- Jeff (10/5): Great staff and they looked after us 👍🏻 - Very clean It was all good
- Linda and David (9/5): - Staff were really friendly and welcoming. Room was nice and quiet and bed was comfortable.
- Hew (8/5): Friendly staff good food but quite expensive. Great location. - The staff were super, the breakfasts great and the rooms well appointed. The fact that in spite of booking the hotel three months ago we were assigned a room up two steep sets of stairs. We are both in our 80’s and found the stairs a real problem. We were staying three nights but nothing could be done to find a room on a ground or first floor. If you are booking this hotel make sure you insist on a ground or first floor if you find stairs difficult.
- Hari (7/5): Very pleasant - Ideal location in the centre of Castletown, very good transport services to all parts of the IOM, food was good with excellent cooked breakfast. Staff were friendly and helpful, would stay again. Hotel is a little tired. Old building, poor plumbing but everything works! There are plans for a major refurbish.

- Johnny Halliday (8/5): Warm and welcoming stay in the centre of town - Great staff, friendly hotel in the centre of town. Dated fixtures and fittings, but the same could be said of the entire island, which is part of the charm.
- Melissa (10/5): Perfect - The food in the restaurant was delicious and the staff were very kind and helpful. They found storage for our 5 bikes and gave directions and ideas for walks.
- Charlotte (10/5): - Good breakfast
- Kim (7/5): The staff were amazing very friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay at The George again. Thank you . - The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. We had a meal in the restaurant which was lovely. My breakfast was inedible. I had eggs Benedict which I couldn’t eat the eggs were rock hard and I couldn’t cut the muffin it was too hard.

- Andrea (5/5): - The breakfast and room refreshments were exceptional We couldn't get any hot water in the shower and we're told it was because they had a large family in who were obviously showering at the same time we wanted to!!!!!! It was looked at but unfortunately not fixed. We have stayed here about 5 times now and never had a problem before

- Henrietta (8/5): Good pub. Nice breakfast and staff but breakfast coffee poor - Good looking building in the Square
- Richard (1/5): Dreadful. - Its location The staff were un professional, breakfast was a joke and had to wait 20 mins for it. The hotel was tired and run down, all toilet brushes were obviously filthy and needed replacing.
- Howard (10/5): The George Hotel is perfect no issues - Really good great hotel Nothing the hotelier was a lovely bloke and sec had a good stay
- Phil (8/5): - Room was spacious with a large opening window. Bed was comfortable and shower good. Breakfast very good Small area of grout needs repair in the shower
- Lawrence (10/5): Fabulous place. Friendly Staff, Great food. Highly recommend. - Fabulous place. Friendly Staff, Great food. Highly recommend.
Beautiful town, it's lovely by the harbour and looking our to sea. Great base for exploring the Isle of Man. It was all good.
- Mike (8/5): Würde auf jeden Fall wieder buchen 👍 - Klasse Lage direkt gegenüber Castel Rushen und auch sonst alles gut👍

- Peter (2/5): - O’Kell’s Inns Ltd. should be ashamed—this so-called four-star hotel would not pass one star!
Our room was dirty, our shower and vents were mouldy, and badly maintained. Curtains hung unattached, the window casing was broken and had spikes along the sill.
Housekeeping is unreliable or absent. Everything is tired and stained.
The Management ignores guests and, when challenged, resorts to hostility.
The dining room is filthy: sticky tables, broken chairs, and an expired fire certificate is on display (dated 2019).
This is a health and safety risk, not a four-star hotel.
As a seasoned traveller, I can say plainly: AVOID this place. It is unfit for its rating, and, with the exception of a lovely member of staff named Lucy and her colleague (I don’t know her name) this should be an embarrassment to the Isle of Man’s Tourist Board.
- Malcolm (10/5): Hotel on bus route and in good position to tour island. - Comfortable bed, strong shower, lovely food, good people All really nice for the price hotel in good spot to tour island
- Alla (8/5): A great base for exploring north Isle of Man - Great location right on Castletown central square. Spacious well equipped room. Pub food good. Easy parking.
- Debbie (9/5): -
- Metzger (8/5): -
- Allan (7/5): Ok for a short stay - Great location in the centre of town . It’s a busy pub . Basic room - whole place really needs a makeover.
- gerard (9/5): -
- Megan (10/5): Fabulous stay at the George - The staff were really friendly and could not do enough for us. They were always on hand and service was excellent. The car park was a little small.
- Clive (6/5): - .
- Kev (4/5): Adequate but lacking in the detail. - The location is very good with shops and bars all within a nice walking distance.
The car park at the rear of the hotel is also a good bonus. The hotel overall is very tired and in need of a complete refurbishment and deep clean.
- Nick (10/5): Great stay - Lovely Isle Of Man pub situated in the historic centre of Castletown. Friendly staff and great food. Highly recommended.
- George (10/5): -
- Vanessa (10/5): - My stay was great. Enjoyed the breakfast. Staff were excellent. Great location. Hope to stay again next year. Thanks
- Zachary (9/5): Book now, stop looking, if you want to stay in Castletown, just book the George and enjoy your stay. - Location is excellent. The members of the staff are friendly. The complementary breakfast is delicious. Would absolutely book again for future stays. It it was it is, I'm American, I like having A/C and elevators, but would not trade having them if it meant upsetting the charm or location, loved the hotel as is.
- andrew (9/5): -
- Susan (7/5): -
- Jonathan (6/5): Basic but okay single room - Great location. Tea and coffee facilities in the room. Shower was good. Decoration in the rooms was tired and not lovely. Room was small. No closing clasp on window to keep room secure - my window opened on to a large fire escape.
- Marie (9/5): - Location lovely. Very lively area in evenings Breakfast was slow
- Rob (10/5): Great people good food great location - Great location all of the staff were fantastic food was very good breakfast was great Some snagging needed here and there alcohol prices were high compared to other places in town
- James (10/5): -
- Chiara (10/5): -
- Sydney (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely room, clean and comfortable. Staff were great and helpful, and food was good too.
- Christopher (9/5): Superb - Friendly, helpful, and efficient staff. Parking could be a little clearer.
- Steven (9/5): Superb -
- Sueper (10/5): A perfect place to be based on the Isle of Man - This place is wonderful. A true neighbourhood pub that's dog friendly with great bar food. The bedroom was amazing with a view of the castle and a small balcony overlooking the square. It was huge and featured a shower room ensuite with toiletries. The bus stop is just outside the hotel and with a transit pass for the train and buses, you don't need a car at all. The train station is a 10 minute walk through the town and will take you to Douglas or Port Erin every hour. Nothing
- Andy (10/5): - The staff were excellent always helpful and willing to help too, food was well above the standard of other Hotels, and the rooms were well kept and cosy.
We were so impressed with the Hotel we've booked to stay again in September.. the only negative was that there was no lift, which made things slightly difficult for us but manageable
Thank you to everyone who made our stay so pleasant .
- Kathy (7/5): Good -
- Charlotte (6/5): Pleasant -
- Janet (8/5): Very good -
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alan (6/5): The George was adequate for our purposes but nothing special. - Nice location in the centre of Castletown The whole place was scruffier than on our previous stay last year and is vastly overpriced at ÂŁ1120 for a week in a dim room with un-matching furniture and a huge wall a few feet across from the window giving no direct view. The food was average pub grub and some of the staff were deliberately obnoxious.
- Jane (9/5): We spent two lovely nights at the George hotel. - The location was excellent and staff was very friendly. Food was very good and portions were huge. Room was comfortable and pretty quiet.
Bus stop is right next to hotel. No elevator.
- Alison (10/5): - Small carpark at rear but always a space. Friendly helpful staff. Good choice of food for breakfast. Good bar food menu. Great location for visiting the whole island.
- Paul (10/5): - Spent a long weekend here recently. Location is ideal. Staff really lovely. Food great, and plenty of parking to the rear. We will be back later in the year.
- Brenda (8/5): Beautiful town and comfortable accommodation - Very friendly staff in a beautiful location in Castletown. The breakfast was good No lift to the upstairs rooms
- Barry (8/5): Very good - Great place in the middle of castle town square,
Room was great, plenty of parking and the breakfast where spot on 👍🏻
- Ken (8/5): Very good -
- Susan (9/5): Superb - Everything was really good, the breakfast is wonderful with plenty of choice The curtains in the room don't fit and are hanging off so constant light at night. It would be a simple housekeeping job to put right.
- Peter (6/5): Pleasant - The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The "landmark view" which was advertised was the side wall of the Co- op approximately 10 feet from the window!
- Sylvia (10/5): Would recommend and would stay again - Extremely clean, great food, friendly staff and great location Nothing
- Barbara (8/5): Perfect position for exploring the island. - Position of hotel in Castletown - in the main square, directly opposite Rushen Castle.
Superb breakfast - full English! Problem with the water in the room - too hot!
- Stephen (9/5): Superb -
- William (9/5): Superb - Location Weather.
- Robin (9/5): I would definitely stay here again without issue especially during TT period. - I travelled to Castletown at short notice for the TT races. The hotel staff were very obliging allowing a check in at 11am. You don't get that everywhere but as we had turned up at 0830 in the rain they allowed us to buy a breakfast and sit in the lobby until the room was ready. Can't ask for anything better. It was raining nothing to do with the hotel!
- Sakari (7/5): Good - Essentials were in decent level. Loud contruction noises, limited cold breakfast options compared to price
- Graham (7/5): Good -
- Paxton (6/5): Disappointed no meals were available in the evening. Very limited options elsewhere in town. - Rooms were clean and tidy. Convenient to airport for the morning flight. Kindly stored our bags for us until we could check in at 3pm. We had 2 rooms booked. There was an issue with Room10. The shower hot water which only went from very hot to scalding in temp. Also the heated towel rail couldn’t be turned off so the entire bedroom was very very hot and stuffy and uncomfortable. It wax on the third floor.
The other room our daughter was in on a lower level was fine.
In room information booklet stated a laundry was available for guests to use but staff said there was no such service.
- Chris (8/5): - Nice hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Good choice of drinks but unfortunately food was a bit underwhelming. Rooms were nice and well kept but the shower base was a bit slippy. Nice selection of complimentary items were provided and supplemented on a daily basis. All in all a very pleasant stay and would not hesitate to re-book there in the future.
- Fiona (10/5): Fantastastic stay - Very clean and friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. Nothing
- Lori (5/5): Passable -
- Patricia (9/5): Lovely hotel right in the centre of castlerown - The manger was most helpful and his staff everyone very pleasant and friendly. The breakfast was very good and we had our evening meals both nights of our stay and the food was excellent.
- Cheryl (10/5): Exceptional - Pleasant hotel in good location.
Very nice breakfast. Window frames rattle in the wind - a nuisance in the middle of the night!!
- Nigel (10/5): Comfortable hotel - We enjoyed the whole time we had there.
- Justin (9/5): One night visit during TT, will be back :-) - Booked this very last minute for the TT and just staying there 1 night, loved the place. the room was great the pub downstairs was great and the Menu looked good for dinne (although I didnt eat dinner there but had breakfast). Good beers and nice place to relax after a day on the island. Deffo on my list to rebook :-)
- Marie (10/5): Perfect location/stay - Fab location, right in centre of town, everything close by, staff were amazing, bedroom was comfy, great food
- Michael (8/5): Very good -
- Brian (10/5): Surprisingly comfortable traditional inn - Delicious breakfast. Kippers and bread.
- Judith (9/5): Superb -
- Darren (6/5): Perfect central location to park and stay - Perfect location, good parking, friendly and polite staff, clean and tidy, small room and at the very top of the hotel so not great for carrying large bags but I’m sure you could ask for a first floor room.
- Ruth (8/5): Very good - Fabulous location
