- Giuseppe (10/5): Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet and lovely retreat. - Wonderful room, spacious and overlooking lush gardens. The staff were excellent, attentive, kind and enthusiastically helpful.
- Olivier (9/5): -
- Rosstopher1234 (10/5): Beautiful and peaceful place to stay - This place is absolutely beautiful. The rooms are huge with the most beautiful view. The family who run the hotel are wonderful, friendly and so helpful. We only stayed one night before taking the Laos cruise. We really wished we stayed longer here instead of Chiang Rai. HIGHLY recommend staying here. Nothing not to like.

- Stephen (10/5): Bonlinger take: This is a place to truly dwell. Family-run, peaceful, and deeply local. - A hidden gem in a stunning natural setting. The property sits on expansive grounds with gardens and beautiful views, and our room felt more like a private suite than a hotel stay.
What made it special was the people. Nak (the owner’s son) is an exceptional host — passionate, generous, and deeply connected to the area (and his motorbike tours are worth considering). And Auntie’s Northern Thai dinner? Easily the standout meal of our entire trip — authentic, generous, and cooked with real heart.
Bonlinger take: This is a place to truly dwell. Family-run, peaceful, and deeply local — the kind of stay that stays with you. We didn't stay long enough!
- Leonyra (10/5): -
- Liem (10/5): - The staff was exceptional! Veryfriendly, respecful and accomodating. We were there for one night just fir the boat trip, so the location was convenient. Highly recommended.

- Lauren (10/5): Amazing stay wish we’d stayed longer - We had an amazing stay at Baan Sakuna. We got a free upgrade to a room with a view over the Mekong but regardless we’re sure any room would have been lovely. The rooms were spotless, amazing shower and comfortable beds. The staff were also really lovely, Nak went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable he was so friendly! We wouldn’t stay anywhere else if we came again! Nothing
- William (10/5): Wonderful owner who makes you feel at home. - Huge & clean room. Air con worked perfectly. Beautiful views. Spotless bathroom.
- Christine (10/5): It was a lovely stay. - Everything- location, atmosphere, super friendly owner, tasteful and good equipped, clean rooms Nothing

- Anne (10/5): Nice convenient and charming hotel - Very convenient location to go to the frontier but also to visit North Thailand. We arrived very late and our host kindly sent us the menu to order in order for us to have diner before restaurant closure. The room was big,all equipments worked well and the furniture were nice and chosen with care. The restaurant was very cosy and food was good. Nothing. Would have liked to stay longer to benefit from the swimming pool.

- william (10/5): Brilliantly run - Fantastic family run hotel. Everything worked perfectly and rooms were very well thought out and set out.
Fantastic food in the restaurant
A joy
- Tamara (10/5): Perfect 2 night stay! - Beautiful views, peaceful location clean huge room. Lovely owners
- Fabian (10/5): - personal sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich!
- Martin (10/5): - Baan Sakuna was a lovely place to stay. The staff were wonderful from the moment we arrived, they could not have been more helpful, even getting bikes back on the road for us. Food was very tasty too. Great place. Nothing.
- Stephen (10/5): - Everything, staff were lovely Nothing
- angus (10/5): - Really enjoyed my stay here, the best place during my 3 week trip in Thailand. The room was very comfortable and spacious with beautiful views of the mekong river over the fields, very relaxing place. There are a few bars/restaurants nearby or can walk into town along newly built path alongside river, the restaurant on site is excellent though so no need to go anywhere. The family owners are very friendly and speak very good English.
- BEATRICE (10/5): - L'accueil.
- Joellen (9/5): Great place to stay before heading to the Mekong - Very convenient for taking one of the longboat cruises on the Mekong into Laos. The atmosphere is fun as almost all guests are overnighting before their cruise. They serve dinner and good cocktails too and the staff are all very friendly.
- lloyd (10/5): Lovely welcoming place. - Very peaceful location with excellent comfortable room. Our host was very friendly and helpful, early breakfast to allow plenty of time for border crossing and even help with paperwork was a bonus! Thank you. Nothing
- Jean-Pierre (10/5): Top verblijf. Absoluut niks.
- Chris (10/5): -
- Debby (10/5): Lovely break at an affordable price - Lovely grounds and setting. Beautiful, large room with balcony and view of countryside. Quiet and tranquil. Excellent walking paths overlooking the river. Excellent customer service. 👌 Nothing
- C.M. Niets
- Frank (10/5): The most relaxing place with incredible views from everywhere! Friendliest host, great food, big homely rooms, right on -
- Hessel (10/5): I would book again - Beter friendly hotel owner All was perfect
- Jan (10/5): - Everything was spotless. Excellent service. Best value for money in a long time. Would recommend anytime. Perfect stay. Best shower I had on my journey. I really enjoyed it. A Mosquito screen for the balcony door would have been nice.
- Darlana (10/5): Stay in Paradise - The property was beautiful! Everything from our room, view, dining area was spectacular. Our hostess was lovely, attentive to our questions and helpful by suggesting what to do. We had only a one night stay and next time it will be more! Absolutely nothing negative to say.
- Sylvia (9/5): Super hotel!
- Debbie (10/5): -
- Filthy Phil (8/5): - Food, cold beers & a lovely host
- John (10/5): Perfect choice before crossing the border - Very well organised and comfortable hotel. They arranged early taxi to the border to get the slow boat. Also had very efficient and tasty dinner and breakfast. The hotel had cycles to borrow and there is a fabulous cycle path alongside the Mekong into town which was a good way to spend a few hours before moving on. Nothing
- Anthony (10/5): Tout simplement parfait.
- Hans-Peter (10/5): Ein Vorbild - Fantastisch in allen belangen Müsste etwas erfinden was es nicht gab
- Dana (10/5): Wonderful place to stay - Lovely place to stay and kind local owner. We ate dinner and breakfast here and it was very fresh and tasty. Nothing we didn’t like!
- Chelsea (10/5): - Stunning property, great view, and the lady at the desk was exceptional. Rooms were big, spacious, clean, and had beautiful furniture. The food was amazing, the location was gorgeous. Would visit again just to stay at this property. My advice book an extra day here. Nothing at all
- Anna (9/5): Angenehmer Aufenthalt - Alles sauber bequem Sehr ringhörig - obere Etage jeder Schritt hörbar.
- Karl (10/5): -
- Trevis (10/5): Baan Sakuna, a beautiful and restful place. - We loved how peaceful this property was. The views from the restaurant/lounge area of the farm land and mountains is absolutely splendid. Nothing. It was wonderful.
- Patricia Ann Helena (9/5): - Tolle Unterkunft, gerne wieder.
- Veronique (10/5): Great place. - Lovely hotel, lovely owner. Highly recommend.
- bernd (9/5): - Sehr freundliches Personal
Ambiente sehr gemütlich
Schöne Natur
- ursula (8/5): Comfy bed and spacious clean and nicely arranged room - It’s originality and the view. The bed was comfy and the shower was hot. The room was huge and very clean. The restaurant is on a Terrace and in Winter quite chilly in the mornings and at Night. Food was ok but not so special.
Niets.
- Russell (9/5): -
- Mirte (10/5): Great stay! - Great hospitality, comfortable bed, good shower, and good food. The lady who runs the lodge is more then helpful and very kind.

- Marcel (10/5): Adembenemend - Alles Niets
- Webber (10/5): Tranquility and hospitality. - The hosts are amazing- very hospitable- we felt like family. We had our dinner meal as well as breakfast. The food was delicious- authentic local fresh. 100% recommended. All was 200%
- Bocah Merlong (9/5): -
- Herwig (10/5): Excellent - Our second visit and we were equally impressed by the genuine hospitality of Mai & Nak. It’s been a perfect 5 nights getaway from it all. Spacious room, tasty breakfast if needed. Wheelchair friendly. Close to the Mekong and many nice places to explore in the neighborhood.
- Carin de Visser (10/5): A great stay in a lovely place! - Nice, clean, very big room and a lovely staff, a great view, what More do you need?
- Nick (10/5): -
- Suzanne (10/5): Our stay at Baan Salina Hotel was a delight. - My husband and I loved this hotel. Everything from the moment we arrived was exceptional. The room was large and spotlessly clean. The meals were delicious and the view was spectacular. We only stayed one night but would highly recommend this hotel.
- Andre (10/5): -
- Adrian (9/5): - Wonderful rooms and view from restaurant / bar. Very helpful staff. Great breakfast sausage!
- Rodney (10/5): Amazing Surprise in Chiang Khong. - 78 y/o Aussies. December 2025 This is an exceptional property. Huge grounds & gardens. Easy walk to bank of Mekong. Rooms are huge, balcony, views, all facilities. Restaurant area is magnificent. Food was superb., not expensive. May(?) The owner, Manager, all round organiser is priceless. Unfortunately we could only stay 1 night on way to border crossing to Laos. Should have booked a week. Key word is exceptional, allow more than overnight. The absolute best Irish Coffee anywhere in the world & we have had a few. Jokingly, would have loved a few Elephants wandering around the gardens as i sipped my gin tonic. . It is that sort of place.
- Martin (10/5): -
- John (10/5): Perfect. - My second stay here. Lovely hotel, lovely staff. Highly recommend. Nothing
- peter (10/5): - Very friendly staff, free bike ,and food was excellent 👌
- Jonathan (10/5): -
- Lina Teresa (10/5): - Everything, the garden, the view to the nature from the room, very clean and bed very comfy. The lady who organised the train to Laos and very smily
- Renate (9/5): Definitely a great place to stay in Chang Khong - Quiet location with beautiful kept grounds amidst lush green trees. Rooms were spacious and clean, beds with nice bed linens. The owner and family and their staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful.
- Aijaijai Blum (10/5): - Mai and Nak were the loveliest hosts that we've had on our whole one month journey. Thank you so much for your warm welcome and all the delicious food!
They cook everything from scratch and all the food was really really good! Some of the best on our whole journey. They make their own bread and jam, etc as well.
We felt right at home here.
The room was even nicer than in the images, very spacious, beautiful traditional solid wood furniture, amazing views from the private balcony, comfy bed and a nice big bathroom.
We would've loved to stay longer!
Thank you so much for your lovely warm welcoming hospitality Mai and Nak!
- Andrew Cross (10/5): A really great place to stay. Very convenient for crossing the bridge into Laos. - An excellent hotel. Very welcoming and well run. Lovely location close to the Mekong river. Nothing at all to dislike.
- Yannick (10/5): -
- Daniel (9/5): -
- Janine (9/5): - Amazing staff, beautiful location, incredible rooms
- Kirsty L (9/5): Excellent! - My partner and I stayed here for one evening, we arrived late in the afternoon and left sharp in the morning. Upon arrival the staff were very helpful, friendly and accommodating. Our room was beautiful, very clean and had the most amazing views. We ate in the restaurant and had a couple of drinks to soak up the beautiful views. Both my partner and I said we would high,y recommend. The only comment to make is that there really is nothing around this hotel, it is very secluded. But, we knew this when we booked and it was perfect for what we needed! Definitely not a negative just a point to make if people are thinking of booking.
- Helen (10/5): Perfect stay - Everything!! Huge, comfortable, spotlessly clean room and bathroom with beautiful views. Great food for breakfasts and dinners. Peaceful location. Lovely hosts. I borrowed a bicycle and went into town along the path next to the Mekong which was a great way to spend some time. There is nothing to not like. I just wish I’d booked to stay for longer - 2 nights definitely not enough!
- stark2015 (10/5): Tutto ok - Tutto
- BrookeD (10/5): - Beautiful place with great views. The staff were super friendly. Room was large, comfy and clean.
Would definitely stay again.
- Augusto (9/5): - The hotel location is outside the main centre of Chieng Khong, in a quit zone with a wonderful view on the sorrounding landscape. Rooms are spacious and well equipped, the restaurant serves delicious food and brakfast, and the owner/staff are very attentive and helpful.
- Stefan (10/5): -
- Pep.59 (10/5): - Alles.

- Peter (10/5): Very pleasant stay. - Our stay was very nice. Great location, very peaceful, excellent service and great value. We will stay here again the next time we are in Chiang Khong.
- John (10/5): An oasis in Chiang Khong - Baan Sakuna Hotel is situated I. A quiet part of Chiang Khong away from the town noises. There are views of the local countryside, the Mekong River, and the hills of Laos. It is a beautiful oasis that makes one feel chilled and at home instantly. The hosts Mai and Nak are so very friendly, helpful and generous. The breakfast and all meals are absolutely delicious. All products used are local and carefully chosen. The bread is locally made. The jams locally made. The vegetables and meats are locally grown. Most of the vegetables are grown on the hosts farm. The meals are full of flavour, home made with love and cooked with passion. Great coffee! The room was absolutely spotless as was the entire resort. The bathroom was also spotless and well appointed. Highly recommend this stay if you are in Chiang Khong. It is a walk into town via the Mekong promenade or a quick tuk tuk ride. The town has lovely restaurants and good coffee! There was nothing to not like at all
