  The Bamff Old Brewhouse is a cottage-like wing of the old castle which has access to a large shared lawn. It is compact and cozy with a wood-burning stove & central heating from the biomass boiler of the castle. It has a comfortable sitting room, a dining room and two bedrooms. The dining room can be converted to a single room with Z bed on request. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher. There is also a freezer and washing machine. The Old Brewhouse also has Wi-Fi.

  Ideal for adventurous guests, The Bamff Hideaway is an off-grid cabin set in the woodlands of Bamff Estate. The cabin is completed with solar lighting and the wood burner keeps the cabin warm in the evenings. The Bamff Hideaway comes with a king-size bed, z-bed and hammock. It has a seating area and dining area, as well as basic cooking facilities and a wood burning stove (with initial supply of firewood). It has its own composting toilet in a separate unit, and off grid showering facilities are available 66 feet away. There is a walk of 328 feet into the woods from the Hideaway car-park. The shared facilities in Bamff House are around 820 feet away from the Hideaway.

  Easter Bamff is a small six-room house. (2 up, 2 down, plus small kitchen and bathroom). The kitchen is fully equipped, and the bathroom has a separate shower and bath. There is one double room and one twin. It has its own fenced garden at front and back and is next to the sheep fields and very close to the Bamff Wildland with its beaver wetlands. It has a sitting room and a dining room and two wood burning stoves. IT also has central heating and Wi-Fi.

  The Burnieshed Cabin is totally off-grid, off the beaten path and out on its own. It was built by a collaboration of artist-joiners from old and new materials, furnished with a mixture of antiques and rustic creations, and accessed by a 15-minute walk along a woodland footpath, past Bamff's impressive beaver wetlands, staying here is a unique and unforgettable experience. You are in a sunny clearing in the woods, in the middle of the Wildland - among roe deer, badgers, barn owls and red squirrels. The Cabin has a large wood-burning stove, a two ring camping gas cooker, and a freezer box. It has its own composting loo in the woods behind. You can refreeze your freezer blocks, fill up your water container and get on Wi-Fi at Bamff House. A supply of fire-wood is included in the deal. Sorry, no dogs allowed because family members are allergic.

• Matti (8/5): Wilderness lodge not far from Dundee or Perth. - Quiet location, wilderness area, and off grid in terms of wifi and electricity plugs were at the main reception area rather than the accommodation. Getting there requires a car in most cases, and fireplace was the only type of heating so you need to know how to use it. It gave a bit of smoke inside the lodge.

• louise (8/5): We loved our stay for the peace, quiet, friendliness. Watch the beavers if you can - A beautiful spacious house, enclosed garden for the dog. Very comfortable bed. Host very helpful, accommodating, great suggestions. Lots of wild life. Very peaceful. Wifi was unstable. We didn't mind having no TV but someone else might expect that. Not much crockery. No hairdryer.

Am - A magical estate with the most beautiful and well thought through hideaway. We could see beavers while having breakfast! The owners were super friendly and helpful. • Michael (10/5): Bamff is an inspiring experience - The perfect envioriment for getting back to nature for a peaceful holiday, and also to observe nature being allowed to revert back to its earlier existence. Bamff is apealing to everyone we are not experts but enjoy being in a rural setting. We stayrd for 4 nights, but this was not long enough explore everything the is to see and absorb. But that is the nature of the place, there is always something new and unpredicable to enjoy, from the Cuckoo and the red squirrel, to the pigs ,who lke a good scratch, and the ponies with their foals careering over the fields. And ofcourse there are beavers where booking a walk with the owners, Paul and Louise, who are delightful, and dedicated to their project makes the visit more worthwhile.

• Tracy (10/5): Countryside bliss, great accommodation. - The accommodation was outstanding. Clean spacious well equipped with what you need for your stay. This was Dog friendly cottage with an enclosed garden for your dog to run around. It was peaceful with lovely views, packed with wildlife. The best way to describe It, would be walking in to a lottery win, your dream countryside home. Scotland is such a beautiful place, very friendly people. I Would definitely recommend, if you don’t mind not having a TV or workable Wi-Fi this is a gorgeous place to stay. The Intermittent Wi-Fi signal, affect google and WhatsApp messages meant my sister and I was unfortunately unable to plan and communicate for are next day trip on an evening. (My sister was staying in the main house). We usually travel alone so this wouldn’t have affected us normally.

Double bed was comfortable. Reasonably good value. With some small tweaks it could be absolutely brilliant. Twin beds very uncomfortable - we addressed this with the hosts who took action. Wifi not suitable for working remotely. Fine for a holiday where you don't need to do much online, but note no tv or facility to stream. It would have been nice to have access to more bedding. Duvets on single beds small for adults. Bath towels were very small. No locks on bathroom or toilet doors - annoying when travelling with group beyond immediate family . Immediate outdoor vicinity could do with tidying up a bit.

• Nicola (9/5): A magical place surrounded by nature, ideal for walking and wildlife watching, - Wonderful location nestled in the woods and surrounded by nature. Perfect base for walks right from the door. Incredible to see so much wildlife including beaver spotting every evening at twilight.

Informative beaver walk with Paul and lots of beaver sightings, easy access to other local sights. Lovely food in nearby Alyth and Peel Farm and great ice cream at Barrie Box. Comfortable cozy accomodation with lovely log burner.
• Sofia (10/5): Nice countryside - We stayed at the Gate lodge. It was so cozy and cute with a private garden and a fireplace inside. It was cold and rainy outside so it was so nice that you had left wood for us so we could make a fire. The beds were really comfortable and there was everything you need in the kitchen. Everything was great. We didn't understand at first that the house was in the beginning of the road so we drove up the road to the big house and asked for help
• Lisa (10/5): Such a magical place, every time I visit I get to see more and more wildlife. - My second time staying at Bamff Ecotourism in the Shepherds Hut. Hut was once again clean and comfortable with everything you could need supplied in the hut. Such a beautiful and peaceful location if you love to be outdoors in nature.
• Stuart (6/5): Disappointed - Something that doesn't get mentioned by anybody is that there is so much traffic speeding inches past the lodge. Everybody looks in like it is a fish tank we felt like we were on display it was awful. Interrupted by a gardener one day which should not be done when guests have paid money to use the property. So rude! Very very lazy cleaning. Kitchen greasy to touch, dirty wet tea towels left, food on wall from previous guests. No effort at all put into cleaning for next guests. Broken blind in bathroom. Very few utensils in kitchen if you stay for a few days you will need to take all of your own things.

• Eleni (9/5): Serene, cosy and true to its character - The location was super lovely. Even though there were other units around, it felt quite private. We felt like exploring and we loved being so connected with nature. The bed was so comfortable and warm. The little hut had everything we might need, including wood for the stove. Overall, it was what we expected, a cute hut in the woods and we could have easily spent more time there. There was a communal bathroom which was located 3mins walking distance from our accommodation unit, a bit challenging if we would want to use it during a rainy time or at night. What is more, we found it a bit difficult to check in as we couldn't find anyone to chat to and spent time being a bit lost - eventually a lovely gentleman helped us find our way. We didn't like the fact that we were asked to pay for extra wood for the stove or if we wanted to start a bonfire outside. One last thing: in the evening, there was some kind of gathering taking place in one of the gardens and we thought it was a communal event that we could join - when we arrived the people (who we believe were volunteers at the farm) looked at us all suspicious and said this was a private event. In my mind, promoting eco-tourism is being part of a community and sharing. It wouldn't have been of harm to invite us to join them and share the spirit.
• Celia (8/5): Fine - Location. Lovely and peaceful and the wildlife was amazing. The bathroom could have been cleaner, particularly the shower. The double bed was a struggle, every time you moved it made a noise, meant we didn’t sleep very well at all. Girls slept well in the bunk beds though.

• Claudia (9/5): Excellent for wildlife watching - We booked this accommodation because it is a rewilding estate and we loved our stay. It was so peaceful and the views were amazing. We loved being surrounded by nature and being able to go for long walks and see the wildlife on the estate. We would definitely stay there again. The kitchen and bathroom could benefit from some modernisation, but they have everything you need.

• Doug (9/5): A superb period farmhouse set in a rural location within easy drive to local town. - An exceptional idyllic location which is ideal for escaping the rat race. The open fields and wildlife on the doorstep were brilliant with a secure garden that our Labrador loved. Easy walking paths throughout the site which enabled views of deer, cattle and pigs roaming ... but remember this isn't an enclosed zoo so it's part of the adventure to find them. Well equipped period cottage with huge rooms ideal set up for all usual Scottish weather from open patio for sun worship to wood burning stoves and central heating with the bonus of a drying room for wet gear on the softer days. There was WiFi but no phone signal and as we're all spoiled now by good connection it wasn't ideal for planning trips from the site etc but functional for email and Whatsapp

• Grzegorz (10/5): Great place in the countryside - Amazing location out of the way. Small cottage for independent use surrounded by magnificent nature. The owners care about restoring the natural environment, which is noticeable. On the one hand, living away from the city, on the other hand, a great starting point for exploring Scotland by car. I would recommend for a wilderness escape as well as a place to spend the night while exploring the Scottish countryside.

• Miranda (9/5): Cosy, clean, dog-friendly cottage. Highly recommended - The Gate Lodge cottage was lovely and clean with a large enclosed garden for dogs. It took us a few attempts to get the wood burner going, but once we got it, it was lovely and cosy. The welcome pack did say we could ask for help if needed, but we managed it and there were plenty of logs outside the front door for us. We met the owner who was very helpful and friendly. The whole estate was lovely, well-kept and great for nature walks. The welcome pack gives you plenty of information about the area and has a trail map and notes how long each trail takes to walk, which was really helpful. There is a small honesty shop at the main house selling eggs, chocolate, snacks and kindling and there is a large Tesco in Blairgowrie and other shops in nearby Alyth for all your main groceries. We would recommend visiting the antique centres in the area such as the Scottish Antique and Arts Centre which is huge and the Rait Antiques Centre. We also spent a day in Dundee and found a dog friendly restaurant for lunch. I stayed for a week with my hubby, 13 year old son and two pups and everyone had a lovely time here. Highly recommended. Not something negative about the property itself; however, a gentle reminder to “city folks” like us. It’s the country, so as expected, almost every time the dogs came in from the garden, out walks rummaging through long grass or sticking their heads in bushes, they had a tick crawling on their fur. So please make sure your dogs have been pre-treated for ticks and check them each time they come in. The owner’s remind you of this in their welcome pack, but just a heads up for those like us who are not used to this.

• Eilidh (10/5): Perfect off grid getaway. - Secluded in nature. We even got a glimpse of the beavers on a quiet walk back to our car. Loved all the windows for natural light & views. Everything we needed was provided. We would have loved to stay longer & hope to return in summer. Toilet is a bit far away for night time, however it was mainly the weather that made the journey worse.
• Roxanna (10/5): Perfect break to get back to nature - We stayed in the hideaway next to the beaver pools. It’s an off grid cabin so don’t expect running water or electricity. The hideaway is very comfortable and has basic cooking facilities provided by gas, a log burner to keep the cabin warm and fairy lights powered by solar panels. The location of the hideaway is perfect for those seeking peace and quiet in nature, no light pollution or close neighbours (unless you count the wildlife). Composting loo and has run shower also available for use. The bed in the cabin is very comfortable and bedding of good quality, basic utensils and cooking facilities which is everything you need for a short stay. Towels provided. Honestly shop at the main house for purchasing wood, candles and other bits. The estate is part of a rewording project and has cattle, panties, pigs, deer and of course the beavers. We saw the beavers on the first and last night we stayed at around 8pm in the evening. The owners and people running the estate are friendly and helpful. Perfect opportunity to stay with nature and get away from it all, not for people expecting luxury and hot tub holidays but perfect for what we wanted. This was our second visit so will be returning. Nothing to dislike.

• Sandhaze (9/5): Superb - Lovely big free standing victorian bath and the cottage is packed with original features, including beautiful sash windows. Warm and comfortable hide away in the middle of nature.
• Kim (10/5): A wonderful project, amazing people and a beautiful place to stay! - It’s an amazing location, especially with the rewilding project going on. The reintroduction of the beavers and the the love for the environment make this a special place. It’s serene, beautiful and very spacious - inside and out. The gatehouse we were in has a lovely fireplace, making for cosy nights. Oh and make sure you do the beaver tour ! If I have to say something that could be better it would be that the gatehouse had quite some dusty areas. But that is nothing taking into account to the beauty and ambiance of the place!

• Siobhan (10/5): Magical stay - This place is magical we loved every single minute of our stay, we wished we had booked longer! We stayed in the gate lodge it was so cosy and peaceful! Lovely walk along to the beavers, honestly couldn't fault a thing. Already highly recommended to family and friends and we would go back in a heartbeat. Everything was perfect!

• Lisa (10/5): A must for nature lovers! I will be back to try one of the other locations. - The rewilders hut was fantastic, it contained everything you could need. I had a brilliant nights sleep after taking a lovely walk and spotting lots of wildlife. That I was only there for 1 night!
• Melanie (5/5): Short and glad off it. - Not applicable The property appears to be tired and dated in some parts of the accommodation which requires attention, would not stay in colder weather. like the sense of being eco friendly but very little proof of this apart from eco friendly toiletries and cleaning products compost pot which is a start but not what I would call eco-friendly entirely. I really would not stay here again.
• Marilyn (10/5): Family getaway - The accommodation (Easter Bamff and The Gate Lodge) was fab, comfortable, clean and cosy. The estate is peaceful with lots of wildlife. Loved seeing the Beavers and the pigs. Nothing was all great

• Paul (9/5): Easter Bamff Cottage Beautiful old farmhouse style cottage. Stunning scenery with plenty of walks. - Stunning location with a warm welcome from the hosts No TV but WiFi so we downloaded things to watch
• Natalia (5/5): Passable - I have to say, living in a yurt was not the best experience. It's not something I would recommend to anyone. However, I have to give credit to the owners of the place we stayed at - they have several other types of accommodation available and it looks like they've all been updated and equipped with modern amenities. So while I can't speak for the yurt, I'm sure the rest of the housing options are much more pleasant to stay in. We stayed in an old yurt that was quite cold and damp. Unfortunately, it wasn't very clean either. The shared kitchen was messy, and we couldn't find a whole cup or plate. It was a bit disappointing, and we left after the first night. Thankfully, we were able to receive a refund for the second night.
• Tijs (10/5): Very comfortable stay in a super interesting rewilding area - The estate is just lovely for a walk, spotting the free roaming pigs, the odd deer and in the evenings the beavers.

• Stephen (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful cottage, has everything you need, just bring food and drink. Estate is amazing and will get better in time, rewilding project is going well. Make sure you have good walking shoes as this is a great area to stretch your legs. Beavers are well behaved, don't make a lot of noise and perform most mornings around 5am, even in the rain. Having to go home, we would have loved to stay longer. Kara, our dog, was glad to get home for a rest. 7 hours of walking a day was a bit to much for her but she loved lying in front of the wood burner of an evening.

Balancing our belongings on the wheelbarrow through all the slippy, muddy, uneven paths in the rain was less than enjoyable. Nearly fell a few times. It'd be beneficial to have the option of having luggage/belongings taken to Burnieshead Cabin by Quad for a small fee perhaps?
