. Spent a lot of time in the quiet hotel neighborhood drinking tea next to the canal and reading a book. Totally relaxing.
