Guest Reviews
- godsman (2/5): - Staff rude, not helpful at all. very impatient, DEFINITELY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.
- Sapan (10/5): - Budget friendly. Loved being there
- Janine (10/5): - Owner super friendly, clean and welcoming
- Bill (10/5): - A little dated but good place for single person traveling
- Karen (2/5): - Felt very discriminated and the owner was very rude. The rooms were not as described online. Fees were also increased when checking in not as described online.
Very dirty and smelly I don’t recommend anyone staying in this motel or hotel.
- Rob (2/5): - The owner charged us an additional $20.00 for damages he claimed was BLOOD on the pillows. We left the room in excellent condition and there was NO blood on the pillows. We will dispute the $20.00 charge with Mastercard.
- Teirney (2/5): - It was not in good condition, there was a picture over the bed with broken glass. The room had a very odd smell like wood rot or dead animal. The room itself looked like it was falling apart and the kitchen cabinets had seen better days. The AC was absolutely disgusting, that filter doesn't look like it's ever been cleaned .
- William (10/5): - Very clean, a little cluttered in the room. Good value for the money.
- Remis (8/5): - Price was pretty good but the hotel itself is very dated the sheets are all very dated the interior is in need of repa
- Edu (4/5): - Poor
- Richard (6/5): - Nothing to complain about very average Would stay again hopefully cheaper
- Doris (6/5): - Room was clean.
Outdoor needs some attention. Lots of spiderwebs.
- Santhoshkumar (2/5): - Front desk was good and had no issues with check-in. The room was cleaned properly and had cigarette smell. We reported about the smell and got different room and that does not had cigarette smell but the bathroom was not good. Also the towels, bed spread and pillow case was not good. Found insects inside the room. Overall it was very upsetting experience.
- Lew (8/5): - I liked I could park my motocycle in front of my door
- Elaine (2/5): - When we arrived, the door to the office was locked so no one was at the front desk. There were 2 phone numbers to call for service and we finally reached someone at the second number we tried. He gave us a code for the room. The paint was peeling on ALL the walls and the carpet was filthy. We didn't see anyone representing the hotel during our stay. We tried calling the next morning and the mailbox was full! I hope this motel is removed from hotels.com and that no one stays here. Disgusting.
- Sikander (2/5): - Staff - Sayed was very rude when we contacted before check in. Room provided was clean but stinking.
- Charles (10/5): Good place for price - Was good
- Ivan (4/5): - Stay here if you really need to
- EMILY (10/5): - The owner & staff were all very hospitable and authentic. It was clean, safe and close to all resources for food & activities. I’ll
Def stay here again when I’m through there next!
- Megan (4/5): - This might be the oldest, most crumbling, falling apart motel I’ve ever stayed at. The bed and bathroom were surprisingly clean and the man at the front desk was very friendly, but wow, the place is in rough shape. Paint peeling from the walls, stained furniture, sagging mattress, dust and dirt. Fine location for getting on and off the transcanada hwy, and certainly wouldn’t choose to stay here for anything other than a quick nights sleep.
- Henriette Genier (6/5): - Room was clean , beds were too soft for me . Friendly owner
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Everything work but it needs updates like wall paint or newer bedding. There was a lot of people coming and going from a few rooms which was questionable.
- Agnes (8/5): - Good hotel, clean rooms, nice staff
- Joanne (6/5): - Old motel but clean and bed very comfortable
- Anmol (8/5): - Good
- Yin (6/5): - Two beds, lots of pillows
- Brad (2/5): - Outdated, burnt out light bulb, loose electrical outlet. Friendly staff when they were available. Despite this, it is a place to lay your head for the night.
- Joey (10/5): - Loved the stone bears on the entrance, appreciated the kind manager who waited up for us as we were delayed arriving. Very friendly
- GARRY (2/5): - I'm in shock in business
- David (4/5): - The motel was supposedly for people with pets. I understand that part but the bathwoom window looked like there was mold all around the frame it was black. I certainty will not go there again or recommend to anyone.im surprised an inspector would approve such a room.
- anmol (2/5): - .
- MARICICA (10/5): - The host was very friendly , nice and easy to deal with. The property location is easy to find and haze the parking right in front of the door. Checking in was easy-peasy as Sam can handle it oven if he is not on the premises.
- Robert W (8/5): - Close to the Hwy.
- Tina (8/5): - Should update the bathroom
- onyekwelu (2/5): - Bad customer service
- Charles (10/5): Great place to stay - Was a wonderful stay clean and safe area. I enjoyed myself of the staff was very helpful.
- Lawrence (4/5): - I did not like that they did not honour our reservation and instead sent a message an hour after we were to check in to say they booked all the pet friendly rooms in their motel but we could stay at another one they owned which was not anything like what we had booked
- Kyle (10/5): - Sam is very friendly and hospitable
- Stephanie (4/5): - This motel is extremely outdated and was not very clean
- Drew (10/5): - Very clean. Good service.
- Pranav (10/5): - Just at the entrance of thunder bay if coming from east. Value for money. Although my washroom door was not working. Worked for me I was solo travelling.
- MICHAEL (4/5): - The personnel were awesome! Location and environment not so much!
- Delainey (6/5): - Your very average stop-over motel. You get what you pay for, just needs some TLC in updates. No creepy crawlies though or rodents so that’s 👍
- Rosemarie (8/5): - I found the owner very pleasant and the room very adequate for the price. I will be staying here again.
- Awad (4/5): - Not clean
- james (10/5): - Loved the help when checking into the room.
- matt (8/5): - Property owner was nice and helpful. Very hasslefree. For the price, you really can’t go wrong. It’s definitely not the Ritz Royalton or something, but the price reflects that. I would stay here again.
- Diksha (8/5): - Nice and clean place
- Tara (8/5): - Good
- Loana (8/5): - We traveled with dogs, they were accommodating, it was fine for just one night
- Juanita (6/5): - N/A
- Gerald (2/5): - Not worth the money they charge
- Emmanuel (6/5): - The motel need to change the funiture since iy's very old
- Jasmine (2/5): - Smelled horrible. Visibly unclean everywhere. Clogged drains. Didnt feel comfortable at all.
- aida (4/5): - Dirty hotel, bad service, cockroaches in the room
- Gisele (10/5): - The property was great, location was great, easy to get to.
- Rico (6/5): - Good enough for sleeping
- Angela (6/5): - We stayed 1 night and it was just fine for that. Comfortable, clean room.
- Gagan (6/5): - Not so clean
- Aravind (10/5): - Good experience
- Ed (4/5): - Clean bed but bathroom needs lots of work. Needs a thorough paint job throughout to bring up to just average standards. Owner/operator at front desk was pleasant!
- Tylor (2/5): - I walked into the room and their was a steak knife placed in an unsettling position in the kitchen (in between the handles of the cabinets as to keep them shut). One of the frames for the pictures above the bed was shattered and not repaied. Observed black substances in the washroom. Untidy bedding.
- Varinder (6/5): - Room was ok ok
Ok condition is that price
- Roberto (2/5): - Be aware. They closed at midnight.
- Khalid (2/5): Bed experience - Room carpet is so dirty you cannot walk without sandel.
Bathroom condition was very bed and need completely renewation. Bed sheets not good. Do not recommened
- Ken (6/5): - There is nothing modern about this place. Its old and dirty, every room needs to be renovated. Its the cheapest place and you get what you pay for.
- John (4/5): - No one present for my check-in. Long wait. Pleasant owner but insisted I pay him even when I had opted to pay direct to Expedia. My room was very shabby - but very comfortable bed. If you have quality control over the facilities you list, you should take a look at this place - it does not speak well to Expedia customers.
- Vicky (2/5): - Booked at the modern but was moved to the old county due to overbooking. We actually should have bailed and went somewhere else. The room was dirty, smelly and super dated. I have nothing good to say and would NEVER stay there again and definitely not recommend this place to anyone.
- Wanda (8/5): - I did not feel unsafe, the man running the place was kind and helpful but the property could really use some maintence!
- TERRENCE (10/5): - Old but reasonable for the price.
- Lydiah (10/5): - Great people, beautiful service
- Lydiah (10/5): - This place is really beautiful, clean and very well maintained.
- Eric (4/5): - Not so good. Usually cheaper motels are dated but mostly acceptable. This room was in overall disrepair and very small for two beds. Not worth the price.
- Vasanth (8/5): - The stone sculptures around the property and the very 1950's decor in the rooms.
The internet speeds were only good enough for basic usage such as emails. Uploading larger files was tough.
Gas stations Esso was nearby and therefore collecting PCPoints was easy.
- Lesley (6/5): - Ok place for a over night stay if just passing through. Beds were ok but the overall room not very clean and needed renovations.
- Ken and Sue (4/5): - The sheets and towels were clean, the room very old and dirty looking would not recommend this place
- Robert (4/5): - Not an updated room. Very old
- Suzanne (10/5): - We love the small Ma&Pa hotels. This owner is the nicest man you will ever meet.
- GINA (2/5): - Booked a room at this hotel. Was sent down the street to their "other" rooms. Very old, beds very uncomfortable. Limited plugins. However was very clean. Gentlemen who showed us the room was very friendly and helpful
- Theo (2/5): - I won’t stay again. It’s a cheap price but I prefer not to see bugs in my room. I considered leaving but was too tired. Besides being dated (which I don’t mind) the paint was peeling , the bath was stained or dirty ( wasn’t going to find out which) the proposals be torn down or at least completely renovated.
- Kenneth (6/5): - You get what you pay for, would not stay there again, I have pictures of cracked shower inclosure , ceiling tiles water stained and ready to fall walls are badly scuffed, slept on the covers
- glen (8/5): I would stay here again in the future. - I got the room for $65 + tax, per night. We stayed for 3 nights. Not a huge room, but it was clean and comfortable. You do get what you pay for, but in this case I think it was well worth it. I would say no kids is a good idea, being there is not much room and nothing in the immediate area for them. DQ right across the street and a Tim Hortons 2 blocks away. I Would Stay here Again in the future.
- Bernadette (8/5): Owner is amazingly sweet and personable! - It needs a little work to update it, but all in all, the beds were comfortable and it was clean. The owner is super friendly and accommodating. We had a nice little chat when I was checking out. He’s a great man and really cares about the people who stay here. Nice for a quick stay when you’re rolling through town.
- Peter (10/5): - Great place to stay but it desperately needs renovations.
- Richard (10/5): It was a fun trip - The price is cheap and the room was clean, and we enjoyed our stay there for 2 days. 🙂
- Arthur (2/5): - The rooms are disgusting carpets filthy bathrooms filthy floors cracked walls look like an old deserted house towels dirty with stains fridgeeaked all over carpet holes in bathroom walls under sink ear wigs came in cieli g falling apart and water stains shower stall had a big hole in bottom of soap dish absolutely worst ever seen and the adds are false they tell you at counter the price is a.ericamo.ey and charge way more than advertised never again will we stay there
- HUIZHONG (8/5): - Good
- Caitlyn (4/5): - I really wanted to give this place a good review, because the property manager was friendly and tried to accommodate us. There is very little that is redeemable about this spot, especially at this price. Smell, cleanliness and safety were all concerns.
- James (6/5): Stayable - It was adequate for the price. Would be much cleaner looking if you added a coat of paint n fixed the bathroom fan.
- Peter (6/5): - Motel is old and rooms are in a state of disrepair.
Motel should go through an upgrade.
It's in a good location.
- KATHERINE (2/5): - Drunknproproetor smelly room no towels
- Spencer (10/5): Great deal in Thunder Bay - It is a very nice little hotel that is also pet-friendly. The room was clean, and spacious with decent amenities.
- Caroline (4/5): Not so Modern - Outdated, in dire need of repair and updating, carpets were stained, walls beaten up. The mattresses were sagging and caving in the middle. The bedspread seemed from the 70’s) was used as a blanket. The ceiling tiles were moldy. The shower had cracks and the was footprint stains in the tub.
Even though the gentleman at the front desk was very nice and friendly, it is overpriced for what you get.
- jason (10/5): Decent - Nice little place. Nothing special
- Jim (10/5): - Dated, but on a short layover to get sleep it was okay.
- Katarina (4/5): - The property owner/manager was terrific. The property itself was extremely outdated and needed a lot of updating.
- Dan (2/5): - The property was run down and dirty looking the towels were not clean the sink didn't drain efficiently the toilet flush button was broken the air conditioner was old dirty and inefficient. No plugs for phones or accessories. And the room was must and dust smelling
- Nick (8/5): - Though the rooms were clean, they need updating by a lot, paint coming off the walls the bathtub probably could of been renewed 20 years ago, no plugs for chargers & for me, my cpap machine nothing that would make it a more pleasant stay, there was a DQ grill next door if you wanted food. The guy in the office was really nice though
- Douglas (6/5): - Adequate room but dated
- Valerie (6/5): - Room was clean, but area was awful! Scary!
