Guest Reviews
- liz08345 (8/5): Accommodating - A nice little place. Went with my sister for a family funeral. On the way the owner reached out to ask if we would mind changing the room we booked (1st floor 2 beds). Didn't bother us as long as we had a place to sleep, we didn't need the kitchen anyway. She gave us 2 separate rooms for the price that we paid for the one. Seemed fine to us. Upon arrival we saw that the 2 rooms were on the 2nd floor. I can not climb stairs. Which of course she didn't know. Contacted her and explained the problem. She then offered us a cottage room with 2 beds at no charge for our trouble. Very nice polite friendly person. The room was sufficient. Clean with comfortable beds. We were pleased with the experience and as a result left payment in the locked box. Can't say enough about the owner's pleasantness and accommodation.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Thank you for a wonderful experience - Our stay at was absolutely wonderful! The hotel was incredibly clean, well-maintained, and easy to access. While there is no on-site front desk, the owner made the check-in process seamless by providing all the necessary details the night before—super responsive and attentive to ensure we had everything we needed. They only accepted cash or check for our stay which wasn't a problem, but something to note for future travelers.
One of the highlights for us was that our dog was welcome to stay with us, which made our trip even better. The room itself was impressively spacious, beautifully decorated, and spotless. Additionally, the hotel's location was perfect—close to everything we wanted to explore. The owner even provided a helpful list of nearby restaurants, which we truly appreciated.
If I had to mention any areas for improvement, the beds could be a bit more comfortable, and the TV was on the smaller side. However, these were minor details compared to the overall great experience.
I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a clean, well-managed, and pet-friendly place to stay with outstanding hospitality. We would absolutely stay here again!
- Elizabeth (8/5): - There were some issues with my reservation however the owner was very pleasant and accommodating. Due to this problem the owner let us stay without charge which was very nice of her. I will pay a reasonable amount. After all we did use the room and utilities.
- Apryl (10/5): - We wanted some place close from the venue we were DJing at due to the weather. Pavilion at the Park was amazing. They were friendly, answered all my questions promptly. The room was cute, clean and spacious. Thank you for all your help with our stay.
- Jerry (4/5): - This stay was near the mountains and Eagle's Mere. That must be the only reason they can charge this much for such an old, rundown, uncomfortable place. The main street out front was apparently cleared by pushing all of the snow onto the sidewalk. Our front step was covered in ice/snow. The blinds were broken on the door 3ft from the bed. The wifi was very weak despite being the closest unit to the host house. TV would not pick it up, so no working TV. Water pressure in the ancient bathroom was really low. Towels were cheap, rough junk. Bed was hard and covers were thin. It felt very much like the .99 cent store was running a hotel. Will not be back.
- HOWARD (10/5): Great option in area with few choices. - 2nd time staying here. While it’s not 5 star super luxurious, it’s always clean and well appointed. Owner is responsive and available. For the area it works really well.
- Luke (10/5): - Margie, the owner, was incredibly accommodating and helpful towards us and our needs. Very nice property to explore the surrounding State Parks.
- Bridget (10/5): CUTE - We stayed in one of the cottages for two nights while on a trip to Ricketts Glen State Park. The cottage was very clean, and cute. It's small, but for two people who really only used it to sleep it was plenty. I would definitely stay again!
- Corinne (10/5): - Everything was great! It was in the perfect location for some hiking.
- Stefanie (10/5): Cozy and peaceful with all the amenities! - We had a great stay at the Pavilion at the Park. We stayed in a cottage and it had everything we needed. Liked the fact it had a mini fridge and microwave. It was within 20 minutes from Rickets Glen State Park. The area is so quiet and peaceful and the sky was just amazing and filled with stars. Received a text from the owner, Margie, confirming our stay and she provided the code for the cottage, which was amazing since we were arriving late. Great communication and instructions inside cottage were on point. Definitely will stay again when visiting the area!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Clean, outdated furnishings - Very outdated. Mattress was like sleeping on a board. Only one chair which was very old. No stuffing left in seat. Very uncomfortable. No directions in room for the tv. I suggest having two chairs or one love seat. Newer towels as theirs were very worn. It was very clean, just very uncomfortable.
No tea towel to dry dishes. Overall a nice place. Owner not onsite, but responded to our concerns by text.
- tara (10/5): - Very cozy cute and clean! The owner was awesome and accommodating. Highly recommend
- Michelle (10/5): - The property is very safe, quiet, and very close to my father’s nursing home. Margie is a wonderful host!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Another great trip - We’ve been visiting Sullivan county for years, but we only recently found out about this place. It is beautiful, clean, and the owner is attentive to guests’ needs.
- Ilya (10/5): - The sink in the bathroom is a bit clogged.
Everything else was perfect.
- georgie (10/5): - Great quiet, peaceful, relaxing stay
- William (10/5): - I came to the area to view the Aurora. This was an Excellent choice for quiet and convenience!! And the owner is totally sweet! Thanks for hosting!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Clean, good condition, Sullivan County fresh air!! - Located just off of Rt. 220! Clean, well-decorated for the season, quiet, good communication via text for self check-in/check-out, with a low hassle index. Highly recommend!
- Kenneth (10/5): - This area is very nice. The staff was very accommodating and caring. I was very pleased with the cabin rental and would recommend this place.
- Martha (10/5): - Staff was very accommodating
- Philip (8/5): - No staff on property. Hotels.com did not indicate a bnb and I might have a 2nd floor room. Pictures indicate cabins no rooms in a house. I had to struggle getting my suitcase the stairs. Next morning te creamer barged into my room while I was dressing. Later the cleaner stated the owner said my room was to be vacant and she apologized. Town is nice and safe. Dining is available in eagles mere.
- Steve (6/5): - The property was very quaint and cute! Rooms were good size! Smell.in room d
Gave me headaches and couldn't sleep not sure what it was! Didnt like that everything was done in text or email no human contact! Nothing was around for miles and thing that were there didnt open till 9 or ten totally inconvenient. The amenities were limited! The owner was very nice on phone but never met abyone that ran the place
- Susan (10/5): - Property was lovely. Owner was so helpful. I would highly recommend this cozy property.
- Jodi (10/5): Overnight getaway - Host was amazing before and during our stay. Property was as portrayed in the pictures. Was super cute. Would stay there again.
- Celeste (8/5): - The property was nice for a night. The price was reasonable. We needed a room due to a storm as we were going to be camping in a tent. The listing said a “room” but I thought It was one of the pictured cabins. it was actually in a house with a door code and each room had a door code to use. This is what I imagine a bed and breakfast would be like without the breakfast. We had a loveseat which turned into a twin bed, a double bed small table and chairs and a mini fridge and microwave. I think the little cabins have more for cooking. We parked on the street and had a truck full of stuff that no one bothered with. We walked a bit and the grounds nearby were quiet and well maintained. The locals were friendly. The host texted me the information on how to get in and was available for questions. Bathroom was modern and clean as well. You needed to drive to reach a restaurant or store. We found an ice cream shop that had good sandwiches.
- Purdy (10/5): - Great communication
- sonja (8/5): - We loved the property. I would suggest having a mattress pad on the mattress. Not the most comfortable.
- JEFFREY (8/5): Comfy hotel in remote area - One day stay to visit Worlds End State Park area and local hiking trails. Hotel was clean and comfortable. Only negative complaints are TV did not work do to poor Wi-Fi reception. It sounded like owner was working on this issue.
- Ernest (10/5): Fantastic - We really enjoyed our stay. Even better than expected.. Very clean and comfortable. Great location.. No Complaints whatsoever.
- Caroline (10/5): - Nice little bungalow for a weekend getaway. You have a pin code to enter the property, there was no manager there, and we never needed to use the service contact information we were given. Laporte is a quiet community (even though there was a town festival on our weekend, lol), but it is surrounded by beautiful state parks. One is called World's End, and that name gives you a good sense what you are in for in the area. For us, it was just our domicile for the night, there are no restaurants or bars close by, but we were able to find everything we needed in the surrounding area. We very much appreciated having a fridge and microwave, that helped us stay self-sufficient for most of the time. We had a wonderful quiet weekend, with lots of hiking.
- Jane (8/5): - Beautiful Victorian home with a host that was very responsive. Plenty of space in the rooms.
- Dana (10/5): - We loved staying at The Pavilion at the Park! The ease of checking in and out plus communication from the staff was great!
- Alex (8/5): - location and property was great. I booked as had some meetings to do in the morning and the advert said it had great wifi. Unfortunately the wifi wasnt working. The manger told me another person had complained and it wasnt fixed for the second day I was there. They did offer for me to use the wifi on the outside porch which worked but it was a bit cold and noisey to be having video calls. I would check before booking if wifi is working as there is no 4g/5g either if you need it for work etc.
- Karen (8/5): - Nice old world charm. Very clean and quiet. The shower had great water pressure and a full spray. Room had all you need for a short stay. Only negatives were the air conditioner was extremely loud, which made sleeping hard for me. The mattress could have used a topper. It was a bit lumpy and hard along with the pillows. All and all a nice stay. Would stay again, but in different room. Nice and needed option in Sullivan county.
- Hannah (8/5): - Place was lovely and cozy, was easily able to contact owner and figure out where we were and where we needed to go, and the folks around the area were helpful as well. An all-around good getaway spot for hubby and I in the PA wilderness away from town. <3
- Katherine (10/5): - Clean, comfortable efficiency for a great price.
- Bruce (10/5): - Great, large room with good kitchenette in Laporte. Only issue is the big step into and out of the bathroom, no ideal for less mobile people. Otherwise a great place and a great location.
- Christina (10/5): - Host messaged me a few days ahead with our code to get in. Everything was clean and tighty. Host had instructions throughout the room on how to work Everything. I gave "Service" a 4 only due to us having no human interactions.
- paul (8/5): - The only thing we didn't like was that the bed was terrible. When people travel they like 2 things. Clean place and a comfortable bed.
I think all it was , was a cheap memory foam on a medal bed frame. We stayed in Cabin #5
- Daniel (10/5): Laporte peace and quiet. - Super Clean and comfortable. Beautiful location and peaceful quiet setting. Great accomodation. Excellent room and outside setting to chill and relax across from a park. No traffic, no noise, no hassle. Thanks Pavilion at Laporte. Our favorite vacation.
- Patricia (10/5): - The person in charge was very pleasant and accommodating.
- Wha (10/5): - .
- Kimberlie (8/5): - Spacious, clean, and comfortable.
- eileen (10/5): - Owner responsive and helpful. The property is charming and the quality of our studio was a GREAT value. Thank you!
- Craig (10/5): - Excellent value - clean, bright, quiet. Unfortunately the nearby general store/restaurant is now closed for good, so need to drive some miles to get food. State Park is a close drive.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice. Nothing fancy. More hotel room like. No hair dryer. Suited our purpose!
- Michael (10/5): - Loved this place! The cottages are fantastic. Margie the owner was so friendly to deal with. I definitely recommend it, and I will stay there again.
- Daniel (10/5): Amazing spot - The experience was great. The owner is amazing. Truly felt welcome the entire visit. Completely exceeded my expectations.
- Julia (10/5): - I have stayed in both regular rooms and in efficiency apartments on this property, and both have met my needs and expectations. I love the hiking trails in Sullivan County; Laporte streets provide quiet morning wake up and quiet evening winding down walks as well.
- Kathy (10/5): - It was our second time staying here and it was the perfect location for us.
- Ben (10/5): Peaceful place - It was excellent and clean and peaceful
- Lisa (10/5): Awesome vacation spot - It was beyond what we expected, i would definitely recommend to everyone..well worth the money, very quiet and relaxing area
- Karen (10/5): Great business trip! - What a great room! Very clean and comfortable!
- Rebecca (10/5): - Property was nice and safe. The room was clean and comfortable.
- Jacob (10/5): - Hotel fashioned to a old home feeling with modern furnishings. Very nice and quaint.
- Joseph (10/5): - A nice quiet space to take a meditative break from the pace of everyday life. I go up after Thanksgiving and enjoy the mountains of Sullivan county. There's a decent restaurant a block and a half away, and The Barn in Eagles Mere has good food in a friendly atmosphere. Marge is helpful and friendly. She upgraded my room to a fine apt, without my asking
- Anna (10/5): - Everything was lovely! I nice stay that was almost like a bed and breakfast. Absolutely charming!
- Xiaokun (10/5): - Very clean for a comfortable stay. Nice neighborhood for walking with fresh air in mountains and colorful autumn views.
- mili224 (10/5): Pavilion on the Park is a very nice choice - Lovely inn near Worlds End and Ricketts Glen State Parks. There was no property manager on-site, but we had good communication by phone (mostly texts) with them. I thought she said we would be getting a mini-cabin but ended up with room 4 in the main house on the 2nd floor. Large, quiet and very clean room with a bit of a valley view out back. The property is also very well kept and had nice "homey" fall decorations. The town of Laporte is small but had a pizza/Italian restaurant. We didn't eat there but spoke with someone who worked there. He was friendly and gave us advice on where to have breakfast the next morning in a nearby town of Dushore, (10 minute drive). We drove to Dushore the following morning and ate at The Jolly Trolley cafe which was so charming, like a movie set out of the 1950's. Overall I would easily stay at Pavillion in the Park again based on value, cleanliness and room.
- Harald (10/5): - This is my 2nd stay at The Pavilion, and both times it came through with flying colors. Each time I visit Ricketts Glen SP I stay here. It's great to have the privacy of a small cabin.
- Meagan (10/5): 10/10 will stay again. - The stay was absolutely perfect. Hot hot hot water in the shower, nice and clean room. Super friendly staff. I would absolutely stay again, and bring my dog!
- Fred (10/5): - I really enjoyed staying here. It was nice, quiet and clean and the merchants in the area were very nice especially the the folks at Laporte Cafe!
- William (10/5): Would definitely stay again - Great location and very reasonable cost. Would definitely stay again!
- Margaret (10/5): - It was a cute little place. I wish I had more time to enjoy it.
- Amanda (10/5): - Easy check-in and beautiful property!
- Chali (10/5): Exactly what I was looking for! - My girlfriend and I have a yearly tradition of hiking for our birthday. This year we chose Tickets Glen and it did not disappoint! We wanted a little place to stay so in the evening we could sit and chat after a long walk. Pavilion at the Park was absolutely perfect! The rooms were very cute and clean, comfortable beds, and the communication from the owner was fantastic. We actually sat in the pavilion with a bottle of wine that evening and chatted for quite a while! This is definitely a place we will be visiting again next time we come back.
- Sara (2/5): - We would not go back. Hairs in the bathroom … felt like we were going to fall thru the floor in the shower. Deck boards felt unsafe outside … the list could
Go on and on. VERY run down looking and not worth the $170-$190 per night price tag. Price tag should be $70 per night max and that’s only because it’s a place to sleep. No maid service - no fresh towels - everything was just run down and not cute like the pics look. The remotes didn’t even work! We had to buy batteries just to watch tv but we could not even watch tv bc the internet was terrible.
I rate this place a zero and will never go back.
- Wanda (10/5): - We love the Pavilion. It’s a beautiful place in a beautiful town. Our accommodations were beyond what we expected. Very comfortable, very pretty, we had everything we could have wanted for our stay. We’ll definitely return to the Pavilion. I’d love to see it in winters snow.
- Helen (10/5): - Very clean an friendly. We had a wonderful time and our room was so big and comfortable.
- georjeana (10/5): Great Place - This place is great, want a cottage-got it, want a kitchenette-got it, friendly, quaint, area!!
- ROGER (8/5): - Clean and quiet room.
- MICHAEL (8/5): - I’m a straight-shooter, so here we go.
Lovely accommodations, aside from the mini-fridge, which was very physically beat-up, and made loud noises, which awakened me during the night. A significant eyesore in an otherwise lovely room. The fridge also had a very strange handwritten sign, warning of a “$500 fine” in the event that an occupant unplugged it. I had to reread that one a few times!
- Tsuyoshi (10/5): - Got a room in main building for a night. Clean room beautiful setting. Did not see anyone from the inn as we were given number codes for entry via text. No shampoo conditioner or body lotion but we were given that information ahead of time. Surrounding area has spotty reception so map app may not work (also forewarned via text) so having screenshot of the map of the area helped big time. Overall very pleasant experience.
- Wanda (10/5): - The studio room where we stayed appears to have been renovated very recently. It was very nice, clean, had all of the amenities we needed. Very.comfortable and located pretty near everything we wanted to see or do.
- NANCY (10/5): - Lovely room, spotlessly clean. I received the door and room access codes via text before arriving. So easy! The property is quiet, lots of parking, the grounds are well kept. Highly recommend.
- Judd (8/5): - Beautiful property. Too bad Laporte has no businesses
- Deb (10/5): - I have nothing bad to say about my stay. Very clean. Staff extremely friendly, polite and helpful.
- Stephen (10/5): Lovely building, good accommodations, low price - We were only at The Pavilion at the Park for one night as needed a place to stay near Eagles Mere that, frankly, was less pricey. And it was that. The price was very reasonable. It fully met our needs. It's a lovely building to boot.
- Daniel E (10/5): - Been here about 6 stays over a number of years. Service great, clean and comfortable, always. Great place at a great location at a great price.
- Julia (10/5): - This was my 3rd stay at Pavilion at the Park. Communication has always been easy and prompt.
- Nathan (10/5): - Quiet and relaxing place to stay.
- MaryPat (2/5): - They never answer the phone or use email. On internet wrong phone number. area code not 540 but 570. there email on outlook does not work. Cable TV impossible to operate. Toilet so small an very close to floor.
But Most Important my cell phone was in bed when leaving on tuesday and they never contacted me or family 1/8 mile from Pavilion. I had to send my cus to pick up cell on friday. Not very professional employees working there. How important do you thing you cell phone is? with all the info an data you put on it?
- Kathy (10/5): - The weather was unseasonably cold, and we weren't really prepared for it. At first our room was very cold, and we were unable to get the heater to blow warm air. Called the owner, who immediately offered to change our room and also brought a space heater to fix the problem. So good of her! Would definitely recommend this place.
- Lori (10/5): - Place was very clean
Never met host but communication was very clear and helpful
Would stay again and am recommending to friends and family
Had a very enjoyable stay
Ideal accommodations!
- Bob (10/5): - Very nice accomodations
- Kanako (10/5): - The area of this property didn’t have a good connection of the internet. We had some struggles to get the way until arriving at there. I suggest that the visitors research the way beforehand. The property itself was excellent however no reception was open. Need to watch the text messages from the property.
- Doris (8/5): - a very nice place!
- David (6/5): - Received a nice message previous to arrival. Nice stay for one night. HVAC very noisy.
- becky (8/5): - This was a nice quiet little get away. Folks were all very friendly, food at the Trading Post was great! Less than a block from the Pavilion. Staff at the pavilion very communicative and helpful.
- Mitchell (10/5): - Host was absolutely wonderful and the room was very large and clean. Will be using this hotel for some of our guests at our upcoming wedding.
- Lori (10/5): - It was very clean and the room was lovely.
- Robert (10/5): - We throughly enjoyed out stay, and plan to visit again in warmer months! The nearby Falls Trail was unfortunately closed do to cold weather conditions.
- Kathryn (10/5): - Awesome little cabin , clean, cozy all needed amenities
- Maria (10/5): Laporte, an hidden gem!!! - The place is located in a quaint neighborhood. My room was clean, spacious, the AC/heat conditioning works very well & the water pressure was awesome 👏
The surrounding area is immaculate. The Pavilion is not far from the main roads or neighboring counties. Margie, the owner, was very accommodating & gave me a list of places to eat at.
- Dennis (8/5): - Our overnight stay was peaceful and quiet. The cottage was clean, well organized with information about amenities in the area. It was convenient and close to where I needed to report to work.
- Ciji (10/5): - It’s small, quiet and peaceful. The little town is adorable. Will definitely stay there again.
- Jeremy (10/5): - Very nice room and the checkin process was seamless. They gave us great information about local surroundings
- Verified traveler (10/5): Absolutely loved out stay and our pet loved it too - Everything about this place was amazing- the hospitality(even though we never met a single workong staff from the hotel in person) , the cleanliness, the service and the surroundings. Lovely, quiet and spacious well lit studio ❤
Lots of grass and even a walkway to walk the dog
Close to beautiful state parks!!
Will definitely stay here again. Zero negative things to say here❤❤❤
- Deborah (10/5): - I was very concerned about COVID due to upcoming surgery. As soon as I stepped into the house I felt safe. There was no interaction with other guests and the room was spotless! Very nice set-up and will definitely stay again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Very Clean - Quick response to questions and provided list of restaurants in the area. They upgraded our room which was really good. Everything very clean. It was quiet too.
Only issue was the shower head, which was pouring water in every direction except in the middle where it was needed. Shower head needs replacement.
Would I stay again, YES.
