• George (8/5): The hotel was the perfect place to base out of for visiting Biblical sites in the area! - We traveled to Philippi to visit the archaeological sites. The hotel was perfectly located for visiting them! The breakfast was incredible! One of the best on our 11-day trip! Everything was freshly prepared and brought to our table! After breakfast, the hotel owner asked if we would like a short lecture on the history of Philippi to which we agreed. It was fascinating! Everything was great!
• Fotini.F (9/5): - Sehr angenehmes und schönes Hotel. Der Ausblick ist das was am meisten dort zählt. Zum entspannen auf den Balkon mit einer ruhigen Lage sehr angenehm. Die Ausstattung auf dem Zimmer sehr gut und das Personal sehr sehr freundlich und jeder Wunsch wurde erfüllt. Werden auf jedenfall wieder kommen. Für die kalten Wintertage empfehlt es sich lange Klamotten mitzunehmen.

Otel Kavala-Drama ortası diyebileceğimiz bir yerde tepe üstünde güzel manzaralı bir yerde.Odalar son derece temiz konukseverlik harikaydı.Bir daha geldiğimizde gözü kapalı tercih edebileceğimiz bir yer. • Karel (10/5): We can only recommend a stay at the Philippeio Hotel. - A quiet and poetic place with a beautiful view of the countryside and the nearby excavations. Greek breakfast, rich and tasty. Staff always willing to help and advise, but not intrusive. Parking is possible right next to the hotel, plenty of space. There were no lunch or dinner options at the hotel restaurant during our stay.

• Saverot (10/5): Exceptional - After correcting a snafu on my reservation (it was in their printed files for their records....but not on the computer! Thus, the hotel was not expecting me...!!), everything was perfect and I had the most gracious hosts ever...chit chatting with me at breakfast ! As a bonus, I was gifted with a jar of their own Philippeio honey! Much appreciated indeed. Apart from the "scary" part ( "we don't have you on the computer"), everything was perfect.
• Parmaria (9/5): Cozy clean rooms, friendly owners, I recommend it - very friendly staff owner, doing their best to make us feel comfortable. the breakfast was really nice! bedrooms clean and cozy! Note that, if you would like to eat in the restaurant, you shall inform them a day earlier. I am sure they would be happy to help but at the day of our arrival we weren't able to order.

• Melina (10/5): Exceptional - I booked Phillipeio because a friend of mine who lives in Krinides recommended highly staying there and I was not disappointed at all. Panagiotis and Marianna have been welcoming me very cordially and I felt very comfortable from the start even though it was my first time in Greece. They offered me not only historical knowledge about Krinides but also help at all times and I was also always welcomed to spend time with them. They are very special hosts and I am looking forward to seeing them the next time I’ll be here. The hotel and scenery are very beautiful. The rooms are equipped with everything you need, are very clean and the WiFi connection was very good. Overall I would rate my stay 10/10 and I would also HIGHLY recommend everyone staying at their place. They made my vacation even more special. You can see and feel that they are passionate hosts who care deeply about your well being. I want to thank them both because if it wasn’t for them my stay would not have been as great as it was. Please book with them if you want the authentic greek hospitality. I will ensure you, you won’t regret it.

Breakfast was something great, a lot of choices - but not buffet, the coffee was good, the gems were homemade and the grapes one was delicious. The owners were very friendly and happy to help you with everything, great job! Near the hotel it is also a good restaurant where you can eat dinner. The hotel is near Kavala and to get to the beach you drive half an hour (beautiful beaches with beach bar if you want or wild ones).

• Scarlat (8/5): Very good - The hospitality of the employees and the delicious homemade jam received on departure. The view was very beautiful, and the stay was quiet, the hotel being located in a quiet area. The fact that there were insect repellent devices throughout the room, although the reservation assumed the existence of a child in the room, who could have gotten hold of those devices. The bed linens looked quite old or worn and the room walls could have looked better.

• Claudiu (10/5): Great staff, great view, excellend breakfast. - The hotel is located on a hill, overlooking the village. The view alone is worth all the money. The rooms are spacious enough, very clean, with all the amenities. Shower, TV, hair drier, balcony, air conditioning, etc.. It seems that the hotel if family-owned and operated, and the staff is very friendly. The restaurant is only opend from 6PM until 22-23, and the food is excellent. Especially the breakfast, which is home-made, with fresh and tasty ingredients. Most likely we will visit again and recommend to friends. Honestly we liked everything. But the only downside that I can find to this hotel is that it's pretty far from Kavala and from the beaches, so if you plan on staying there for the beaches, you should know that you need a car each day. On the upside, the roads are in good condition and the view is very nice while driving.

Breakfast for two could have feed easy four people . The infrastructure needs work but definitely was compensated by this great hotel …

• Leslie (10/5): A perfect place to relax after visiting the nearby archaeological sites - Breakfast was wonderful, and it was delivered to us in the beautiful dining room on a tea cart that carried a full selection of eggs, pastries, cold cuts, etc., and accompanied by homemade fig preserves. Coffee and tea were both brought to our table. The view from the dining room is gorgeous. We ended up having dinner in the dining room for 2 of the 3 nights we were there. That was also quite good. The owners were lovely and really took care of us. Our room was modern, comfortable, and had a stunning view. I would definitely go back! Can't think of a thing!

• Ananda (10/5): Lovely hotel with a great location - We only stayed for one night in order to see Philippi. If we had it to do over we would stay here longer and see more of the area. The breakfast was fantastic, the room was spotless and comfortable, and the view was spectacular. If you stay, make sure you ask the owner about the archaeological site and the area - he was a wealth of information for us. Parking for the car was convenient and easy, and it was a very quick, short drive down to the archaeological site and museum.

But the owner made the stay, with a passion for the area and history. Willing to sit down and give helpful tips planning your day and even places to go that you won't find in guidebooks.
