• Corrine (3/5): Poor - No hot water, was told to drink more then I wouldn't notice. Bit of a boys hangout club in common lounge for friends/owners. Intimidating at times. This business has been unfortunately sold to someone new, so please state this on your site. Past reviews do not apply, unfortunately. Now called Belmond Hotel, Ella. Meals were not very good, and missing items were not replaced with something else. This was for prepaid breakfasts. Our drivers' and travel guides' accommodation was not good. This was pre booked for 2 nights. They were told no accommidation after 1 night and told to leave after we arrived home after dinner. Very poor.

• Polly (8/5): Very good - Property has really lovely views over Ella, rooms are spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was HUGE and delicious and you can have it at whatever time you like. It’s only a 5 minute tuk tuk from Ella town so location was great. Staff were very friendly and helpful in sorting out transport for day trips etc.

• Barbora (1/5): Smelly and dirty place - The room was full of flies, even dead ones. The smell of towel was so terrible, not possible to use it. The floor of bathroom was full of water. Overal, terrible experience.
• Sandeep (10/5): A warm family running a high quality homestay little outside Ella town. - A family runs this homestay about 2 Kms from Ella town. Very nice warm people. Clean large rooms, clean linen. Not many amenities in the room, but that can be expected from a homestay. Fast wifi. Gave us coffee on arrival. Very good breakfast in the morning. I would stay here again. This is NOT in Ella town. The approach road is narrow and not great. If you want to stay in the hustle bustle of the town, this is not for you. Ideal for an overnight stay after spending the entire day in Ella.

• Becker (8/5): Very good - Quiet place. Family home. Rooms clean. Little bit outside, but with a Tuc Tuc easy to go to the centre of Ella. Friendly management, willing to help and support you. Traditional breakfast. On demand everything possible. Even diner. So I will come back with my family. Thanks for everything and the massage for my legg. Highly recommended for that price! Nothing. We spoke about the hot water supply. They will take care.

• Sujan (9/5): Ideal for a big group - The view, location and staff were fantastic! Included was a basic but very tasty traditional breakfast!
• Michiel (8/5): Friendly family home a short distance from touristy Ella, ideal for walkers - Very friendly family; quiet location a short distance from backpackers Ella; basic shops within walking distance. Located on a ridge above the valley bottom it makes a good spot for walking through the rice fields and tea plantations; hop on one of the frequent buses for Ella or other interesting places nearby. Tasty curry and rice. We booked a 'villa' with kitchen, but got a big family room with bathroom ensuite but the kitchen located elsewhere in the building, so we had less privacy than we expected.

• Meena (10/5): Comfortable, very home like - Extremely helpful host and family. They happily prepared vegetarian dishes for me. They were very eager to make sure my stay was comfortable. Even without AC the room was at a comfortable temperature. And very good views from the terrace. Conveniently located. Next time visit with family and friends as this homestay can accommodate a large group easily with multiple rooms and spacious parking.
• Koen (10/5): Exceptional - Justin the host and his family were really helpful from start to finish. Justin picked us up from the station and explained everything about Ella. The typical Sri Lankan breakfast we had was very very nice and tasty and so was the cooking class. Justin helped us with transportation to arugam Bay as well and was in one word the perfect host. There was also a relatively cheap laundry service. We would recommend everyone to stay here while visiting Ella!

Host is very helpful, even help us with making bonfire because of our national holiday Novruz. Will stay in this house again. Everything is okay

• Gintautė (10/5): Best Homestay in Sri lanka! - I can confidently say that this accommodation is the best I have ever stayed in! First of all, we didn't feel like we are in a hotel here, we felt like we were visiting our family members - every member of the host family was very hospitable, kind, friendly and good-hearted. It was nice to talk and spend time with Justins family. Secondly, the location itself is simply great. Even though we were very close to Ella, we were able to enjoy the beauty and peace of nature in this house and we just loved it! Another thing that made us very happy was the food. We had breakfast and dinner here for the whole 10 days - everything was extremely tasty, the portions were large, and the variety of food surprised us every time we sat down at the table. Here we got the most delicious food in all of Sri Lanka! Also, the spaces in the house are arranged perfectly - here we found wonderful terrace where you can spend cozy evenings, large balconies to enjoy the views of the mountains, large and comfortable sitting room. The bedroom itself was also very spacious and comfortable. In addition, what made us happy was the perfect cleanliness in the bedroom, showers and common rooms 👏👏👏 Justin's hospitality is a good example for all hosts! Thank you very much!

Rooms were very comfortable and spacious. cooking class was excellent and the food was the best we’ve eaten. Breakfast was also amazing, lots of delicious local dishes. Little bit out off the beaten track which we love. Only a short tuktuk ride from bars/restaurants.

The owner is a nice man, he made us a large pot of coffee in the evening. In the morning we had a delicious breakfast. Also the owner helped with the transfer to Una. Everything is great, I recommend. All liked it
