Guest Reviews
- Edward (3/5): Enjoyed town but not the room. - #3 was not up to the standards we expected. The code didn't work so I called the owner (?) She was not extremely helpful (seemed to be typing while talking to me). She gave us the code for the lock box which worked but once we got the key it still was really difficult, because the whole mechanism seemed faulty. We ended up having to leave the key and lockbox on the counter as we left (couldn't get the lock box to go back on). My friend had a bad night trying to sleep on the horrible futon. I would never reccomend the place. See above.
By the way, Edward is no longer alive. This was submitted by Catherine.
- Paul (7/5): Clean and comfortable but the room needs a makeover. - It was clean and comfortable, with a usable kitchen. It was in walking distance to the centre of town. The couch/sofa was in such bad condition we thought it must have come from the side of the road. The springs were dodgy and the upholstery was worn and torn in places. The TV had three remote controls but we couldn’t get it to work and there were no instructions. Our bedroom window was broken, and two of the lamps weren’t working.
- Lorin (5/5): -
- Ana (3/5): - The location and being pet friendly. I did not pay attention and realize it was a motel but probably better then a motel 6. The only bathroom is in the “master” bedroom. So if you go with a group the folks sleeping on the extra bed has to go into the room to use the restroom.
Extra bed is not as comfortable so if you have back problems I would recommend taking something for extra support.
Blinds where dusty and some dishes were not all that clean.
Space is super small just a square.
TV - does not have Roku and did not work for us.
For maybe just one couple or traveling alone it would be okay or last minute trip.
- Anonymous (1/5): Bad -
- Rosanne (8/5): Very good -
- Julian (3/5): Not a good deal - The place was not as clean as I would have liked. There was a used earplug by the bed, squished and smeared bugs on the wall in the bedroom, the TV/internet kept going out, the water temperature would not regulate and just kept getting hotter and hotter (I didn't think it was safe for my 7 year old granddaughter to shower as the shower did it to me).
- Katelyn (1/5): This place is in rough shape and does not have a second bed option. - The location was good, but that is all. I was supremely disappointed with this booking and ended up booking elsewhere for my stay.
This place cannnot be marketed as having two bed options. The futon was in horrendous shape and the bedding was also in a very bad state.
The place overall was pretty shabby to the point we didn’t feel comfortable at all. I’ll attach some photos.
There was hair everywhere and it did not feel clean.
It is run through Vacasa and I contacted them multiple times and still have not had any resolution.
- Angela (9/5): Superb -
- Dale (1/5): I want my money back - We weren't informed that when we got there we were to call them but when we got there it had a different name on it and it said no vacancy and when I called to double check the location they said I was too early and gave me the code to get in the door, so after 4 PM we used the code and it wouldn't work so we called in again and then they gave me a second code and it still wouldn't work they said they would have a manager call me but nobody ever called, we had to go to another hotel and rent a room there, we never able to get in the room
- Bianca (7/5): Good -
- Jenna (1/5): Do not stay here! - The closeness to the beach The room was not cleaned from the previous tenants and property manager wasn’t helpful. I had to dispute charges on my credit card. Disgusting room. Door didn’t lock properly, hairs on the bed, in the bath room, soap and other bathroom products in the shower. Bait or some kind of seed under the sink in the bathroom, water damage in the shower wall, tiles, baseboards and doors need to be cleaned and painted. New furniture is needed the futon is ripped and janky, the mattress box spring has stains, the outlets don’t work and need to be replaced. The heating doesn’t work that well we froze.
- David (1/5): Stayed less than an hour. - NA Hi Melvin,
Thank you for your response.
I don't know if you aware that we only in #1 cottage for an hour or less. The circuit breaker for the kitchen and living room popped and wouldn't switch back on. It was cold, dark and rainy outside. We left and went home. I had been texting with someone about it as well as on the phone with two reps at Vacasa. We were out by 5:30pm. The texts and the rep assured me we would receive a refund. Now I am told a refund has not "been approved". I had not left a review until today hoping things would work out (refund). David
- Lu (7/5): Didn't like...... - I like the location the most! Place is cozy and clean. I didn't like the futon bed. My 2 friends slept in bed, and I slept at the futon bed in the living room. That futon bed has to go. It was squeaky every time I moved, and I woke up with a sore back! So, I was not happy!
It would have been nice if we had body wash - it was a conditioner and 2 shampoos! Why 2 shampoos and no body wash?
It would have been nice, too, if there were a couple of teas, not just coffee.
- Ian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julia (10/5): We spent a really lovely couple of days there. The check in and out was really smooth. - Lovely property very close to the beach The property sends a lot of messages/reminders which could really be one/two texts or simply a summary email. I was constantly bombarded with texts etc which was a little off. But nothing against the stay itself, it was very pleasant.
- Paige (10/5): Cozy place to stay - We could walk to downtown in about 15 minutes. The place was very clean, you could eat off the floors! Beds very comfortable and high end sheets.
- Rose (6/5): Pleasant - the location was excellent. It was quiet and had easy access to the village and beach. the sofa bed was not what we expected. The picture showed a day bed with a trundle not a sofa bed. The real problem was the split cover that creeked when the sleeper moved throughout the nights. The very least that was required was a pad or blanket to put under the sheet. The sofa bed needs to be recovered or replaced.
- Steven (2/5): Very poor -
- Anna (8/5): Very good - Tiny cottage with a warm style, with everything you may need for a couple of days. The Cannon Beach is 3-5 minutes away, and the whole village is beautiful. The wifi is very unreliable. There are not enough parking spaces for all the cottages in front of the property if everyone is there.
- Bortz (8/5): If you are looking for luxury accommodations, this is not for you. - Great price and good location. Rather small but offset by price and location
- Verne (4/5): Anniversary trip gone bad! - Location No closet. No luggage rack. Tiny bathroom. No tub. Laminate floor falling apart. Area rug was stained and coming apart. Base boards were dirty. Bedford around bathroom sink was damaged by water and sink not caulked. Futon was sitting on a wooden box with springs poking you. No beach towels or lawn chairs that we have had at other Cannon Beach properties. Cabinet doors on kitchen sink were peeling. Basically the whole place needed an overhaul and refreshing with chipped paint on all wood work.
- Doris (8/5): Very good -
- Bonnell (8/5): overall great - Thought it odd that there was no AC and the bed room window was briken and wouldn't open.
- Chrisman (2/5): Very poor - Place to sleep. TV didn't work. Place was dirty. We were pretty sure the towels were not clean.
- Emily (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joseph (9/5): The Garden Cottage #3 - It was wonderful having the privacy of my own cottage. The place was comfy, cozy, and clean. It was peaceful and quiet. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you could need. Also, it was nice having a beautiful outdoor space to view. I would definitely stay there in the future. The cottage could use some touching up. Also the bathroom is pretty small so only one person can really use it at a time.
- Carrie (4/5): Don't stay here - there are much nicer places to stay in Cannon Beach that have comfortable beds. - The location was the only good thing about this property. We walked down to the beach and could explore the whole town. The cottage was run down and disappointing. It advertised 1 queen bed and 1 double futon bed. The queen bed was fine, but the futon was so hard and uncomfortable that my friend had to sleep on the arm chair with a kitchen chair to put her feet/legs on because it wasn't long enough. Large patches of wallpaper were torn off the walls, lots of paint scratched off the walls, a tiny bathroom with not enough room to even dry yourself off. The kitchen wasn't equipped properly (no metal tray to cook food in the toaster oven), dirty curtains hanging down onto the kitchen counter, etc. Normally when I stay in a cottage elsewhere there is coffee and tea provided - here only the paper filters were provided so we had to purchase coffee for our stay. I would never book this property again - it felt truly like a rip-off and I would like to ask for our money to be refunded.
- Coleman (3/5): Poor -
- Carla (7/5): It was ok. The cottage is too cold during this time of year. Took about 2 hours to warm it up. - The bed was comfortable. Electronic key entry did not work, and we were on hold for nearly 1/2 hour just for someone to answer the phone. Then we had to try ways to get the door open for another 20 minutes while it was pouring rain. We had to use the bathroom so we had to find public facilities while we waiting for a resolution. Never offered anything like a refund, or a discount or even an extra hour the next day for checkout.
- Melissa (7/5): Rustic but Comfy, noisy but neighbors were pleasant - Cute facilities, comfy, everything provided Noisy neighbors, long way from the beach, rustic tiny bathroom
- Janine (1/5): Bad -
- Larysa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Daniel (7/5): Perfect if your not looking for perfection. - Comfortable bed, private. Great hot shower. Plenty of towels and dishes etc. Laminate floor desperately needs replacement or maybe a nice big throw rug so your not tripping over the decapitated flooring..
Toilet paper and paper towels felt very cheap. If I was managing I would spend a little extra on the small things.
- Wall (8/5): Very good -
- Sydney (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (8/5): Good location and decent place. -
- Jeanne (3/5): Poor -
- Roberta (7/5): Nice place and location, but needs deep cleaning and newcarpety - Need new carpet. Dirty and smells
- Laurie (5/5): Good location and size, but bad due to pet odor. - Good size and room layout. Pet smell. I do not have pets and hesitated to reserve this space as they allow pets. I would not stay here again because of the pet smell.
- Rachel (8/5): Very good -
- Maureen (7/5): Good -
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good -
- Nicole (8/5): Honestly for the price, this was a great stay. A bit tight with the 4 of us. But on a budget, this was perfect!!! - Closeness, we were a block and half away. Which was absolutely perfect. Could’ve used more towels, barbecue also needed fixing to get started. Patio is a bit ghetto. But the cottage serves its purpose.
- Kdhaynes (7/5): Lovely little place #3 faces east. Morning sun on pond, birds to enjoy. - Coffee good. Minimal supplies. Would have enjoyed taking coffee out in cup. Cleaner walls in bathroom. Floor had leaks at base of shower until rot set in. Simple carpentry repair needed. Lent a feeling of less clean
- Tighe (5/5): Good looking unit, very quiet, good location, but the bedding problem soured me. - There was no bedding in the room for the sleeper sofa. I had to call numerous times to get it delivered (spent well over 30 minutes on hold) and when it was dropped off, it was only sheets. No blankets. Come on!
- Pat (6/5): Pleasant - Number of emails sent by company. As we were hiring a car I did not have registration when it was first requested. Door lock was temperamental microwave was placed too high for safety
- Patricia (6/5): We tried to keep accommodation cost down, and this was a good choice for that. - The location is great for walking to the beach, art gallery/cafe, Cannon Beach hotel has a great bistro.
That was really good. I loved the frogs croaking in the outside pond! The cottages are very cute to look at!
Our #2 cottage was clean The cottage was well-equipped with microwave, toaster oven, fridge, cutlery,
dishes, etc. We found the accommodation a bit cold. The settee in the living area was very hard, lumpy and uncomfortable.
There really wasn't much space to put our suitcases, even our small bags.
The area carpet needed shampooing. A door mat would have been good to step onto from outside, especially since we were asked to take our shoes off at the door.
- Lisa (9/5): Superb -
- Natasha (9/5): A wonderful & peaceful hide away, two short blocks from the sand and surf. - loved the individual cottage! Not sharing walls or having an upstairs or downstairs really accommodates the solo peace adventure I was seeking! The water feature was nice. Parking was close, all the windows closed and locked, I felt secure. There was everything needed to enjoy a night in! Just need that keyhole to work a little better.
- Erick (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nickerson (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robert (3/5): We were so disappointed with the cottage we just stayed one of our two nights. - Not much. Needs new furniture and renovations.
- Mason (9/5): Superb -
- Amanda (6/5): amazing location to beach and town -
- Hiromi (10/5): Exceptional - Nice and cozy Left cleaning supply in/outside.
Fan was dusty
- Victoria (9/5): Superb - Loved how close it was to haystack rock, local food, less than 15 min drive to local hikes. Used it just to crash after sightseeing northern Oregon coast. Cozy compact beach cabin describes it well. There were 2 giant carpet stains in the common room and the 2 square glass baking dishes were dirty which was unfortunate because I was planning to make some Mac and cheese.
