- Enrique (5/5): - The staff at the restaurant was amazing excellent service there was a problem for the steak but it was good service I was happy I asked for help with a issue in the room but no one came for me for those 4 nights There was rats in my ceiling in the kitchen roof and with this virus going on me and my fiance were not happy because it disappears in the day and only at night so we were not happy that the rat kept us up all night, so they must please put rat poison in the roof and get rid of them and the cleaning lady's must also do effort in cleaning beds I mean really the effort wasn't there but that didn't bother me,what bothered me was the rats that made us awake and worried especially with this virus thing

- Jacques (1/5): I will not go back soon! - The resort is beautiful and very scenic. The Administrative staff is rude, uninformed, very temperamental and not helpful at all! My bookings were done poorly, our unit was cleaned, however, the dust was lying on the bedside tables, The bedroom light does not work, the bedside table lights do not make contact, therefore works, and then not, the top bathroom lights is not working, it goes on and then starts flickering, then just goes off. You need to pay a R300 breakage deposit, but when you book into the unit, there is already some of the glasses missing from the cabinet. When reporting this, they just say that they will make a note, however, don't think they will. The breakfast staff and catering staff is friendly and the breakfast was nice.
- Jacques (1/5): Scenic with Horrific Staff - Scenic I called the resort to make sure the unit I was booking was wheelchair friendly. On arrival, we were booked into a unit with 6 steps... Not wheelchair friendly. Then the staff told us that we made the booking and that they did advise us thereof? Why would we book wheelchair friendly accommodation with steps? The Resort then moved us to another unit, where the door does not even lock, no kettle and unfriendly staff! Not on Olifants River Lodge! We travelled very far to be at your resort, and this is the way guests are treated.

- Maphumzane Stanley (1/5): Horrible first night is a wnedywood bungalow - I was assigned and wendywood house that I did not book. When I raised the matter and sent my compaint with Bookings.Com, I was offered another room from Tuesday 28 April 2026 to 01 May 2026. I was told that I either go back to the Wendywood house and I opted to check out on 01 May 2026. I will never visit this place again and would not recommend it to anyone. My experience was absolutely terrible. I was placed in Wendy Wood House, which I never booked, and when I complained to Bookings.com, they barely tried to fix things. They just moved me to another room from Tuesday, 28 April 2026, to 01 May 2026 and had to pay extra for that but then forced me back to Wendy Wood House on 01 May because they were fully booked. I decided to leave on 01 May 2026 instead—this place is so disappointing that I will never return, and I strongly advise everyone to avoid it. The restaurant menu was a joke, with most items unavailable. Without a doubt, this was the worst and most distressing holiday I have ever had.

- Karabo (8/5): Absolutely recommend for families. - I loved how family friendly it is, lots of activities for the kids, lovely clean pools and the food at the restaurant is good and reasonably priced. The rooms are okay and the beds are comfortable. The cleaning service wasn’t as efficient as we would’ve liked. Seemed like there was only one lady cleaning the rooms and she came in quite late to clean the rooms. Maybe the facility could invest in more cleaning staff. And there was a bit of dust in the rooms

The accommodation is not great, beds are fine but the kitchen has very little things to use to dish up or storage, the appliances are very old but working and the doors to the doors can barely close. Patio furniture was broken and very old as well as some of the living room furniture.

- Andrew (2/5): Amazing location, but room facilities, cleanliness and service are shocking to say the least. - The location is amazing! beautiful secluded lodge by the river, very well maintained grounds. Peaceful Cleanliness. The rooms were very dirty and clearly not cleaned after the previous guests checked out. There was leftover food in the microwave, food wrappers left in the room, dead cockroaches in the kitchen, the bathroom was very dirty and clearly not cleaned. The TV didn't work, only to find out on the second day, that the remotes were swapped with another room. Most importantly and most alarming is that, after 6pm, there are no staff members to assist with anything, and calls to the "emergency" number go answered. All the above ruined an otherwise amazing location.

- Desiree (8/5): - The whole place was amazing, the activities and facilities were great. The villa we stayed in the bathrooms were not good. The water from the shower was all over the floor. The microwave in the kitchen was a hazard rusty. You can see the bottom from the rust, and they still kept it for guest to use it shakes violently when you try to warm the food 🫨🫨🫨

- alexia (2/5): - There's a river to look at. We’ve stayed at other Dream Resorts properties before, which is why this experience was particularly disappointing. Unfortunately, this property falls far below the standard we’ve come to expect and, in our view, shouldn’t be positioned as a typical Dream Resorts experience. The villa was poorly equipped, there were no bowls at all, not even in the restaurant. I ordered a creamy pasta which was served on a flat plate, making it impractical and messy to eat. Basic functionality was also an issue: the air conditioning was not working, several lights were out, and the upstairs bedroom drawer was broken and came off completely. There were also no two-point plug connections, which made charging devices difficult. The bed was uncomfortably small , I am 5ft6 and my feet hung off the edge unless I slept pressed up against the wall. The bedding felt cheap (microfibre blankets in what is meant to be a 3-star offering), and even the toilet paper was 1-ply. The mattress was extremely hard, and my husband left with a stiff neck that required treatment. The heated pool was also not as advertised, it was certainly not close to 30°C. In addition, there was a persistent, unpleasant smell coming from the bathroom drains in our villa, and visible mould on the ceilings, which is unacceptable from a hygiene perspective. To add to the frustration, breakfast billing at the restaurant was handled poorly. We were incorrectly charged and then told to manually calculate what we believed we owed and pay that amount. This raised concerns, especially as the final amount paid did not reflect clearly on the receipt, creating suspicion around how the balance was handled. The kids jumping pillow was deflated all weekend. Just subpar honestly Overall, this was a disappointing stay with multiple basic shortcomings that need urgent attention.

The only problem we encountered was the last 15 minutes of the trip is a dirt road which was a bit difficult to navigate through with a small car. You can have a seat at the bar while kids are playing at the games or enjoying the outdoors. The kitchen stuff was absolutely amazing (waiter and waitress) We had breakfast and dinner at the restaurant, unfortunately for both days we had to wait for dinner for almost 2 hours and what makes the situation worse was that the food was not up to standard. Maybe if you can introduce buffet for dinner to save time. The menu can be organized based on the number reservation. I think the chef lost passion for the food

- Iris (8/5): - Die Unterkunft liegt sehr idyllisch am Fluss und die Aussenanlagen sind sehr gepflegt. Es wird aktuell gerade überall repariert und renoviert. Unser Rondawel hatte ein renoviertes Hauptzimmer. Das Bad war noch renovierungsbefürftig, aber in Ordnung. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam, insbesondere in dem ansprechenden Restaurant. Preus/Leistung stimmt hier. Man sollte wissen, dass die Strasse zur Lodge auf gut 8km erneuert wird. Es ist eine recht langwierige und ruckelige Anreise dadurch. Ich mag mir nicht vorstellen, wie es bei Regen ist.

- Boiki (1/5): The overall experience was below average. The WiFi issue was really an inconvenience. The appliances in the cabins also - 1. The scenery and the staff at the restaurant was friendly and welcoming. 1. The WiFi didn’t work at our cabin, we raised this over 3 times with different staff and it wasn’t resolved, we even texted and called reception and still didn’t get assistance. 2. The water from the cabin we used for the shower drained very slowly and it even looked like it got stuck. 3. We ordered curry from the restaurant and the chicken seemed off (rotten) 4. The gravel road to get to the location is extremely bad, I have to take my car for alignment and balancing. 5. The outdoor pools need some cleaning and maintenance.

- michelle (6/5): One night stay - We felt welcomed but not comfortable. For days prior to check in we tried to communicate a request. Upon arrival no one was able to answer to the request. I was left with luggage under the lapa from morning to noon, even though the unit was available to put it in. It was thoroughly explained but not attended to. There was a group of young boys for an 18th birthday. They got extremely drunk and by 20h00 went into the hot pool and swore everyone, adults and kids. The foul language and bad behavior continued even after the security asked them to leave. My youngest boys started crying of fear and we had to leave the pool early. Upon arrival at our unit we discovered they're our neighbors. They screamed and partied in front of our unit, kicking rugny balls all over even into the river. Again we had to go in and lock up. We were only there for one night but feel disappointed in the behaviour. We were even asked bh sevurity to lower our music and we reported to him that its They neighbour's.

- Mbazima (9/5): - It is a nice place to relax. ..very beautiful place The road before you get there it is gravel and it is not nice they should have mentioned that i this..we were using a small car ..so I recommend coming here with a bigger car

- Pheladi (5/5): - Scenery in nature with river and mountain view Poor maintenance - bath is yellowish cream and outdated, no soap holder in the shower, unit smelled like cigarettes, sofas old, mattress uncomfortable. Stayed in the 2 bed, 2 bath unit
- Favoured1 (8/5): Great stay lovely facilities - Loved the resutraant staff they were super friendly and helpful The indoor pool was also a great plus The gravel road to get to the lodge it was long and quiet rough not built for a private car
