- Anita (9/5): Great location, great staff, nice rooms. - Great location. Staff was lovely. Nice to have a kitchen. Overall I had a great stay. BUT.... the building design is perplexing to me. The parking is seriously something to get used to (all underground and oddly configured) and the elevators seem like afterthoughts/service elevators. It was creepy, dark, tight and unwelcoming before I'd ever checked in. To tell the truth, my very first impression was that I didn't want to get out of my car and I wanted my money back! For women traveling alone it can be a challenge. By light of day it was much better, and by day three I was a pro, but it wasn't a good first surprise. There were a lot of very strong perfume smells everywhere, like there was something to cover up. Right off of the elevator on the way to the front desk it hit me. Later I went to the lounge to play pool and left mid-game. I'm sensitive to smells, but usually can adjust. Not this time. It was thick. Same with the pet room that I was in. I turned on all the exhaust fans for a while, brewed a pot of coffee and it was fine. Be mindful of what's happening in Athens. I wanted to extend my stay one night and it would have been over $800! Almost 4 times my original price. UGA graduation! ;-)

When I talked to the staff at the desk about the water they said you have to leave it on a long time to get it warm..I let it run 10 mins before i attempted to get in the shower. The water never got warm to wash my face.

- Phyllis (10/5): Exceeded expectations - The room was clean and spacious. Bed and pillows very comfortable. What impressed me the most was the staff. Everyone was friendly, professional and helpful on every question we had. The facility is very clean. Breakfast was fabulous. I can’t remember the front desk clerk that checked me in or the bartenders name. They both were extremely helpful and so nice. I’ll be staying again. No one complaint. We walked where we needed to go. So that was an extra bonus for us.

- Megan (10/5): - Location was a pretty easy walk to campus and restaurants. Suite was large and comfortable. Kids loved the game room with pool table, shuffle board, and board games. Parents loved the bar. Gym had plenty of options. Breakfast was better than usual for this level of hotel. Check-in was a bit slow, but the staff were very friendly and helpful.
- Candace (10/5): - Very good location to attend a show at the Akins center. Did not like that we had to pay additional for parking. The room was very nice and we enjoyed our stay. Very quiet location which was a nice surprise.
- Linda (8/5): - The hotel shares parking, this was confusing at 1st but after a couple of trips in and out I was able to park with the elevator close by. The elevator needs better signage. Elevators need the word ELEVATOR painted on the outside back wall in bold letters

- Joseph (8/5): - Great location with easy access to UGA and downtown Athens. The bed was a little firmer than I would have chosen personally, however it was reasonable as a choice for general use. Initial check-in had a hiccup as the rooms had not been checked off as cleaned or not, so there was some delay in being able to access my room. The staff was very accommodating and held my bags at the desk while I went to dinner. Once I returned, everything was ready.

- PORTIA (10/5): - It was our first time booking with Homewood Suites. Overall we were very pleased with the hotel, really nice facility good breakfast. A few things to note. The water was cold and the pressure low. It took a long time to warm up and it was luke warm at best. Secondly change the shower tub combo to a shower. The tub was high and slippery. You had to exercise caution getting in and out .

- Verified traveler (8/5): Good, but not premium. - Overall, our stay was really good. The staff at the front desk was exceptional. They were very helpful and made great dinner recommendations. Our only complaint is that we paid for a premium suite and the view from the bedroom was a first floor view of an alley with some old railroad tracks. After we had been in the room about 20 minutes, a van parked in the alley. From that point forward, our view was of the side of the van. The suite was fine and clean and fairly comfortable, but I don’t know that I would market it as a premium suite And charge a higher rate.

The hotel is a little confusing to find and the elevator was not readily visible in the parking deck. There should probably be some verbiage on the site about locating the elevator. Other than that everything was great!

- F5158VRgm (10/5): Excellent location. Outstanding service. Highly recommend. - Excellent location in the heart of downtown Athens. Walk to everything that DT Athens and UGA has to offer. Room came with a full size refrigerator, microwave, toaster, and dishwasher at a reasonable price. The staff was incredible. Sabina went above and beyond with any request. Hotels are limited in Athens with poor locations and quality. Highly recommend.

- Kerri (10/5): - This hotel was very cute and the perfect location for the new Akins ford arena! Great rooftop area was perfect for the girls “photo ops”! The only thing we encountered was a stain on one of the sheets that we just threw off the bed!

- Segebaba (6/5): Good location, poor breakfast, average service - Went in here for one night, the location of the hotel is close to many things in downtown Athens. The suite we paid for was said to accommodate 4 people, but the sofa bed was smaller than I have seen in other places, 2 average size adults will struggle to fit in without having body contact. We beddings for the sofa bed was missing we had to call and wait for that to be delivered. The breakfast could definitely be better. Nonetheless, the hotel served it's purpose.

- Mishelle (8/5): Great Location with few great staff members. - The staff was very friendly each day, a decent location of where we had to go within walking distance and the room was very nice and clean. We enjoyed the suite comfort and how we had our own little "room" within the suite. The bar area was nice and entertaining. The king bed was slightly uncomfortable, the showers in both room areas of the suite took 7-10mins to warm up the water for a shower, and each door to the rooms of the suite would not just close, we had to push them closed as they were uneven to the framework. The breakfast was disappointing, we had biscuits each day but with no gravy which normally you see, then one morning kitchen staff was slightly tempered when asked about more eggs (had to wait a good time for).

There was a large group of kids from a chorus group that took over the hotel half of our stay: loud, running through the halls, holding up the elevators, couldnt hangout in the bar because it was full of kids. No luggage carts when we left. Had to tote all Our stuff in 2 trips to the parking garage. Have had better experiences at other Homewood Suites.

- lara (10/5): repeat customer - returned home to Athens to pick my mom up for Christmas out of town. room was great, clean, safe and comfy. i have stayed here and its my preferred hotel if the price is right.
- Jcmcg (10/5): Great downtown location - Walking distance to the Classic Center and downtown restaurants. Pillows were kind of lumpy and only had 3 pillows so hubby and I had to draw straws to see who got 2 pillows.
- Catherine (5/5): Not worth the money. - Comfortable bed and good layout for family of four. Located close to downtown. Arrived late a night to king suite with two kids. Had to go down to front desk twice to get bedding for kids pull out (none in room). Staff were apathetic to needs. Bed was comfortable but bedding very rough. Two towels for family of four and one roll of toilet paper. No hot water the first day but better the second. While facilities were clean and comfortable, unfortunate that the basic things needed in room were not attended to and was our responsibility to take care of.
- Mara (8/5): Enjoyed our Athens visit - We enjoy this hotel very much. Great location, walking distance to Broad St and the Classic Center, and campus. Only complaint is the overwhelming air deodorizer used in the halls and rec area. My husband and I are sensitive to air fresheners and we both woke up with headaches. They could lighten up a bit on the strength.

- Lynn (6/5): Pleasant - It was not clear that parking is valet only and an extra $18 per night. It’s a sketchy area and the dude wanted our car keys before we even checked in. There is no front offloading parking available. It’s a bad vibe from the beginning. You enter the hotel from the parking garage.

Great service wonderful location The fact tht at the bottom of the tub there is nothing to prevent you slipping in the tub. Without all the hand rail in the tub area. I would have most likely fallen out of the tub due to being slippery.

Could not ask for a better group of people, these folks in the valet are truly the star of your business, they are the first ones you encounter when arriving and set a very high standard at first sight. These guys deserve a raise!!!!
