Guest Reviews
- stephen (8/5): A nice cosy stay, but please fix the shower! - Staff were really friendly and the room itself was nicely decorated and felt cosy. The location was also good! Appreciated the coffees and biscuits for the morning drive home. The shower in my room didn't work, and after coming in late from working this was really frustrating. I also personally found the pillows quite uncomfortable, but others may not find this to be the case. No breakfast was served either which isn't the end of the world, just good to be aware of if you wake up in the morning hungry. Lucky there was the biscuits!
- Julie (8/5): We were going to a wedding, so was just a base really , chef was friendly , bar person not so much , had a fish goujon s - Olde village pub/dining Nothing
- Dominic (7/5): A local pub for local people. - Setting. Setting.
- Stuart (7/5): - Good location food was good , lovely beer garden Shower Luke warm, bathroom door could do with cleaning
- Rupert (10/5): - Very good

- Alan (10/5): Fantastic food, lovely comfortable cosy room, friendly hosts, set in a charming rural village - The property had a very cosy warm feel about it. There was nothing we didn’t like really.
- Karl (8/5): Good value, good location, staff execplorary. - Clean, comfortable & accessible. That it closed early… but it was Xmas Day so not the end of the world.
- Jacqueline (8/5): If the above is sorted then it would be a excellent stay. - Nice cosy quiet room The mattress needs changing you could feel the springs.
How to get onto the Wi-Fi should be displayed in the room had to get it from the bar which was a QR code.
Wished they served breakfast
Couldn’t work the shower when I did it was cold also the radiator in bathroom wasn’t working
- Alexander (5/5): If you want to stay at this pub after drinking there you can. - Room itself was a good size and had a nice homely look to it. The shower pressure was awful and there was water leaking through the ceiling above the shower. Room was very cold.
- Lee (6/5): Great pub, average room, perhaps could be cheaper all things considered - Great pub, awesome food and staff The kitchen is adjacent to the room, cooking oil smell isn’t great as it wafts into the room.
The ground floor room entrance literally has the cooking oil containers by the door!
- Jillian (7/5): Good value for money. - Very good staff and in very peaceful area You could hear person walking around above the room.
- Donna (10/5): Lovely find would highly recommend - Great location & lovely friendly staff The room was fab

- Deborah (9/5): -
- Woodrow (8/5): Lovely village pub - Lovely country pub in a beautiful village.
Nice room & super comfy bed The room was nice but a little tired, could do with decorating to freshen it up.
Couldn’t regulate the temperature in the shower

- Beverley (8/5): -
- earnshaw (10/5): -
- Teresa (7/5): - Quiet, clean, well equipped The bed was quite hard and the bathroom was very small
- Kristina (3/5): Beautifully over priced - loved the setting of the place, beautiful village being charged twice by a snotty young man, basic room not worth 180 quid a night!
- Richard (8/5): Great stay for the Porsche Experience day :-) - The dinner and beer garden are great place to sit on a summer evening. just perfect for what we wanted and looked for. A country pub with overnight accommodation. No Breakfast - was told this before we booked so not a problem. Upstairs bedroom room had the smells of the kitchen which is not great, but once the kitchen finished cooking then all great..
- Angela (6/5): Relaxing - Lovely little pub with accommodation and very quiet location. Staff were very friendly and food was delicious.
- Sharon (9/5): Comfortable stay in a beautiful, friendly pub - Stayed here 4 times now. It’s handy to visit my son at Hinton Airfield. Lovely room attached to a beautiful country pub. Nice beer garden and lovely food. Feels very safe for a lone female traveller. Also been with my husband and room more than adequate for 2. Needs a new shower. Consistently cold.
- Lynn (9/5): A perfect overnight stop in a charming pub, lovely room and friendly staff. - A lovely country pub in a perfect location for our overnight stop. Lots of character and friendly staff, food was excellent. Nothing
- Stephen (10/5): Really enjoyed our stay and will return - Room was nice in a lovely quaint village. Pub was really good with friendly staff and the food was very good also.
- Verified traveler (8/5): The Crewe Arms - Lovely pub - we had lunch one day and the food was amazing. The staff are all really friendly. The room itself is a little tired but fine for one night.
- Karen (9/5): Excellent - staff extremely friendly & helpful n/a
- Gemma (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michelle (6/5): Pleasant - Location Very noisy floorboards above. Very noisy shower drain.
- Simon (8/5): Enjoyable stay - Good location. Friendly staff. Comfortable bed and a nice room and facilities.
- Alasdair (8/5): Lovely quiet area, all amenities were as described and Luke was super helpful. - Luke was very attentive and helpful. The food was really good too. Although the bedding was very clean, the bed itself could be replaced
- robert (4/5): - Room was ok needed a good clean though .. very disappointed as they advertised bed and breakfast and then after we arrived they said they don’t do them anymore and that was that …
- Angus (9/5): Great stay, strange payment structure - Really solid room and helped us quickly when unfortunately the key broke! The payment structure is strange they took a holding “deposit” for the whole amount and then also required payment on arrival - I’m still waiting for the payment that went through booking.com to come back - I’m sure it will but never had this arrangement before and I don’t like it
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good Value - Chose this stay to break a long journey and what a great choice. Had a nice meal and a few beers, so much nicer than a generic travel lodge, plenty of character and nice surroundings. Room was clean and functional with decent Wi-Fi for my needs.
- Roger (6/5): - Pub grub was excellent we even had steak and ale pie made by their own chef rather than bought in as a frozen meal. The main downside is that the pub occupies a very small building with two guest rooms the one we stayed in was located above the kitchen. This was not a problem at night but in the morning someone used a large mixer just before 6 am for about 15 minutes.
There is no breakfast available at the pub and no eating utensils or plates in the room. There are no local restaurants where you can have breakfast so be prepared to bring everything you need for breakfast. The manager made it clear that no breakfast could be provided.
- Clbonner (7/5): Good - The accommodation feeling separate to the pub. Car parking. Close to Silverstone and good pub with new nice food and drinks under £6! The room was very very dusty like it hasn't been used for a while, even thou the bedding did smell fresh. Bed was not comfortable for us and the shower while nice and hot made an horrendous noise assume due to how they had had to plumb in it I would have thought.
- James (4/5): Cheap but not cheerful - Uncomfortable bed, no food in the evening, uninterested staff. Dirty throw on the bed, hair on the duvet, dirts glasses in the room.
Very poor overall
- Jane (8/5): A vert warm welcome and wonderful food . - The hospitality and great food in the pub . Locks were a bit dodgy .
- Charly (10/5): Excellent food and place to stay - The room was so nice and the atmosphere of the whole place was lovely
- Ben (6/5): Pleasant - Nice location, friendly staff, good grub in the pub. Room was tired and not the cleanest.
- Sarah (10/5): Perfect - Quaint and beautiful location with extremely friendly and helpful staff Location and peaceful
- Tetley (8/5): Great homely vibe ! - Comfortable & Clean, slightly cold upon arrival but a few mins with the heater on resolved that, in general it was great value for money with Donkey picture on the wall (I donate monthly to the donkey sanctuary) & heilan coo’s in the bathroom (I’m also Scottish) only negative was the sound proofing from neighbouring rooms, the snoring !!! Gosh ! However, it was more homely than you’d have realised, thank you.
- Christopher (8/5): Lovely pub location and great food from friendly staff - Location and great food Ned a bit hard
- Ian (8/5): Very good - Lovely location, very clean and comfortable. Only issue was that we had a downstairs room and the floor above creaked a LOT! The floor above creaked a LOT!
- Karen (9/5): Delicious food, cosy room and location amazing. Would recommend. - Managed to check in early, which was a bonus. Location and village was idyllic, Staff friendly and very accommodating. Food was hot, fresh and delicious. Mattress on the bed was hard and not to our liking. However I appreciate that is personal preference.
Also there was a group of ladies above our room and we could hear every footstep and conversation.
Maybe suggest carpet on the upstairs room. These are the only negatives.
- Peter (5/5): Passable - Room good, bed was good, nice furniture staff great Carpet dirty, doors not cleaned , not a great look.
- Mathew (10/5): - Brilliant little break for a night, lovely pleace , value for money and nice staff
- Mark (8/5): Very good -
- Joshua (8/5): Very good -
- Claire (9/5): Superb - Beautiful quiet village location
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tim (9/5): Superb -
- Eileen (4/5): Really poor hospatality, considering friends of hours who live locally use it all the while.⁸ - Food was good On the first night a friend who was also staying and had just driven 3 hrs to get there, arrived 8.45pm but they would not serve him with food because the kitchen closed at 9.00, even though the Chef then sat at the bar drinking for half an hour.
- Paul (10/5): Just a great place will stay again - A great place to eat drink and sleep will be visiting again a big thank you to all room brilliant and food the same quality throughout regards paul
- Alice (9/5): Superb - Super cosy room, accommodating of early check request, very peaceful visit. There were a few cobwebs, but as this is a relaxed country pub we weren’t expecting it to be immaculate.
- Richard (8/5): Very good -
- Coupe (8/5): Very good - The perfect quiet of the little village, no traffic. Bliss. The noise from above room.
And breakfast being unavailable.
- Peter (8/5): Very good -
- Maria (10/5): Will stay again - The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was clean, tidy and very comfortable. The food in the pub was amazing. The WiFi connection wasn't great
- Matt (10/5): Fabulous staff, always helpful and very accommodating - Location was perfect and the setting was lovely
- Allan (10/5): Everything was perfect - Staff were very amazing, lovely people. Food was exceptional and of good value. Room was great, comfortable and very clean. Only downside was the water pressure on the shower, but who cares if it takes10extra minutes in a hot shower!
- Martin (10/5): - A great traditional country gastro pub with rooms.
Great food, well kept ale & nice accommodation in a pretty village. Staff super friendly. What more could you ask for?
- Alison (1/5): Unacceptable. - Location Hygiene of the bedroom was appalling; sheets and carpet dirty. I found hairs in the bed and cups!! I had no remote control for the television and had to ask for one and made to feel it was my problem. The bathroom radiator was not working and when I reported it I was ignored. I asked for internet connection and was ignored. Totally not acceptable for £90!! When I checked out I was not even greeted; I felt I was totally ignored and labelled as an annoyance.
- Susan (8/5): Enjoyable one night stopover. - Lovely village pub. Good food. Poor Wifi.
Shame no breakfast on at the time of our stay.
- Hannah (7/5): Lovely village pub, great value for money! - Lovely owners and a beautiful pub. We had a really good meal here. This is brilliant value for money. You are very close to both Stowe and Bletchley Park, along with lots of picturesque villages. The room itself was a little dusty and the bathroom could have been deep cleaned. You are above the kitchen so there was a distinct frying smell on occasion, although that probably can’t be avoided. The staff had placed air fresheners to presumably help with this.
- Annie (8/5): Very good - Lovely landlord and landlady and their dogs, cosy pub and good food Bathroom a little tired
- Peter (8/5): Very good -
- Robert (8/5): - Wonderful place excellent food great service. I would give it 5 stars but the mattress was not good.
- Craig (9/5): Superb -
- Simon (6/5): - Really nice looking room, however just needs some TLC, especially the shower extractor which was filthy.
Staff just told me where the room was and didn’t explain anything especially how to turn the shower on.
Really quiet at night and had a great sleep
- Darren (8/5): Very good - Nice beer garden, great food in the restaurant. Bit dusty in the room
- Krsw13 (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alex (10/5): Amazing B&B, great price, great location - Really warm welcome by the host, had some lovely dinner in the pub and had a comfortable nights sleep before heading to Silverstone circuit in the morning.
Perfect for a quick overnight. Thanks N/A
- John (10/5): - Great place to stay and eat, will be back here for sure
- Niky (8/5): Lovely country pub, great hosts and tasty food - Welcoming and helpful hosts. Tasty meal and really nicely decorated room Soundproofing between rooms not brilliant but unsure what can be done about that
- Sarah (10/5): North to South journey stop over - Great location, friendly welcoming staff. Dog friendly!!
- Kirstie (8/5): Lovely little stop over spot - Lovely location, handy for a stop after diddly squat farm on our way across country. Great to easily get an evening meal right there. For the price you can’t complain, For a bit of feedback I will say on the surface it looks clean but if look a little closer there was quite a lot of dust and cobwebs could do with a deep clean once in a while.
- Graeme (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly staff excellent food. Unfortunately the internet is patchy but still workable
- Susan (9/5): Superb -
- Andrew (6/5): Worth a visit for the pub! - Cosy, had a heater! Pub was excellent, good food and drink. A bit noisy from upstairs, generally a bit tired.
- Richard (10/5): - Another fantastic stay in a great little spot. Hosts and staff are brilliant.
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was perfect , the evening meal was exceptional value for money and delicious Nothing
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- Graham (6/5): Shabby - Location Evening food stopped earlier then most, so had to find somewhere to eat before we arrived, which then made us late.
Stained toilet bowl and generally dirty.
- Sharon (10/5): Little Gem - The Crewe Arms is a fabulous pub in a beautiful village .The staff were very friendly and helpful .The food was amazing and the room we had was lovely and comfortable.
- Lynsey (9/5): Superb -
- Trishy (8/5): Perfect stopover before our next destination - Friendly staff , lovely meal , ideal quiet location
- Brian (10/5): Overnight stopover - Lovely location, nice beer garden, excellent staff, very good food. I'm not too keen on electric showers but it was ok.
- Amanda (9/5): Amazing hosts, beautiful place! - What a wonderful welcome!! This is a family run pub in the most beautiful little village and I was made to feel at home as soon as I arrived! Didn't get a chance to eat there sadly, as I arrived late and left very early, but next time I shall as it smelled and looked fabulous! I will definitely stay here again, but I would warn anyone that needs to do any work and needs WIFI, that the signal is shocking. Other than that I loved it! WIFI issue but that's also due to the beautiful country location, so that was a fair trade! :)
- Peter (10/5): Perfect - The food was excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful
- John (9/5): Lovely stay to visit local sites - Stayed here while visiting Silverstone and Clarksons Farm, both in easy reach.
Room was lovely, its a little area off the main pub.
Food in the pub was lovely, definitely worth a visit to just eat here is you are in the area.
All staff we met were extremely friendly and helpful.
Small car park on site, but we managed to park the car easy enough both nights The only slight thing was that you couldn't get Wifi in the room, but this didn't really bother us.
- Tonia (10/5): Lovely stay at a gorgeous pub - What a wonderful little gem. Loved this place and will definitely be back on our next trip to Silverstone. Good luck with your send pub as well.
Best part - Jax the dog showing us to our room!!! Absolutely nothing.
- Jan (8/5): Very pleasant room and helpful staff. Would recommend. - All good They couldn’t do breakfast and the wifi password in the guest information book was out of date
- Melanie (8/5): Lovely location, great food and staff - No breakfast
Quiet location
Great food/ lovely staff Would have liked an early breakfast
- David (9/5): Nice place good food and beer. - Really nice old pub pleasant, friendly staff. It was situated in a lovely quiet village. We had a good meal in the evening, the menu had something for everyone. Breakfast wasn’t served until 10.00 am which was far too late for us, so we had to find somewhere in nearby Brackley. We would certainly consider staying there again.
- Steven (9/5): Superb -
