- Alison (10/5): Romantic weekend away - Great location, lovely big room (stayed in a deluxe double), very clean and comfortable. Amazing staff. Large windows down to the floor which left no privacy on the front street. Had to keep thick curtains closed on beautiful sunny days.

The staff could not do enough for you especially Amy on reception going out of her way to recommend nearby eateries. My niece wants to return to Southport to see her especially! I rang in advance to request a quiet room as I am a light sleeper and the room was perfect and so quiet. Great location and nearby reduced rate car parking. Beds super comfortable also! Room service did forget toast with breakfast however we appreciate we rang to receive it earlier than scheduled and it was not a problem. It did not stop us enjoying it. Thank you all you do an amazing job!

Our family were in 3 rooms and they all said the same. I think the water pressure had something to do with it, it kept dipping.

- Brent (8/5): - Nice size room. Large flat screen tv with Netflix No view out of window. Overlooking flat roof and noisy air conditioning fans. Mirrors in the room not well situated. The mirror over the dressing table was far too high. You couldn't even see the top of your head. The large bed was two singles zipped together. The zip was painful when turning over during the night.

The atmosphere is very welcoming! Check in was very quick and easy. Both me and my husband thought the price for one night was spectacular! Great value for money! Especially with the amenities! Canât fault the Cleanliness! Bathroom was spot on and beds were beautifully made and clean. The noise level was okay not amazing but okay. All in all we would definitely stay again!! - axp14 (8/5): Overall good but some flaws sadly - I suppose this would be described as a mixed but honest review. Was the experience good? Yes. Could it have been improved? Yes. Would we stay again in this small boutique hotel? Yes. On arrival Zoe was brilliant, really friendly and helpful, parking is easy around the rear of the building for only ÂŁ8 for 24hrs once registered, again Zoe sorted this out for us. The room (119) on the second floor is only accessible by the stairs as the small lift only goes to the first floor but we are fit and able so carrying the bags to the second floor wasnât an issue for us. Room 119 is a gorgeous room with an awful view of the flat roof and cables. The window is small making the room very dark but the decor is beautiful. The bed is only a double and not the king as advertised, the bathroom is modern and again very well presented and only let down by the electric shower and poor water pressure. The sports bar is fantastic with a great choice of drinks but sadly the brassiere in the attached âGrandâ was closed on a Monday and Tuesday as was the attached Irish bar on the other side of the hotel. The breakfast if reviewed on its own would be 2 out of 5 rather than the 4 stars I have given. Breakfast is served in the sister hotel over the road in the Bold which again is beautifully presented, but take an umbrella if itâs raining to walk over Lord Street which is busy. As with the previous review we were at the same service and it was shocking. On the table was advertisement for a âFaulty Towers dining experienceâ and I actually thought we had inadvertently paid for this. It must be stated that this was not the lone waitressâs fault who was struggling to keep service with no reasonable resources. The buffet bar was easily with worst I have ever seen with 4 packets of cereal but only 2 choices, there was no fresh fruit, no glasses for the juice, no butter and no coffee but we were offered a fizzy drink from the bar until coffee beans were sourced. We witnessed the previous reviewer leave (Peter P) in disbelief of the experience but we decided to wait. After 35mins our hot cooked breakfast arrived and it was very good other than the scrambled egg with had been dumped over the contents of the plate rather than presented and the toast was burnt and cold. Coffee finally arrived and the waitress apologised, she was very polite and m was clearly doing her best under the circumstances. We took advantage of the leisure facilities offered for free at the Victoria centre on the promenade and these would be described tired and very average but ok for nothing. Thank you hotel team for your service.
- peterp403 (8/5): Hotel excellent but breakfast a disaster - We stayed in room 110 which was excellent so apart from limited storage space (drawers) we were delighted. However breakfast was a disaster. Day one my wifeâs scrambled egg was serviced with burnt toast (we were offered a replacement) No issues with my breakfast , first class coffee was served. Day 2 breakfast buffet consisted of 4 packets of cereal and some fresh fruit. I asked for some yogurt but was informed that âwe have run outâ but after checking in the kitchen the waitress found one remaining tub. After nearly 25 minutes the waitress said our order for coffee would be delayed because we have run out of beans. We had noticed that some tables had been waiting some time for their breakfasts to be served so we decided to call it a day and leave. In summary I have stayed in many hotels over the years and I would rate the hotel in the top half but the breakfast service was one of worst I have experienced.

- Amcclafferty (10/5): Very Nice Stay! - My wife and I stayed at The Lord Street Hotel on Friday and Saturday last week. We stayed in a deluxe room with breakfast, this was at the sister hotel over the road (The Bold). The room was a great size, with a king size bed, large tv and en-suite bathroom. The shower wasnât the most powerful, but was sufficient. The hotel has a sports bar and Irish bar, both of which we visited and enjoyed during our stay. The hotel is close to everything that we wanted to see - the seafront, the shops, and local bars and restaurants. The only slight negative is that there is no free parking. We wouldnât hesitate to stay here again if visiting Southport.

- Bev (5/5): Unfortunately not for us - The room decor was really nice Wish I would have know about the following before I booked - two flights of steep stairs with heavy luggage no lift isnât ideal We paid for a superior room but the view was of noisy 24/7 air conditioning units and rubbish hence we couldnât open the windows or the curtains plus not much sleep due to the constant humming. We had to go across a very busy main road to another hotel for breakfast in the freezing cold wind and rain which is totally unacceptable

- J2598HHjoee (10/5): Lord Street Hotel & The Bold Southport - Stayed for 2 nights on a B&B board. The King suite is very spacious and comfortable with great views of Lord Street below. The King suite is up on the third floor, and be warned that there is only a lift up to the first floor, so if you have trouble lugging your luggage up 2 floors it wonât be for you! Breakfast is served across the street in The Bold and comprises of cold buffet and hot full English which is waiter served. I must say that Joao Tome is a fantastic host who both has time for the guests and keeps on top of the tables too! Thoroughly recommend a stay here in Southport!

- Inspire11462923871 (10/5): A great reasonably priced hotel - Had a lovely family overnight break at the Lord street hotel. We have stayed several times before and as ever it didnât disappoint. Our room ( 105) was lovely , nicely furnished and spotlessly clean, all amenities were great and the bathroom again was spotlessly clean. The bar downstairs was pleasant but quiet as it was early doors. The lady on reception- I think it was Elise ( dark haired and with glasses ) was excellent , very friendly and super efficient in checking us all in and again on check out the next day. We didnât have breakfast so I canât comment on that ( usually at the sister hotel over the road ) and the pillows in the room could be nicer but other than that a fabulous stay and we can highly recommend the hotel for a nice overnight stay and will be back again soon.

Nice helpful young lady checked us in an informed us breakfast was at the Bold hotel opposite , which was fantastic. Had a coffee with the maintenance manager Tommy who is passionate about his job and is a cracking fella. Would deffo recommend this hotel when staying in Southport. đ

- simon (2/5): Very disappointed. - Location. Staff member at checkout. Did not get room that was prebooked. Told us it was an upgrade but were not offered a choice, we were told it had been done. Had no communication prior to arrival to tell us, it was said at check-in after we had travelled. The changed room was unsuitable and had 2 beds pushed together not one bed which I paid for in advance. Regardless of being told we should have mentioned it before checkout we had travelled and had showered and changed and were in bed where we discovered it was 2 beds together with an uncomfortable groove between them. It was inappropriate to suggest we should have come back to reception to tell them. We had settled and changed. Also no warm water in sink which had been mentioned by others although my reply via email told me no one else had complained about that. It is in the reviews on here that they had. The room change after paying in advance in full was wrong.
