• Sherly43 (10/5): Super Gastgeber, sehr ruhiges Haus mit außerordentlichem Service - Das B&B liegt am Rande von Portree, man kann, wenn man gut zu Fuß ist, den Hafen in 20 min erreichen. Unser Zimmer mit Bad war sehr groß und wir hatten eine eigene Kaffee und Tee-Station, die jeden Tag liebevoll aufgefüllt wurde. Frische Milch hat man immer bei Ankunft erhalten, sodass man sich auch einen guten Kaffee machen konnte. Im Badezimmer ist auch ein Handtuchwärmer vorhanden, sodass die nassen Tücher morgens dann schön warm sind. Auch das Badezimmer war modern ausgestattet und man hatte überall gute Ablagemöglichkeiten für seine Sachen. Das Frühstück musste man immer am Vortag bestellen, dafür gab es ein eigenes Blatt mit vielen Wahlmöglichkeiten für jeden Geschmack und Hunger. Die Gastgeber Andy und Lian kümmern sich sehr liebevoll um ihre Gäste, dass es ihnen gut geht und unterstützen mit vielen Tipps für die verschiedenen Aktiviten und auch Restaurants. Wir fanden zu Beginn den Preis etwas teuer für das Zimmer, aber Skye und speziell Portree sind sowieso teuer, aber nachdem wir dort waren, fanden wir diesen gerechtfertigt. Unser Zimmer und die Verpflegung waren auf jeden Fall mit einem sehr guten Hotel vergleichbar. Es ist auch absolut ruhig, sodass man richtig gut schlafen kann. Wir können diese Unterkunft auf Skye auf jeden Fall wärmstens empfehlen.

• Tom & Cathy (10/5): - The hosts were great! Set up the table for our afternoon snacks. Refrigerator in dining area for guest to use. Food delicious AND presentation was perfect. Each day had homemade cake to take with us. Comfortable bed, enough space. Parking, off street. No hooks in the bathroom to hold clothes or used towels.
• Elizabeth (10/5): Everything we needed..and more - Andy and Lian are wonderful hosts, and it is obvious that they put a lot of care and pride into their home and business. From the moment we rang the door bell our every need was anticipated and met. The home is beautiful and spotlessly clean, the amenities are great and Lian makes a mean breakfast with homemade cakes to top it off (which came in clutch after a strenuous hike). The location is a little out of town but I kind of liked that, we could relax into the serene quiet of Skye and listen to the birds after a huge day of adventuring.

• Ken (10/5): - We had a wonderful stay at The Roses, made all the more special by the warm, thoughtful hospitality of Andy and Lian Na. They were incredibly attentive and went out of their way to ensure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. From the moment we arrived, we appreciated the lovely touches that made our stay feel extra special, including the tablet we were given on arrival and Lian Na’s delicious homemade cake each day. When we had an issue with our car key fob, Andy somehow managed to find a replacement battery for us — a real example of service above and beyond. Nothing was too much trouble, and their kindness made a lasting impression. We would happily stay at The Roses again on any future visit and highly recommend it to others.

• Lindsey (10/5): Wonderful stay - would highly recommend. - Superb bed and breakfast. Beautiful pristine bedroom and ensuite. The bed was extremely comfy. Andy and Lian are a lovely couple and nothing is too much trouble. Beautifully cooked and presented breakfast - the omelette was delicious and a very nice breakfast option. The breakfast room is lovely and it was great watching the birds on the feeder outside - especially the siskins! Thank you. Absolutely nothing.
• Sharyn (10/5): An outstanding stay on beautiful Skye. - Andy and Lian Na were perfect hosts - there were so many thoughtful touches to add comfort and pleasure, like the guest lounge, bathrobes, a personalised tea tray, and suggestions (with excellent directions) for places to visit on Skye. The breakfast each day was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented, complemented with watching birds feed in the pretty garden outside. There is nothing that could be improved - it was outstanding.

La stanza era super accogliente, pulita e attrezzata, e la posizione della struttura é molto comoda, vicina al centro abitato ma in una zona tranquilla, comoda come punto di partenza per visitare diversi luoghi d'interesse. La colazione era deliziosa e abbondante e per quanto possibile preparata con ingredienti di ottima qualità, tra l'altro anche con descrizione della provenienza (locale per la maggior parte, dettaglio che ci ha fatto molto piacere). Ma la cosa migliore sono stati i proprietari, due persone davvero gentili e accoglienti che ci hanno fatti sentire come a casa e che hanno contribuito a farci lasciare un pezzo di cuore in questa terra meravigliosa. The hosts are kind, helpful, generous, and extraordinarily attentive to the needs of their guests. In a three week trip, this was our most exceptional stay. Hurricane winds on Skye meant we couldn’t experience the isle the way we had hoped. This is not the fault of the Roses, but it is the only thing that kept our visit from being perfect in every way. We would love to come back!

Så bra service, mysigt och familjärt, personlig frukost med många alternativ. Behövde vi åka tidigt på morgonen för äventyr förberedde de smörgåsar och kaka to-go, mycket uppskattat! Smidigt nyckelsystem med blipp. Bra hjälp från dem med tips på restauranger, taxis, etc. Enda nackdelen var att vårt (privata) badrum var utanför vårt sovrum i korridoren. Annars var allt helt perfekt!

Our two rooms, the dining area, and sitting area were pristine and had everything we needed. The breakfasts were outstanding, with many selections for all types of diets. Honestly, this is the best B&B in which we’ve ever stayed!!! Nothing.
• Judy (10/5): A rose in a vase at Roses B&B - Andy and Lian Na were wonderful hosts. Their home is very clean and comfortable. We had a large, quiet, beautifully decorated bedroom with ensuite (with shower and bath). There was a kettle, biscuits and some yummy local fudge. We could have used a guest lounge area if we had wanted to, but as we had 2 armchairs and a small table, we stayed in our room. Bedding and towels were quality. USB ports and a multi box made charging appliances easy. We used a guest fridge in the breakfast room to store some food we had brought with us. There was off street parking and instructions on finding the house were excellent. We enjoyed delicious breakfasts with a selection of juices, cereals, fresh fruit, yogurts, cooked food and toast. Oh, and cake, which we could have wrapped to take with us for later. Everything was homemade or locally procured. We enjoyed watching the birds feeding while we had breakfast. Nothing!

• Helen (10/5): We needed a hill out day during our stay and having a seperate lounge was great. - It was a gem of a property and the hosts were fantastic. Plenty of room and great facilities. As we were older it was a 25 minute walk into town and the walk back was up hill. We are 75+. That’s not a problem for younger ones. We could drive our car in but parking a problem.

The only issue was that the bed linen and towels were very heavily scented which would probably be fine for most people but I found overwhelming at times.
• Ricardo (10/5): Exceptional - Even before I arrived, Andy (the host) and I had a brief email dialogue about the check in process and the state of the roads on Skye. He was extremely responsive, cordial, and helpful during our exchange. Once we met him and Lina in person, it was no surprise that they were equally pleasant in person as Andy had been with me over email. Andy and Lina are a delightful couple, eager to help and warm in demeanor. They have two bedrooms on the ground floor and we stayed in the master suite. Room and bathroom were both large, comfortable, and clean with everything any traveler could ask for. Andy was thorough during our orientation of the home and insightful in his suggestions. Lina's breakfasts are top notch and they even give you options! We tried the smoked salmon the first morning and the Scottish breakfast the second day. Many people dread haggis, but Lina's was delicious. We were very sorry to say good bye to them at the end of our stay. If we ever find ourselves again in Skye, you can bet we will be staying again with Lina and Andy! Zero bad things to say about our experience here

Andy and Lian Na were extremely helpful and attentive hosts, and even shared important information about traffic and road closures prior to our arrival so we could plan accordingly. The B&B was clean and the breakfast was phenomenal. We especially loved the salmon, the yogurt, and the Scottish breakfast. We also enjoyed the extra coffee, tea, and treats. The location was fabulous, we were able to walk to town for dinner. It was only a short drive to visit sights around the island. We highly recommend staying here! N/A

The homemade yogurt was amazing- the other reviews don’t lie! The Roses have literally thought of everything you could need and want! So many extra little touches. I would recommend this place to anyone traveling to isle of skye! Nothing! Some commented on the location being a bit far from the town of Portree but we walked to town and back for dinner and it was a nice 15ish min walk and had sidewalks the whole way.

Bathroom was very nice with a great shower! There is a sidewalk all the way to town about a 15 minute walk and fairly well lit at night! Our bathroom was across the hall but still very private. Was not a problem for us but some people might not like. Walk to town might be harder for someone older or mobility issues.

Breakfast was delicious, all home made. The hosts were great, made us feel very welcome and gave us great hints on places to eat and travel through the Isle of Sky. The bedroom, bathroom, common use living room and breakfast area were all exceptionally clean and comfortable. Breakfast was made to order with our party of four all having different meals -veggie omelette, smoked salmon, Scottish breakfast, bacon and eggs with fresh juices, fruits and baked goods. They are lovely people who take pride in their beautiful home. Location convenient to downtown Portree. Would definitely stay there again. Everything was great.

• Warren (10/5): easily the best and most welcoming stay of our UK adventure - easily the most enjoyable place we've stayed in our travels...Andy and Li an made us feel right at home and we're so welcoming and could not do enough for us to make our stay complete..they were amazing but they also let you go and do your own thing ..rooms are decent size and comfortable..beds comfortable and you have community lounge and fridge for your comfort and goodies ...breakfast was amazing ...plentiful and so much variety... its a short stroll into town centre ..which has various food places a small supermarket...gift shops etc etc .. highly recommended booking for dinner as everytime we ate we saw people getting turned away or lining up for an hour or more to get in ...if your there on a Tuesday night the pipe band does a march down on the square ...worth catching was wonderful ...once again thankyou Andy and Li an for being the best hosts and wonderful people nothing loved it

• John (10/5): Look no further, book The Roses. - Our room was a spacious, comfortable, well equipped home from home and breakfast was an event worth looking forward to. We were so well looked after by our fabulous hosts. Their standards were high and we appreciated that. It's a short, safe walk into town, but if you don't fancy the uphill stroll on the way back, Portree has lots of parking space really close to all the excellent restaurants, bars and shops. If you are looking for an excellent base from which to explore the delights of Skye you won't find a better option than The Roses. That we had to leave!

The bed and pillows are so comfy you won't want to get up Breakfasts were plenty and varied. You even get cake for your days out. . Nothing really. The only inconvenience was that the bathroom was over the hallway but it was all very well set up that you wouldn't see anyone. It's outside of Portree but taxi or bus if you didn't want to walk a mile or so.

• Markus (10/5): Exceptional - Outstanding hospitality with a beautiful, clean room and a delicious breakfast with great service! We felt very comfortable here. There was also a shared refrigerator available, which we found practical. We would love to come back!

• Rachel (10/5): Perfect! - Very attentive hosts. Excellent breakfast choices - best omelette we have ever had! Home made yoghurts are amazing. House was spotlessly clean. Although it was a private bathroom for the room we stayed in, it wasn’t en-suite. Not a big deal though. The positives of the property massively outweigh this tiny negative.
• John (10/5): Short stay in Skye. - Probably the best B&B we’ve stayed in. Everything was to the highest quality. Andy and Lian were the perfect hosts, nothing was too much trouble for them. The breakfast was so good and the homemade bread, cakes and yogurt made it extra special. We had an early ferry but an early breakfast was still provided. It’s a 20 minute stroll into Portree which suited us as we don’t like to be in the centre of towns. Easy parking. Nothing.
• Timothy (10/5): Exceptional - Andy and Lian are superb hosts. They made our stay comfortable and memorable in every way. Lian bakes the bread and offered us a couple of slices of her homemade cake to enjoy on our journey around Skye and then the day we left. Everything was excellent!

• Ng (10/5): Exceptional - The breakfast prepared by the host are great! Their homemade cake and breads are the best! They are very nice and the place is very cozy to stay. Definitely recommend for anyone visiting Portree

• Stephen (10/5): The Roses b&b, Portree. - This is a gem. Everything about The Roses is quality and the hosts make you feel very welcome. If you've booked anywhere else, cancel it and stay here instead!
