- JOHN (3/5): Don't do it - 3 old sheds or chalets, looking about 20 years old and very tired inside, looking at stock sheds and feed tanks at the front and a farm dump to the rear, on a farm off the Great Ocean Road and needing satellite surveillance to see any beaches over the hills on the other side of the road, was not what I pictured when I read the name Clifton Beach Lodge. Probably verging on legal misdescription ( english irony there). Princetown is a toilet block fronting a storm beach. There is nothing else but scattered farms between the Otways and the equally questionable Port Campbell 16km from the "lodge". In fact Port Cam0bell was the nearest place for eating, a handful of dodgy fish and chip/fast food outlets. The interior of our "lodge had a strange, lingering smell, whether from the old carpets or past cooking experiments I dont know. I have been travelling and using apps like Booking.com for years but by far this was my worst mistake in all that time. Entirely my fault for not being more forensic in doing full background checks. But I have been lulled into a false sense of security with my other stays elsewhere. Caveat emptor. Heading west from the Otways or Apollo Bay, keep going until you get to Port Fairy. Like a lot of other Australian accom9dation, you see noone. There is a key left for you but typically here, I saw neither 2 nor 4 legged being on this farm during our time there. Whoever marked this place as "Superb" in the app needs investigating. Location, surroundings, state of accomodation, proximity to shops, pubs, restaurants etc.

Nearest grocery store - ~20 minutes drive. Got everything for prepearing a meal, some table games. Comfy bed. Dogs barking from nearby property. But got silent during night.

La comunicacion con Holly fue excelente. Tiene parking propio. Wifi débil, pero suficiente para un uso convencional. En general bastante limpio, aunque le falta pulir algunos detalles.

- michelle (4/5): unpleasant stay overall. - One positive aspect was that I was able to bring my dogs, which I appreciated. The bathroom was okay, and the area was clean. For the price of the accommodation, I expected a much better experience, even for a one-night stay. Unfortunately, the couch was very uncomfortable, and the bed did not provide adequate comfort either. Mosquitos were also a significant issue, which made the stay unpleasant overall.

The lodge was spacious, really comfortable and well stocked. The surrounding area is beautiful and peaceful: we absolutely loved our stay here. Holly was incredibly kind and friendly, and pointed us to a great place nearby to spot some kangaroos (something we were really excited about!) Nothing, everything was fantastic.

A lot of thought and effort had gone into the accommodation and what was offered. - We could not get into the property but fortunately the former manager saw us wandering around the site and could call the relevant person to get this sorrted out for us. Semi-detatched and not very sound proof if the neighbours are loud which a ours were. No-one next door or quiet folk would be fine.
