Guest Reviews
- Malgorzata (8/5): -
- Peter (9/5): A wonderful, tranquil place to escape the crowds in Sorrento, offering stunning views. - The owners of the property were really friendly and welcoming, and the pre-arrival instructions were easy and efficient. The property is in a peaceful and remote location with incredible views from the small garden over the bay towards Vesuvius. The small house was well-equipped and comfortable. A small sitting area would have been welcome, but the layout of the house made this difficult, so not a problem overall.
- santil (10/5): A great place to relax with beautiful views. - The villa is located on a hill overlooking Sorrento, which is only about a 15-minute drive away. The road leading directly to the villa is a bit narrow and includes a couple of steep, sharp climbs, so driving can be slightly challenging. However, there is convenient parking near a church just above the villa, and from there it’s an easy 5-minute walk, which was perfectly fine for us.
The view from the villa is absolutely stunning and definitely one of the highlights. Our room was spacious and very comfortable — we stayed in the Green Room and really enjoyed it. The owners were incredibly kind, welcoming, and always ready to help, which made our stay even more pleasant. Highly recommended if you don’t mind a short walk and a scenic hillside location.
- carmen (9/5): - Muy tranquilo y silencioso.
- Leesa Smith (9/5): - Great location
Wonderful host
- Elaheh (9/5): The beautiful villa is located in an authentic location, the villa was large and clean with a cute patio with a view of - The location, friendly staff It’s hard to get to the property, the roads were very narrow
- Aleksandra (10/5): - It was really pleasure time. A wonderful place. Beautiful views and peace. Breakfast in the garden, where you can only hear the birds and the wind, is the best way to start the day. I spent seven days there and felt like I'd been there for three weeks. A great place to take a break from the city. The owners are very helpful, showing up every day and available by phone. Before my arrival I got from them a lot of informations about buses, places to visit nearby. The cottage is well-equipped, with a welcome snack and coffee, and delicious fresh fruit products. There's a farm nearby where you can buy fresh tomatoes. I highly recommend it!
- Sally (5/5): - It looked clean and cute and Pepe was extremely helpful We chose not to stay the description did not match our expectations, the onsite parking is suitable only for very small cars think fiat bambino, or you park 500metres away, then access is down a dirt track in an out a problem in the rain. Travelling by bus would be a nightmare..
The beds were over 2levels one being a mezzanine up winding staircase the other down multiple stairs
The property would suit young honeymooners not so much well travelled couples..
- Cassie (10/5): Relaxing and worry free. - Beautiful home. Private, quiet, well stocked. Clean. The hosts were AMAZING. They wrote back quick when I contacted them. Picked us up when we got there. Gave us a lot of info with buses and food near by. Once we learned the bus schedule it was great. The property was out of town. It was my fault for not looking fully into that. It wasn’t close to shopping, coffee shops or restaurants if you want that. There is a fabulous pizza place the hosts recommend that delivers and a restaurant near by but we never went.
- Roy (8/5): Erg goed - zeer viendeljjk gastheer.
Erg ruim verojf niets
- sally (9/5): Honest review. - Quiet location. Very private with electric gated entrance.Good for travelling to Sorrento, Almalfi coast, Naples and Pompeii, own little garden space for 2 sunbeds and to dine outside. Excellent bathroom with lovely soft towels. We did really like it there despite my comments and would stay again if in the area. The owners are lovely and its great to go to somewhere family run. Booking.com info misleading.....Parking onsite only if you have a small car and very confident driver. Despite owners advising not to take our car to the accomodation We did the 2nd day but very very narrow and not for the faint hearted. To walk its a steep hill one way and steps the other, so Not suitable for anyone who isnt too good at walking.
Info suggests theres a restuarant, shop and wellness centre. These facilities are not onsite. Its 3 apartments. No information on working facilities within room or for emergencies ie doctor, hospital etc
- Shane (10/5): - A beautiful tranquil setting where Pepe is making sure that you need for nothing. Nothing
- Agustin (9/5): -
- victoria (9/5): - Beautiful location. Private and peaceful away from the Amalfi crowds. Our host was very helpful...she even helped us order pizza takeaway!
There's a stunning sunset spot and restaurant just a 5 min walk away...not to be missed.
- Bellantoni (10/5): Exceptional - A Dream Stay in Montechiaro – Truly Unforgettable
Our stay at this beautiful villa just outside Sorrento was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, Salvatore and his wonderful family made us feel completely at home. They are some of the kindest, most genuinely caring people we’ve ever met—always going above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and happy.
The property itself is stunning—full of life, with vibrant homegrown tomatoes, lush lemon gardens, and the most breathtaking views of the coast. It felt like being wrapped in nature and love all at once.
The location is also perfect—peaceful and serene, yet easily accessible with a shuttle bus and nearby train station making day trips simple and stress-free.
What truly made our stay special, though, were the people. Beautiful souls in a beautiful setting. We left feeling rested, inspired, and incredibly grateful. Highly recommend to anyone looking for an authentic and heartwarming Italian escape. That we couldn’t move in forever
- Melissa (10/5): Dream come true! - The owner is exceptionally kind and thoughtful! He was helpful and the stay was amazing and comfortable. We truly enjoyed our time in Vico Equense and we hope to make this a yearly visit and bring our children and loved ones. There wasn’t anything to dislike.
- Ivan (9/5): Superb -
- Špela (10/5): Exceptional - House was really comfort in a quiet zone.
Owners are more than nice, they really felt us special. In the house there was a washing machine which is a great plus.
In three days of our stay there was much traffic on the way to Sorrento and back, but we had rented scooter so it didn't take us much for reaching the town. With car I think it would be a bit chaotic.
From the house is nice view on the Vesuvio and Naples bay. I would definitely come again ❤️
- Williams (10/5): Exceptional - Pepe was so kind and helpful. A really lovely beginning to the stay!
- Ankush (9/5): Superb - All facilities was well maintained and provided. Didn’t have a sea view. Disappointed bit, but can be managed by 5 min walk from property.
- Iwona (10/5): Exceptional - The owner was very friendly and helpful, room was clean and outside garden was private and very Italian climate Thank you 😊 🥰🥰
- Mandrake (9/5): Superb - The challenge of driving uphills 🙂 Nothing to dislike
- Rafael (10/5): Exceptional - Stunning place near Sorrento. Perfect place to explore the area. The house is well equipped and you have a nice outside area. Our son loved interacting with the cats that come to see you. In addition Pepe is really nicr Not really negative but to be aware of. If you have a large car you have to park 200m from the apartment, but Pepe will show you how to get around and help you with the luggage
- N (10/5): We had a lovely week here, perfect accomodation to escape from exploring the busy Amalfi coast. - Nice breakfast spread prepared by the host, so that finding a shop is not necessary as soon as you arrive.
- Vītols (10/5): We enjoyed our stay there. - The Staff were friendly and helpful. The apartments were equipped with everything you need. Access to the location is a bit troublesome :) but it was not a big problem
- Long (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fletcher (7/5): Great hosts, clogged drains. - lots of room and helpful hosts. Way off the beaten path. Best to rent a vehicle. Drains plugged in shower and sink. Didn't leave food on counter; however, lots of ants after a large rain storm. Best pizza place closed the day after showing up for 8 days.
- Motycki (9/5): Nice stay in a quiet and cosy apartment - Quiet place nearby the coast, located very near stunning viewpoint. Access to the property only for smaller vehicles (narrow road), but if you need to park the car further, hosts will pick you up and luggage and deliver to property. Neighbours plant tomatoes, you can feel like at the farm! Remember not to leave the food in the kitchen outside the fridge - ants will come very soon :)
- Ivana (10/5): Exceptional - The house is on a great spot with a beautiful view. Apartmant is clean and has everything you need. The host is amazing and nobody took care about us like they did. We surely will come back again!
- Ildikó (10/5): Mami Lurogiva is very good place to stay when touring the Amalfi coast. The apartment was nice, clean, well-organized an - The location is very authentic and local, but still has the best view within 3 mins of walking. Also, 2 great restaurants in 5 mins walking. The hosts are AMAZING. Really super nice, helpful and responsive. Nothing. We loved everything!
- Joy (10/5): Fantastic hidden gem !! - Perfect quiet spot to enjoy local atmosphere with fantastic sunset view near by. Very kind and accommodating owner. Recommend a car for this area for convenience. None
- Steven (10/5): Fantastic accommodation for our family. - Very clean and well equipped apartment that was super for our needs. (2 adults and 2 children)
Beautiful sitting area directly outside for enjoying breakfast or evening meal. We made a mistake trying to drive to the property. It’s a very narrow and steep road and we almost got stuck.
Best is to follow the owners instructions and drive to the restaurant meeting point.
- Kyle (8/5): Very beautiful property, well worth the price. - Very cute and comfy room with a small, semi private terrace. Kitchen and washer were nice and useful since we had our one year old daughter traveling with us. Property booked us a boat tour which was a great price with pickup/drop off nearby. The gasket/seal on the washer was moldy and needed to be cleaned before use. Onsite parking only available for very small cars. All other cars must park on a small street that requires a 300 meter walk up stairs that are slippery when wet. Not convenient with a baby. Although we reserved a crib and reconfirmed just prior to arrival, we were told they didn’t have a crib since another family was using it. Very stressful as we do not co-sleep with our baby for safety reasons. They did surprise us with a crib a few hours later (before bedtime) which was a huge relief but not knowing what we would do for that time was stressful and not a great start to our stay. Should not be a problem moving forward as they now have two cribs.
- Vitalija (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christian (10/5): Everything was fine - Nice flat with everything you need and a small garden. Very quiet neighbourhood. Nice landlord contact. If you are travelling by car, which is highly recommended, you should choose a small vehicle so that you can use the car park. We were completely satisfied!
- Neil (9/5): Lovely accommodation and views. Very friendly host and friendly neighbourhood. Excellent as a base. - We deliberately chose a location out of Sorrento as we had a hire car. The apartment was in a very tranquil location which offered fine views and opportunities for walking around the area. The apartment itself was very nice (one of 3 in a cluster). The host was most helpful during our stay. There are a couple of restaurants and village shops within 500-750 m.
With the car, we were able to visit Pompeii (50 mins), Salerno (90 mins avoiding tolls and taking in the scenery on the way), Positano (30 mins).
We also walked 8k to the centre of Sorrento and used the train and bus to return later in the day. The only comment I would make is the sound insulation between the 2 adjoining apartments isn't great, with the neighbouring bathroom seemingly very close !
A layer of sound insulation between the 2 would help.
Note that you can only drive up to the property with a very small car due to the steep narrow road. However, alternative parking on a safe road is available about 200-300 metres away.
- Donal (9/5): Chilled, quiet, stunning views, great base for exploring the Bay of Naples/Sorrento/Amalfi Coast. - We loved the views from the apartment, we had a view of Vesuvius, and the Bay of Naples, just a short 5 min walk up the steep steps brought you up to one of the finest viewpoints of Sorrento and Capri in the area.
The apartment was great v clean and had most things we needed, though a pop-up toaster would be a great addition, we stayed the first 2 weeks of March when it was still quite chilly so the Air/Con/Heater was a great asset and indeed were the extra blankets.
The sun loungers were also great for the few days of sunshine we did get.
We didn't have a car so the owners were fantastic and provided us with timetables for the local minibus service that brought us into Vico Equense (About 20 mins away) from there we could utilise the local train network for Sorrento/Naples/Pompei.
Because we were self catering it was also handy having 2 small grocery shops about a 10 min walk up the hill, the bus stop is also a 10 min walk away.
What we really loved about our stay was how we were looked after by the owners, Peppe was fantastic made us feel very welcome, we felt part of the family.
Peppe collected us from Naples Train Station and also drove us to the airport on departure Eur 60 for each, (Much cheaper than a taxi), he also gave us great suggestions for local attractions/restaurants etc. The location was fine for us as we are reasonably fit, as the apartment is perched up on a hill it does require quite a strenuous walk up to the shops or bus stop, so the location wouldn't suit anyone with mobility issues who didn't have their own transport.
We also walked into Vico Equense on the second day of our stay, I wouldn't recommend this as the footpath is very narrow and doesn't continue the whole way to the town.
- Lara (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful peaceful location!
- Chris (8/5): A great place in the most tranquil setting in a beautiful part of the bay of Napels. - Breakfast basket provided, shop in walking distance to get fresh bread and a variety of breakfast items.
Possibility to have a fantastic breakfast in the hotel around the corner for a very reasonable price. We stayed in the apartments out of season, which meant there was not so much choice of restaurants nearby.
- Renata (10/5): Almafi with family! - The staffing was amazing, we were treated like family! I’d totally go back! It’s challenging to find parking.
- Danilo (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderful host Tight car acess😃
- Sorin (9/5): Comfortable and cosy - Clean room, well equipped and with a small garden. We had clothes washing option that was great for us. Wi-Fi very good, cats and dogs so that the kids could play with, very kind hosts. Good restaurant very near. Possibility to free of charge parking. The location is far from everything (Sorrento, Amalfi Coast etc) but I suppose that this is a detail you learn when you book the room so it cannot be the downside. The downside for us was that the parking space was a little far from the location and the road was a little bit scary and dark by night. Maybe more light and also a little cleaning for the road would be great.
- Nikolay (9/5): Superb -
- Clifford (10/5): Exceptional -
- Zsolt (8/5): Good value for money - Modern spacey apartment, owner helpfull with valuable infos, parking on site Location is in the middle of hill at small village, accessible only by car and to far walking to Vico either Sorrento
- Samantha (9/5): Beautiful spot - The family who runs the Villa is so kind, they picked us up from the train station and dropped us off when we had to leave, my friend and I are we're travelling without a car. The view is incredible and everything was clean and organized. They suggested a charter that took us to Amalfi and positano and Capri and there is a mini market and restaurants close by. Everyone in the community is super friendly. It is really hard to get around if you're taking trains and buses, the bus stop is close by but the bus is pretty irregular and only goes in the direction of vico Equense, so getting to Sorrento is difficult. The Villa is on a really steep hill and the roads are so tight and windy so we didn't want to rent scooters. Other than transport we loved it.
- Carey (9/5): Great value for money, clean and friendly - great choice if you have a car. - Very friendly hosts, went out of their way to accommodate. Fantastic view of the Bay of Naples AND Sorrento side. Quiet, outside tables, great hot water and nice village atmosphere, minimarket nearby, fresh air, privacy and comfortable room, very clean, and good base for the Amalfi coast. Make sure you meet the host at the Red Chapel or Montechiaro Maison, do not try to find the address yourself because there is a very steep road- if he meets you he can take your bags and show you where to park and go the last little bit on foot. And there are other towns with similar names and streets, so make sure you type in Mama Luroviga NOT just the address in Waze or you will get very lost!
And you definitely need a car to stay here.
- Morgan (9/5): Great little cabins, fully equipped, with some views of the ocean and Mt Vesuvius. Don’t stay here unless you have a car -
- József (9/5): Superb - The kind and helpful host was waiting for us upon our arrival and gave us a lot of information about the area (restaurants, things to do) during our stay. The surrounding was quiet, the apartment was clean and the equipment was suitable for us. We were there in January, so it was a bit cold, but the aircon (heating) did a good service. My kid made everlasting friendship with the cats hanging around :-)
- Eduardo (8/5): Good value for money - Spacious, comfortable and well equipped Apart from some minor issues, everything was very good
- Ann-kristin (10/5): perfetto - everything was fantastic! Mami Luroviga was our Island in this busy region. we loved our gardener neighbours where we bought tomatos. Our Host was amazing! very Kind and helpful!! Grazie mille per tutti
- John (10/5): Absolutely outstanding stay. Loved it. - From the start, our hosts showed excellent communication and were always willing to help. Our flight was delayed and they helped arrange a taxi and even stayed up to 3 am to welcome us to the accommodation. Outstanding! So friendly and made us feel all at home. I would not hesitate to recommend this place. We were surrounded by the sights and sounds of a beautiful farm, quietly tucked away. Very secluded.
Some great restaurants just around the corner. Renting a car or transfers arranging to pick you up for your trips is a must. A short walk up a gravel track so keep in mind for travelers with mobility issues.
- Hillaert (8/5): great stay - beautiful clean house with airco When you haven’t rented a car/bike/… it’s not easy to get places
- Youssef (10/5): Exceptional -
