Guest Reviews
- Susan (6/5): Lovely Stay - We had a lovely stay at Foinaven B&B and our host was very helpful and informative. We recommend for a quick stay.
- Peter (8/5): - Very vlean room, with comfortable bed and very good shower. Relatively, the checkout time was a little early.
- Stefan (10/5): - Lovely host
- Linda (10/5): - We received a warm welcome from Threse upon arrival. The continental breakfast was more than enough food to start our day. The bed, pillows & linens were so comfortable! We enjoyed our stay.
- Robert (4/5): - Therese, the owner is doing a good job! Butthe room was too small for us. There is a big cupboard which takes a lots of place and is unnecessary. Then the Bfast was served in the room on a Tray table( which was nice) but how to eat?? Istead of asking we were told that bfast will be served at 8. Were also told loud and clear checkout at 9. Checkin only between 4 and 6 pm. Parking was tight. One can hear the conversation from the other rooms. Oh well it was our first time in a B& B, perhaps it is like this everywhere. I don't know. Wish the owners all the best!!!
- Kevan (10/5): - Run by a lovely lady who looked after us
- James (10/5): Great place with friendly hosts - I was welcomed into the B&B. I had a very nice and friendly chat with the host. She is lovely! The breakfast in the morning was perfect and delivered bang on time too!
The stay was perfectly enjoyable and if I ever come to Scotland and go that far North again, I’ll be staying here.
- Isabel (10/5): - Breakfast on a tray to my room
- sharon (10/5): - Theresa was lovely room was very clean and comfortable, breakfast was continental was was great ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
- Susan (8/5): - Nice place. Very generous continental breakfast
- Helen (10/5): - Fabulous!
- Graeme (8/5): - Really friendly and helpful, easy to find and safe for bikes/scooters
- Mark (6/5): Feedback - Host was friendly and welcoming and gave good information about the area. Bed uncomfortable, room not very soundproof as we heard person talking on phone next door. Okay for 1 night, but we was told we had to be back before 10:30pm due to locking up. Felt like we was staying in someone’s house, rather than B&B.
- Kathleen (8/5): - Great little breakfast included that is delivered to your room in the morning. Lovely host!
- Larissa (10/5): - The owner was very personable. I interrupted her Sunday evening meal and she still was happy to help me. I enjoyed room one, which I would change the name to the heart/hart room. I would “hide“ a few more hearts/harts for guests to find and offer a Scottish keychain as a prize if they found them all, perhaps like the one that came with the key to the room. Threse made my stay relaxing and comfortable, just what I needed.
- Carla (8/5): - If you are looking for a quick in and out, this place is fine. If you are looking to relax, this is not the place. Check out is for early risers. Says their is parking on site, but we had to block in the host and a guest. We went out for a walk, and of the guest needed to leave, they were out of luck. We were then woken up at 7:30 because the guest wanted to leave, and they were blocked in. This should not have effected our stay. As far as the room goes, it was small and cramped with unneeded furniture, and an outdated television that had limited options for the cold and rainy day. Check in instructions were unclear. When we arrived and entered the unlocked door we were greeted with " How did you get in, the door was locked." Not a "welcome". We have stayed in many places and felt like intruders instead of guests.
- MARGARET (10/5): - Theresa was a welcoming host. The room was cosy and restful with a very comfortable bed. House is conveniently located in quiet area of Ullapool
- John (8/5): - Nice B&B and host was welcoming. Bedroom was not that big and had a new compact bathroom.
- Mona (4/5): - Check-in time is 4:00 and check-out time is 9:30. I arrived early at 2:30 pm,and I wanted to park my Car until the check in time, but the house door was closed and not opened until check-in time. I asked the owner if we could sit in the garden . She refused and said the only place you have it's your room. Breakfast was also served in the room and we eated on the bed because there is no breakfast place. The price is high. The place is far from the city center.
- George (8/5): - Nice quiet small property
- Allan (10/5): - Nice quiet location and very friendly owners. Excellent wake up call and breakfast in the morning.
- Colin (10/5): - A great home to stay at with a great host .
And despite it being a bit away from the dock. It is an easy walk through the park if you have not got your luggage. If you have luggage there is a good taxi service available
- Stephen (6/5): - Stay was good
- Ian (6/5): - The B&B was clean and we had a friendly reception. There is no communal space, so breakfast was in the room but with not table to sit at. The was no wardrobe which was ok for one night but might be an issue for longer stays.
- Mike (10/5): - Warm, friendly welcome. Room spotless, comfy bed and nice hot shower. All topped off with a lovely breakfast, with plenty of toast, croissants, breakfast bars, yoghurt, bananas and fruit juice. Perfect!
- Iain (8/5): - Room was clean and tidy.Bed comfy.Breakfast was a morning tray but was substantial.
- Garry (10/5): Great experience. - It was a most enjoyable stay, the owner was super friendly and looked after everything to a high standard. The room was spotless and super comfortable. Had a place to park and the area was super quiet and only a short trip to town.
- Hamish (8/5): - Very comfortable
- Clare (8/5): - Host was lovely and couldn't do enough for us. She gave us advise on where to eat out and directions on walking there. Continental breakfast was an added bonus, just a shame with room being so cosy my husband had to sit on the bed to eat his.
- john (10/5): - Very homely
- Carl (6/5): - It reminded us just how far B&B accommodation has come. This place was like stepping back in time.
We were greated nice enough but then told that the breakfast element of the B&B would be a Continental breakfast minus most the Continental breakfast, on a tray on the room!
The bed was old and tired and the bathroom needs a refit.
It is all clean so no worries there.
The property is 20 minutes walk onto town through a housing estate and park.
If the room was £50 a night it would have been acceptable, but for over £100 it was very poor value for money.
- Rebecca (10/5): - We received a very warm welcome. Facilities were good. Very clean. Very comfortable bed. Quiet location
- pauline (10/5): Perfect stay - It was just what we needed for our stay over, very helpful with local knowledge and left after a very comfy night with breakfast thrown in
- Pierre (10/5): - Nice walk into town, super safe and over a wee bridge!
Loved the spot and next trip would stay multiple nights.
- Sarah (10/5): - Comfortable and clean with a lovely host who couldn’t do enough for us. Highly recommend
- FRANK (6/5): - Our room wasn't very big, there was a lot of space taken up with unnecessary furniture. Given you had breakfast in your room it made it quite tight for space. Our host was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and considering what other properties were charging it was reasonable.
- Michael (10/5): - Very convenient location for an overnight stay before getting the Stornaway Ferry. The room was very clean and comfortable and the continental breakfast, delivered to room, was excellent too. Very recommendable.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The property was easy to find in a quiet residential area a short drive from the local amenities. The room we stayed in was very clean and nicley decorated but on the small side. Breakfast was served on a tray in the room which consisted of a slection of items, the multi pack pastry and the coffee could of been better. It was awkward to sort the breakfast in a cramped space and we ended up sat on the bed eating it which wasn't a great experience. I'm glad we were only booked in for one night as it felt like you were confined to the small bedroom as there is no other area to relax. It was fine for one night but we probably wouldn't stay here again.
- Jock (10/5): - Lovely Irish welcome. The room was lovely, clean, warm and a great peaceful nights sleep. They do a great continental breakfast, brought to your room in the morning. I was told to ask if i required anything, but i was very happy. Highly Recommended.
- Gail (8/5): - Owners of the property were pleasant and very helpful
- mark (10/5): - Loved overnight stop on route touring Scotland
- Mike (10/5): - Friendly welcome, comfortable clean room and nice breakfast. Perfect for our requirements.
- Tom (10/5): - Lovely welcoming & accommodating host, very comfortable bed and nice breakfast thank you
- Mr. G G (8/5): - Warm welcome. Room and ensuite rather cramped but comfortable. Excellent and well thought out continental breakfast materials supplied to room.
- Sandra (8/5): - Very nice, clean and friendly
- Anthony (8/5): - Lovely place and location.
Light beakfast is served in your room
- Rebecca (10/5): - Lovely, clean albeit quite a small room. The property is a short walk from the town centre of Ullapool.
The host explained everything we needed to know about our stay upon arrival.
The only negative was the bed was quite creaky.
- Alan (10/5): - Although the room was quite small, it was beautifully decorated and had everything needed for a short stay. A continental style breakfast is served on a tray in your room. There was.more than enough provided ,- tea, coffee, toast, croissants, yoghurts, fruit, orange juice. Would recommend the Foinaven.
- Victor (10/5): - was made to feel very welcome on arrival
- STUART (8/5): - Very kind and thoughtful host. Great supply of fruit ,snacks, orange juice etc.Plenty of board games too.
- Frances (10/5): - Hostess was very pleasant, the bird song was a treat
- SARDHA (4/5): - Very clean but room was too compact and breakfast in such a small room is not acceptable . Not recommended for adults.
- Trevor (10/5): - We were given a very warm welcome and advice about where to find an evening meal. Room warm and comfortable. Breakfast was amazing - continental style.
Would definitely stay here again if visiting Ullapool in the future.
- Graeme (8/5): - Very friendly.
- Alison (8/5): - The owner was very friendly; made us feel at home. The room was particularly small.
- Carlene (8/5): - The host was very nice and helpful, bed was comfortable, breakfast was good, I enjoyed my stay here very clean as well.
- Martin (10/5): - Breakfast was excellent
- Barbara (8/5): Very comfortable - Friendly host with helpful suggestions for evening walks and meals. Room comfortable and en-suite immaculate.
No sitting room and continental breakfast served in your room. Good internet.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great place for an overnight stay - A comfortable room for an overnight stay and convenient for the ferry termina. Very quiet area with off street parking. The owner was friendly and helpful.
- Karan (8/5): Welcoming host - Great value for money. Really welcoming host. Nice breakfast tray in the morning.
- Aaron (10/5): - Lovely, friendly guest. Very comfortable, clean accommodation. Would recommend!
- Mark (10/5): A good sleep before the ferry - Overnight before the ferry. Clean, well positioned, friendly welcome. The breakfast tray was good.
- Lesley (10/5): - The host was amazing and the continental breakfast tray was beyond our expectaions
And she accommodated our early departure
- Christine (8/5): - An easy, very scenic, 15 minutes walk into town. Very nice breakfast, friendly owner.
- Gwendolyn (10/5): - Very clean, private and quiet. Slept well. Continental breakfast served inside my room. Not far from ferry terminal by car.
- Dennis (10/5): -
- Lisa (8/5): - The only negative to our one night stay was eating breakfast in our room. The service and food was great, but an area with a table and chairs would have been nice. Otherwise, it was lovely!
- Judith (10/5): - Foinaven is a lovely b&b with a welcoming, friendly host. Breakfast was brought to our room on a tray/ table and was lovely and fresh. The room was spotlessly clean. It is about 15 minute walk into town. Would recommend.
- trish (10/5): - Lovely room and furnishings and good hot shower. Lovely host who takes great pride to deliver a good service.
Breakfast was lovely and beautifully presented.
Only downside we only stayed one night! Would definitely stay again if up this way.
- Julia (10/5): Would stay again - Very friendly hostess. Bedroom very clean and white bedding spotless. Breakfast was continental was very good.
- jeffrey (8/5): - .
- Mrs. A J (6/5): - Pleasant property
- Ross (10/5): - Excellent for our overnight stay in Ullapool before catching the Stornaway morning ferry.
- Maria (10/5): - We had an amazing stay in the B&B, it was very clean and the hosts were very welcoming. The breakfasts were tasty and the room was large with a great p
- Heather (6/5): - We stayed here one night while driving the NC500. The room we had was beautifully decorated, new and clean. It had a brand new en-suite bathroom. The drawback for us was it was very small and there was no room to open up suitcases. It would probably be better for just one person. There also were no common rooms so you were stuck in the small bedroom for the whole stay. Breakfast was served on a tray to the room and was not a hot breakfast.
- Philip (10/5): - Friendly and welcoming. Great location for ferry but nice, quiet road. Lovely breakfast.
- Lorraine (8/5): - Comfortable one night stay. Very helpful host
- Deirdre (10/5): - Very comfortable room. Very helpful host .
- Keith (10/5): Good stay - Great host
- Mary (10/5): Foinaven b&b a little gem - First stay here. Family run. Very friendly and warm welcome. Room and en suite amazing. Lovely bed, whole room and bathroom very clean. Continental breakfast delivered to the room enough for 2 days!
For all the comfort and amazing breakfast, quietness and free parking we will definately return. Thank you!
- JULIE (8/5): - Small but comfortable and friendly.
- Alex (8/5): Good location stay - Slightly smaller room compared to alot of b&b with continental breakfast served on the bed. Very comfortable bed and well located
- Larisa (10/5): - Good location, just 10 min walking to the centre over the riva and woodland, clean and comfortable room, good breakfast.
- George (10/5): Great place for an overnight stay! - A fantastic place to stay overnight if doing the NC500, the room had a wonderfully comfortable bed, superb shower and everything was spotless.
The continental breakfast was fabulous with enough food for an army, very tasty and set us up well for our day!
- Shaun (10/5): - Small room when having your luggage in, but manageable. Loverly host. Immaculate.
- Simon (10/5): - The host was lovely and friendly and really made us feel welcome. The room was a nice size with an en suite & the breakfast was spectacularly good with so much on offer. Due to Covid restrictions we had to have this in our room.

Continental Breakfast was served in our room due to current COVID restrictions which the owners took very seriously. Overall a lovely place to stay.
- Widaad (8/5): Stopover NC500 - A stop over doing the nc500. Nice location. Easy to find. Quiet and comfortable.
