Breakfast only begins at 9:00 at weekends but the staff made an effort to get me a meal at 8:oo. I thought the bed too old fashoned with creaky springs.

Perfect stop off before a 30-minute trip to the ferry port in Bilbao. Good Irish bar nearby followed by a Kebab from a shop outside the gate. N?A

• B (10/5): If only more hotels / guesthouses were like this - It’s a historic building, beautifully renovated, perfect location. Big room with wooden floors, big window with a view. Staff was very friendly. In the morning I only felt like having a small but healthy breakfast and that was accommodated easily.

• Greg (7/5): Good Location for a Short Stay - Good location in a quiet rural town within easy reach of Bilbao by bus. Quaint, charming, rustic hotel. Comfortable, quiet. Cobwebs in the rafters and windows; hairs from previous guests; could be cleaner.
• Martin (10/5): good place to stay for a stop over, longer time and to explore the surroundings. - It's kind of a walk in yourself kind of hotel but the owner is apparently always available and very helpful. You drive off the highway, turn into the town and the access to the hotel is very quick and it has a private parking place for round about 8 or 10 cars I would say. The building is very beautiful and old. It's quiet, and though at the edge of the city, also 1 or 2 minutes walk into the center and it's a very nice town with everything at your disposal. I'd recommend it. Shower head was a bit dodgy but not dysfunctional nor very important.

• Daniel (8/5): Authentic Spainish experience, would stay again :) - Authentic Spanish hotel, next to a nice small town square. Really liked the traditional building. Off street parking. Close to Bilbao for a day trip on the train (station was only a 5 minute walk away), Friendly owner who went out of her way to communicate with us via Google Translate. Bed quite soft and small breakfast, but really not bad for a budget stay!
• Cynthia (6/5): Lovely accommodations - The hotel is very nice and one can walk to the train station in a few minutes to catch a train to Bilbao (every 30 minutes for most of the day and it takes about 30 minutes). It costs about $2.50. The receptionist is very nice and extremely helpful. The hotel is well appointed and is remodeled from an old stone house. It is comfortable.l and clean. In our room we could hear very clearly what was going on in another room (or other rooms). Phone calls, sounds from tv or phones, showers, conversation, a man coughing were noticed. We didn’t listen to tv or produce any sounds ourselves but we heard these sounds clearly. It did not affect our sleep but other guests may be put off by this problem.

• Russell (9/5): Old world ambiance in a serviceable base for touring. - Lovely, characterful old house, tastefully restored with some rustic pieces of old furniture. View from the front is over a little square behind the theatre, so fairly quiet and yet conveniently central. Not much we did not like. Note that the breakfast is fairly minimal, but effectively free, so only a churl would complain. Sufficient to sustain the hungriest soul as far as a morning pintxo at Cafe Venecia...
