Guest Reviews
- Parisa (9/5): - What made our experience really special was Mohamed that was more or less in charge of everything we needed and we didn't know we needed. The hotel itself is a magical place with a beautiful story. the hammam experience was not matching the rest of the hotels standard and I was not happy with the price and quality of the creme and oil products I bought from the shop.
- Galalae (7/5): -
- Carlotta Guglielmina Orsetta (8/5): Great place - Beautiful property, tastefully decorated and full of character; attention to detail in every corner.
What really makes the difference is the staff. Everyone was genuinely kind, friendly and extremely helpful from the moment we arrived until departure. Their care, availability and discreet professionalism deserve a special praise and truly elevate the entire experience.
Highly recommended.
- Rachel (5/5): - The staff was very accommodating and helpful. They went above and beyond. The room was outdated and didn't really measure up to 5 star properties in the US, especially the bathrooms.
- hina (10/5): - The room we stayed in (Laila Tam Suite) was beautiful, as was the rest of the Riad. Very peaceful and relaxing ambience, good location, lovely fresh food and great hammam. All the staff were extremely helpful, kind and generous - especially Houda who made sure we were well-looked after.
- Lenicque (8/5): -
- William (10/5): - Spacious & luxurious suite, helpful & welcoming staff, great location in a quiet residential part of the medina a short walk from the souk
- GABRIELA (8/5): - Muy amable el personal
- Beth (10/5): If you’re searching for a riad in Fes, Riad Meyfez is it! You can stop looking right now. - This place is stunning — the architecture, the tilework, the vibe — it’s absolutely gorgeous. During our stay, the riad wasn’t full, so we ended up having a more private experience, and the service was truly exceptional.
I want to give a huge shoutout to Mohamed who took incredible care of us. He was warm, attentive, and somehow always appeared the moment we needed something — like magic. We genuinely felt like part of the family.
The food was excellent. Breakfast was simple and fresh — they asked how we liked our eggs and took care of the rest. The rooftop views were beautiful, and the location was ideal, right inside the medina.
It was a special stay in a beautiful place — calm, kind, and full of heart. Would 100% stay again. 10/10 recommend! Everything was perfect!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Could not endorsing it more! - Great stay at the Riad Mayfez Suites & Spa. Family of four, we stayed for 2 nights at the Riad. We all enjoyed the beautiful setting, exemplary service, and attention to details. Could not endorse it more!
- Sabrina (10/5): - It was Fabulous! I stayed in the white suite. It was larger then the photos and overlooks the courtyard. The patio is huge. Bathroom was wonderful. It’s on the second floor. Hotel is very quiet and safe with great food! Service amazing and spotless. I would go just to stay and enjoy the hotel. I took a private cooking class and it was informative about the history and very fun. Great place. Did not use the pool but it looked so inviting and peaceful. The pictures does not do this secret garden hotel justice.
- Guy (10/5): Fantastic Service and Luxury - This hotel takes service to the highest level! Catered to our every whim. Heated pool, extremely comfortable bedding and delicious food made our stay truly memorable!
- Leanna (10/5): - We had a wonderful experience at Riad Mayfez. It is absolutely beautiful (with wonderful views) with every detail is thought of. There are several areas to sit and enjoy the outside. The food is delicious. The staff are very hospitable and friendly, and tend to anything you may need. They helped arrange a walking tour guide for us, a porter to and from dinner that was in a confusing location, a ride to the airport etc. It truly is a quiet oasis in the middle of the Medina. Overall, we would love to visit Fes and Riad Mayfez again. Highly recommend!
- Rikki (10/5): - The Riad was amazing!!! Beautiful property, excellent service, spa was fabulous, dinner top notch. Highly recommend!!
- Penelope (9/5): Superb -
- Matthew (10/5): - Beautiful property with spacious rooms, like an oasis inside the bustling Medina of Fes. Service was impeccable and they made incredible effort to make our stay more comfortable throughout our time. Breakfast was amazing and the complimentary treats were to die for. You will not find a better hotel in Fes, and you may not find a better one in Morocco.
- Erin (10/5): The hospitality at Mayfez and the helpfulness and warmth of the staff is unparalleled. We have never had as gracious of - The riad is magic, with no detail neglected. The rooms are tastefully decorated and the shared spaces are welcoming and thoughtful, whether you want to play billiards or eat a couscous. The outdoor spaces are also incredible with the pool and well manicured plants and fruit trees. The only thing we didn’t like was leaving Mayfez!
- Ning (10/5): - It's a gem in Fez. Highly recommeded.
- Simone (9/5): Superb -
- Scott (5/5): Gym is tiny and closes at 6. You must book breakfast in advance between 8-10. Experience was meh - Breakfast was controlled, skimpy, and underwhelming. there were no options at all for those with any dietary limitations. Quality was just ok Owner was polite but controlling. We did not feel that welcome. He literally never addressed my female partner. Sexism was palpable and uncomfortable.
Walking around the area at night did not feel safe.
- ALLA (10/5): - Very charming Riad with great stuff.
- Roslina (10/5): Amazing stay! - Luxurious Riad and we were pleasantly surprised by the interior designs and the cleanliness. Breakfast was pretty decent.
The staffs were one of the most accommodating we seen in Morocco. They offered to walk us to the Main Street and if we are lost, they were just a call away to pick us up! ( quite easy to find your way back if you use google map ). It was a little bit unaccessible from the front road but wasn’t much of a trouble as there were services to help with bags or guide.
- Rezie (10/5): - Wonderfully hospitable. Very beautifully decorated. Spacious rooms and many areas/ salons to enjoy.
- Natalia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gary (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sultan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A beautiful Riad in the Medina of Fes. Great property, great hospitality and delicious food. We loved our stay. If we come back to Fes this will be our go to riad.
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional - Best Riad in the old Medina - great location . Spectacular building with a pool . Service was superb and friendly - couldn’t do enough . We will be back . Nothing
- Vinitha (6/5): Pleasant -
- Daniel (10/5): - Spectacular and HIGHLY recommended! My family and I loved our stay at Riad Mayfez and didn't want to leave. Houda and Mohammad were in constant communication with us to ensure every need was met and our expectations were continuously exceeded. The property is gorgeous with amazing detail and is an oasis within the medina. We stayed in the Isfahan Suite with our 8 year old son. The suite has high ceilings and plenty of space, including a large private terrace. FYI - It does have very steep steps! We loved the shared common spaces at the Riad, especially the roof decks. Our son loved pool, and the billiards/game room. Can't say enough about this special place and amazing service!
- Laila (8/5): Very good - Amazing team, genuinely nice and caring.
Beautiful and peaceful property. The riad is beautiful, bath linens and some appliances need upgrading or updating to live up to the beauty of the property and the skillful team.
- Christopher (10/5): Exceptional - The whole place was stunning. Beautiful communal areas and the attention to detail with the fixtures and furnishings were very impressive. All the staff we met were super helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble and the advice about the Riad and surrounding areas was detailed and informative. Big thanks to all the staff especially Mohammed and Houda. Look forward to a return visit at some point.
- Bruna (10/5): Melhor acomodação de Fez - Riad completamente excepcional! minha estadia foi perfeita, recomendo de olhos fechados!
- Benjamin (10/5): LUXURY STAY - This was an INCREDIBLE stay. The staff are so friendly, accommodating and helpful. The grounds are absolutely stunning. This was the best road I have ever stayed in. We are sad we only had three nights, we did not want to leave. For luxurious, private and and unforgettable stay, be sure to book here. This was a visit beyond expectations. Houda, and Mohammed and Mohammed made our trip the very best it could be!
- Anees (8/5): Very good -
- Quanta (10/5): - If I could give more stars I would. Highly recommend. Beautiful Riad with the absolute BEST STAFF. Did not want to leave
- Verified traveler (10/5): The best riad!! - Where should I begin… we had an absolutely amazing experience at Mayfez. Ms.Houda and Mohammed made sure we were more than well taken care of. We were so spoiled by the cozy Riad living style. From the welcome tea and pastry, to the spacious rooms, to the lovely patio, to the cozy dining room, to the hearty breakfast. to every little detail. This was the best stay for our Morocco trip! We would definitely stay here if we ever visit Fes again. If you are reading this review, look no further. You will not regret it!
- Tara (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing Riad!! Such lovely details, beautiful property and outstanding staff!
- David (10/5): A beautiful riad lead by an amazing team - What a magical place that will make you feel at home. I travel a lot and Mayfez showed me a new way to travel. I first stayed here as somewhere to just rest. Mayfez should actually have been our destination! The team - Houda, Mohammed, Driss, and Rachid - are so dedicated, kind, and wonderful. They pay close attention to every detail during our stay: making sure all legs of our transportation are well planned, activities are smoothly coordinated, food are excellent, rooms are very comfortable. If there is any room for the team to go above and beyond, there is no hesitation that they will jump on the opportunity to offer assistance. They are a quick WhatsApp chat away. Mayfez is a true riad. Images will not do justice to this sublime wonder. When you walk around the property, you will discover endless treasures. Thank you for creating and sharing this precious gem with us.
- Guillermo (10/5): We had an excellent experience at the road. Staff was super nice and helpful. Facilities and location also great - Decoration, size, open pool, nice breakfast, very nice staff
- Kimberly (10/5): - The staff was attentive and helpful. The property was beautiful and unique!
- Michelle (10/5): A tranquil oasis after the fun and excitement of Fes! - The property is beautiful! The pool, spa and rooms are decorated stylishly and the location was fantastic. The staff went above and beyond to help us with any questions. One even took us to the view on the rooftop and explained how to get to a certain part of Fes to see another magnificent view.
- Nicola (9/5): Superb -
- Mary Jane (10/5): A hotel gem - We had a poor check in experience due to some Communication issues but once in our room the hotel was wonderful. The service and staff were fabulous and the food superior. Enjoying the Road was the best part of our trip.
- Mona (10/5): - Incredible team, extremely accommodating!
- Douglas (10/5): Excellent experience. Hospitality among the best we have experienced at any 5-star hotel. - Excellent. TV didn't work, even after calling maintenance. Two remotes make it confusing.
- Andrew (10/5): Beautifully peaceful Riad with exceptional staff - Mayfez is a real gem of a place. We stayed for my partner’s 40th birthday and couldn’t have dreamed of anything more. Stunning rooms, peaceful courtyard, wonderful spa, and excellent food.
The real stars are the staff though, especially Houda, Mohammed, Nadia, and our guide Abdul; they all went out of their way to make us feel like we were at home, and were always on hand to help with anything we needed. We can’t thank them enough for making it a truly special and memorable experience.
- Guido (8/5): Very good - Most things, in particular staff Sometimes hard to find staff at hotel (individuals are excellent, maybe need 1-2 more because they are stretched?)
Some of the decor/furniture/colour combinations in the rooms (matter of personal taste)
- Verified traveler (10/5): Eccellente esperienza - Bellissimo Riad. Personale attento a tutte le nostre esigenze senza essere mai invadente. Eccellente soggiorno. Consigliato
- Philip (9/5): Superb -
- Phuong (8/5): Very good -
- Mario (10/5): The staff made us feel so comfortable and home. Houda, Mohamed, Rahid and Mejda. made the place super fantastic, they tr - The riad is absolutely amazing, very clean, well decorated and peaceful That we had to leave!
- Yevgenia (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely beautiful
- Adam (10/5): Spot on - Exceptional staff catered to all our needs especially specially prepared vegan food which was outstanding. Relaxed ambiance and amazing rooms Was perfect
- Candace (10/5): - Amazing stay even though it was during the winter. The whole staff was wonderful to work with. We did a tour guide (Abdul) organized by the property that was awesome. The food was delicious.
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional - Exceptional hotel, everything about this Riad was extremely well done. The decor is amazing. The staff are wonderful, the breakfast was perfect and the facility itself is a true oasis. Could not think of a thing.
- Octopus (10/5): Perfect experience in Fes and I will still choose this hotel if I come back again - The best living experience during my twenty days in Morocco, every facility works well and the owner decorated the entire building with art-ware from every corner of the world, the breakfast is so satisfying with fresh juice and they change the menu every single day. They also provide the amazing Moroccan Hammam, it’s a must try experience and I fell asleep in ten minutes directly after doing the Hammam. The staff was so nice, Huda and Majeda like my sisters.
- Jan (10/5): amazing staff and facilities in the most fascinating city in Morocco! - everything! nothing
- Redha (10/5): This place is amazing ! Ideally located in the heart of the Medina it’s a beautiful restored riad - everything nothing about the hotel
except the guide - he wasn’t hotel employee but suggested by the hotel.
- Jamal (10/5): - It was an amazing stay, we had a blast there. The room, the staff were all great! I highly recommend you go and you will thank me later. It’s very quiet, the food is amazing, and their traditional breakfast as well!
- Marcous (4/5): - We stayed in the Palmyra Suite. The door to the suite was warped and we had to force it open and shut. We found a cockroach in the suite. The bathtub took forever to drain and the lighting in the bathroom was very poor. Our AC unit stopped working in the middle of the night and the batteries in the safe died and had to be replaced. This was not worth the price and we would not stay again.
- Max (10/5): Beautiful Riad even better customer service - The place is very beautiful every corner is decorated with rich Marrocan style and features . Food was great but the staff especially Muhammed was amazing . He even walked us to the restaurant close by so we won't alone at night when we arrived . I've been to many hotels This by far was one of the best customer service I've ever received
- David (10/5): Paradise Found in Fes. Blown away by our experience staying here. The manager gave us an upgrade to a Suite out of her o - exceptional Staff and Amenities. location was perfect. There were no negatives.
- doriella (10/5): - The staff and the property was amazing. Once I walked onto the Riad, I had a warm welcome and from then on, I felt like the staff was very accommodating and went above and beyond for me. They went from picking me up from the park area to even packing me a take away breakfast! The spa was great as well. I felt relaxed the whole entire time.
- Mckenna (10/5): Amazing home away from home in Fes with the most lovely staff and beautiful views. - We loved everything. From the beautiful room to the clean common areas to the delicious food to the picturesque views that we received from our free upgraded room courtesy of Dominique the owner. The best part though by far was the amazing kind wonderful staff at the riad. Everybody was lovely but we spent the most time with Mohammed and he was so lovely and made us feel so at home. When we had arranged a walking tour with a meeting spot a few minutes down the road, he refused to let us walk alone and accompanied us to ensure we didn’t get lost. It was so kind of him and greatly appreciated in the confusing Medina streets. Overall this was the best hotel stay I’ve ever had. We felt so at home and comfortable and happy with every bit of the riad and our experience. We loved everything.
- Iona (9/5): Highly recommend - outstanding hospitality and gorgeous setting - Excellent service and the staff was immensely helpful, kind, and supportive. Beautiful and peaceful setting. Dinner was okay
- Julien (10/5): Fantastic stay and the Riad was a nice balance to the frenzy of the Medina. - We fell in love with this Riad. Nomad chic but with the owners French touch... she has exquisite taste. The staff could not have been nicer or more helpful, they gave 5 star service and went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful stay. My husband and I both enjoyed having a hamaam experience on site and my skin has never felt softer.
On arrival we had a lovely dinner, food was excellent kudos to the chef.
Houda arranged a Medina tour with Abdul for us and he was exceptional. Fes truly is a unique experience but one has to go with a open mind. Everything was wonderful.
- Gal (10/5): - This was a unique and very special experience. One of the best stay experiences we ever had anywhere! The owner and staff are fantastic, helpful and kind and really go beyond to make the stay as special as possible. We were upgraded to the suite as we just arrived without even requesting, and the room was just breath taking. The location was very good and the Spa experience priceless. We definitely will be back. Thank you for making our stay in Fez so special!
- Shir (10/5): Exceptional - Very welcoming and professional workers. Architecture, design and decoration are amazing. Super clean and tidy, more than I imagined. From the hustle of the medina to the most relaxing setting of the riad. Spa and hamam were great. Fun billiard table to play on your free time. Breakfast was very good but a main dish like an omelet was missing. High protein dish is essential to a meal.
- Ben (10/5): Wonderful small palace in the Medina - Wonderful boutique palace in the Medina. Small with dedicated staff really trying to please. Gouda, Mohammed and others really try hard to make guests feel welcome. We had an early flight and they offered us a full breakfast before regular hours. We also had an upgrade to a lovely suite during our stay. Dominique, the owner, is also very involved and really makes sure communications are top notch. Definitely a great option if you want some old world charm in the Medina.
- Juan (10/5): - It was a good palace to stay st The Medina.
The staff and cree were amazing
Very good moroccan cuisine
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- carman (10/5): Magical - This magical riad was our home for 3 nights. We were upgraded to the Byzance room but from what I could tell, all the rooms (only 5 in total) were given the same luxerions attention.everything about our stay was fantastic: the staff friendly and attentive, the property itself was absolutely immaculate and the food (both breakfast and dinner) was delicious and beautifully served. I cannot say enough great things about this fantastic riad in the fascinatingly and chaotic city of Fez
- Christie (10/5): the Team & personalized dinner we had there made our stay so memorable! Houda & her team were there to take car - gorgeous boutique property…. only book here if you want a nice personalized experience. the team of people here are some of the nicest you will find. They made our stay so memorable.
The location is so convenient to everything in the Medina. we liked everything…. especially the quiet.
- Farhang (10/5): - The staff were very professional and attentive to our requests and needs. The property is gorgeous and very clean and well maintained. I will definitely stay at Mayfez if my travel plans take me back to Fez
- IBRAHIM (10/5): - I loved the tranquility of the hotel, there are only 5 suites in this place, so it is very quite, and peaceful
- Jessica (10/5): - The staff were amazing, incredibly thoughtful, and beyond accommodating. I have many dietary restrictions and they went above and beyond to make sure I had plenty of yummy food to eat. The food was delicious and they organized a wonderful tour guide for us. Wish we could have stayed longer! They spoiled us!
- Valerie (8/5): - Situation- spacious room with terrasse. Staff dedicated. Small hotel

- Bernadette (10/5): - The Riad was beautiful and huge!! As a nice surprise we were the only guests the 2 nights that we were there so we had the place to ourselves. The staff was wonderful and so helpful. They arranged a half day tour for us with Abdul (aka Sammy) which we would highly recommend. It’s a shame our stay there wasn’t longer.
- Monila (10/5): An oasis of peace and luxury in Fes - Wonderful stay. Beautifully furnished, well maintained, nicely heated and great service. Thank you Intissar and Imam as well as Mohamed for making our stay comfortable. I would highly recommend staying here
- Charles (10/5): - A beautiful, sweet and quiet spot. The staff was amazing.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Fabuleux ! - Un riad magnifique et intimiste en plein coeur de la médina avec un personnel exceptionnellement gentil ! A refaire
- Umair (10/5): - The Mayfez is a very charming Riad in the inner part of Fez. My wife and I enjoyed the beautiful property, which is very spacious and breathtaking upon entrance. Moreover, the staff is very friendly and professional as is Madame Dominique who has splendid taste in furniture, room products, room decorations, and the quality of miscellaneous furnishings. We had a beautiful suite which was very comfortable, had a breathtaking view of the sunrise from the attached Terrace, and included high end items in the bathroom (e.g., heated towel racks, soap bars normally found at Bloomingdales, etc.). Additionally, I really enjoyed the ease of coordination via the Mayfez - the Mayfez offered a comfortable and delicious dinner service, breakfast service, and even coordinated my train tickets to Casablanca, taxi pickup at the Fez airport, and a wonderful tour guide (and President of the Fez Association), Mr. Abdou Soussil. Overall, Mayfez represents a luxurious take on the Riads in Fez and I look forward to staying again in the near future.
