However, my recent stay at The Barcelona EDITION was a masterclass in customer service. I am currently in stealth mode launching a longevity startup, and the Rooftop Bar became my remote headquarters for a few days. Between the 360-degree city views and the exceptional home-grown Kombucha, local beer, tapas bites, and multiple espresso shots, I enjoyed a remote working experience that felt like a world-class "innovation lab." ¡Trabajar así es un sueño! Centrally located with 10 mins to La Rambla, Picasso Museum, and local tapas bars. Rooms are very modern. Good gym with decent equipment. Food quality and staff are just too good! Breakfast is delicious ! Rooftop is where you want to hang around…However, it would be a true injusticia to forget the "Ground Heroes" who made this my "Home Away from Home." These people are the real life and charm of this property. The Door and Bell Team set a positive tone with their elegance and siempre sonrientes presence. The front office is easily the most customer-friendly I have encountered: 1) Alejandra- El Alma de la Recepción (The Soul of the Front Desk): The real heartbeat of the desk. She created a "VIP homecoming" magic that is impossible to script. 2) Clara- La Maestra de la Resolución (The Master of Resolution): Pure management material. She possesses that rare "decisive charm" and the ability to ensure every guest leaves satisfied. 3) Lucia- Líder de Excelencia (Leader of Excellence): Her management skills are evident in the seamless, high-status energy of the lobby 4) Paula- Estrella en Ascenso (Rising Star): Supremely well-informed and attentive—she ensured we were properly hydrated at all times ¡Hidratación es vida! 5) Carlos & Yannick- Maestros de Logística (Masters of Logistics): Ultimate experts who handle every request with a "can-do" spirit. The breakfast and Rooftop teams serve wellness with genuine heart and zero "corporate roboticism." 1) Mariana Ramirez — El Caballero de la Bondad (The Gentleman of Kindness): A true jovial gentleman, so down-to-earth and attentive to detail. His kindness in customizing a warm pasta meal for my partner when she was unwell was deeply moving. A few suggestion for the hotel to consider: 1) Mirrors: A full-length mirror inside the room (not behind the closet door!) would really help 2) Lighting: The "EDITION dark" aesthetic is chic, but corridors (gym/lifts) can feel demasiado oscuro (too dark). A subtle lift in brightness would enhance the transition. 3) Sun Access: For those of us from sun-deprived places opening the Rooftop earlier for Vitamin D and sun-bathing would be a massive wellness value-add. Verdict--> This hotel can be a central hub for your party nights, or a "Remote Office" and a "Home" rolled into one. I am so impressed I’d gladly serve as an unofficial ambassador. If you are in Barcelona, you are in the best hands in the city.

After an exhausting 14-hour travel day, we arrived early in the morning with jet lag in full force and were immediately put at ease by Alejandra, whose warmth and genuine hospitality made us feel like the most important guests in the building. Knowing our room wasn’t ready, she had cappuccinos waiting and offered us a complimentary breakfast while we settled in. When our room was finally prepared, she didn’t simply hand off the keys at the front desk. She personally delivered them to us on the stunning rooftop deck, where we’d been relaxing and soaking in the views. The real magic came shortly after. A knock at the door revealed a beautiful surprise Alejandra had arranged: chocolate cake, champagne, a balloon, and a heartfelt handwritten note to celebrate our anniversary and a new job milestone. It was one of those unexpectedly touching gestures that you carry with you long after a trip ends. The ambiance, comfort, and quiet luxury of The Edition were everything we’d hoped for. But it was Alejandra’s extraordinary attention to detail and sincere care for her guests that truly elevated this stay into something unforgettable. We cannot recommend this hotel, and this incredible person, highly enough!

We especially loved the second-floor bar—excellent cocktails and such a great atmosphere, it quickly became one of our favorite spots in the hotel. We did have a minor A/C issue, but the team handled it immediately and went above and beyond by upgrading us, which was incredibly appreciated. A really great experience all around.

As a Marriott Bonvoy Titanium member who has stayed at many hotels around the world, the staff at this hotel takes the prize in the guest experience category. A huge shout out to Shaina and Ainara from the Front Desk who made my check-in a seamless and comfortable process. Shaina went above and beyond her call of duty to assist with an early check-in request. She and her colleagues from the Guest Experience Team never failed to follow up and respond with any requests during my stay, no matter how minor. Another highlight was the delicious breakfast menu served à la carte in the lobby restaurant. The staff there were exceedingly helpful and polite. I enjoyed using the fitness center. Though small in size, the range of modern TechnoGym equipment was more than adequate. The only setback worth mentioning for room 812 was the wash basin in the bathroom which did not drain well. The issue was brought to the hotel engineering team’s attention but it did not improve at the end of my four-nights stay. Overall, I would highly recommend the Barcelona Edition for its exceptional guest service and convenient location. I would be remiss if I failed to mention the gorgeous rooftop bar/lounge which offers a great view of Barcelona and a wonderful atmosphere to chill and relax.

- LOL305 (10/5): Best Barcelona Hotel - I have stayed in many hotels in Barcelona as I find myself there at least once a year. Three years ago I tried the Barcelona Edition and that was the end of my quest for the perfect Barcelona Hotel. The staff is young, beautiful and well trained to provide the best possible guest experience. They are all seemless in the way they do things. If you require extra pillows they quickly appear. All the restaurant servers and hostesses are efficient, and nothing is a problem for them. The front desk staff, the lovely guest service lady, valets and concierge are also perfection. If you need a taxi for a certain time, it’s there. If you have Bonvoy status, unlike some Marriott properties, the Barcelona Edition honors status to the highest levels. They provide room upgrades, late checkouts, gifts and all other status perks. The staff makes you feel very, very special. This outstanding property is my favorite among all Marriott properties. You would be lucky to have a stay here. Enjoy their great location, parking services, Punch Room, Restaurant and Roof Top. The rooms are elegant and modern. The staff could be employed in any great hotel in the world.

Maria at the front desk was phenomenal from the moment we arrived. Check-in was seamless, her attention to detail was superb, and she handled a reservation change effortlessly and without hesitation. She was always smiling, polite, and genuinely welcoming. Every time we returned to the hotel, she greeted us and asked about our day, which made us feel truly valued as guests. Rodrigo, the concierge, was equally exceptional. He expertly helped us navigate the train system, printed our schedule for a day trip to Sitges, and secured excellent dinner reservations throughout Barcelona. His knowledge of restaurants, locations, and logistics was impressive, and he always took time to answer questions. Most importantly, he showed genuine interest in our experience—always asking about our day with a smile. Beautiful hotel, incredible location, and service that consistently exceeded expectations. We would absolutely recommend this hotel and would gladly stay here again.

The concierge gave us some useful tips in exploring the neighborhood. The Cathedral is next door and so are the museums, all in a walking distance which I think is in the best locality of Barcelona. The breakfast and dinner at the restaurant was great. Loved the artist singing. The chef offered a lot of vegan options not on the menu. Missed out on the rooftop. Would definitely come here again.

I loved where this hotel was located as it was next door to the Barcelona Cathedral and near some really cool Christmas markets. Also it was really easy to walk around the area and see tons of sights. We even walked all the way to the beach area from here. The check in staff were absolutely amazing and so kind. The concierge heard me asking questions and immediately helped with sending us to a great bar near the water. Our room was perfect! Of all the luxury Marriott's we've stayed in, I'd say this had the most comfortable bed. The shower and bathroom were amazing. Although it's a luxury Marriott property it has a boutique small cozy vibe. Definitely would stay here again.

The service here feels warm and personal, and Lourdes went above and beyond for my husband’s birthday. We returned to our room to find balloons, an incredible chocolate mousse, a chilled bottle of cava, and a beautifully curated selection of Le Labo products — one of the warmest and most thoughtful surprises we’ve had at any hotel. Maria was just as gracious and attentive throughout our stay. Between the welcoming team, the stylish rooms, and the consistently polished experience, this hotel continues to impress. We’ll be back again soon.

- zhouyangy2024 (10/5): Hard to beat - Stayed in mid Nov for 5 nights. Late booking and paid around $450 nightly. My review is based around recent stays and the price paid. Location: Excellent, right in the middle of El Born, lovely neighborhood. Lots of foot traffic, restaurants, shops, live music, and night life. There were protests on one of the weekend days but I never felt unsafe. Property: Great, pretty small hotel all things considered, everything looks to be fairly new and well maintained. The on property restaurants and bar were pretty small but had good options, although with all the food options around you’d be crazy eating at the hotel imo. Rooftop lounge has great views of the city but Sagrada Família is blocked unfortunately. No on site spa. Room: Excellent, booked a Deluxe King, didn’t get an upgrade (Marriott Plat) but wasn’t looking for one either. Room’s a bit small for 2. Furnishings were spotless and modern. Water pressure was too weak for my liking and there seemed to be a weird range of softness for the towels but other than that no complaints. Bedding and toiletries both wonderful. Service: Excellent, with a few staff members going above and beyond. The hotel proactively alerted me of scheduled protests and offered excellent suggestions. Room cleaning did a great job every day and the sweets they leave in your room are excellent. Laundry service was prompt and professional. Overall at this price point I’ve rarely had better experiences since the pandemic anywhere. This was a definite highlight in a long string of mediocrity from Marriott and a no brainer for Barcelona.

The hospitality is incredible - they are ready to give you recommendations at a moment's notice, leave you hand written notes and goodies, and make sure everything is taken care of. The rooftop was a dream. I think we spent 4 hours up there when we first arrived - the drinks were delicious, and the bartender was super knowledgable. The room was beautiful, clean, modern and cozy. We didn't get to eat at the restaurant, but everything we saw looked delicious. It's location is also prime! You will not be disappointed.

- Ashkan (2/5): - Hello, I recently stayed at Barcelona Edition. We booked 2 rooms, one for myself and for my parents to celebrate their 50th year anniversary. Based on my previous experience staying at the Edition hotels and being a loyal Marriot Bonvoy member, I convinced my parents to stay there the last 5 nights of their European trip. They couldnt sleep from the noise from above floor the first night and notified the hotel and they promised to change their room which never happened! Instead they brought them some cookies!! The towels in the room were dirty and smelly and hotel was notified also. We spent over $1000 for each room per night which is not exactly cheap, but the experience turned out to be an awful one for my parents and I at their 50th year anniversary. We repeatedly mentioned to the hotel and they are not happy with the room and noise and the overall experience but they barely did anything. I’m extremely disappointed with the whole experience and bringing my parents there and regret the decision to book Edition Barcelona.

The staff was wonderful. They gave us a cookie gift that was beautiful and delicious. We enjoyed the roof top views, tapas and loungers. The concierge helped us purchase tickets to a couple of excursions and train rides. As we were leaving our room we saw a person delivering an amazing dessert chocolate egg. We commented how amazing it looked and that night we were given an additional gift, the chocolate egg with a hand written note. We’ve been wowed and taken care of our entire trip. Oh and the room was clean and elegant. Thank you to the Marriott and the Edition staff for a wonderful experience.

- albT3833WW (2/5): Please read review - Hi All, we Stayed at the Edition Hotel Barcelona just now. The hotel appears lovely at face value! We were recommended a taxi driver by the staff of Edition Hotel to take us into town ! Midway During the drive the mysteriously got a flat tyre, so my wife and I were forced to walk on an unknown street towards our destination! It was all so well calculated and measured it was extraordinary. 3 mins into our walk after the flat tyre, I got mugged by two locals who tackled me to the ground from behind, and threw me the ground and stole my Rolex of significant value. Hideous crime, as were on the phone to our kids back in AU. I hold Edition Hotel to account and will never trust their staff again! This was a direct and precise hit on me and my wife, as no one else knew that I was wearing a watch outside of the Edition Barcelona hotel staff, literally within 2-3 mins of leaving a taxi which mysteriously had a flat tyre. Upon filing a police report we were told that this was a textbook crime, and it’s quite clear that someone in the hotel was well and truly aware! We will never stay in the country or hotel again - please avoid the Edition Hotel! We trust all Hotels we stay in but not this one, we do not feel safe and I’m horrified and nervous about even heading back to airport from this hotel!

The room was really nice and had everything you would need (loved that there was an iron and ironing board). The rooftop bar was great. We had no issues getting seats, loungers, or getting served (honestly, Grand Hotel Central need to take a leaf from their book as their rooftop can be chaotic). After dinner most nights we came back to their bar - the Punch Room - and had espresso martinis whilst playing pool. It's in a great location and we'd happily stay again.

It’s centrally located and I could walk or take a short subway ride to all the major attractions. Loved roaming around the gothic quarter and all the small alleys. Hotel room was smallish and I had a view of a cellphone tower but I didn’t spend much time there except to sleep anyway. Room was clean with nice amenities and a comfortable bed. I booked a deluxe room and got a high floor. It was quiet except for random doors slamming. Unsure why people don’t know how to close doors softly. Came back each day from my touristy stuff to lounge on the rooftop and take a dip in the pool. Pool was refreshing and great views from the roof! Nothing like a glass of cava in the pool. The waitstaff on the roof were amazing and despite my short stay, recognized me every time I came back. Great service I wish I had gotten their names to give them proper credit. Actually, all the staff I interacted with were amazing. Kudos to the Edition, I felt very welcome and will definitely come back again!

Pros: • The Edition’s signature scent (IYKYK) • Surprisingly large rooms • Prime location near shops and just a block from the Barcelona Cathedral Cons: • Ongoing street construction made it a bit tricky to flag down a cab quickly • The hotel's setback from the street added a slight challenge with pickups My only regret was not having more time to really enjoy the rooftop and the lobby bars — both had such a great vibe. Bonus note: I also stayed at Nobu Barcelona during this trip. While Nobu’s central location made grabbing cabs easier, The Edition was hands-down the better hotel in terms of room size and design.
- Inspire25083388098 (10/5): Modern, stylish, and perfectly located - I had a great stay at The Barcelona Edition. The hotel is modern, new, and very well located — ideal for exploring the city. Service was excellent throughout, and the rooftop bar is a lovely spot to relax with a great atmosphere. One detail I especially appreciated was the availability of French press coffee at breakfast — not something you often find in Barcelona hotels. I had booked the Loft Corner Suite, which I really liked. I didn’t see the smaller rooms, but I would advise booking them with caution — if my suite were any smaller, it might have felt too tight. Entry-level rooms may be quite compact, so it’s worth paying attention when booking. Overall, one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had in Barcelona.

- jbliv (10/5): It Doesn’t Get Better Than This! - Without question one of my very best hotel stays. From arrival to departure everything was perfect. This was my first time trying an EDITION property and I had been reluctant as the brand can appear a bit stuffy, however this stay changed my mind completely. Upon arrival I found the staff welcoming and inviting — some of the best hotel staff I’ve ever encountered. I had attempted to use Marriott nightly suite upgrades which was denied prior to my arrival, however I was pleasantly surprised to have been upgraded at check-in. The lobby and common areas of this hotel are immaculate and very inviting. The custom scent pumped though the hotel is also very nice. My room was not very large but had plenty of room for one. The rooms are beautifully appointed with every amenity you can think of. The bathroom was superb and I love the La Labo bath products. Breakfast was so nice and the staff in the restaurant lived up to this property’s outstanding service and genuinely nice people. Overall, this hotel blends upscale with a friendly, genuinely welcoming staff. I only wish I could have stayed more than one night. I will make this my go-to for my next trip to Barcelona!
- MacBrazel1970 (2/5): A place that discriminates against people with medical conditions. - I chose the Barcelona EDITION Hotel because it appeared to be a welcoming, stylish place with great reviews. Unfortunately, my experience was the complete opposite. I stayed for two nights and three days in early May 2025, traveling with my certified medical assistance dog, an essential part of my daily life due to my health condition. Upon arrival, staff told me dogs were not allowed. I calmly explained that under the law, medical assistance dogs must be accepted, at which point they reluctantly agreed but reminded me—somewhat curtly—that the hotel was not pet-friendly. That set the tone for the rest of my stay. That very evening, as I returned to the hotel, a security guard followed me from the front entrance to the elevator, questioning whether I was even a guest. When I said I was, they again said dogs weren’t allowed. I reminded them, again, that I had already been checked in and that my dog is a legally recognized medical service animal. The next morning, I was told I could not leave until I spoke to management, this marked the third time I had to justify my medical condition to staff. Later, I returned to the hotel only to be denied entry at the front door. It wasn’t until I showed them my room key that I was finally allowed in. Four separate times I had to defend my right to stay there. Four times I had to explain myself just to exist like any other guest. This hotel treated me not with care, but with suspicion, intrusion, and outright disrespect. Instead of providing hospitality, they acted more like a checkpoint at a military base. Their repeated challenges, cold demeanor, and unwillingness to properly train staff on disability rights completely ruined what should have been a beautiful weekend in Barcelona. The law is clear about access for service animals—but this hotel chose to ignore it, and in doing so, made me feel unwelcome and humiliated. If you travel with a service animal or if you simply believe that hospitality should be inclusive, respectful, and legally compliant, avoid the Barcelona EDITION. This hotel failed on every basic measure of decency, respect, and guest care. I would never stay here again

The location is absolutely perfect, right in the heart of the city, and the modern, hip design of the rooms was a delightful blend of style and comfort. Despite a chaotic start due to the electrical outage in Spain, which left us stranded on a train for 9 hours and delayed our arrival, the hotel staff was incredibly accommodating and made us feel right at home. A huge shoutout to the superstar concierge, Yannick! His enthusiasm and helpfulness were unmatched, going above and beyond to ensure our stay was memorable. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend this gem in Barcelona!

- lewishE4467GA (2/5): Terrible service and rude staff - Awful place and very rude staff. It felt like our presence was unwanted. We simply wanted to sit in the sun and have a couple drinks, however they sat us inside (3 different outside tables were available), and the staff were not interested at all in serving us. 25 minutes of our short stay in Barcelona we won’t get back. Go 5 minutes down the road to hotel colon if you want drinks on a rooftop.

- 865harishb (10/5): Amazing Edition - We just got back from a wonderful family stay in Barcelona Edition, and I couldn't be happier with our experience! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt warm and inviting. Our accommodations were spacious and comfortable, perfect for our family of four. The location was fantastic, too! We were just a short walk away from some amazing sites, like Park Gael and La Sagrada Familia. Exploring the streets filled with charming cafes and shops was a treat for all of us. The kids loved trying different sweets and snacks along the way!
- Violet-Street (4/5): Just not worth the money - too expensive for what it offers - The good bits - it smells lovely, the staff are really nice and there are fun singers on some evenings. Room service food good value, restaurant food pretty good too. Where it is lacking - for the price what you are getting is just not up to scratch. Service in restaurant is really poor - slow and inattentive. The pillows and duvet in the room are thin and flat, the rooms a little tired with odd cupboard panels not finished very well. Rooms don't have kettles or milk, and you only get one tea bag to share. It's in quite a good location - but the extortionate prices just make this "ok" hotel not worth it. So many better options for a better price in Barcelona.

Great location to do all Barcelona city centre and a great local market next door for all your needs

- CLAUDIO A (6/5): - Room is too compact; difficult to accommodate stuff for a couple 4-day stay. Same apply for the bathroom - limited space. For the price charged, one would expect something roomier, more confortable.
- adrieltjokro (10/5): Practically Superior to EDITION Madrid, Its Arrogant Sister - Having stayed at Madrid EDITION previously and was appalled by their disastrously arrogant and stuck-up service and hospitality, I was actually very hesitant to stay at another EDITION property in Spain. But then I stayed for a night at EDITION Singapore, which was phenomenal, so I thought, “Sure I’ll give it a try.” In summary, Barcelona EDITION is worlds apart different to the disastrously horrible Madrid EDITION. Staffs here are incredible and down-to-earth. The suites are beautiful and more warm with lower ceilings, unlike those of Madrid EDITION which are excessively big with soaring-high ceilings. The rooftop is truly incredible. While the view isn’t necessarily the best, it’s a cozy place to spend a winter evening at with the fire burning next to your seat and a blanket. All in all, Barcelona EDITION is a much smaller property with nothing phenomenal if you compare it to Madrid’s. But their hospitality, warmth, and coziness won me over in comparison to the tragedy that is the embarrassingly bad Madrid EDITION. If you want to spend your money on an EDITION property in Spain, go for Barcelona property!
- matthewlee730 (10/5): Ideally located boutique hotel with a grest service - Such a cozy boutique hotel with the friendliest staff. It's right in the heart of the Gothic Quarters, within walking distance of so many incredible sites. Plus, it's conveniently located next to one of the oldest Christmas markets. Alejandra at the front desk really made my check-in special with her warm welcome. She went above and beyond to ensure I had the perfect room for my week-long stay. Her attention to detail and follow-up were truly impressive. The breakfast was delicious, although it did get a bit repetitive after 7 days. It would be wonderful if they could switch up the menu for longer-staying guests. A beautiful rooftop to enjoy and relax. The concierge's recommendations were fantastic, and they even checked in to make sure we had a great time at the places they suggested. The valet and door staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help.

- MICHAEL (2/5): - The hotel is a rip off. It’s the worst addition in the whole entire hotel group. Do not stay there. The restaurant socks, the bar socks, the pool socks, the room sock. Stay at Soho House or other properties.
