Guest Reviews
- Jane (9/5): Would def stay again - 3 couples travelling together so 3 king ensuites bedrooms was fantastic Can’t think of anything that I didn’t like. Furnishing was lovely even though couch was a little uncomfortable
- Bronwyn (9/5): -
- Kristien (10/5): -
- Rodel (9/5): Fantastic Cottage located in a perfect location in Tanunda, Barossa Valley - The cottage was very presentable and a fantastic floor plan. The rooms were well appointed and the internal restorations/renovations were great.
The open plan and large windows/doors allowed for plenty of light, especially in the living area. Access to the house from the front and side were handy. The backyard garden was well designed.
Breakfast inclusion was a nice touch, with lovely bacon; eggs and bread, along with cereal options. There were a few other things in the pantry and fridge which may have been left my previous customers, which we enjoyed. Some amenities were missing or limited. Basic items such as pepper; paper towels; foil; plastic wrap; tissues; toilet paper; were examples of what we have come to expect as provided in a cottage/home.
- Debbie (10/5): Luxury Barossa Villa destination - Fabulous house, perfect location, ideal for three couples wanting a luxury Barossa get away. A surprise was the breakfast provisions bacon to die for and fresh eggs and bread. After a day of wine tasting coming back to this house extended the experience.
Location great as an easy walk to the cafe and restaurants . Off street parking for two cars was fab. Nothing all fabulous.
- Jason (8/5): -
- Brett (9/5): Would recommend the property , it’s just lovely and the location was perfect - The home was beautiful. Information regarding the air conditioning, ie how to use it. Not all bathrooms had rubbish bins, breakfast was a little basic for the price of the property.
- Debi (8/5): Lovely stay just get some decent pillows 😁 - Breakfast was good. Basic bread, eggs and smoked bacon and fruit yogurt. Maybe for this standard of accomodation . Sour dough , mushrooms , tomatoes a bottle of wine on arrival . Just little things to take it to the next level . Check in was easy enough with the owner opening up for us before we arrived . The house was clean with beautiful bathrooms and a good standard of accommodation and furnishings . The pillows . OMG it was like sleeping with my head on Mount Everest . Far too high . Our friends thoughts the same we were all checking cupboards and the spare room to see if there was a different choice . Had head on the pillow , head off the pillow , head on rolled up towels . Very bad sleep . Bed was comfortable . I went out to to the bed shop the next day to buy a $300 pillow never paid that in my life for a pillow ( did get 30% off as promotions was on) got a decent sleep next day .
Also booked into the owners Resturant to support her and heard it was good . Fermentasian . Was lovely food and we enjoyed but we all thought it would of been nice to of been offered a complimentary coffee or something as the owner was aware that we had booked her property and had booked her Resturant . As I said just little things brings that star rating up . On the whole though apart from pillows it is a lovely house to stay at .
- Haylie (9/5): - Amazing location. So lovely to have breakfast foods left for us! It’s the most beautiful home, tastefully renovated and extremely comfortable.
- Nicole (10/5): Gorgeous home in a fantastic location! - We absolutely loved Villa Maria. It is the most beautiful home and superbly decorated and appointed. Every bedroom has an ensuite which is fabulous when travelling with friends. Location was on point also. The home was clean and welcoming and we would highly recommend staying there during any visit to Tanunda or the Barossa Valley.
- Kerry (10/5): Would highly recommend. - Beautiful old house tastefully renovated great bathrooms, kitchen and so comfortable.

- Deborah (10/5): Fabulous - Beautifully renovated villa. It was well located, walking distance to main Rd in Tanunda. Located in a very quiet street. The house was clean, 3 huge bedrooms with king beds and ensuite bathrooms. Heated floor in bathroom. It included a fabulous breakfast, eggs, bacon, yogurt, cereal. Perfect for weekend away with friends. Loved it and we will return. Nothing, cannot fault it.

- Kylie (9/5): Fabulous house for girls weekend away, close to vineyards - Located in Tanunda, walking distance to the high street with plenty of restaurants and shops. Foodland grocery store is also there. It is a beautiful area with lovely limestone cottages. Villa Maria is a stunning property with 4 bedrooms all with own ensuite. The bedrooms are huge with 10ft high ceilings, all with King beds. Beautiful bacon, eggs and bread were delivered by Tuoi on the day we arrived as well as some yogurt and strawberries. It is wood floors throughout so don't forget your slippers!
- Luciana (6/5): It was a good place to stay. The stove and woven were great. Very clean. - They provide eggs, oats, milk, coffee, bread, and strawberries. You need to cook for yourself. There are shops near by to buy bread and other things if you like. There was no wifi. Please ask for a good explanation about the heating system.
- Margaret (10/5): We will be back. It's one of our favourite properties to stay at. - It's our second stay here and we think its immaculate! So well kept and it is close to everything. A beautiful house and neighbourhood
- Christopher (10/5): Spent 3 nights exploring the Barossa, great place to base ourselves . The Villa lends itself to travelling in a group - Lovely old home that has been renovated to a high standard. Large bedroom, all with ensuites. Plenty of room to relax, well appointed kitchen. In quiet back streets of Tanunda All good
- Alex (10/5): One of the best houses in the Barossa! - Beautiful décor

- Margaret (10/5): Exceptional - Breakfast excellent, although there was some trouble with the stove! Great location We all would have liked more local jams , sugar and some local cooking oil !
- Anthony (9/5): Would visit again - Well catered for Nothing
- Julian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cassie (10/5): Exceptional - Beautifully appointed, lovely garden and close to town The underfloor heating in the two bathrooms weren’t working and appeared locked for use
- Melanie (10/5): A luxurious stay whilst enjoying the Barossa! Hospitality a 10 out of 10! - The house is beautifully appointed and decorated. Every bedroom is like a master with ensuite. Our Host is so beautiful, fridge and pantry stocked with goodies for breakfast. Cleaning products all supplied in laundry room for any washing. Definately 5 star accommodation.
- Kate (9/5): Great house in a great location -
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gail (9/5): Superb -
- Meridy (9/5): Superb -
- Christine (10/5): Wonderful, luxurious and cosy home right in the heart of the Barossa Valley. - Gorgeous home close to the main st of Tanunda. Beautiful, luxurious rooms all with ensuites. Total luxury!
- Silvio (9/5): Very happy with the stay. - Lovely big house with all necessary conveniences and well located to centre of Tanunda. Owner met us to let us in and explain everything.
- Deborah (10/5): Luxuriously relaxing - It was such a beautifully renovated period home and every room had its own ensuite which we loved . The floors in all the bathrooms were heated - lovely and cosy! Tuoi was very generous in leaving us a whole tray of eggs and bacon as well as milk yogurt and bread . There was plenty of jams etc and Nespresso pods ! Location was brilliant too ! Nothing ! Loved everything about it - wish we could have stayed longer.
- Ellen (10/5): Exceptional - The location was very central to most of the wineries in Barossa, the space was great for us and would be plenty for a group. The amenities were great.
- Nanette (10/5): Loved every minute. - This property was excellent. Beautifully decorated and appointed. Would highly recommend.
- Marg (9/5): Superb -
- Dionne (9/5): Superb -
- Teemjay (10/5): This was certainly a luxury guesthouse. - The size of the house was fantastic. We all had our own bathrooms and the kitchen was a good size. It was very relaxing to be able to sit around before going out to the various wineries. The air conditioned comfort and use of the wi fi was another factor that made this stay more comfortable. We would certainly recommend this as a great place for family and friends to relax and enjoy. Breakfast was Ok with Bread, eggs and Bacon but as this was a tad more luxurious and more expensive than most of our other locations perhaps some muffins/danishes/jams/croissants etc would have also been a nice touch. This is a minor point as the rest of our stay was great.
- Lorraine (9/5): Spacious luxury for up to 6 to enjoy all the Barossa has to offer. - The house is a beautifully renovated period property. It has all mod cons. The 3 ensuite bedrooms are comparable in size and quite luxurious with good quality beds, pillows and linens. Blackout blinds were great for sleeping in.The kitchen is well equipped. We got early access to the property which was kind. Everywhere was very clean. There is a lovely garden and outside area under cover but due to the 35C days we mostly stayed inside in the aircon. The outside fan is a great addition though. The host was friendly and helpful. The house is easy walking distance to the main area of Tanunda and a sort taxi ride to Hentley Farm Winery and restaurant. The couches in the lounge room were great but the 2 occasional hammock chairs were very uncomfortable. Also outside there were no cushions on the chairs so they were also a bit uncomfortable. Maybe they are going for a minimalist look which is easy for cleaning.
- Dianne (5/5): Passable -
- Camilla (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ann (10/5): We appreciated being able to check in early. Beautifully renovated property of high quality - Eggs, bacon, yoghurt, milk, jam, butter all provided and of good quality.
An array of breakfast cereals was also in the pantry.
Sugar could be provided. Just minor things but just feedback and not a criticism.
We didn’t or couldn’t find a dish cloth.
Eventually we found the tea towels and paper towel.
There was no dishwasher tablets to use in the dishwasher.
Lamp in the hallway didn’t work.
Bedside lamp in bedroom 3 didn’t work.
The ice maker within the fridge didn’t work nor the cold water.
- Julia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rosemary (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amanda (10/5): Beautiful accomodation. We will be back for sure. - Thoughtful. Nothing!
- William (9/5): Superb - Location good, host responsive, great facilities, well appointed.
- Mel (9/5): Luxury home, amazing location - Beautiful, luxury home.
Amazing location, close to cafes, shops and restaurants.
Perfect for a weekend away with friends! Only thing we could fault was there was no cheese board/platter!
- Linh (9/5): Superb - Having 4 bathrooms, comfortable beds, breakfast
- Margaret (10/5): Fantastic Stay - Beautiful, clean villa.
Very close to main street of Tanunda.
The host was very accommodating.
Highly recommended. Nothing
- Lynnel (10/5): Beautiful accomodation. Highly recommend Villa Maria Barossa Luxury Guesthouse - Absolutely beautiful luxury guesthouse with modern features, clean and tidy. Can not fault this property
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nathan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Karen (10/5): Incredibly stylish comfortable roomy & clean accommodation that was central with off street parking - Great breakfast provisions, central location in a quiet position, super comfortable amenities and heaps of room. Loved having our own bathrooms. We liked everything.
- Shona (10/5): We had a fabulous stay at Villa Maria. The photos really don’t do the home justice. - Beautifully renovated, spacious, clean & proximity to restaurants & bars.
- Becky (9/5): Beautifully appointed, luxurious villa located close to main street, restaurants and wineries. - Excellently located, beautifully presented. Luxurious fittings and furnishing. Spacious and private. Everything worked. Easy walk to main street and to several nearby wineries. We contacted them on arrival as we arrived earlier than expected and gained early entry. We had a lovely time and walked everywhere. There wasn't much not to like. There were a few minor cleaning things noticed eg, rubbish between the drawers in the bathroom, but otherwise our stay was perfect.
- Prapharat (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anthony (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anne-maree (10/5): The house was extremely well presented and felt luxurious yet so very comfortable. - The breakfast supplies were amazing and the property extremely well presented. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to enjoy a luxury getaway. There was nothing I disliked about the property. It was excellent.
- Ian (10/5): An excellent property, with 3 large bedrooms each with their own ensuite, with good living spaces. - Host was easily contactable by text to update on arrival time.
The host also provided access instructions for the property.
The host delivered the breakfast supplies to the property, including a complimentary bottle of wine. Nothing, apart from the fact we had to leave.
- Maree (10/5): Exceptional - What a wonderful stay we had a Villa Maria in the Barossa Valley. The home is incredible, a beautiful spacious villa, with high quality furniture, comfortable huge rooms and a very well equipped kitchen. We were supplied with bountiful, delicious breakfast provisions and the host was very welcoming and accommodating. It was a pity we couldn't stay longer and would definitely also recommend dinner at Ferment Asia, the food was amazing!
- Kristine (10/5): Wonderful -
- Karen (9/5): Perfect for a luxury girls getaway with 3 beautiful suites -
- Luke (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (10/5): Loved the home and we will definitely be back! - Stunning property only a 2 minute walk to the Main Street , restaurants and shopping . The home was very clean and very well stocked with all the essentials . the host was absolutely lovely to deal with . Nothing
- Dora (9/5): Superb -
- Jessica (8/5): Lovely stay in a stunning house! - The house was very beautiful and spacious, in a perfect location near the Main Street of Tanunda. We loved the sound system all throughout the house and the beautiful gardens. There was no oil to cook and the breakfast was pretty small for 6 people for 2 mornings.
- Paul (10/5): Simply the best. - Wonderful place to stay in the heart of the Barossa Everything was outstanding
- Bruce (9/5): Superb -
- Sue (10/5): Fantastic Location, Stunningly refurbished property! - This property was lovely and the host made sure it was beautifully clean. The gardens were beautiful and well maintained and the location of the property to the town was exceptional. Close to everything and we could walk straight out of the front door, down a block or two to the main street where the restaurants and cafes were. One of the heated bathroom floors stopped working for some reason but apart from that the property was stunning. Large kitchen and living area and just perfect for three couples to relax in.
- Deborah (9/5): Great place to stay in the centre of Tanunda within walking distance of shops restaurants etc & easy driving to the - spacious & very comfortable for 6 people not much
- Jenny (9/5): Superb -
- Debbie (8/5): Lovely house and gardens - Would of liked some tomatoes , juice , extra butter , spreads for toast , sauces Was surprised there was no BBQ
- Diane (8/5): A beautiful, spacious house in a great location. - The house was beautiful, the bedrooms equally spacious, each with an ensuite. It was is easy walking distance to the town centre. While the house was advertised as having breakfast included, this was disappointing. Food from the supermarket was delivered on day one of our stay, one loaf of bread, 9 rashers of bacon, a dozen eggs, one tub of yoghurt and a few bananas for three breakfasts. While there were some pantry staples, it didn’t include cooking oil or sauces.
- Susan (10/5): Exceptional - Everything
- John (8/5): Very good -
- Hayes (10/5): A luxury retreat for up to 3 couples - Great accommodation and breakfast supplies
