• Carlo (8/5): - Enorm lief en behulpzaam personeel. De kamer was wat verouderd, maar een prima tussenstop op ongeveer een uur van het vliegveld op weg naar Kruger/Panoramaroute. Helaas werd het zwembad verbouwd en de prijs voor het vaste menu voor het diner en het ontbijt is wat aan de hoge kant.
• Nicola (10/5): Warm Welcome, great place to stop-over on way to the Kruger National Park - We travelled here with a group of friends and chose to stay here as a stopover on our way to the Kruger National Park. Check-in was efficient and quick. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a lot of fun playing in the "play room" and made good use of the honesty bar. We were all happy with our lovely, clean rooms. We had dinner and breakfast at the property and these were great too. I also want to mention that we had really good communication with the property from the minute we booked which made us feel even more welcome and confident that we had booked the right place. I would definitely recommend this guesthouse. Nothing

• Francina (7/5): Disappointed with my room. - The bath, the shower It's was not the room that you booked for. The room that was advertised was one with the lounge and that is the room I wanted. I did not get it. The room was cold, no electric blanket. For the price it would have been nice to for breakfast to be included. I am a little disappointed with my stay.

Plants, statues, bric-a-brac… all in great decorative order, quaint, pretty, tidy… Rooms spacious, tasteful, comfortable. Disability catered for, ground floor room, only 1 step. Shower has a small step, but a grab rail too. Toilet seat NEEDS ATTENTION, AND A HANDRAIL, especially as toilet is quite low down Quite a step climb to reception, especially if it had bern me with the disability.

• Paul (10/5): First class accommodation with a wonderful ambience all round! - The Big 5 Hotel was recommended to me by the chairman of local fishing club "WALAC" with whom I have been associated with for it's entire 40 years of existence. I was visiting South Africa from the UK to take part in the club's 40th commemoration celebrations, which were held just around the corner. I found all aspects of this hotel to be awesome and it's African theme creates such a wonderful ambience. The food and service all round was excellent and was provided by very friendly and engaging African staff. Although I did not venture out of town on this stay, I would say that this hotel would be an ideal base for trips out into the wider areas. When I am next in South Africa, the Big 5 will be getting a visit from me! Nothing was disliked at all.

The did make new bacon when I sent it back...all came back cold. We were disappointed paying R170pp for this? I think at Wimpy I could have enjoyed more value for money and cheaper.

Tablecloths, plates and cutlery, cushions, the works. Very neat and clean, I felt bad taking off the beautiful decorations on the bed! Thank you for making us feel so welcome. The stairs might be a problem for someone who can't manage that. They did however offer to help us with the luggage, so I only mention this if climbing stairs are an issue for you.

That is good, can see the heart of the owners through the staff ❤ I love that that there was no water to shower at night and that they chose for you that you can only shower once a day. Anyways we were there for one night from a very busy day we got there around11pm so wanted to shower there was no water Only one extra small blanket, I struggle to sleep without a proper blanket.
