Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (4/5): Passez votre chemin !
- Kenneth (10/5): - Lovely staff and good breakfast
- Shamsher (10/5): Wonderful country living - The owner of BKC villas came to the dock and personally picked me up and brought me to the hotel. The bed in the hotel room was extremely comfortable and the first bed here in Asia that was high and very easy for me to get into.
- michael (4/5): Bait and switch on room type - Seems like the hotel can't understand that when you reserve a king size bed months in advance and they offer you 2 twin beds; that you might be a little upset... they basically told me too bad for you and said they were sold out... sadly I've stayed here before and could not believe their indifference to their mistake.... but they know that you are only there for one night on the slow boat... they now have a breakfast buffet which had lots of fresh fruit and was better than average... just be aware that at the end of the day they don't really care.
- Davy (8/5): - We stayed for just one night, so didn’t spend too much time here. Reception staff was not very friendly neither talkative. Upon checkout he was still sleeping behind the desk and didn’t want to get up. We could get breakfast to take with us on the boat, which was nice.
Bed was very hard and uncomfortable.
- Brian (8/5): - Solo traveler, was perfect solution. Not fancy but good location, nice people and made me a great breakfast sandwich for early departure
- Melissa (10/5): - Good place to stay when doing the slow boat. Friendly owner and breakfast was good.
- Anthony (6/5): - Very pleasant staff, the property is very dated but in decent working condition. Very close to the dock for the slow boat.
- Simon (6/5): Good bed and breakfast - Very comfortable bed. Delicious breakfast. Music from Happy Bar which was in close proximity.
- Helen (6/5): - Good location
- William (4/5): - Unclean rooms, unclean bedding, the dining area was next to a construction/junk area. There was a loud bar right next door.
- Paulo (6/5): - I believe that this property could normally get a 4-5 stars rating in a value-based rating, but due to overbooking I got a room in a building undergoing renovation. The room itself was clean, but there was construction dust and building materials everywhere around it. Hence my experience was disappointing. The owners are very kind, and the breakfast was good. My take: you can stay here quite comfortably, but confirm beforehand that your room is the their main building.
- Daniel (10/5): - Perfect choice for your Mekong River journey.
The manager of the hotel picked me up at the pier and also dropped me off.
- Dillon (10/5): great stay free pickup - Great stay great location, they pick you up from the slow boat and take you there the following day- this wasnt clear to us and we walked up to it, I wish they had contacted us to let us know
- Mark (10/5): Respite after a long travel day - After a very long day on the Mekong River slow boat, we were thrilled to find our hotel was neat, comfortable, and welcoming. It was up the hill from all the hubbub and we got a good nights rest.
Do not expect a soft bed, however.
- GUY (10/5): - Ok
- shohan (6/5): - The bed wasn’t clean and the hot water in the shower wasn’t working.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice and cozy spot for the night. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Food was good and the room was clean.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Basic room, good for one night during slow boat trip.
- David (10/5): The best stay in the city - It's the best choice for this town. You're guarantee a good night of sleep. The young men's that will serve you are the most smiley and professional. The owner speaks perfect English. Make sure to ask for a sandwich to go for your second day on the slow boat. It's also right behing Happy Bar which is the most fun bar in town but you don't hear it at night.
- Katie (10/5): Great for a night - Comfortable bed, hot shower, great for a stop over and close to places to eat
- Verified traveler (8/5): Recommended for a night - To be honest, BKC exceeded our expectations. Comfortable, friendly, good wifi, Central, OK breakfast. Good place to spend a night on the Mekong trip.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location, helpful staff, tasty food in restaurant.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Staff were very helpful & breakfast was fantastic. Rooms were reslly clean. Only slight downside was a buildibg site in front of the hotel so the view of the river was obscured.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The owners and staff are so friendly, helpful and kind. Nothing seems to be too much trouble. I booked this place for two mates. One of them had his birthday so the staff made him a special treat of Blue, mango sticky rice!!
Also alles was das Herz begehrt.
- Laurel (8/5): Simple but pleasant hotel in a convenient location - Simple but pleasant hotel with a nice breakfast. The host picked us up and dropped us off at the dock. Lovely river views. Convenient location.
- Nolan (10/5): - Decent hotel for a one night stay via slowboat
- Michael (6/5): Mekong Pakbeng - Basic hotel for one night doing slow boat on Mekong. Room ok but food not too good. Otherwise all fine.
- Russell (8/5): Good break on our river trip. - We stayed one night in the middle of our trip down the Mekong on the Nagi of the Mekong. Staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant was perched above the river and served good food. In the morning we could see the Elephants at the river.
- M (6/5): - Adequate accomodayion for 1 night stopover during cruise down Mekong. We had a room with a king size bed (3 singles pushed together) which only allowed for walkinng space on onr side of the bed. Bed andcbcpillows were comfortable. Bathroom was a good size. Small walkway outfront overlooking river. Loud music from nearby Happy Bar but we were ao tired it didnt keep us awake. Breakfast was good and we did get to watch w elephants from afar. Staff pleasant. All and all a good experuence.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice place, great staff, reasonable price, they were there to meet me at the boat. What more could you want.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Descent stay - We were only staying for one night on our 2 day slow boat trip. The hotel was clean but is in need of some updating. The bed was fairly uncomfortable. It was totally fine for one night but I’m not sure if I’d want to stay more. Breakfast was pretty good, and we got to watch the elephants across the river while eating our breakfast which was great!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Lovely manager - When the manager picked us up he offered me a free upgrade
- Jukka (8/5): Really good - Super kind owner ! Room was a bit old fashioned, but in style. Bed was very good and we even got a gift from owner as we left! Really recommend !
- Marcia (8/5): Good place . - It was a good stay. We stayed one night and was all we need. Clean hotel, and close to the pier. The food was good too and staff were very friendly.
