• Kirstine (6/5): Det var ok, men vil nok forsøge at finde et andet sted en anden gang i Bath. - Det lå centralt ift. byen. Morgenmaden var ok god, især første dag. Det var noget slidt i kanterne. Og der var lidt trafikstøj. Udsigten var elendig… Og så lugtede der meget mærkeligt på vores værelse, da vi ankom, men det forsvandt efter vi lod vinduerne stå åbne under hele vores ophold.

• Anthea (9/5): Very enjoyable stay. - Didn't try breakfast, but had an evening meal that was delicious. Very clean comfortable room. Room was very warm. Couldn't open windows, we had to use a fan the whole time. Water ran cold.

The hotel is literally avross the road from the train station next to the new shopping centre and a stroll from the Abbey. Nothing - did not have any problems. I am positive the staff would have solved anything I needed but I had a good experience

The staff gave us the best food recommendations and were so accommodating especially when we needed to store our bags there after check out. I would highly recommend this place! • Deborah (6/5): Excellent location doesn’t justify high cost for tired and uncomfortable room - The location is perfect, across the road from both train and bus stations and on the edge of the city centre. Availability of parking was a reason for booking but it wasn’t clear that this was charged as an extra on the booking website, which meant the overall cost was quite high. The decor was “tired”, in need of a coat of paint, although it was clean. The bed was not very comfortable, like sleeping on a trampoline! The pillows were awful and I regretted not bringing my own. Our room was on the top floor and there was a pigeon infestation in the roof which was noisy and disconcerting. I have had much cheaper and more comfortable stays in other Bath hotels and wouldn’t choose this one again, despite the excellent location

• Mark (7/5): Located directly opposite Bath station. - Convenient location. Nice staff. Was able to leave luggage whilst waiting from my room. Pretty reasonable (for Bath) price for a single room. Room very hot and noisy (some mechanical-electrical equipment outside that ran all night). So not a great night's sleep.

• Veronica (8/5): A very pleasant stay in a conveniently located hotel which provides good customer service. - The location opposite the railway station is excellent if you are travelling by train. A nice looking historic building Room was comfortable, a little noise as it was directly overlooking the station area but not excessive. There is a bar and brasserie, we ate in the brasserie in the evening and the good was good. Also good service at breakfast. Staff were very helpful and polite. One feature we appreciated was that there was a free luggage storage facility available after check-out which made our second day exploring Bath much better unburdened by lots of luggage, it was easy to pick up our bags on our way back to the station to take the journey home. Very little. Lots of people milling around the general area on Saturday night but that was not really the fault of the hotel.

• Debra (9/5): Both days I used bus or train transportation which was very handy from this hotel location. - Room worked well for a single person and the location was excellent. Shower was a little too hot and I couldn't get it cooler. Might have been user error.

• Jose Ignacio (7/5): Mucho ruido, una lastima. - La ubicación es perfecta para poder visitar la ciudad. El desayuno esta bien y en general los servicios que da el Hotel. Lo peor de todo es el ruido de la calle que se escucha dentro de la habitación, no hay prácticamente insonorización. Al estar pegado a la estación de tren, un semáforo con el pitido de paso para los invidentes, los coches al pasar y la propia gente. Es muy difícil conciliar el sueno y descansar. Una lastima porque el hotel en si esta bien.

• Marion (9/5): J'aime cet hôtel et j'y reviendrais avec plaisir. - Je reviens toujours dans cet hôtel avec plaisir à cause de son charme un peu surannée, plutôt ambiance "country-house" qu'hôtel. Les chambres sont grandes, les lits confortables, et il y a un radiateur chauffant dans la salle de bains. Il est tout près de la gare et de la gare autoroutière, très pratique pour rejoindre Londres ou Bristol, mais tout proche du centre ville. Il y a un bar avec fauteuils et un salon. On y mange très bien, car tout est cuit à la demande, il n'y a rien de préchauffé. Le menu du petit déjeuner est copieux et vous êtes servi à table. Un luxe ! Rien

The bathroom was very modern and it was spotless, my bedroom was done in the period of the hotel again was spotless . The tea tray had anything you need and more including filter coffee I thought was a lovely touch. The bathroom had plenty of towels and shampoo etc, including a rubber slip mat for the bath for taking a shower which I used again a good idea. The shower had plenty of hot water when I used it I didn’t experience any problems with the water temperature there was a sign to say it’s a old hotel so it could take time to get hot water again ,a nice touch to let people know. Breakfast was lovely freshly cooked for you and the staff in the restaurant lovely. The receptionist on arrival was a sheer joy a credit to your hotel lovely nothing was to much trouble after all the reception is your first port of call. Being a 3 star it should be a four star hotel ,the place is outstanding

I didnt catch her name but the receptionist lady was so kind, she and the owner, Tim, took pity on us and did a deal on a room that was luckily available that night. They also waived the parking charge for us. We had to leave very early the next day and they were kind enough to make us a breakfast takeaway too. Thanks both, we really appreciated it. Btw, we both got personal best times on our half marathon and 10k 🥳 Nothing

• ian (6/5): Clean, convenient location but overpriced and noisy and very tired rooms! - Location Road noise very early in morning, creaking floors, noisey plumbing and thin walls u could hear water running from showers into baths( shower baths not showers and our room did not even have wardrobe just hooks. Partially repaired ceiling above bed! staff in brassiere kept rushing us to choose order within 5 minutes of arriving and food very average! Breakfast staff where great as was breakfast selection and quality.
• Miguel (7/5): 1800s Hotel with Extra Complimentary Goodies - Great service. Loved the Goodies in the room, cookies, hot chocolate, chocolate, water bottles, coffee. I know there is only so much retrofitting that can be done to rooms for this 1800s hotel, so the extras that are provided help make the stay more enjoyable. Thank you. I prefer a modern hotel, so the retrofitting of the shower, closet, sink, no good bathroom ventilation and no HVAV isn’t my style but my significant other enjoys the older feel of Hotels.

• Roxanne (9/5): Lovely staff - nothing was to much trouble - hotel was perfect & central for us. - Breakfast menu - was a little misleading for us - as it said gammon - but it was a slice of ham. :( We know gammon as a thick piece of pork. Room was lovely although the seagulls were vocal. Which is hard to put right. My only moan was the door handle to the bathroom - for some reason I kept catching my finger - which was annoying & it hurt. As above the bathroom door handle.

They had thought of everything you could need, tea, coffee (including filter coffee), biscuits, water, toiletries. The location was excellent, just across road from train station and a few minutes walk into the centre. Temperature was too hot, had to open window all day to cool it down.

• Julieta (8/5): Alojamiento práctico y con encanto - La ubicación fue muy práctica. El edificio es histórico y tiene encanto. La habitación era toda exterior y luminosa. Y sobre todo, el personal de recepción muy amable y simpático, no dieron buenas recomendaciones locales. Se podrían mejorar algunas cosas de mantenimiento, pintura de la habitación etc.

Die guten Bewertungen können wir nicht nachvollziehen und schon gar nicht gut heissen! Es ist nicht mal 3 Sterne wert!

• Shacklock (8/5): Royal stay was great - l traveled by train the hotel was right across from the station close and in easy walking distance of where i wanted to be. Breakfast was good plentiful and porridge was hot and creamy. I was only there for two nights so wasn't bothered about having my room cleaned housekeeper left extra supplies outside my room. Also Gabriel was help when i realised i had book wrong day for my return journey a day later which l managed to sort. Ordered a double room had two single duvets on i wanted a double one but that was quickly sorted

• ELENA (8/5): Un hotel ben situat a Bath. - Hotel ben ubicat a Bath, davant mateix de l'estació de tren (però sense tenir molèsties de soroll) i a prop del centre comercial de la ciutat. Disposa de restaurant al mateix hotel, on vam esmorçar i he de dir que va ser molt bo, encara que una mica lents a l'hora de servir-lo. El personal molt atent. Vaig demanar que m'arreglessin una cortina de l'habitació que s'havia despenjat una mica i no tapava prou bé la llum del carrer a la nit, i al cap de molt poca estona ja tenia al responsable de manteniment que va venir a veure què passava i ho va deixar arreglat al cap de poca estona. Això és molt d'agrair. També el fet que cada dia reponien els cafés, xocolata, galetes, aigua, etc. que hi havia gratuïts a l'habitació. L'hotel necessita una inversió en el mobiliari de les habitacions i en actualitzar els banys. Sobre tot, cal posar endolls en llocs accessibles, perquè no n'hi havia cap endoll al bany per l'assecador del cabell, ni tampoc a l'habitació a prop d'un mirall. Només tenia un a prop del terra i va ser molt incòmode aixugar-me el cabell degut a que l'assecador tenia el cable molt curt. Detalls com aquest fan que tinguis una estada confortable o no.

• Mandy (5/5): Very disappointed in how much we paid and what we got - Location. I didn’t think it was good value for money. We paid £224 per night. The room was not as advertised and as the pictures on the website. It was a superior room I thought I was booking. The hotel was very tired looking.

• Julia (8/5): Nice room in a perfect location! - The location is perfect--right across from the train station! And then it's easy to walk everywhere in town from here. The staff were super friendly and the room was very nicely decorated. There were even little extras in the room like chocolate and water, which I really appreciated. Everything was pretty great. I wish I could have made the lights a little brighter in my room, and it was a fairly small room, but that was to be expected, since it was just a one person room. There really wasn't anything wrong at all. I would definitely stay here again.
• Michael (5/5): Overall probably a 7/10 - Staff pleasent enough for the most part. Room needs updating, it wasn't too much of an issue for us but wallpaper peeling from ceiling and inside the wardrobe was very bad. We felt it was a little pricey for the current condition of our room. Bar area was nice enough.
• Anthony (10/5): A lovely, comfortable stay for my birthday and a very much appreciated the room upgrade. We will return later in the yea - Loved the location. So convenient for the railway station and minutes away from the city centre. The property was perfect for our needs. Staff were polite and friendly. We found it perfect for older couples as it was quiet . The hotel is is a beautiful Victorian building so if you like modern, boutique hotels with all the mod cons The Royal is not for you as some people would call it dated but we found it perfect. Clean, comfortable beds, proper bed linen, plenty of storage space, a generous complimentary tray with teas, proper coffee, biscuits, bottle of water. Towels and bath robes in the bathroom. They serve a really good breakfast with both a help yourself area and a full table service for your hot breakfast. Proper leaf tea and cafetière coffee served as hot drinks. There is also a nice bar area. There was nothing we didn’t like but if I have to make an observation some areas could do with a re-paint as we noticed a huge stain on the bar ceiling which was obviously from a water leak and maybe some attention to the windows. But these are very small imperfections which doesn’t take anything away from this lovely hotel.

• Belén (8/5): - El hotel está al lado de la estación de tren (nos venía muy bien para movernos a otras ciudades) y a su vez tambíen muy cerca del centro de la ciudad. El desayuno estaba muy bueno, productos de buffet a lo que hay que añadir el plato principal que te lo hacían al momento y a tú gusto.

• Amanda (8/5): Nice stay at the Royal Hotel in Bath - Great location. Parking could be booked. Room was quiet, clean and comfortable with good tea and coffee etc in the room. TV didn't work but staff were very helpful in trying to get it partially working. It didn't spoil our stay as we hadn't visited to watch TV!
