Guest Reviews
- kelli (10/5): Perfection in the Douro Valley - Everything was absolutely wonderful!!! Wish we could have stayed longer!
- Charlotte (10/5): -
- Celi (10/5): An experience you only read about in magazines like Travel & Leisure, memorable! We ese saw a rainbow. - The views of and from the property were extraordinary! The staff to greet and to make our meals were beyond friendly, welcoming and completely accommodating. The space and house is a gem to explore. We had their in house 3 course meal and it was exquisite. The breakfast service was just as delicious and so much detail on their buffet table display. They entren made us eggs to order. Fruits were fresh and varied. Homemade breads and jams topped the breakfast.
Enjoyed the ability to grab a tea/coffee and or snack in their house kitchen area.
- Jacinta (9/5): Delightful short term stay in magnificent Douro valley - Beautiful views. Welcoming staff.
Gorgeous ‘farmhouse’ and some very nice port. Magnificent modern wine cellar. Bedroom was lovely but a bit small for travelers with a lot of luggage.
- mordechay (9/5): -
- Jane (8/5): Enjoyed the beautiful surroundings and the staff were very helpful. The nicest of 5 Pousadas we have stayed at - Beautiful renovation of a lovely old monastery. Very chic and pared down Quite remote.
- Polly (9/5): -
- Michal (10/5): A truly memorable stay. - Our stay at Quinta da Côrte was wonderful.
The property itself is absolutely beautiful, elegant, peaceful and surrounded by breathtaking views of the Douro Valley. The atmosphere is calm and refined, yet still feels warm and welcoming. Every corner of the hotel is thoughtfully designed, with great attention to detail.
The rooms are very comfortable, beautifully decorated and feel perfectly connected to the landscape outside. Waking up surrounded by vineyards and the quiet of the valley was truly special.
The staff were kind, professional and attentive throughout our stay, and made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived.
We also really enjoyed the wine experience and the overall atmosphere of the estate. It is the perfect place to slow down, relax and enjoy the beauty of the Douro.
A truly memorable stay.
- SusanVan (10/5): - Views and location
- Antonia (7/5): A pleasant but overpriced stay. - Its location and peacefulness. Very nicely renovated Quinta. Breathtaking views. Very nice and good quality breakfast. It is overpriced and they have a tendency to overcharge. We had their dinner on the first evening we arrived and they charged us the taster glass of wine as a full glass without warning. The visit of the winery is also very interesting but again we were charged the most expensive tasting option when there were cheaper options which was not properly explained. Staff at breakfast had to be prompted to replenish the buffet. Staff overall nit proactive ( lack of training?) for a property of this standing and pretension.

- james (10/5): - Magnificent setting f riendly helpful staff good food excellent wine wonderful stay
- Francisca (10/5): -
- Johanna (10/5): - Beautiful location, very proper, well maintained and clean. The only negative thing to say about our stay is that the shower is a bit unreliable. Sometimes there was very little water pressure, sometimes no hot water. Other than that we had a fantastic stay.

- Megan (9/5): - BEAUTIFUL place, we loved the pool, the food & wine and scenery. I visited your property to celebrate my 50th birthday, and while the setting is beautiful, there were some parts of the experience that fell short of expectations.
First, Google Maps did not bring us to the correct location, which made arrival challenging. Once we found the property, our greeting by staff felt low in enthusiasm. As first-time guests, we had hoped for a warm welcome and a short overview of amenities, perhaps even a brief tour of your beautiful estate, but none of this was provided. We didn’t know how to book meals, arrange a wine tour, what amenities were available, or how to access them. We were simply told, “the pool is over there,” which from our view was not clear at all and felt like a hassle to even figure out.
When shown to our room, there was no introduction beyond “here it is.” We also noticed the adjoining room door was open; when we asked about it, we were told it was not available, but the door was never locked or followed up on. At departure, when we inquired about purchasing wine and shipping it to the U.S., the response we received felt more like a burden than assistance, so we chose not to purchase. We would have also loved the option to purchase your olive oil, but it was never offered. Only after completing the post-stay survey did I learn you had a spa, which we certainly would have booked had we known!
On a positive note, the restaurant staff was absolutely delightful, warm, attentive, and truly a highlight of our experience.
Overall, we were delighted to spend time at your property for such a special occasion, but the guest experience and communication fell short of what we had hoped for. A warmer welcome, clearer orientation to amenities, and more proactive service would make a big difference.
- Olivia (10/5): - This was the best stay! The winery and the vineyard was stunning. We had a great tasting and cheese board. Definitely have the dinner that they offer. The infinity pool is breathtaking. The service was great. We have nothing bad to say! Nothing!

- Kaatje (9/5): perfect stay in portugal - Loved the location , the rooms, the swimming pool , the service
Amazing breakfast nothing
- Christine (10/5): Relaxing - The views the pool the wine the location the food Nothing
- Christine (10/5): So relaxing it was hard to move on - Remote location, unbelievable swimming pool, the view, the wine, the food, the stylish interior, Nothing
- Isabel (10/5): -
- Kieran (10/5): Very peaceful, a good tour of the winery one evening.a nice walk through the vineyard - Located in the middle of a 100 hectare terraced vineyard. Very remote and peaceful.
- Tomoyoshi (10/5): - Breathtaking views, friendly service that was above and beyond, and very comfortable bed and breakfast vibe. The staff were very helpful in recommending activities in the area, the views from the pool were amazing and breakfasts and dinners were amazing; not just for the food but for the great conversations we had with other guests.
- grace (10/5): - A little precarious to get to but well worth it. The wine was excellent We think a welcome glass (if not a bottle) of wine would have been a good touch. We were surprised it wasn't offered
- Lisa (10/5): Quinta da Côrte was the perfect place to stay to explore the Douro Valley! - Amazing optional evening dinner especially with the paired wine tasting! Great walk on the premises through the vineyard. Staff went above and beyond to make our stay perfect.
- cynthia (10/5): -
- Steven (8/5): - The property was beautiful in a wonderful setting. The tour was very interesting and the buildings were well designed and appointed. The evening meal was disappointing. It was expensive but modest. The fish stew was salty and the sardine was fishy.
- muriel (9/5): -
- Thomas (9/5): Restful, amazing views and great experience in the Quinta - Friendly and helpful staff and stunning property and vineyard
- Susan (10/5): It w as a very peaceful and restful way to end a hard week trekking the Camino trail. - Wonderful experience, excellent food and wine, and overall staff and amazing property. Very welcoming. The road to get there is steep and narrow, and a harrowing drive, but the staff and people of the area make it easy for all to reach the property. And the views and accommodations make it worth it.
- Elizabeth (10/5): -
- Maria (9/5): Personal, friendly and serviceminded -
- Stephen (8/5): Great location atentive staff would not recommend based on food offering - Beautiful location nice rooms staff very attentive Food was marginal at best breakfast limited offering no eggs. Dinner was very disappointing. Would have expected more from a Quinta of this price range.
- Valentin (8/5): Comfortable, homely and what a view - Homely genuine small location. Common table dinner was nice to meet fellow travellers Limited food offering and pool could be warmer (october)
- Laura (9/5): A lovely property in a lovely setting! - The breakfast was plentiful. The swimming pool was divine - spring-fed (COLD!) water fed into an infinity pool overlooking the vineyards. Stunning. The dining room was very noisy - some acoustic panels would be useful if hung over the long dining table. Also, this was one of two meals over 10 days in Portugal that did not meet our expectations.
- Liesbeth (9/5): Surprised by tasteful designed interiors, peace and quiet, friendly staff, wonderful food! -
- Danna (10/5): A stay at Quinta da Corte makes you appreciate the beauty and culture of the area. - It was a real treat to experience this Quinta. The decor was just so right for the architecture of the buildings and the beautiful setting. Our room in the main building was comfortable and well appointed and every member of the staff was super accommodating. We also totally enjoyed the winery tour and tasting. Amazing views and a delicious breakfast would keep us returning. The drive to the hotel provides a thrill best experienced in daylight. This would not be the right hotel if your mobility is challenged due to the steepness and uneven terrain.
- Annette (9/5): Recommend! - Absolutely beautiful property. The rooms and main house are gorgeous. You can also walk around the vineyard and lounge around the pool. The breakfast was also very good and super fresh. Not a con but more of a heads up - It’s quite difficult to get around if you don’t have a car and the drive is very windy. I’d recommend maybe 1 night here but not more than that. Also the arranged dinner is ok….the chef tried to get too fancy but I’d think it’d be better if he stuck to basics and focused on executing that well.
- Debbie (9/5): -
- Ashby (8/5): Stunning location overlooking the Douro - Perfect mountain top location with stunning views across the vineyards to the Douro river. Spacious and tastefully decorated rooms with interesting art works throughout the property. Excellent wine tour with Xavier who was very knowledgeable showing us the new and old cellars which were incredible. Lovely spring water infinity pool surrounded by vines and olive trees. Food a little over priced for a set menu.
- Joseph (9/5): -
- KERRY (10/5): Perfection! - Beautiful location, delicious wine, attentive staff, and incredible dinners. The drive from the gate to the Quinta was a little daunting.
- Jen (10/5): -
- Corinne (10/5): -
- Scott and Terri (10/5): Little piece of heaven in Portugal! - The beauty of the setting, the wonderful staff, the chefs meals were outstanding! Peaceful and tranquility.
- Helen (10/5): Just superb! One of our favourite places to relax and unwind - This was our second visit to Quinta da Corte and it didn’t disappoint. Very relaxing three days with beautiful sunshine. Such an easy, chilled vibe and we particularly enjoy eating dinner round the big table with other guests. Good rustic Portuguese food and very entertaining conversations.
- Leen (10/5): -
- Wanda (10/5): -
- Luís (9/5): -
- Sidney (9/5): - Simpatia, Atenção, Serviço Impecável.
- Lucas (9/5): -
- Steven (9/5): Beautiful property with amazing views! - My wife and I loved the views of the valley and river, we loved the peacefulness of having breakfast on the terrace and walking through the vineyards to the pool, we loved the meals that were served and meeting and talking to the other guests. We also loved their Port that they made. The road getting to and from there is terrifying. It is very steep and and curvy and at times it isn't necessarily wide enough for two way traffic.
- Baha (10/5): Fantastic little getaway in a historic vineyard very nice meals and a great view of the valley - The rooms and decor were fantastic. The pool being in the vineyard was amazing and the dinner was very tasty. Beds could have been a bit softer
- Leah (10/5): Gorgeous Quinta - The whole place is gorgeous, from the rooms, the kitchen, and the pool. The only thing that could've been improved was having fresh coffee earlier, even if the breakfast isn't ready.
- Jonas (9/5): -
- Bridget (6/5): Driving 90 minutes from Porto would have been better. - Beautiful location Very expensive for just a room and breakfast
- Tom (10/5): -
- Alisa (10/5): -
- L. nergis (8/5): - Authentic, quiet, natural atmosphere No tea, coffee facility in the room.
- Decoração do Espaço, tranquilidade do local.
- A piscina é fantástica.
A vista é incrível.
- Melinda (10/5): Relaxing experience with a beautiful view. Would recommend it!! - The location was stunning. Excellent view. We really loved the pool area - breathtaking & relaxing. Breakfast was lovely. Everyone working there was friendly & helpful. We also bought a bottle of red wine that was very tasty. We loved our stay! Nothing.
- Itzhak (9/5): -
- Roselyne (7/5): Incredible view , beautiful hotel but disappointing service - Stunning view , very interesting decoration The hotel is extremely isolated and hard to access . The quality of the staff variable . The quality of the food at dinner time in the restaurant is very poor , mostly frozen , poorly presented and pricy .The winery tour was given by a incompetent hotel staff member .
There is no manager on site and it shows
- Johanna (8/5): Very good -

- Demirsecen (7/5): Good -
- Rhett (10/5): Exceptional -
- Zoia (9/5): Superb -
- Darryl (8/5): Very good - Beautiful property. Lovely infinity pool. Excellent wine tasting experience. The dinner meal was just "ok" and definitely not worth the price.
- Ben (8/5): lovely experience and a charming Quinta but it’s a shame the service didn’t quite live up to what it could have been. - amazing location, beautiful setting and design our room was not serviced and the staff did not apologies or seem to care.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Beautiful - Space
Walks scenery Needed wine price in room
- Pieter-jan (10/5): Magnificent stay in Douro valley - Magnificent hotel with wonderful views over the Douro valley and vineyards. Beautiful room. Beautiful pool, which blends perfectly with the surroundings. Nice breakfast, which was not served outside with us, despite nice weather. Good dinner, served in beautiful dining room with classic hearth. Perfect location, 15 min (drive) from Pinhao. Rather expensive winery tour and tasting, despite discount for hotel guests.
- Jennifer (9/5): Lovely stay with gorgeous views. - The views from the quinta are quite breathtaking and beautiful. The infinity pool is a few minutes walk away from the quinta and is so relaxing to take a bottle of wine and enjoy the stunning views. The communication regarding dinner on-site wasn't great. I confirmed via email well in advance that we would like to have dinner at the property on our first night, but because I didn't answer my mobile phone the day of the dinner since I was at a tasting at the time (and they didn't leave me a voicemail message, email, or text) they released our reservation for dinner. If I would have received a voicemail or text asking us what option we'd like for dinner, that canceled dinner reservation could easily been avoided.
We had a tasting at the Quinta and the person giving our tour didn't really have much passion. He was nice enough, but he was definitely going through the motions. I don't think it was worth the money. I'd look up reviews for nearby Quintas with better tours and tastings for less of the price. I wouldn't have scheduled a tasting anyway if we weren't staying there. You're better off buying a bottle and drinking it at the pool.
- Catherine (9/5): Relaxing Quinta , perfect to distress from everyday life - Secluded area with stunning views. Chic ambience . I would suggest this property for 1/2 nights but just staying in the hotel by the pool relaxing reading. The food was very good ( and I’m a foodie ) You need a car, without one you can’t go anywhere.you need to get in touch with hotel to help you out here, but it was challenging . We found communication with the employees difficult resulting in many misunderstandings which could have easily been sorted and caused much confusion
- Gill (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful location and great hospitality.
- Hannah (6/5): The most beautiful location - but don't expect to be able to enjoy the wonderful views! - The most incredible location & views. The swimming pool is incredible and is separate to the property, through a path within the vineyard so it's very quiet, relaxing and a great sun spot. Rooms are lovely, albeit quite a bit smaller than appears on the pictures. Surprised that no one else has mentioned this on the reviews - there is nowhere to eat other than the hotel (in walking distance). We knew this beforehand and were happy to eat on site noting the reviews were all positive and having seen the pictures of the perfect outdoor setting, we envisaged a romantic sunset meal in this idyllic location. When we arrived, we were asked to choose our dinner option and commit to a time we would arrive in the dining room as we were told 'we all like to eat together'. So essentially, you are forced to enter a windowless dining room whilst it's still light outside to sit on a long dining table, elbow to elbow with other guests. You are in fact closer to the other guests than you are to your significant other who is opposite you (but the table is wide so no private conversations are really possible). I would like to state here that I do accept this is a lovely experience for people who a) like communal dining and/or b) are travelling alone. My issue is that this was not advertised/ communicated before booking. We travelled here for 1 night for my partners birthday and I had expected, as mentioned, to be able to have a romantic, special meal (bear in mind it was the most expensive meal of our entire trip in Portugal) outside, watching the sunset. I'm leaving this review to be the first (and only!) person to let others know what to truly expect from this stay. IF paying 150 euros for a very average meal + nice wine to be pushed on you next to strangers with no other option is something that appeals to you then this is the right place. But do not come here if you expect to be able to sit outside in one of the idyllic settings in Portugal and watch the sunset over the Douro Valley or want to just be able to eat with your travel partner. Overall, a beautiful location but I don't think the experience or the food was worth the money (tough meat & quite tasteless fish).
- Vytautas (10/5): Lovely - A stylish property with exceptional staff.
- Jiya (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful property with an amazing staff. Incredible attention to detail and loved the design of the hotel. We had dinner which was excellent and it was fun to eat alongside other guests staying at the property. Lunch and the pool were also fantastic. 100% recommend! N/A
- Kimberly (9/5): Wonderful stay - we very much enjoyed it! - The best part of this hotel is the gorgeous infinity pool within the vineyard. It was the most beautiful place! The food was good but not exceptional.
- Parveen (10/5): Stunning resort with an amazing pool and view. - The location is stunning. It is perched high along the range and you have this stunning awe inspiring view. The infinity pool is so lovely but a little cold for May. The rooms combine elegance with a rustic flair. Breakfast was delicious especially the yogurt. It’s a wonderful getaway. Getting up to the resort felt a little scary for a North American but actually doable if you’re responsible. We were going to take a cab to a nearby town for dinner and the quoted is 120 euros for a 20 minute drive and back. We passed. Even though we had to drive back in the darkness we managed fine.
