- Sharron (10/5): Cosy little hotel - The room was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Not too far to walk to the town hall where we were watching a show. The service we received was great but the breakfast was disappointing.

We were above the bar but didn't really hear any noise. (The bar closed 10pm at the latest) Road works had just started on the street but as we were out during the day it didn't affect us. Always managed to get a parking slot on the street. If we were to suggest improvements it would be to have a couple of shelves in the bathroom and a light above the bathroom mirror. We would certainly recommend this lovely little pub. A BIG Thank you to all at The Railway.

- Adam (10/5): Skipton mini break - Good location for skipton centre, canal towpath at the end of the street. We enjoyed a drink in the bar, all the staff were very friendly especially the breakfast chef.

- Marian (10/5): - This is a hidden gem.Nor right in the centre of Skipton but only a few minutes walk.Lovly welcome on arrival.Quick and efficient check-in.Very secure accomodation as you needed a key to enter in the evenings A lovely lady took us to the room.Absolutley spotless.Tea and coffee making facilities and nice biscuits!!One of the comfiest beds I've ever slept in and the cleanest most well ironed sheets I've ever seen.When we went down to breakfast we were greeted and offered tea or coffee. A nice continental selection and a menu to.orxer hot food.I had an omelette and my husband had the full English.Piping hot and fresh.So.much nicer than a big hotel where food is left out.If your staying in Skipton don't miss this little hidden gem.Very wellmanaged establishment .Lovely staff that management should be very proud of.Happy staff happy team.

- Caroline (10/5): Great time at the Railway - Hotel was small and compact. Everything about it was great. The breakfast chef made the effort to get to know our breakfast order and was able to remember this throughout our stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Bathroom was compact but contained everything we needed. The pub was lovely and welcoming.

Check in was smooth but little information given apart from access and breakfast between 8 & 9am which felt too early, especially as we were away for a relaxing trip. The room was basic and very dated. The bathroom was tatty but clean. The bedroom was very small and the bed incredibly uncomfortable where we could feel the springs. Checkout was 10am which we were not told about so we googled it and it said 11am, however we were called to say check out was actually 10am. Breakfast was mediocre and a long wait. We wouldn’t return but did enjoy Skipton.

- Jennifer (10/5): Family break away - Everything about our stay was perfect. We had a cot ready when we arrived for our little one. The room was warm and spacious. We ate dinner the night before and the steaks were wonderful. The staff are all so friendly and can't do enough to help. We had a delicious breakfast before we left too!
- Colin (8/5): Nice place but a bit tired - This is still a nice place to stay, however it's starting to look a little bit tired. The carpets could do with a really good clean and the window in our bedroom didn't shut properly which would have been okay in summer but it was very cold. Breakfast was very good and the bar is comfortable.

The breakfast option was good and was included in the price, which is not always the case. Having travelled to Skipton via public transport, the Railway is convenient for all modes of transport, so parking for us was not an issue. Highly recommended.
- Robin (6/5): Pleasant but not outstanding - The positives include cleanliness, a comfortable bed, good shower and hot water, location, storage of luggage when we arrived early. About our arrival...the phone number outside the building is useful as it doesn't open until 12.00 (pub hours, we were told), and of course, check-in was not until 2.00. However, it is fairly usual for places to have information about leaving luggage if no one is going to be there. We were grateful that Julie was and took care of this for us. Eventual check in was slow because the staff were attending to the bar as well, and we had to wait for this. We were helped with the luggage up a fairly narrow and steep staircase. The room met all our requirements, apart from no desk for using a laptop. However, there were two comfortable chairs, a bonus. Tea, coffee and biscuits were available. Breakfast was served in a pleasant room, and the cooked breakfast was generous. Some items were missing from the yoghurt/cereal offerings, with little fruit on the first day, and no fruit or yoghurt on the second. Housekeeping was a bit limited on the second day (bed not remade, no fresh towels). So, lovely staff, good room with comfortable bed, and great location. But I was disappointed after seeing the excellent reviews posted earlier on the site.
- Sarah (10/5): Would recommend and stay again - Really good location, room was a good size and clean, breakfast was lovely and they accommodated gluten and dairy free intolerances. Parking free on the street outside and enjoyed being so close to the canal for walks, which were lovely.

- Chris (10/5): A Great Place to Stay & Great Value for Money! - The Railway is situated on the outskirts of the Town Centre, but only a 5 minute walk away. The staff were very friendly & welcoming, the beer on tap was exceptional! The rooms, although small, were clean & comfortable; the breakfast provided, which is included in the price, was excellent. The only slight issue was the availability of parking; street parking is scarce, you just need to be lucky; however, there is a car park close by, which, if you park to the far right-hand side, provides a short walk to the property. The car park is chargeable, although not expensive, but is free between the hours of 18:00 to 09:00. Overall, a great place to stay & great value for money!

- Aileen (10/5): Comfortable room and friendly staff - I stayed at the Railway for two nights when in Skipton for a running event. The room was very comfortable and good value - full breakfast included was a bonus and I was able to have something light the morning of the run and the full breakfast the following day. The staff were all friendly and helpful. I didn’t eat there in the evenings but the menu looked good and it was busy both nights which is always a good sign. There is no parking but the car park up the road is really reasonable (£5.50 per day) so I just left the car there. I would definitely stay there again if back in Skipton.

The food, beer, atmosphere, and location all contributed to a very enjoyable stay.

We didn’t eat an evening meal there but the menu and food we saw served looked excellent . The breakfast was freshly cooked, delicious and plentiful , with several options.available . No parking but we managed to get an on the road space an I believe there is a long stay car park near by but I’m not sure how far away it is . The staff were all very helpful and friendly , and the room we stayed in was clean and comfortable . I wouldn’t hesitate in staying again or recommending it to friends/family

Breakfast starts early which is not just unusual, but is very helpful for people who have got a full day hiking or who need to catch early trains from Skipton. The breakfast is very good and has a very varied menu with plenty of choice. Evening meals are very good with a good varied menu and is very popular with guests, tourists and locals.

- Jason (8/5): - Stayed one night at the Railway which was in a heatwave so fairly humid conditions. Breakfast was good and Dave the chef very pleasant. To be noted there is no car park on site or off site so a lottery whether you can get parking near the accommodation which we were fortunate. We stayed on a Monday so the restaurant wasn't open so cannot say about the food but I get the impression it is very good.

- Xiangdong (10/5): Nice trip to Skipton - This is very nice and friendly hotel. Bed and bath are so comfortable. The landlady is very nice and treats guests as friends. The location is central of Skipton with ease access to castle woodland and famous canal walk.

- Malc (10/5): - Great location especially if traveling by train as the Railway pub is a short 5 minute walk from the station, very convenient for the town centre also with close access to the canal. The rooms were very clean, comfortable and although you are above a pub the insulation allows for a very peaceful stay. Very friendly staff and the bonus of excellent food, both at breakfast and in the restaurant for a lovely evening meal. All in all we had a brilliant 2 night stay here and can highly recommend the Railway for a short stay in Skipton.
- Jan (8/5): Great for a one night stop over - Room was excellent, bed was big but made of 2 singles and there was a bit of a gap in the middle so was not that comfortable. Nice shower room and amenities and 2 chairs so it was more that adequate. Just be aware that this pub has no car park and the specified free parking is roadside parking if you are lucky enough to find a space.

- Peter (10/5): Great little find - A fantastic find! Nice pub in a beautiful old mill town. I was a little apprehensive when booking because it was a pub near roads. However the room was so quiet and there was no noise either from the pub or the roads. Breakfast was delicious, freshly cooked by Dave, who showed typical northern hospitality. Such a welcomong place, would definitely stay again when in the area
