Guest Reviews
- Debra (8/5): - Lovely staff, clean and comfortable- beds a bit hard.
- pashang (6/5): - Nil
- Daniel (10/5): Wonderful, Authentic Experience - I have already reviewed before, but if you are looking to stay in old Marrakech, this is the ultimate spot. Highly recommended!
- Daniel (10/5): 10/10 In Every Way - Truly a gem, right in the heart of the old city of Marrakech. (Medina) you are right near to the main square, and the Cafe de France, which is the main meeting point for most tours. The staff is beyond amazing, and the food is great. Zakaria is one of the best I’ve ever come across, and that’s coming from someone who travels a lot. All in all, if you are looking for an authentic Moroccan experience, this is the perfect place.
- Francis (6/5): basic amenities - we were a large group and some were in the main hotel however some were round the corner in another building, including me. The rooms here were very very basic. I was given a padlock to lock the door. the doors were hard to close and just a simple latch, no wardrobe, hairdryer, bedside table, no lighting in the dark alleyway to get there - had to use my phone light.
The room was spotlessly clean though, the shower was hot and i had clean bedding and towels everyday. two of our group felt they couldn't stay there and had to leave to find more suitable accommodation with more amenities. for a small uplift you can get full 5 star hotels very close by.
- Bob (8/5): Very Moroccan hotel. - It had a lot of character and is very typical Moroccan style hotel. The personal were very friendly and helpful. It is close to the main square, Jemaa Elfna. You have to walk down a long alley to get to the hotel. They have two buildings and the second one is down another alley and the room there was not as nice.
- Claudine (10/5): - This Riad was clean, nice and conveniently located close to the main plaza. Tons of shopping and dining in the area. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly especially Zachariah!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - All in all a good choice, but the rooms are small and you may be placed in an alternative building without notice. The staff is very friendly, but you will be hard pressed to get recommendations for restaurants, etc. that are not affiliated with the hotel.
- Saugata (2/5): - I like only location of the Riad. Their service is very bad and rooms are worst. Small, darty, We booked 4 rooms. All bathrooms have bad smell. All rooms are very small. Breakst is kind of okay. But portion size is small. We have to ask every time for each item and then only they provide with unhappy face. If somebody wants to stay at this location then this is good but not good as a hotel.
- Tiit (10/5): - Nice place, nice people, nice servis!
- Aleem (6/5): Great service and breakfast - Amazing staff and great breakfast My only issue was that the room I got was very small with no windows.
- gabrielle (10/5): - Beautiful riad right off the jemma el fna square. This puts in it in 15-30 min walk from all the main attractions. Hotel staff are wonderful (speak many languages - I heard french, arabic, english there might be others). They will sit you down upon arrival to see how long you'll be in town, recommend and book if you like restaurants depending on what you're looking for, recommend and book if you like excursions, and just make sure you have a quality stay and see and experience as much as possible within your means. They'll answer any questions, and book transport as well if you choose. Only caveat was that our room was level one closest to the front desk and we heard all the coming and going traffic. That being said usually by midnight it was quiet through around 8am, so adjust your sleep schedules accordingly or use headphones/white noise like I did and you'll be fine.
- Meital (10/5): - PERFECT LOCATION, GREAT SERVICE THANK YOU!
MIRI AND AMOS FROM ISRAEL
- Leticia (10/5): - Great Riad. Amazing service / staff they made me feel like a queen. Property is in a great location in the old town. Easy to escape the chaos of the old town.
- Taraneh (6/5): - The place is very dated and it’s not maintained well. We booked the “ best room” according to them and we were not very satisfied with the condition of the room. It was too dark and dated. There were cracks and stains on the floor and and the bed was old and crooked. The pool is way to small for swimming and since it’s located in the lobby it’s way too crowded. The breakfast is okay. The staff are very friendly but you can tell they don’t have hospitality training. I wouldn’t go back.
- Suzanne (10/5): Lovely stay. - Rarely have a had a stay with friendlier, more solicitous staff. They did everything they could to make our stay easy and comfortable.
- Nikita (10/5): - All the staff at Riad Jemaa El Fna & Spa were exceptionally courteous especially Abdul and Oussama. Wish I could give more than 5 stars just for them. They were informative, kind, helpful gracious and protective. They saw to all our needs and give us really good recommendations. The Riad itself is gorgeous, ideally situated just off the medina in old Marrakech. I highly recommend staying here while in Marrakech.
- Joana (10/5): - Amazing location, property and even more amazing staff. Will recommend to all of my friends!
- Matilda (2/5): - They told me there were bedbugs in my room and transferred me to another hotel that was poor quality compared to what I booked. The staff at the other hotel Safran and Cannelle were rude and violent with me when I changed my mind about staying there and decided to leave. Jemma Elfna was not helpful when the situation got violent and the owner tried to fight me
- Bina (6/5): - I didn't realize there are two building. I felt like I was at the 'other'; I even had to double check it was the same riad. This riad is all about convenience and location. It felt more like a hotel riad than a boutique homely riad.
- kawtar (10/5): - Everything is great just for the parking part was hard to find parking nearby we had to walk 10 mins to the riad. The stay was great.
- Eimear (10/5): A must visit for One Night Central Stay Marrakesh - This Riad is a must stay in central Marrakech.. Not many places would manage to give such tranquility in such a central location while keeping the authenticity..
Staff were fantastic, Relaxing Space was fabulous. Room was small but perfect for a one night stop over to see an experience the real Marrakesh!
- Verified traveler (4/5): Not worth it - The room had no windows for ventilations and nor did the bathroom. The room was too small for the two of us. We had to climb over our suitcases to get around. I paid for a queen sized bed but when we got there the bed was almost the size of a double bed. We asked for an iron but didn’t get it till the next day. The lounge area is literally outside the bedroom window we were trying to sleep
But people were listening to loud music and gathering in the lounge area which was located on the same floor as our room. We were also charged extra for tax when we challenged this the receptionist had no justification other than it needs to be paid as said by him.
- Gregory (10/5): Excellent Service in the heart of the Medina. - Upon arrival and check in you are greeted with tea. From there you are shown your room and assisted with your baggage. We had to finish up some work so we decided to chill on the roof where Abdo served us chicken tajine and hookah. The staff is friendly and will assist you in exploring the Medina in a none pressure way. The pool was nice after a hot day in the Medina but the staff is what makes this place special. The breakfasts are delicious as well. Upon departure Abdo went the extra mile in helping find our excursion guide and we left with a smile. Would definitely recommend for fun couples adverse to travel.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The pics are a total catfish. The pool was tiny, the room was tiny. The pipes were wrapped on aluminum foil. The toilet water was shut off. I do not recommend.
- narjiss (10/5): - Amazing great staff and great location in the muddle of jamae lfna the rooms was very clean very nice breakfast everyone was so helpful specially adil thank u
- Allyson (10/5): - Beautiful boutique hotel with a great location to cafes, shopping, and gardens in Marrakech. When we arrived the concierge gave us a map with directions and highlighted areas of interest in the city. The rooftop and spa were added perks we enjoyed as well. We loved our stay here and would recommend it to anyone traveling to Marrakech.
- Andrew (10/5): - Beautiful Riad in a great location. The staff were so friendly and went above and beyond to make the experience amazing. I wanted to know how to get the soap, they said it was custom made for them so I would not be able to find it, but then gave me a bunch to take home. Asked where I could get the little brass shoe that was their room keychain, (after searching every brass sook) they said had them specially made for them but gave me one for free. Asked what brand of tea so I could go buy some, they sent out a guy to buy for me and would not let me pay for it. ( of course I put many tips in their tip jar, but was not expected to). Great visit, great staff, beautiful Riad. Highly highly recommend!!!
- Benjamin (10/5): One of my very best hotel experiences. - Just for one night but the staff's attention to detail was stellar. Enjoyed Racid and Said's attentiveness. Appreciate every staff members constant attention to detail and their ability to offer help and information before I can even think of it. Everyone seem to read my mind and provide me of what I would next need before I ask for it. I am really impress and satisfied with my stay. I would not look elsewhere if and when I return to Marakkech in the near future. I know where to stay when I do.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Checkin was horrible, rude lady and made me wait for a long time. Property is not very nice - old, not like pictures. Heater did not work, and far at the end of a dark alley. I did not enjoy this Hotel at all! There are way cheaper ones that are much much better than this.
- Micheala (10/5): - Amazing customer service. The people here were great. There were spots everywhere that you could chill out in, and we were welcomed with tea and some sweets. Breakfast was also included.
- Lionel (8/5): Well located, OK for short stay, wonderful staff - Beautiful setting, good breakfast and charming staff. Only negative was the state of the bathrooms. Not hot water one night, hot water cut off at the sink and very very bad mildew problem in the shower affecting the walls, soap support and product bottles themselves. Staff did offer to switch room but should not even come into questions at these rates.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I like everything on the Riad! The place near by the square was perfect. The breakfast very good. The housekeeper Elham, she’s very kind and sweet, love her ❤️. All the staff was very friendly and professional!
The smell from the little street when you get to hotel was not agradável!!..😷 😄. I recommended
- Cheung (6/5): Beautiful Riad, just don't stay in your room. - The staff were super friendly and helpful! The common area of the Riad was beautiful. Love the second floor restaurant area. We had dinner there and the food was delicious. The musicians were SO GOOOOD! Honestly, it was such a treat to be able to enjoy dinner listening to their singing. The room really was disappointingly small. If you have two big suitcases like us there will not be any space for you to open them beside right in front of the bathroom door. The bathroom was not very pleasing to look at...The shower door would not close properly so water kept coming out. There was a hatch door thingy in the shower area that was not fitted and was hanging off half way...
- MichaelandSusan (8/5): - The property is authentic, pretty and full of character. The bedrooms are small and dark which can be off putting. The food was amazing and the staff exceptional, warm , friendly and very very eager to help. A lovely lovely Riad in a perfect position with the nicest staff in Marrakech
- Hanna (8/5): - You can’t beat the location and aesthetically this riad is amazing. The staff upon check in were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The hotel it’s self is very loud, especially the floor below the restaurant. The restaurant staff is extremely slow and does not acknowledge you. The restaurant hours seemed to vary depending on how
busy it is. One night open until almost 1am the next shutdown by 10pm.
This was a little confusing and frustrating!
- Jaclyn (10/5): Absolutely MUST STAY HERE - My stay was absolutely perfect. Hamza at the front desk is a serious asset to this hotel. He made our arrival, stay and departure an absolute dream. The entire staff was so friendly and helpful. Anything we needed they were there. The location was one of the best I had during my 2 week stay in
Morocco. The Riad is absolutely gorgeous and was one of my favorites.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The Riad was beautiful and the setting for breakfast on the roof was lovely. The room however was very dark. I know is an internal room but the lighting was not bright enough. There were only 2 hooks on the wall with 4 coat hangers and a dark shelf unit for storage. The tools in the bathroom never dried as there was not enough hanging space for them to air.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I would have to say that the Riad itself wasn’t bad. Very friendly staff that made us feel really welcomed. Our room was tiny. Basically just a bed which was fine because we were excited to roam around and we weren’t planning on spending but time at the Riad. But, that didn’t pan out so well. The actual square is disgusting. And the souks are awful. Constant harassment to buy products and people asking you for money as soon as you step out of the Riad. So this becomes a problem when you room is so small you can barely fit your luggage. Also, the pool is just for looking you actually can’t go in it so the online pictures aren’t accurate as there is a women appearing to be swimming. Another thing to note is that the Riad is at the end of an alleyway and let me tell you walking down at night is not the safest feeling in the world. The Riad has a rooftop bar restaurant that had really good food and drinks and hookah, however the only options are a meat 3 course meal or veggie three course meal for a set price. Which isn’t the best if your not really hungry because it is a lot of food. Ultimately we did end of leaving the Riad one night early to get away from the Médina. It was too much for us. I would recommend this Riad if you are looking to see the craziness that is marrakesh, and you want a safe and friendly place to stay. Our last day we stayed out of the mayhem at the radisson blu hotel. It was almost the same price, and they have a giant pool and gym to relax by.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The location and rooftop were our favorite parts of this riad. The photos made everything look bigger and cleaner then in person . Staff was helpful and friendly.
- Lillian (10/5): Great Riad one block away from the main square - Perfect location fantastic service beautiful place
- Agnieszka (10/5): Amazing stay - Good central location and easy to find, nice quirky decor, yummy food, but most of all, what really makes this place special, amazingly kind and helpful staff! They went out of their way and even tried to desl with the excursion misshap, the one I booked independently and the hotel had nothing to do with it, yet they were on the case making sure nothing spoils my stay. I truly felt at home and will be coming back!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This riad is amazing, all the staff are incredible and made our stay extra special. Our room was clean & very comfortable and the restsurant was fabulous at breakfast ,and dinner. Absolutely amazing- thank you!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - We arrived to the hotel in the afternoon our flight was delayed for an hour when we get there the rooms were not ready and we have to wait.
- Miranda (10/5): Wonderful Riad - The Riad was beautiful and the service was excellent. We would recommend it to friends and family and stay again!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff we amazing! They did everything they could to make us feel at home and make our trip easier and more enjoyable. The Riad it’s self is beautiful and in the best location
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great place off the beaten path and in the Médina - Off the beaten path and a great place. The food was good. The staff friendly and helpful. Great rooftop view. The staff hooked us up with a nice private tour guide to see the Médina.
- Agnieszka (8/5): - Amazing place with incredible staff. Highly recommended!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Well maintained and looks pretty. I do not like our room. It is very dark even with lights. There are no windows and a musky smell + no air movement so it makes all the furniture and sheets clammy
- Erika (8/5): - Great location. Wonderful staff. The hotel is beautiful although the rooms are tiny and lighting is very dim.
