Guest Reviews
- Joanna (10/5): Perfect for our last minute mini getaway. - The room was lovely, very comfortable and so peaceful. Breakfast was superb. We were in the area to visit Southwold so the location was perfect. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Not applicable during our visit
- Emma (10/5): Exceptional. - From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome. The facilities were spotless and staff were exceptional and food was out of this world. We even had morris dancers practicing in the car park! Nothing!
- DENISE (9/5): - Easy parking. EV charging available. Comfortable accommodation. Clean linen. Very good breakfast selection. The evening meal was excellent.
- Mark (10/5): - Lovely pub, good food and beer and very comfy spacious accommodation. All the staff were very welcoming and attentive.

- Peter Craigie (9/5): Outstanding - Stayed here in 2022 and always wanted to return. I had a great size room, with tea, coffee, biscuits and water provided every day. Lovely fluffy white towels with shampoo and wash provided. The breakfast was outstanding with an extensive choice There was nothing to dislike
- Nick (10/5): - Location, staff, room Nothing

- Paul (8/5): Very convenient for beach walks - The room was serviced each day. And whoever cleaned it did a splendid job. Everything topped up and doggy treats placed out, but then you are paying £10 per dog per night. A lot when you have 2 dogs! Close to Southwold and Kessingland for lovely beach walks. Handy having the pub cum restaurant on your doorstep. Walls between the chalets are not sound proofed so you can hear your neighbours, worse still, them going the loo!
- Laurie (8/5): -
- Anth51ea (10/5): Great pub with restaurant and accommodation - Staff welcomed us warmly and there was a lovely log fire in the bar plus good beer! The restaurant is excellent and we had a really nice meal. It is very dog friendly as well.
The accommodation is a single storey block of three rooms to the right of the pub. The bedroom was bright and spacious with everything we needed and a good bathroom.
It is a plastic free establishment so even the bottled water was in glass bottles👍
Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. I enjoyed pancakes with bacon and maple syrup Nothing
- Ian (10/5): That last minute choice ...a winner - Lovely setting outside of the village. Loads of parking. The room was away from the pub and so cozy...not small cozy. Fabulous bed. Great bathroom, shower was amazing and powerful. The bathroom toiletries superb. Lovely pub with a fire. Great pub food. Leaving.
- Malcolm (8/5): - Nice clean bright place, & very helpful staff. We had a ground floor room, so not much of a view. But that's a fairly minor point. Everything else was excellent.
- Ruby (10/5): Perfect - Super stay, great room and lovely service couldn’t fault it. As it’s only five minutes from Southwold, it’s really close to the seaside without the seaside prices which is perfect. thank you for a lovely stay, See you again.
- Nicholas (9/5): Will certainly be booking again next time we come this way - Breakfast was cooked and served superbly Nothing realy
- John (9/5): Short pleasant stopover with good food and beverage served in comfortable, welcoming accommodation by friendly and knowl - Friendly knowledgeable staff and warm welcoming fireplace Room was comfy but fitted with security lighting that whilst subtle prevented the room being completely dark.

- Keren (9/5): Great, friendly service and exceptional value for money, particularly considering the area. - The location was ideal for a function we were attending in the area. The showers in each room varied in temperature control. Room 2 shower was epic however in 1&3 it was mentioned that they got warm but not as hot as they’d like.
- Roger (10/5): Very nice accommodation would recommend - Very good breakfast well cooked nicely presented
Comfortable very clean room
Excellent position very quiet The only thing was my dinner said grilled but it seemed poached small issue not important

Food is always great 👍🏻 Nothing to say about the room or the five bells. Everything's good. Only thing that was bad is we had a couple of days of rain.

- Linda (7/5): Dog friendly, friendly staff, great for an overnight stay - The rooms are separate to the pub but very close and each with their own front door. I had chosen it as I was travelling with 2 dogs and wanted easy access. Could park the car right outside. Room was a good size, comfy bed and all you needed for an overnight stay.
Footpath next to the pub which is handy for walking the dogs as it’s on a fast road.
Food in the pub is fine, breakfast was good. Nothing

- Craig (9/5): Great friendly staff , lovely food. already booked again - Great location and great rooms
- James (9/5): Superb - The staff were friendly and super helpful. Quality dinner and breakfast in the pub, everything fresh and well prepared. The walls in the rooms were a bit thin and you could hear other guests going to the toilet in the middle of the night, farting and flushing toilets etc, I should have bought earplugs. Saying that, the room was comfortable, clean and tidy with good bathroom and shower. I felt this was good value for money and would definitely return if in this neck of the woods again. Thank you!
- Anthony (10/5): It was excellent, light spacious and clean. - Fresh clean and well managed. The plumbing of the room could be easily heard.

- Jackie (9/5): A break in Suffolk. - The location was good. The accommodation was spacious. They were welcoming of our dog, both in the accommodation and pub/ meals. The breakfast was good quality and cooked well. The bed was comfortable. The cleaner was very good at catching a couple of very big spiders!
Parking is free and plentiful. There was a bit of a delay in getting our breakfast on a couple of mornings of our stay, which delayed us going out to holiday activities.
A small fridge in the room would have been a good addition to the facilities.
- Barnard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nigel (10/5): Love the Five Bells at Wrentham - Nice clean spacious room with a good selection of tea coffee facilities. Parking outside the room door . And an excellent freshly cooked breakfast. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be staying again and would highly recommend this place. Nothing to not like.

- Tim (10/5): Another very comfortable stay at the Five Bells! Great service, great accommodation & fab breakfast - Another very comfortable stay at the Five Bells! Great service, great accommodation and a fab breakfast!
- Clive (8/5): The Staff were very nice and most helpfull.CH - On arrival there was no heating or hot water available in our room as the boiler had broken down.
The management did supply a portable oil filled heater, but it made no impression to the room, which was quite large. they appologised the next morning informing us that they had called in a plumber. When we returned to the hotel the heating and hot water was working. CH>
- Michael (10/5): Excellent stay, comfortable clean room, friendly staff and really nice food - Lovely pub
- Timothy (7/5): Good -
- Andrew (7/5): Great value for money, lovely room, shame about the nights sleep. - The Five Bells is fantastic. Great food, and a lovely room. The only issue we found that in room number 3 the bed has a foot board. I’m 5ft 10 and the whole night my feet were squished up against it. If I turned to lay diagonal I would be all over my partners side of the bed. Add to this that there’s a green fire exit sign that lights up above the door and this shines light into the room. Apart from the sleep the rest of the stay was great!
- Samantha (7/5): A great place to stop. - Breakfast tasted great. There was a wide choice off food on offer from fresh fruit to pancakes. The staff were helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. We had our evening meal in the pub, it was a nice relaxing atmosphere were again the staff where friendly and helpful. The only thing I felt was that the menu was very restricted with not alot of choice.
- Janet (9/5): Very good and very enjoyable - Everything was very good, choice of food, service, dog friendly, pleasant environment The bed was a bit uncomfortable for me
