Guest Reviews
- Nathan (10/5): - No pet area or work space but I did not need those. Clean and well kept.
- Travis (2/5): - The moment I walked into the room, I knew there was going to be trouble. The rank stench of mildew around the entrance hit me in the face like a physical force. I directed my eye to the heavens, but alas there was no aid coming from that direction- merely the evidence of the cause of the stench. The ceiling was visibly bowed, and you could see where they had cut into the ceiling to attempt to deal with the water damage. However, they did not actually fully mitigate it and likely were breeding new species of mold behind the plaster. The furniture, in addition to being ancient and worn, was actually physically damaged. The dresser was also bowed in the middle and drawers didn't want to pull out. Not that I put any clothes in it once I saw how nasty it was, inside and out. Questionable stains of brown to red adorned the box spring sides and various portions of bedding. The walls had visible handprints. The ceiling lights were dingy and had at least some remains of dead bugs inside. The shelf that the mini fridge resided on was sagging, and had literal trash shoved underneath to "even out" the fridge so that it remained somewhat level. The bathroom mirror was so chipped around the borders that at first I thought it was a manufactured bevel. There were almost no useable outlets- one of the outlets was near the ceiling and probably meant for the TV but the property manager had given up attempting to plug anything into that and left it empty and unused.
- stephanierA6243LV (2/5): Terrible - Well had to get a room while I was visiting freeport and this was the nastiest motel I have ever been to. There was so much gunk in bath tub I didn't dare use it the jets was filled with I don't even know what it was called. The outside of tub was black tape together and the walls I can't even begin to explain what was on them. The toilet leaned I was afraid I was gonna fall off it. The bed sheets had holes in them it was beyond terrible. But I do have to say the lady working seemed very nice.

- Verified traveler (6/5): - The price was nice, but you get what you pay for.
- 719trevorm (2/5): DIRTY ROOMS - bad hotel bed sheets were dirty had pubic hairs all over fridge was moldy hoars all over the place and asking me if i want company or drugs i called the police as soon as i left there never again i wouldnt even let me dog in room
- Marc (8/5): Quick sleep n go - I was traveling from Iowa to Ohio and needed a place for a short sleep. I rolled in around 11:30. They switched me to a larger room so that I could have a non-smoking room. Room was clean, bed was older but was able sleep well. Left early the next morning so I didn’t see much of the area.
- Karen (8/5): West Hotel Freeport Illinois - Was a good stay for the price. Room was very clean and bed was comfortable. Wish there was a electrical outlet in the bathroom.
- DEE (8/5): Nice motel, close to Monroe, Wi - Good, Location was In a good place and nice restaurant close by.
- jimtorrisi (10/5): Nice Mom and Pop motel - Friendly staff, clean rooms and VERY affordable rates...what else do you need...highly recommended! Office staff were so nice, they recommended good local places to eat and things to do in the area...
- CellularMan (4/5): Needs improvement - Rates are 45 a night or 220/week. Room had a stale smell. Nicest thing was the Direct TV and they have micro and frig in every room. Had one lady there knock on door and offer to sell me drugs and then asked if I need any company. Woke up around 2:30 and heard a noise outside. Looked out the window and someone was trying to break into my car. I opened the door nd scared him off then tried calling the police with the room phone. The microphone in it must have been broken since they could not hear me when the 911 operator answered. Called back on my cell phone and police rrived within 5 minutes. Luckily the thief did not know what he was doing and I heard him. Won't be staying here again.
- garint1981 (8/5): Basic Room but it's all that was needed (stayed in 2011) - Stayed there back in March of 2011 and it was great. Didn't expect much for the price but was surprised. Clean room, room was warm but the a/c changed that in a hurry. Had a microwave in it. Pillows where a bit flat but I have sleep apnea so I could sleep on anything. Would gladly stay here again and again. It's right across from a gas station and a restaurant and there's a grocery store right next to the motel. Only needed for one night and fit all the needs.
- cathy20042015 (2/5): Bad Hotel - I was just there over the weekend and i had really bad experience there and there was a lot of cockroaches in the room and there was some in the bathroom the bedding wasn't that good the room smelled. We have called the front desk a lot to look at the bugs and they said that the bugs were taken care of and the bugs still showed up and the left a can of bug spray in the room for us to take care of and then the directv wasn't working right so it took them forever to fix that. And it still acted up.
- queena_11 (10/5): very nice to stay - we went to Free port, IL for wedding ceremony of my cousin
stayed over here was worth for this wedding
nice and clean location close to stores
very open and quite area
my baby like so much this areaa
next time we will stay here for sure
- davidaO8501LS (2/5): sewer - No hot water, very rude owners , questionable people hanging around, kids playing on a dumpster. Unsafe parking lot , you get one price from some guy in the begning and when the owners come around its another price, very unclean
- TroyD49 (2/5): NO NO NO - I did not enjoy my stay here, I moved out after 4 days with 3 days left on my tab. To be fair the room wasn't bad and the owners were nice and a good value. But, the other activities going on concerned me, I was worried about my pickup being stolen or broken into. There were people in the parking lot at 430 in the morning, every morning and they weren't going to work. I don't blame the owners for this, they don't know you but they can put a stop to it. Anytime there are police at the motel on several occasions I move out.
- Irishcousin (6/5): Basic....you get what you pay for..... - The West Hotel is a very basic, old hotel. It is in need of major updating/remodeling. It was clean enough...but, not perfect. The t.v. was black and white. They didn't offer any breakfast at all. The beds were small-double beds--bedding was ok...but, not great. It is next to a trailer park--Friends from Freeport told us to make sure that we locked our doors--and not leave anything of value visible in our car--because of the area. Overall--the message is that you do get what you pay for here.
- chevydmax04 (10/5): Inexpensive and very confortable and clean - We are a cellular construction company and we have extended stays in many hotels/motels across the midwest. I always look for a the least expensive motels I can find, usually you get what you pay for. I am happy to say the West Motel is not like that, you get much more than you pay for, The owners are very friendly and accommodating, the rooms and bathrooms are very clean and well maintained. We have been here for 2 weeks already and we will be here for another two weeks before we leave. When we return to the Freeport area this is where we will be staying. We have stayed at Comfort Inn's and Days Inn's and paid twice as much per night, and they were no where close to as nice as he West Motel. I highly recommend this stay.
