- Karen (10/5): Lovely B & B, wonderful host - Chez Charitha is a lovely B & B in the centre of the pretty little town of Azay-le-Rideau, a couple of minutes’ walk from the chateau (well worth a visit). Charitha himself is the perfect host: welcoming, helpful and very generous. He greeted us with drinks and snacks (every welcome after a long drive), and gave us lots of helpful tips on restaurants, parking and places to visit. We made very good use of the good quality bikes that he makes freely available to guests. Breakfasts are delicious: good coffee, lots of fresh fruit, breads and pastries, cheese, hams and homemade jams etc. Charitha has renovated his house beautifully. The room was spotless, lovely bathroom with powerful shower and very comfortable bed. There is free parking a just a couple of minutes’ walk from the house. I would have no hesitation in recommending Chez Charitha to anyone planning a trip to the Loire Valley.
