• Viviana (5/5): - Breakfast was delicious, staff friendly, and the bar room had a lovely atmosphere, great views from the bedrooms, nice hot showers. The location is gorgeous. The room was cold, and I had to switch on portable heaters that took forever to heat up. Bedrooms had not been tidied up on the second day. The accommodation was very pricey in comparison to the accommodation, the bed was not comfortable. At dinner, we were told that many of the food onmenu was not available. The hotel has potential but is just not currently up to the price paid for it.

• Gill (8/5): A lovely Inn serving good food and comfortable rooms - The room was great, plenty of space and very comfortable. Location and car parking was brilliant too. The two ladies on arrival were very friendly and helpful and we enjoyed an excellent evening meal. which was catered to our needs, with quick service and efficient staff. Unfortunately the breakfast experience was not so good. No one to direct us to our options, they had run out of brown bread half an hour into the session, quality of bread available for toast not too good , orange juice ran out and was not topped up and the whole experience took an hour, as the service was very slow, the staff member almost 'hid' in the kitchen!! However, when the cooked breakfast did arrive, it was very nice and much enjoyed.

• Christopher (4/5): A poor effort in Loch Shiel - Nothing much really. In effect the hotel was a worksite unprepared for guests. The entry point was changed and confusing. There was no doorknob for the bar entry. I had to put my hand under the door to open it!! There was painting and a mess in another room. There was so much clutter in our room that we had to remove one chair so that we could open our luggage. The bathroom door got stuck on the floor. The shower was small. I could say more but ..........

• Stefan (4/5): Leider Baustelle ohne Vorwarnung - Das Frühstück war sehr gut, auch die neue Besitzerinnen Das Hotel wird wohl komplett renoviert und wurde vor zwei Wochen neu übernommen. Leider wurde dies nirgends erwähnt und wir waren auf dem Zimmer und im Bad ohne Heizung und mitten in den Renovierungsarbeiten. Für das Zimmer wurden Heitzlüfter zur Verfügung gestellt, das Bad blieb jedoch kalt. Wir reden natürlich darüber das es draußen kalt (3 Grad ) war. Die Zimmer waren leider auch viel kleiner wie beschrieben. Das war für uns leider nicht ertragbar und der Preis wurde voll berechnet. Wir durften aber ein Tag früher abreisen. In allem wird es sicherlich schön werden und die Gastgeber waren sehr nett. Allerdings hätte man das vorher kommunizieren sollen.

• Ryan (5/5): Gone to dogs - Not much this visit.Sorry Sold this hotel to my wife claiming the food is ok but plenty and breakfast is really good but this time the evening meal was rubbish and was hungry after I finished and breakfast was rubbish sorry . Found out later the place is up for sale so the owners not bothered. Will say again when it’s been sold and refurbished. Room curtain rail fell off wall then I remembered it fell off on my last visit a year before . Shower over bath was ok but water did not drain even overnight the bath was half full

• Edward (10/5): A Stunning Typical Scottish Country Hotel - The hotel is very close to town and is a lovely setting. Excellent bicycle storage. Hotel itself is very Scottish inside . Has a nice bar with pool table. Room was fab. Young lad serving us at breakfast was very efficient. The full Scottish break was very good. We obviously cycled there and the scenery from Lochailort Railway Station was beautiful. The owner warned us that the Kilchoan to Tobermory CalMac Ferry was cancelled due to high wind. We discovered when we got there the ferry was running normally. The cycle route to the ferry was marvellous. Everything was very nice and no complaints.

• gert (7/5): Prachtige route naar het hotel. - De vriendelijkheid van de oudere man bij het ontbijt. En de vrolijkheid van de jonge man bij het diner. Het ontbijt was prima. Parkeermogelijkheid en mogelijkheid om te dineren. Beetje botte ontvangst door de barkeeper. De kamer is verouderd en helaas niet schoon. Ondanks dat we maanden terug hebben geboekt hadden we een kamer met teleurstellend uitzicht. Spinnenwebben in de badkamer.

It was busy which is always a good sign as locals were enjoying night out. It was a bit out of the way and we thought we'd booked at Shiel Bridge which was 2 hours away! Next time I will check map!

• Julie (1/5): Arnaque ! - Attention! Grosse arnaque J'ai réservé et payé cet hôtel pour mes parents via une plateforme très connue. Sur place, une dame a refait payer mes parents ( ils ont été pris de court, elle a amené le terminal au milieu du petit déjeuner, ils n'étaient plus surs si j'avais ou non déjà payé). Bref, la chambre à été payée deux fois..... Le responsable a tout de suite reconnu l'erreur mais cela fait deux mois qu'il me balade ( entre prétendue maladie qui l'aurait empêché de s'en occuper et complexité extrême à rembourser la chambre). Il a mon RIB et soit disant ne peut pas me virer l'argent et il vient juste de me demander si je pouvais plutôt lui envoyer mon numéro de CB, date expiration et code sécurité pour "me rembourser plus facilement". C'est quoi cet endroit? Franchement des gros voleurs, rien à dire d'autre.

Set in a small village in the countryside close to the ferry to Isle of Mull, we enjoyed hospitable staff, good coffee och excellent smoked salmon. The pub and restaurant filled up in the evening. The beer was good and the company excellent. We can highly recommend Loch Shiel hotel.

Mobila ar trebui actualizata. Micul dejun bun, produse proaspete și de calitate Curte mare perfectă pentru picnic. Faptul ca pe traseu se fac lucrări de modernizare la drum de care nu stiam și se ajunge mult mai greu.

Le personnel est serviable et à votre écoute. Le restaurant et le bar est un plus pour cet hôtel qui se situe à 1h30 de Fort William et 50 minutes de Glenfinnan

• Donald (7/5): A good stopping point with friendly staff. - Loch Shiel provided a good midway point for our travels. Staff were very friendly and made every effort to be accommodating. There was a great selection for breakfast and it was well-presented. The room was somewhat tired and quirky with a need for updating. Compared to our experience at other B & B's, the price was as high but provided fewer amenities.

Room was very spacious, shower head needs sorted but it water and very clean and tidy Definitely recommend to anyone 👌🏼 I would definitely return The restaurant menu limited in the evening Shower head needs adjusted so the water comes out properly but it does work.
