Guest Reviews
- Allan (8/5): Peaceful location with fabulous sunset views. Take the dogs! - The quiet location just opposite the track to the jetty and the stony beach is wonderful for a rest. It is a short drive to the Murdunna store, which sells great takeaway food with friendly staff. It's an even shorter drive to the sandy, sheltered Sommers Bay Beach. We have stayed once before, with our grandchildren, several years ago, and it's still good. We love to take our 2 dogs with us, and they also had a good time! It would have been good to have a heater in the bathroom.
- Louise (10/5): -
- Margaret (10/5): Great location and inviting house - Kitchen great views great
- Meagan (7/5): - It was a bit too far away from Eagle Hawk Nest however if you’re after a quiet few days away it’s perfect
- Louise (10/5): -
- Alvin (9/5): Excellent beach house wish we could have stayed longer - Comfy deck to watch sunset . leather recliner chairs great location Not much
- Lee (10/5): - Great quiet location, well appointed home. Lovely views
- Alister (9/5): - Location, cleanliness, facilities all great. The bathroom latch was not closing but when fixed place will be perfect for a getaway
- Alison (9/5): - Great location. all good
- Frank (8/5): Very happy, fit for purpose. - N/A
- trevor (8/5): Good location - Facilities were very good. Typical for a beach house. Third bedroom with bunks very cramped.
- Louise (10/5): Worth every penny - The property is in a great location with lovely views.
The hosts were friendly and helpful with any requests. The house is spotlessly clean and tidy. Well stocked for every occasion, you wont need to bring anything but your clothes and something to eat. Would love to have stayed longer but unfortunately was fully booked :( Absolutely nothing, was perfect
- Andreas (9/5): -
- Kaiser (9/5): -
- Stephen (9/5): Awesome Spot excellent Hosts -
- Glen (6/5): - Where it was is just beautiful. I appreciate the price we paid but if you want people to be mindful of water usage then I think you definitely need to change the tap washes in the kitchen. The dryer was overheating but found out that the lint filter was full.
- Amanda (10/5): - How the owner thought of absolutely everything. Amazing
- Jelly (10/5): Very cosy and comfortable home away from home!: - Kitchen was well provided with sufficient kitchen appliances and crockery for cooking meals. The balcony with view and chairs! The loungeroom, kitchen table and chairs. Very homely and comfortable! There was a bit of a smell in bathroom maybe caused by insufficient ventilation!
- Valerie (8/5): A very nice spot to relax and enjoy the view of the bay - We only stayed one night, but appreciated the home. It was quiet, spacious and a very nice location and view. Nothing in particular. All was good
- Phil (8/5): -
- Renee (8/5): Beautiful spot to stop for the day and prepare dinner for our large family of 7. - Amazing view. Easy access to Jetty. Balcony awesome to sit and relax on. Great kitchen set up. Teenagers loved the DVDs. Main bed very comfy. The positives outweighed the small things we didnt like. Dryer was tempermental and only discovered after i did a load of washing. Main bedroom is on the small side and not a lot of space for ypur suitcase if its only a quick stop. Would be ok if you stayed a while and used drawers.
- Barbara (8/5): - Stunning location Phone reception kept dropping out.
- Rudolf (8/5): Done the Three Capes Walk. Needed a bigger accommodation for the six of us. - Nice and quiet location with great view. All good.
- Jaclyn (9/5): -
- Michael (8/5): - The house was everything we needed for a one night stay - clean; warm in the cool Tasmanian October weather; beds were comfy; well accessorised.
- wilson (9/5): -
- Leah (10/5): Perfect!! - Beautiful location for a break away from hustle and bustle. The beach house was even better than the pics reviewed when booking. Nice comfortable beds. We did buy take away food but once we got there and seen how well equipped the kitchen was were annoyed we didn't bring along food to cook instead. Great little place and very friendly neighbours in the area. Would definitely recommend and wouldn't hesitate to stay again. This is not really a didn't like but there was no light at the front on the house we didn't have a torch but could hear and only just see wildlife when it got dark. Torch next time so we can see what is jumping about in the dark.
- Md Ruhul (8/5): Medium - Facility was good Some of pictures that showed me on advertisement of the property is not same. I mean some of the sea view pictures took from other places.
- Jill (8/5): Great location and comfortable bach. - Location and the house lived lived up our expectations as a bach. Squeaky springs one of the single beds. Both single beds could have been more comfortable.
The queen bed was comfortable.

- Calvin (9/5): Superb -
- Frances (9/5): A lovely self contained house - enjoyable short stay. - It was a lovely, peaceful little bay. The house is well equipped with everything we needed for a 2 night stay. It is quite a drive to get there.
- Julia (10/5): Tranquil paradise - Sommer’s bay is a piece of paradise for the locals. A little drive to get here but then you chill and soak up the bay. Beautiful views from the veranda, short walk to the bay and jetty. Magical Purchase food before heading here as you don’t want to leave.
- Scott (6/5): Lovely location, simple cottage, 'a little rough around the edges' - Simple cottage overlooking the picturesque bay. Very quiet with lots of wildlife! We couldn't get the dryer to work, and there was no iron and ironing board. It was a cold night, and it had summer bedding with no doonas in two out of the three bedrooms. I think this would better suit a blokey fishing trip.
- Jo-an (10/5): Cosy house - Plenty of room
Very clean
Kitchen well stocked with utensils if u needed to prepare food
Nice view
- Lucylle (9/5): Everything we needed. Clean and comfortable and a beautiful location. - There was a musty smell in the laundry.

- Shuzhen (7/5): Good -
- Ethan (7/5): Good -
- Sharon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robynne (6/5): Pleasant - Location & quietness Filthy kitchen (oil dripping from range hood, dirt around kitchen tiles)
- Amanda (9/5): Superb -
- Jo (9/5): We would happily stay again if we visit Tassie - Cosy, comfy, great views, hot shower and great kitchen facilities
- Jessica (10/5): Relaxing family escape. - Well equipped kitchen. Three bedrooms with comfy beds all well stocked with blankets. Deck had a gorgeous sunset view. The little walk to the pier was paradise. Plenty of wildlife to spot. Further away from attractions than we expected (you have to drive back north through Murdana to get to southern attractions) - but that lack of planning was our own fault.
- Allan (8/5): Very good -
- Timothy (9/5): thanks - location, peace and quiet, suitable for our family group of 7 it's a long way down the road...
- Yatthra (10/5): Awesome place - Great communication Great communication
- Lisa (10/5): Beautiful house in great location, great view, hosts friendly and helpful, great price - Host was super helpful with touristy spots for us to visit, fantastic customer service I have no complaints about my stay
- Keng (6/5): Ok for 1 night stay. Hosts were helpful and responsive. If the house was better maintained will be excellent. - Michael and Grace were responsive and helpful. Only 1 toilet. Also can have better maintenance.
- Williams (7/5): Good -
- Eliseo (9/5): Superb -
- Debra (8/5): Very good -
- Leon (10/5): You will not be Dissappointed come and see for yourself. - It’s so nice to find a property that is dog friendly. My little 13 yr old boy goes everywhere with us. He has his own bed on the floor and sleeps beside me. Also when you work long hours you just need a break from it all. Sommers Bay Beach House ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️is the place to be.! There was nothing to dislike about it.
- Betty (9/5): Would highly recommend this accommodation because it is clean, comfortable and value for money. - Very roomy, great position near the water and easy to get to. Nil
- Linda (7/5): Perfect for short stay with amazing view - The beautiful balcony with a stunning view as well as the thoughtful provisions. Shower cubicle was a bit claustrophobic & pillows were hard but very minor details and only mentioned for the sake of finding something - an enjoyable stay none the less!
- Melissa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Diane (8/5): Lovely short stay exploring a beautiful part of Tasmania - Peaceful location with a lovely view across the bay.
Close to explore Port Arthur and the Tasman Peninsula. Very firm bed
- Vanessa (8/5): Quiet locatio but a bit off the beaten track. -
- Leah (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (9/5): Great location. House clean and everything provided for a pleasant stay. -
- Mrs (8/5): Biker friendly - The home feel, the coffee, tea etc available. Air-conditioning. Wifi availability The bedrooms were stuffy, they need fans.
- Lynne (9/5): Lovely location - We love the location of the beach house stunning area .the house itself is nice and well equipped.Lovely walks around the are and to the beach . The down side was it’s surface clean but more attention to detail in clean8ng needs to be taken .The cultry draws are not clean this should be cleaned each time someone leaves .Also behind the jug and the toaster is not clean .The skirting boars are dusty eg behind bathroom door .Also the fan in the bathroom hasn’t been cleaned in along time ,so we didn’t turn it on .
I did take photo of this all but haven’t posted them as I hope the owners take it all on board .
- Gabrielle (8/5): Tucked away with nature and wildlife. - After a big day at Port Arthur the balcony was lovely to relax on with cool bay breezes. The morning stroll along Flinders Creek walking track (just up the road a little) was a great way to start the day. The corner store and servo made a for a nice quick breakfast with pretty good coffee and the honey shop right nearby was a bonus! The queen room was a little dusty and the piece of furniture at the end of the bed made it hard to move about in the dark if you weren’t careful.
- Maureen (7/5): Good - Peace and quiet. Comfortable lounge furniture. Plenty of kitchen crockery, glasses, etc and basic cooking requirements but not necessarily the latest electrical items. This suited us well. No fly screens on the external doors so we couldn't leave them open to increase ventilation. The shower door is almost impossible to close from within the shower stall. The description says wheelchair accessible but there were steps at all entrances and the shower would be impossible for anyone with limited mobility.
- Natthawadee (9/5): Superb -
- Jin (7/5): A good economical place for visiting Port Arthur and the Tasman National Park -
- Claire (9/5): Superb -
- Quirke (9/5): Enjoyable - Beautiful view Door to bedroom stuck.
- Purcell (10/5): a great little beach shack in a tucked away location that is very tranquil and beautiful -
