Jolique (9/5): Perfect stay in paradise - It looks wonderful and the view is absolutely stunning. The rooms are open (as in a roof, no walls, outside shower and toilet with generous hot water), so you hear sounds of animals at night. But in a good way. Fan and very solid klamboe, so no worries on mosquitoes etc. Good swimming pool, great breakfast and diner if you want. Staff is very helpful in renting motorbike or activities. Yes, it is not at the beach, but the benefits of this lodge and the quick and easy motor ride into the village (max 8 mins) makes it a very good (I think better) choice. Would make same choice next time😘. Nothing. All good!
seisun (9/5): Insane views - We loved our stay at Utopia Eco Lodge. The 180-degree ocean view is unreal. The lodge is set back and built into the cliffside, so it feels like you’re floating above the trees. Sunrise and sunset from there are something else. The food was insanely good, honestly the best pasta on the island. And the staff were warm, helpful, and have such a good eye for detail you can really feel the care they put into everything. It’s the perfect spot to unwind, surf, and soak in that huge, peaceful view.

My partner and I loved it so much that we kept extending our stay — we just didn’t want to leave. We stayed in the Pride Suite, and it was perfection. The view was breathtaking, and we had access to a whole area that felt completely our own, with different spaces to relax and enjoy. Even the toilet had the best view imaginable! The staff were amazing — warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. Breakfast each morning was fresh, delicious, and beautifully prepared, and the dinners we had in the evenings were just as exceptional. The owner and his son went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable, from their hospitality to helping us organize things and sharing lovely conversations and walks. It truly felt like a little slice of paradise — they’ve created something very special here.

Ci è stato dato un grande lodge con vista magnifica, letto comodo e pulito con zanzariera. Vista mare direttamente dal letto. Tutto integrato perfettamente con la natura del luogo. Il proprietario ci ha dato ottimo consigli per visitare l'isola e altre parti dell'Indonesia.

martine (10/5): Séjour incroyable - Le cadre est ressourçant, calme, beau. J’ai tout aimé dans cet endroit, c’est encore plus beau que sur les photos. Les petits déjeuners et les dîners sont délicieux . Je n’ai eu aucune fausse note durant ce séjour de six jours. C’est peut-être juste un peu plus loin du centre, mais la location d’une moto ne coûte pas très cher, et c’est un plaisir d’arpenter ces petites routes désertes.

Food is exceptional, breakfast are quite complete and well made, healthy and some other great options in the menu. The staff and his host, Aimone, are fantastic people who makes you feel very welcome. Aimone helps you with any needs or curiosities you need to know about Rote. I don’t think there’s something we can say that we didn’t like

Aimone went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable, even giving me the best room since I was the only guest for the first few days. The food was fantastic, the views were absolutely insane, and the whole experience felt magical—like living in a nature miracle. It’s peaceful, eco-friendly, and truly one of those rare places that stay with you long after you leave. I just can’t recommend it enough. I loved everything

Annika (10/5): Exceptional - This place is unique. It‘s located up the hill and a 10min drive to town. The view is awesome. The whole area has a very nice vibe. The lodge is created with a lot of thought and we really appreciated the eco-friendliness. It‘s super clean, has a very nice pool area and the staff is also super friendly. There is free water to reduce plastic waste and the food served is made out of local or even homegrown produce. We had dinner once and Aimone the owner created a lovely meal. Also breakfast was always great. There is a lot of felxibility and getting a vegan breakfast was no issue at all. Aimone created a truly amazing place! Thanks again for all the recommendations. You made our stay on Rote very special.

The room we stayed in was a dream: a bit of wild Africa and Indo vibes together. Aimone is the best host, always showing us spots to chill/surf or for an adventure. <3 we'll be surely back in this dream place
Henry (10/5): The lodge looks even better in real life than in the pictures, has an amazing pool and is a perfect place to chill out, - Utopia is a short drive uphill from the main Nemberala strip, with views over the jungle to the sea. The rooms are comfortable, open, simple and beautiful with amazing views. Aimone is a natural welcoming host, a great cook and helped organise trips and adventures for our family. Review by Ingrid Age 8 and a half… I love the bedrooms because they are comfortable, cosy, peaceful, open air and very beautiful views! I love the pool because I love swimming so much and I love how pretty the water is and how warm the water feels when you get in. I also love the restaurant because they cook delicious meals for breakfast lunch and dinner and the beautiful sunset and sunrise over the ocean and in the evening you can enjoy the stars it sometimes even rains round the shelter I love the noise of it. Aimone is so nice and organises trips for example he went to pancake island with me and we went snorkelling and saw some really beautiful fish and we walked along the beach and we saw some turtle tracks and Aimone even cooked us some breakfast on the campfire!

Stefanie (10/5): Simply fantastisch - The accommodation utopia was simply fantastic. The room was clean and beautiful and was also cleaned and tidy every day. In addition, there was a very calm and relaxing atmosphere and the staff was always polite and in a good mood. Aimone also took care of us more than well and did many trips with us, such as to the mangroves. Considering the surf, Aimone is an amazing guide of all the surrounding waves and let’s you know where you should go. I could go on and on but would rather suggest you experience it yourself. Overall, we really enjoyed our time on Roti island and we will definitely come back!

Anonymous (9/5): You stay in a hotel mindful of enjoying nature thoroughly. this is not a hotel for business and electronics, but a plac - most of all the consistent eco friendly concept.. we stayed in a real traditional adat house and in the middle of nature. the owner Emon is very friendly and understanding. breakfast with fruits, also there was special dinner event with international menu its bit far from the beach, only few staff.
