• Francoise (9/5): - C’est un endroit calme, reposant et la chambre est meublée avec goût. L’équipement à disposition permet de préparer un en-cas. L’hote est très sympathique et transmet son amour pour ce pays. Petit déjeuner copieux. C’est un havre de paix avec une superbe vue. Vous serez également accueilli par une joyeuse ribambelle de chiens affectueux. Notre séjour était trop court... Je recommande vivement.
• Franson (8/5): Hacienda Sassenberg is a unique experience that we will always remember. - Beautiful setting, lots of animals to pet. The included breakfast was delicious. The dwelling was roomy and had a luxurious bathroom. The bed was comfortable and the linens and towels were great quality and very clean. My disappointment was there was no food or beverages available to purchase when we finally arrived after a long travel day. We had to get back in our car and drive to a local restaurant. Luckily, Dylan’s restaurant was close to our property.

• Joerg (9/5): Great place with very friendly hosts - This is a family run place, where they take the time to have a chat with the guests and you feel the passion of being hosts and making their guests having a good time. If you look for a place in the nature and a bit of the mainstream tourist spots to discover Monteverde mountains, this will be a great place. If you have children they will love the animals they hold on the property. The little house I stayed was clean and the breakfast was great. If I come back to Costa Rica, I will visit again and stay for a couple of days. Nothing I didn’t like.

• De (10/5): Amazing stay in the mountains, surrounded by nature and a fantastic view of the sea - The property was amazing, we were surrounded by birds and it felt like we were in the middle of the forest but with all the luxuries of the modern world. There is a swimming were we swam in during our stay. The breakfast was out of this world and we loved sharing stories with the owner + 1 other guest during our breakfast. Our son did not want to leave when we had to leave to go to our new location. I wish we had more days to spend here! -

Room was spacious and clean for my family of four. The wifi is slow if you need to rely on it for work. I recommend not to work and enjoy the beauty of this land.
• Karen (9/5): Really a wonderful place and look forward to coming back when I have a little more time to relax. - The little casita was really nice and very comfortable. Loved the property and it was so nice to get out up into the mountains and out of the heat. They serve an awesome breakfast. Everything was fresh and delicious! There were a lot of ants when we stayed there. I was wearing sandals and got bit outside in the grass by a big red ant. Inside the casita there were big black ants...its the tropics so this is normal, but a pest control inside the casita would most likely help. Note for travelers - ants are a normal occurrence in Costa Rica and the rainy season brings them out. The red ants we saw were leaf cutter ants and had gone away the next day after they stripped a plant of it's leaves so they can make their food.

• Daniela (9/5): Superb - We only stayed one night at Hacienda Sassenberg but we loved it here. Heiko was very friendly and helpful. the kids loved all the animals and we loved the views. comfy beds and spacious room. We also had dinner onsite which was delicious (but not cheap, $20 for a main course with drinks). Excellent breakfast! the pool was too cold for us to swim in...
• Howard (9/5): A beautiful place for a quiet stay up in the mountains above Miramar, Costa Rica - Super breakfast!! Great location. My room had very poor internet connection for WiFi and no local telephone service.
