• Kathrin (10/5): Stunning, traditional, cozy! - It is a very cozy, traditional stay in an excellent location for nature and star lovers. The hot spring Onsen is open 24hours and has such a nice charm and vibe. I really love how that stay felt! The owner is extremely nice, helpful and sweet. There were communication problems at some point on our side, he arranged a translated phone call so we can get an answer! The value for price was nice. I would whole heartedly recommend this place to everyone, but especially to other tourists who actually want to immerse themselves into real Japan! Nothing, all of us loved everything

• ZHEN (9/5): 山中的一处简洁的旅馆 - 在山里面，如果不开车的话一定一定要看清楚bus的时间，错过末班车需要支付高额的士费。附近只有几家小店，营业时间也很短 温泉很好，虽然只有小小的2间，但是泉质很棒，对旅途劳累的人来说是极大的慰藉。 氛围像青旅，大部分都是自助式，前台很热情，一看就是登山爱好者 天气好的时候 晚上可以看到星空，但是要走一段路离开路灯区域。 价格有点小贵

• Liz (10/5): - The guesthouse was absolutely gorgeous and in a stunning part of Japan. We rented a car in Matsumoto and used the guesthouse as a base for visiting Kamikochi. The hotel is bright and cheery. The rooms are a generous size. The futons comfortable. Perhaps the best thing of all was the private onsen. The dining options around are a little limited- very few are open at night. There are more soba lunch options but we were out walking. We went to both Abbey Road and Springbank which were fine.

Our host is extremely attentive, generous, and welcoming; he knows how to make you feel comfortable in his guesthouse. The rooms are simple but very pleasant, the private onsen is a dream, and the location of the place is ideal for staying in the region and going on beautiful hikes. We highly recommend it! Thank you again for everything.

When we forgot something in the room he was very kind and sent it to our next hotel free of charge. The place feels like home away from home. The common room at the first floor has many board and card games for the entire family and we had a lot of fun playing. There are also free beverages and snacks. The location is very quite and the sky are beautiful at night

• Gabriel (9/5): Rejuvenating mountain getaway. - This is a superb place to stay as a base for adventures around Norikura Kogen. It is warm, inviting, and comfortable. The proprietor is friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and well-equipped, and the private onsen experience is spectacular. We rented a car to get there and there was plenty of parking for us. We were on tatami, but there are spare pillows available for extra padding. Not much to complain about. Sometimes other guests were loud early in the morning, or messy in the common areas, but there's not much to be done about it. Just a note and not a complaint - there really are sparse food options up near the guesthouse so bring some food. There is a shared fridge in the common area to store items.

• Ruzha (9/5): Wonderful Guesthouse - What a wonderful guest house! We booked it very last minute for part two of our Christmas getaway, and we truly enjoyed it. Everything was really clean and cozy, with quirky decorations all throughout. The owner was very friendly and we chatted for awhile in the evening by the cozy stove. The onsen was fantastic, we even ended up buying some onsen powder to take home. This guesthouse is really close to a fantastic ski area, and I am looking forward to coming back and staying there again! We had a little bit of an issue with the heater that kept beeping with a strange warning and were not sure if it was safe. Also, the bathroom is shared, even though on the Booking.com listing it says that it is private.

• Alyaa (10/5): Nice stay - What I love the most is guest can use the shared bathroom with hot spring water privately. Depending on the timing you might need to wait for others to finish but we were lucky not many guests use them during the night.
• Prangtip (10/5): - Very cozy. This place makes you feel like home. The bedroom is nice and clean. The common room, where you can put your food in the fridge, provides free coffee/tea. It is a shared bathroom that you can put “in use” sign for your own private use. The staff is so kind. He also recommended the nearby place to see the autumn leaves. Not only the staff but also the other guests are very kind and friendly.
