• Kathryn (10/5): A relaxing comfort stop with a spectacular view, after a challenging drive from Strahan via Corrina to Arthur River. - The views & walks around the estuary were exceptional. We lit the wood stove & lounged out in the annex with a glass of red & admired the vista spread before us. Your property has ever convenience we needed ‘ the spa before bed was to die for. The icing on the cake was your kind offer Michael, to help us out with housing Nevaeh, my dog, while we went on the Arthur River Cruise. I’m in Tassie until late December & hope to return for a longer stay. Absolutely nothing

• Michael (10/5): Everyone enjoyed the house and the location, as no one had ever been. - All great, enjoyed the outside fire area. The view was just amazing. Great that the dogs could come. The kitchen was a little tricky with 5.
• Ellie (6/5): Nice location and views but could use a refresh - The view and location was stunning and the outdoor fireplace. We spent so much out our time out here. The place felt very tired and did not seem clean. It felt like only a light clean had been done for a very long time. The spa was also very dirty after we put the cleaning agent through so I did not use it again. While an indoor fireplace is nice it did mean the place smelt of smoke. Also the price for two people did not seem worth it but better value if you used all the rooms.

Owners were very helpful with check-in and communication even recommending the perfect place for dinner. It’s a little aged but then it is described as a cottage. Possibly a bit overpriced for a single/couple as you are renting the entire house, but for a family or if sharing with another family it would be very affordable and has everything you need.

Only issue we had was a power blackout which lasted from 7pm to after checkout time the next day (this has nothing to do with the host or property, just bad luck) so it’s a bit tough to give a full and accurate rating.

• Julie (8/5): Perfect secluded location with outstanding views. - The location was excellent. Very much appreciated the resident sea eagles, green rosellas, currawongs and native hens. The open fire made the accommodation warm and homely. Ample wood and kindling was provided and fire set. Electric wall heaters were efficient. Loved the view of river, surf and beach from the living area We used the outdoor area for a couple of hours when we arrived and it was lovely. While the bedroom and bathroom of the master suite were lovely our traveling companions were unable to use their allocated bathroom at night because the lighting didn’t work. Also, the television in their bedroom did not work and this was a bother to them because they retire early. Two out of the three TVs worked well! Furniture in the living area was very comfortable.

• Shona (9/5): Amazing stay at the Arthur River Spa - The location was amazing, shown true to the pictures. Communication was outstanding. This is perfect for dog owners and has extensive instructions on everything to help out. They have a full kitchen of utensils that is great for light travellers. Reasonably secluded from neighbours. Make sure that you bring what food you need before leaving Smithton. It's a long drive back but the Marrawah bar is only a short drive away. Short walk to the bridge, Parking is large, room for your campavan, several cars, jetski and boat. There was nothing to report. The owners had thought of everything. The price is a little steep,but when spread out over 7 people, it was worth it.

• Samantha (7/5): You’re paying for the view, not the accommodation - The view is absolutely spectacular. The cottage was very dirty. There was not a hot tub as stated in the cottage bio, however the fire pit was lovely! The ammenities are extremely basic and quite outdated.

• Rachel (8/5): Great views, do the river cruise - Superb location for this cottage overlooking the Arthur River and river mouth. Lovely sunsets. Cottage is well kitted out, lots of lounge space, modern bathroom. Washer and dryer handy. Kitchen is a little older. Also, this town is a 4wd / atv Mecca. They are all over the beach and lots of tracks in the area. If that’s not your thing, there might not be much here for you apart from the excellent Arthur River cruise ( must do).
• Smith (8/5): Absolutely beautiful location, this cottage has everything you need to enjoy the Arthur River. - Superb location right on the Arthur River, with views over the estuary. Especially liked the abundant, delightful and amusing birdlike. Accommodation was basic but had everything we needed. Nothing the host could do much about, but the flies were a real pest.

We loved it. The hosts communications were spot on. We had a family of birds - Mum Dad & chicks - that came to say hello in the morning. Some of the kitchen utilities were fairly worn didn’t look very appealing, didn’t seam that clean in some areas as we went to use the room DVD lots of dust present.

The fires both indoor and outdoor were fantastic and warmed us beautifully. Beautiful river views also. A smart tv would be good so we could access a variety of shows. I’m not sure the spa in the bedroom is very useful. An outdoor spa would be better utilised by a group but the upkeep may be an issue.

• Charles (6/5): Great location and views, but the owner needs to address all the junk around the kitchen. - The owner of the cottage is a hoarder and just can't bear to throw anything away and consequently the kitchen is full of rubbish like what you would get from a garage sale. 4 electric frypans on top of a cupboard, frypan and saucepans under the sink and i chose one of the fry pans to cook breakfast. When I turned over the 5 pieces of bacon they were covered with material that came away from the frypan. ALSO, no where to put your cases except on the floor and no cupboards

It was a great place to explore the West Coast. We drove to the Edge of the World is only a five-minute drive away, and seeing the vast sea is very shocking.

• Katrina (10/5): Relaxing and extremely potogenic - Great location. Simple, not fancy, practical but verything u need is there in the house. Really well stocked with all your kitchen needs and every possible issue was accounted for right down to a wind shield around the bbq. Lots of heating options and wood for the fireplace
• Jane (9/5): Superb - Fantastic location , very comfortable, everything you needed for a comfortable stay was supplied, and the views were beautiful. The bathroom was nice and clean and the spa bath was lovely. We liked the easy check in and great communication from the property owners. Some areas of the kitchen were not very clean, eg the outside of the kettle was quite greasy and looked dirty as did some of the cooking equipment, and the pantry cupboards and around the cooking area. However, overall, we thought the property offered fantastic value for money, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
• Tracy (7/5): A convenient stay with great views and location. - We loved the views across Arthur River and looking out to the ocean and river meeting. The location was excellent to the main tour attractions; Edge of the World, Arthur River Cruises & the coastal section of the Tarkine Drive. I would recommend some hooks and luggage stands in the bedrooms as there was no where to put clothes after unpacking only on the bed, floor or side of spa in main bedroom. While it is obviously a family get away property, the overall level of cleanliness of the place, appliances and fixtures needs to be improved, or items replaced. (Eg. kettle in the kitchen). The linen and towels were lovely and clean.
• Avia (8/5): Very good - Amazing view of Arthur River and the ocean, we loved sitting on the deck looking out at sunset. The biggest bed we’ve ever slept in & a lovely big bathroom. Fantastic spot on our West Coast road trip, thank you!
• Hilary (7/5): Great location & well equipped comfortable holiday home. - Well equipped holiday home. Loved the view & undercover outdoor fireplace so much we never used the inside lounge area at all. Comfortable bed. We really enjoyed our stay. Nothing. My only suggestion is that it would be nice to have a chair, hanging rail &/or luggage rack in the bedroom as there’s nowhere to put clothes & luggage other than on the floor. The same in the bathroom, perhaps a stool & some extra hooks or towel rail.

Loved the fireplace outside with the incredible view!! It was great to have a laundry to catch up on washing! Beautiful location and place to stay when exploring the area.
