Guest Reviews
- John (9/5): Excellent stay , met all our needs - Excellent location and very cosy environment N/a
- Michelle (9/5): Smithton bnb - Lovely comfortable home. Heating was on for us when we got there. Communication fabulous. Just a couple of kitchen appliances didn't unfortunately work, but easily overlooked.
- SHINGMEI (8/5): - 房屋內瀰漫前位住客使用廚房後的油煙味,希望在做飯時,抽油煙機的效果可以更加強,因為做完飯後,屋內一直都是油煙味。
- carmen (9/5): - Large house with plenty of beds
- Danielle (7/5): - Comfortable. Roomy for 3 adults staying. Location is not great but it was as presented.
- Janet (7/5): Overall we enjoyed our stay. - Spaciousness was a bonus for a 4 night stay. Appreciated the 2 bathrooms, the washing machine and clothes line. Kitchen was well stocked. Good location for the town’s shops etc. The cottage is a bit tired. Decor old fashioned. One of the beds was lumpy. Location in industrial area was unexpected.
- Rohani (9/5): Great comfortable stay walking distance to shops - Comfortable, relaxed stay, spacious house and rooms, well equipped with everything needed Trucks pulling up out the front early hours of the morning.
- Margaret (8/5): - Position, so comfortable
- Jenny (9/5): - Very comfortable everything you needed great to get Washing done, had read others reviews about noise from nearby factory we didn't hear anything from these they never bothered us had a great night's sleep Nothing
- Maharjan (8/5): Very good related to Price value - Accessories of bathroom and kitchen very thoughtful 😀 Decorations and utensils
- Steve Bristow (8/5): great for travelling couples with 2 bathrooms. - N/A It reminded me of a grandparents house could do with an update. a dishwasher would nice
- Barbara (8/5): Unexpectedly comfortable. - Very spacious and well appointed. TV was good. Hot water in showers very difficult to regulate. Main shower needs a deep clean & a new shower head.
- Robyn (8/5): Grace's Spa Cottage was very comfy. - We provided our own breakfast but the kitchen was well stock to do your own catering. There's not a lot to see in Smithton, we did go to the Robotic Dairy which was very interesting. And it's only about 15 minutes to Stanley to visit The Nut. We found Smithton a great place to base ourselves and do our Tarkine Forest Drive and to the Edge of the World, and it wasn't as expensive as Stanley. When we first got there we were a bit concerned that it looked like an industrial area, but it turned out okay as it was very quiet, 5 minutes drive from the shops and a cafe just around the corner.
- Geraldine (10/5): -
- Samantha (9/5): Comfortable and cozy. Great location, short walk to the beach. - Beautiful building, room and garden. The room was so comfortable. Not applicable, everything was excellent.
- John (10/5): Highly recommend - Well presented with lots of character. Very clean and tidy and right in town. Good value
- Allan (10/5): -
- Clive (10/5): -
- ANTHONY (10/5): -
- Young (8/5): - Bbq very rusty. Probably need to replace it.
- Karen (8/5): -
- Samuel (10/5): -
- Claire (10/5): Extremely comfortable, with everything provided beyond expectations - It was a home away from home, with everything provided, and so comfortable Nothing
- Verdune (9/5): Highly recommended - Except that it has no dishwasher, it is the most comprehensively equipped holiday accommodation I have ever experienced! No dishwasher and, being in a semi industrial area, there was some hoon noise early in the evening.
- TERRENCE (8/5): Very enjoyable. Particularly loved the wildlife at EagleHawk - the kitchen was very well equipped in smithton as well as EagleHawk Neck. However at EagleHawk it was not easy to know where to get supplies, could have benefitted from a small handbook on the location of supermarkets etc
- Cara (10/5): Clean and comfortable old style home with everything you need - Big and comfortable old style house with great facilities. Short walk to food and supermarket and we appreciated the off street parking. It was clean and the washer and dryer worked great. The house is in an industrial area so it was great for over Christmas because there were no neighbours and no one working, but perhaps a consideration on regular weekdays? Not sure. The room with the three beds is inside the front door but before the door into the main house so a lot of light gets in and there’s a bit of a draught, but the heater was excellent and a pillow/towel fort was easy enough to make if you aren’t using them all. We had a great stay.
- Kelly (10/5): - An amazing stay- comfy with absolutely everything you could need. The spa bath after long days out in nature was so ply heavenly.
If you want to eat in, the kitchen is fully equipped and there is a Woolworths a few hundred metres away.
Highly recommend visiting Godfrey's beach at dusk which is just 20 mins away in Stanley. Watching the penguins come in after a day at sea was magical! N/a.
- Marilyn (9/5): - The cottage was cozy and homely. Well stocked with everything you could need. It was older but well maintained.
- Erika (5/5): -
- Rhonda (9/5): Comfortable stay - It was a large clean house with three bedrooms. We could choose which bedroom to use; we chose the one adjacent to the lounge room so that it would be warmed by the lounge room heater. Massive selection of kitchen equipment was available. Generous coffee/tea supply, cleaning supplies and tissues. I appreciated the supply of washing detergent. The lounge room was comfortable. The bed was a little lumpy so a little uncomfortable. The supply of just 200ml milk for two people staying for two nights was disappointing. I had to clean lint out of the washing machine and dryer filters before using them.
- Joanne (10/5): - So much space for people, up to 8. Comfortable and everything you need.
- Steve (8/5): - Host was fab. Allowed us to check in early as weather was dreadful and the place was toasty warm Key was under mat which is not particularly secure. Might want to consider a lock box to protect themselves.
- Graeme (9/5): -
- Jason (10/5): Lovely quiet cozy central well kept spacious cottage - I personally love the spa and the organisation of very well cute clean spacious cottage and prime location. Have staid before and will be back Nil
- Masamoto15 (10/5): -
- Wayne (8/5): Suited our purpose perfectly for four adults and two young children (4 and 2). - Comfortable stay and had everything we needed. Great communication with owners. Nothing.
- Debra (8/5): - Separate large bedrooms.
2 bathrooms
Well stocked kitchen
Undercover parking
- Paula Micaela (8/5): Comfortable, quiet and ideal for big group of people. - Very good location and very well equipped with kitchen utensils and various cooking options. The internet didn't work properly.
- Nigel (10/5): Great position, v ery comfortable house - Very central location. Well provisioned house with all amenities
- Alicia (9/5): -
- Susan (10/5): Great roomy cottage to stay in - Place was roomy and comfortable. Great being able to relax in the recliners at the end of the day. One of the single recliners did not recliners. Great having 2 bathrooms. Also had a yummy meal at the local pub. Host was welcoming
- Rosemary (9/5): Plenty of accommodation and comfort - Very well equiped, full size kitchen. Very big house for 2 people, lovely comfy couch and great dining table. Heritage feeling but modern heating, cooling, plenty of hot water. Road was little noisey
- Bastien (8/5): -
- Bruce and Donna (9/5): -
- Bruce and Donna (9/5): -
- Marian (8/5): Everything you need for a short stay, good location to centre of town - For 2 people it’s a large 3 bedroom property
Very comfortable and fully equipped
- Katrina (8/5): Very good -
- Tudor (10/5): Just a great roomy house with all the facilities you need. - Great location very clean and well fitted out everything you need for a long or short stay. Good size rooms. Nothing
- Marianne (9/5): Superb -
- Dawson (10/5): A quick overnight stay on the way to explore the Tarkine. The host was helpful with access to the property. It was very - Perfect location. Nothing
- Robert (8/5): Very good -
- Chris (8/5): Very good -
- J (9/5): Escape to the Edge Of The World - Enough room for a family of four. Plenty of plates, cups, glasses & cooking utensils. Heater worked well and was quiet. Washing machine was clean & didn't put fluff all over our clothes.
Good location to enable us to walk to supermarket, bakery, coffee & breakfast.
Also well located to complete the Tarkine Drive. Additional towel rails would be beneficial. Rails allow the towels to dry between use. No biggie, just an observation & preference.
- Rashmini (7/5): Overall a nice stay - Well maintained Location
- Lori (9/5): Delightful cottage in small friendly town - Lovely quaint cottage. Well equipped, comfy and cosy. Plenty of room and bathrooms well stocked.
Lori
- Anne (4/5): Average buy a new mattress - Bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable
- Ron (9/5): Lovely stay with lots of room and facilities in central Smithton. - Lots of room in old house, nicely refurbished and exceptionally well equipped. Quiet despite some local industry. Location central in Smithton but within an “industrial” part of town (lots of potato trucks).
- Michelle (10/5): Great location, clean and well stocked - Spacious and clean
Great location
Cozy and comfortable
- Mandy (5/5): This property was not what we expected due to the outside photos used and bad condition it was in. - The kitchen was very well equipped for cooking and the interior very nice...the cottage feel that we wanted. The photos of the outside of the cottage on Booking.com was very misleading. The garden was in need of care and the beautiful big tree out the front was a huge hole in the ground. Three of the five uprights on the front porch that support the roof were rotted out and not attached at all. The front fence and gate were broken in parts, in need of repair and painting. The area is not residential but business/commercial and we actually felt uneasy a few times, especially at night.
Inside the cottage was nice and provided everything but I feel the outside and location makes it a disappointing choice.
- Yvonne (10/5): A lovely experience, just like a home away from home with special efforts to satisfy guests - Spacious, charmingly restored, everything you could think of was provided so it felt just like home, caring, thoughtful attention to detail, loved the spa, very clean The mattresses were not as comfortable as hoped but we still slept well.
- Robert (9/5): Superb - Nice, comfortable house with character. Perhaps location in a semi industrial area but close to Woolworths.
- Fiona (9/5): Beautiful comfy, well appointed house, felt like home. Great communication from host. - Beautiful comfy well appointed house Smell from factory across the road
- Gaylene (8/5): Very good - Location was good and had everything we needed, including 2 bathrooms. We stayed overnight and left reasonably early N/A
- Vicki (8/5): Comfortable and Clean - would stay again! - This home had everything you need for a comfortable stay! Was very clean and close to everywhere we wanted to visit! Having 2 bathrooms was excellent!
- Carter (9/5): Superb - Perfectly positioned, clean, comfortable and cosy. There wasn't anything to dislike.
- Evelyn (7/5): Lovely quaint cottage in centre of town. - Well equipped, lovely little cottage. Needs a deep clean.
- Ebony (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gabi (7/5): Good -
- Janyaporn (9/5): Superb -
- Malcolm (8/5): Neat and tidy house with plenty of beds - Great house on the inside, had everything you needed. Opposite a factory, workers coming and going all night. Microwave needs replacing, very old and has a Smoke smell about it.
- Sara (8/5): - A nice spacious, well equipped house. Surrounded by commercial property but close to the supermarket and a great base for day tripping around the Tarkine Valley.
- Anna (10/5): Home away from home - Very comfy and homely with everything we needed for our 1 night stay. Close to woolies and even though looks like it might be a noise spot being in a industrial spot was nice and quiet
- Hugh (9/5): Excellent, comfortable accomodation. - Two bathrooms, including a spa. Firm, supportive beds.
- Dean (8/5): Very good -
- Jackie (8/5): Very good -
- John (9/5): Centrally located in Smithton - Centrally located and an easy walk to the shops.
Is well stocked for everything you need - there appears to be a dog enclosure in the back yard.
Your host keeps you updated about how to get the key, so don’t worry. The property is in need of a lot of repair and at one stage a fuse tripped out but that could be fixed easily.
- Justin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tessa (9/5): Superb -
- Colin (8/5): Very good - Handy, heaps of room, surprisingly quiet location
- Norrie (9/5): Comfortable and well-equipped - just like home - Very well equipped with beds, kitchen, glassware etc in abundance. Quiet location. The house is set in a retail/sport/industrial precinct, but we got used to it and the road is surprisingly quiet.
