Guest Reviews
- Bjarne Anders (8/5): - Central beliggenhed
- Karen (10/5): - Right in the centre of town, very grand entrance and reception area.Joanna on reception was a credit to the hotel.Very courteous and informative.Parking is chargeable and has restrictions. It is possible to drive around the square and locate free(after 8pm)parking.Surprisingly breakfast was as good as ai had hoped although it is included in the booking.
- Veronica (8/5): Great location NO A/C uncomfortable beds - Hass a fantastic location, within walking distance to the city center, with plenty of restaurants, bars, and shops nearby. However, the rooms lack air conditioning, and the old fan provided is insufficient for hot weather. The beds are a major letdown, with very thin and uncomfortable mattresses.
If you're looking for a central location and don't mind sacrificing comfort, Julia Hotel might be suitable for a one-night stay. However, if you prioritize a good night's sleep, you might want to consider other options. The hotel's location is its strongest asset, but the room conditions hold it back from being a top recommendation.
- Julie (10/5): - Close to bars and restaurants.
- Joaquín (8/5): Agradable - Ninguna queja, buen sitio para quedar... Buena limpieza y personal amable
- Aitor (10/5): - All very good.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Hotel centrico.
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Stayed for one night while visiting Ribera del Duero area, hotel is conveniently located steps from the main square and close to a few restaurants/ shopping area. The staff were very friendly and provided recommendations for dinner options close by. There was no AC in the room but as we stayed during February - we had no issues.
- Inma (10/5): - TODO PERFECTO
- Sian (8/5): - Excellent staff friendly courteous and helpful. Hotel exceptionally clean. Breakfast fine food and drink options well monitored and refilled.
Generous size lounge great to chill with a glass of wine. Thank you we enjoyed our stay
- Peter (10/5): One night in Aranda de Douro - Very nice hotel. Friendly, helpful staff.
Aranda de Douro is a nice little town with a pedestrianised centre full of shops bars and restaurants. Place was buzzing when I stayed, and the hotel is right next to the pedestrian bit so you don't have to go looking for it. Suggest you ask about parking if you're going to stay.
Only down side was the roadworks, but they're not going to last forever
- Sandra (8/5): - Bien comunicado y silencioso.
- Juan Pablo (10/5): - Todo correcto
- Paul (10/5): Great place to stay - The man on reception was brilliant. Could park my motorcycle right outside. Bar and restaurants very near. Room was great.
- Julia (8/5): Muy correcto - Super limpio, habitacion y cama . Pequeña,
- David (10/5): - Considerate staff. Spotless condition. Staying is a real pleasure. Wonderful location too.
- Alan (8/5): Pleasant central quier - Nice hotel in the centre of Aranda, very pleasant staff
- Maria T (6/5): - Staff poco cordiales
- Timothy (10/5): - The front desk personnel is super, especially the young woman who helped us in every respect. I think her name was Joanne.
- Grace (10/5): - A lovely, unique, boutique hotel with a friendly staff and perfect location. Highly recommend staying here!
- Ramon (10/5): - MUY BUEN HOTEL CALIDAD PRECIO ES MUY BUENO
- N (8/5): Would use again - All good
- Laura (8/5): - Muy buena
- Roger (8/5): Oranda stop over. - Oranda is a great place to stop on the way to the ferry in Santander. The food and wine is excellent.
The Hotel Julia is a typical city centre, medium priced hotel. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was on the small side but ok for a one night stay. Parking on street was easy and free between six pm and ten am. We would stay here again.
- Fernando (6/5): AVERAGE - NO GOOD PILLOWS ABSENCE OF POWER PLUG IN BOTH NIGHT TABLES AND LIGHTS IN THE ROOM NOT COZY
- Ramon (10/5): In the heart os Aranda de Duero - A small old hotel well kept and in the BEST location; in heart of the restaurants and bars district; just cross the street and you are there. Very friendly staff. Aranda de Duero is a very special town and Hotel Julia is in the center of it all. Don't miss this place.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Comfortable old world charm, well located, helpful staff
- James (10/5): Stopover - Location within walking distance of shops and restaurants. Decor typically spanish. Excellent.
- Janet (8/5): - Great location. Friendly staff. Will certainly stay again.
- squinthorizon (2/5): Don't stay here - The staff are lovely, the room was fairly clean, and the WiFi works. That is the end of the good news.
There is absolutely no sound-proofing between the rooms. I could hear every word spoken by my neighbours, you could hear them at the toilet, and every sound coming from the bed.......revolting!
There is no aircon, so you couldn't even try to mask the background noise.
One night a group of drunken "guests" burst out of the elevator at 4.30am, and proceeded to shout and bellow in the corridor. And every other evening my sleep was disturbed by the lift, and by inconsiderate guests talking loudly in the corridor.
What a pity.
- tezpil (6/5): Smart Up Front - Smart appearance in lobby and unusual old features on display on stairway and landings. Take the stairs , their is something of interest on each floor. Our basic room was clean. We only met two staff and both were a bit flustered but other than that it was an okay stop in a good location for town.
- LoisM830 (10/5): Fantastic - Exceptionally impressed with this hotel. Very reasonably priced. Our room was so well decorated, clean, quiet, and so very quaint. The WiFi worked very well. Location was perfect. The hotel desk was very helpful in restaurant suggestions. Would definitely stay there again..
- Stephanie349 (8/5): Great Location - Located in the centre of town, walk to all the small shops, churches, supermarkets, bars, restaurants, etc.. Hotel has its own cafeteria where you can have breakfast. Friendly reception and staff. Liked the triple room and efficient cleaning. Just did not like the less than half shower door even if the tub was large. In addition, there was a great Games Room.
- tigerandyx9 (8/5): Great for night and ... - It's one of my favorites because about 2 hours after leaving ferry from Bilbao or Santander I can relax, park my motorcycle in front, and go for a gorgeous asado de cordero, lamb roast, which is perhaps the best on Spain. The Asado is 100 yards away and owner is the same a hotel. He also owns 2 vineyards with excellent wine which you can drink with your lamb! Rooms are a bit small and antiquated but that is acceptable...
- jeremyw168 (4/5): Noisy stop-over - Ideally located and pristinely clean, this hotel has a noise-problem. Our Saturday night sleep was spoilt by the elevator's almost continuous use and noise from other rooms.
Breakfast was in an adjoining, but independent bar: the fresh orange juice was perfect, but the croissants were not fresh.
This being said, the old town is well worth the visit and it may be hard to find a better 'deal' than this hotel.
- wisetravellerman (6/5): Good triple room - Travellers have already reviewed this hotel extensively. It is a small hotel that definitely does not have the feeling of a big chain, located very centrally in Aranda Del Duero.
Since there isn't much to do in Aranda, apart from the very interesting visit to the underground maze of wine cellars, and relative wine tasting opportunity, I doubt that people will want to stay over many days. Unless they were using it as a base to visit other villages in the neighbourhood. Our stay in September was made more pleasant by a town fair - very much a local affair - featuring music and dancing on the different small squares the town has.
For the little that we stayed in Aranda, the Julia hotel worked perfectly. We were three friends and the triple room allowed us to keep the costs low (€80 for the group) but also to walk everywhere we wanted to. We parked the car at a parking lot around the corner from the hotel.
The staff was incredibly nice, the decor is a bit old fashioned, the room while not huge was big enough featuring 3 single beds, the bathroom was large with a big shower. The room was internal and offered no views, but as a result of that it was quiet. Although it still was hot outside and there is no aircon, three windows in the room offered enough ventilation to allow us to sleep decently. We had breakfast at the bar just facing the hotel.
This is no boutique hotel, but a slightly dated structure. Il will serve the purpose: you will not write home about it. But for that price you were probably never meant to.
- ShonaB488 (6/5): Good centre of town location - Happened upon Hotel Julia needing a room for the night. Typical better than average Spanish hotel with helpful staff. Nice Spanish decor. Room was clean and comfortable but nothing special. Good location for centre of town and restaurants. Easy to get out of town the next morning. Reasonably priced (9 Euro) secure parking down the street. No dining facilities for breakfast but they use bar/cafe next door. It was closed on the day we needed it though so went to another nearby cafe. OK for a mid road trip stop over.
- kaaljkmn (10/5): good one - Double room at €60 (no breakfast). Good room. Good service, very friendly, excellent location in the middle of town. Many restaurants in neighbourhood. Walk to Duero in 5 minutes. Aranda is well worth a visit for its cuisine and walks along the Duero.
- PDPD2010 (8/5): Very helpful staff, simple rooms but noisy in the mornings - We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in May 2012 for a wedding. A lot of the wedding guests including the bride were staying at this hotel. Overall, it is a good hotel with comfortable rooms and a clean functional bathroom. The staff was excellent.. very helpful! The only drawback was that we could hear a lot of noise from the corridors and other guests going in and out of their rooms.
