Guest Reviews
- Bryce (4/5): - Several items in the room needed fixed or updated. Property was not kept up. Not much in the area within walking, although bus stop was across the street.
Homeless people were always present on the property and things could get loud from time to time - heard from inside the room.
Spend a few more dollars and stay in somewhere better.
- Alan (8/5): - Nice place, insect free. Folks running it nice and professional.
- Louis (10/5): - Staff is always nice
- Alma (2/5): - Very dirty place
- Kenneth (4/5): - Staff unprofessional. Refused to honor my reservation without paying a $50 cash deposit. They claimed to Expedia that they gave me a room which is not true. I had to get another hotel.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Don’t Stay Here - room had bugs in it. plenty of stains everywhere where others have smashed bugs in the walls. bathroom smelled like a port a potty. while room was damp and smelled like mold.
- Timothy (2/5): - Staff was rude and disrespectful. The property has obvious prostitutes in every other room open drug use in the parking lot and it looks nothing like the pictures. It’s dirty disgusting and you should not stay here. I
- Dolores (2/5): - This place is Extremity danger
- DEAN (2/5): - This was nothing like what was advertised. Dirty, amenities non-functional. Roaches and worn linens. Drug deals and prostitution literally next door. Holes in the doors and damaged walls.
The cash deposit they demanded for prepaid rooms was NOT fully refunded on checkout as promised.
If Expedia is willing to accept and list these properties, I'm done with Expedia.
How can I get my unrecovered deposit refund?
How can I be refunded for the whole horrible experience?
- Kole (2/5): - Would like another room free
- Oscar (2/5): - Didn’t even bother checking in there were people outside just drinking alcohol and seemed pretty unusual and unsafe at 2 PM in the evening. Drive through the parking lot and found another hotel, same price better quality.
- James (2/5): - Broken vanity top, cracked toilet tank, furnishings banged up. Dirty carpet. Drug. Activity everywhere.
- Dietrich (10/5): - It’s a cool place cheap and affordable
- Michelle (4/5): Won’t go again - It’s a very old property and not that well maintained
- Victor (4/5): - Don’t go here
- Susana (4/5): - I got 2 rooms and one was worse then the other. The paint was all patchy the mattresses in both rooms were stained.I saw a roach in my room ,homeless ppl knocking on the doors . Office staff not welcoming.
- Francisco (2/5): - Owner is very nice man but the property is in shambles and very dirty. For the price I can't complain but you are getting what you pay for here
- Francisco (10/5): - It's very very dirty.
- Verified traveler (4/5): South Congress Ave place - Needs image improvement. Has possibilities. Water from faucet and shower had moldy smell. We did not drink the water. Unfortunate that there are many homeless in the area and few customers.
- Miguel (10/5): - The staff are such adorable people I love them all and I love how they help the customers out anyway they can
- Carissa (2/5): - When I checked in the staff was rude the whole time. This place was extremely dangerous to the point when I went out to eat, I didn’t come back and didn’t even go in the room because of how uncomfortable I felt. I wish I looked at the yelp reviews before looking on here.
- Travis (2/5): - The little clerk is very rude . He’s not helpful at all if he don’t like his job he should quit
- JESSICA (2/5): - Good location and older hotel but they didnt let me checkin ans still haven't refunded my money.
- Dustin (2/5): - There was a rag tied onto the shower. The shower was gross. The whole place. Trap house vibes.
- Md Fazlay (2/5): Horrible and waste of money - If there was a negative star, I would have given that. It’s just torture and waste of money. Cockroach in the washroom, bad smell from the room, and feels like living in an indian slum (may be because the owner is from there). You will get sick. Don’t fall for the price. No wifi, nothing. Believe me you won’t stay for free here.
- George (2/5): - Room had bloodstains on wall by sink. Stains on sheets. Bathroom door was taped together. Toilet paper holder missing. Paint peeling off ceiling in bathroom. Had to call 911 at 6:30 am for man banging on room door next to ours. Police said I was one of several callers reporting incident. Police came again after man came back and banged on door more. Terrible experience. You couldn't PAY me to stay there, it's that bad. I don't know why Expedia even advertises it. Shame on them!
- Braen (6/5): - Friendly staff but the floors were dirty, bathroom door had a hole in it. The room smelled like stale cigarette. The price was qorth the $71 to be close by
- Joseph (4/5): - I only chose this place because it was near the venue i was going to. I will not be staying here again...i would rather stay in San Antonio and drive to the venue from there than stay at this place again. I felt dirtier after showering it was so filthy.
- Angelo (2/5): - Disgusting rooms, preferably sleep under a bridge if you have to.
- Joe (10/5): - They were nice
- Robert (10/5): - The property is clean and the office staff is courteous and professional.
- tyler (10/5): - So accommodating and not EXTREMELY RUDE.
- Tovias (10/5): - Cool place
- tyler (10/5): - I love staying here every time I need a spot to have comfort and privacy.
- Robert (10/5): - The office staff is professional and courteous. The property is well maintained and clean.
- augustus (6/5): - No room service. There rest room was not clean when I checked in. The surrounding was not clean and streets people hanging in the premises
- Heather (2/5): - Room had mold all over the ceiling in the bathroom, water damage and sagging ceiling and smelled of mold, door jam was busted and held on by screws, secondary lock not working fir the same reason, torn furniture, stained mattresses, damaged walls. When asked for a room change due to mold they tried to tell us to take a single king room for me and my husband and our 5'7" 11 YEAR OLD to sleepnin together. Second room also had mold, water damage that was painted over and a secondary lock that didnt work, roaches all under the beds we bought roach spray ourselves to kill them and left it for the motel since it looks like they need it, found a rotting rotisserie chicken in the microwave left that on the porch for them.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Avoid this place. You get what you pay for but this place was nasty. Substances/stains on the walls and headboard, dusty and run down furniture. Bed was soft but mattress and pillows were very questionable. Outside of the building is all concrete and worse for wear, and you can hear everything, especially people climbing up the steps. Didn’t feel super safe as the chain lock was clearly removed from the door and at 3 am there was someone banging my door and a few doors near me.
- Greg (2/5): - We booked a stay of about a month, paying up front. We stayed for three nights. On the third night, it rained, and the ceiling in the bathroom collapsed from leaking water. When we asked for a different room, we were told there were none available, so we asked for a refund for the remaining days of our stay, we were told that there would be no refund.
- Clinton (2/5): - This is the dirtiest most disgusting hotel I've ever stayed at. Zero cleaning. Blood stains in the room on the walls. Someine's Used fake eyelashes stuck to the lamp. Dried bloody urine on the toilet seat. Used wrappers from shampoo products on the floor in the bathroom. The latch to the door broken off and hanging. The shower equipment with poorly siliconed back together ish. Drug use on the property. Broken down vehicles with flat tires and missing wheels in the parking lot. Massive stains on the mattresses. Staff yelling at each other across the parking lot. This hotel is an embarrassment to Austin. I would have taken more photos but I felt like I was photographing a crime scene.
- Robert (10/5): - The Village Motor Inn is a wonderful place to stay. The staff is friendly and professional.
- Mario (2/5): Negative stars - This place was disgustingly, stained sheets, smelled like piss, yelling staff, homeless everywhere. The door was broken like it had been kick in before. Terrible all around.
- D (2/5): - Black mold, handprints in the dust on the headboard, walls and nightstands were dirty, shower was dirty
- Charles (10/5): - Front desk very helpful
- RICARDO (4/5): - No smoke alarm. Room nextdoor was temporary low income housing..
- eric (8/5): - Ok
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Dirty, ripped bedding, walls dirty, writing and spray paint everywhere, microwave smelled, everything just felt dirty and grimy and I really try not to be picky. I know you get what you pay for, but there needs to be some minimum standards here. I wish I knew uploading photos was an option how dirty this room was.
- Robert (10/5): - Safe and quiet
- Juan Carlos (2/5): - Bathroom sink was broken, lamp was broken, tv was broken, mattress was uncomfortable, could feel springs. Room needed a whole remodeling. Wish it couldve been better. When i went to front desk to inform her about the broken stuff, she tried to tell me it was me who did it. I took pictures the same day i arrived and she was very rude.
- todd (10/5): - Great maintenance
- GABRIEL ARAUJO (2/5): - Ugly , dirty and old
- Larry (8/5): - It was convenient and near by the event we were attending.
- Julio (2/5): - Worst hotel experience of my Life. The room was dirty. I lifted the tpilet seat up and there was dookie stains allmover it. The shower had a moldy rag wrapped around the knob. I asked the staff to clean the room or switch me rooms the next morning and they refused to help me. And then they had a staff member come to my room and cuss me out. I ended up checking out 2 days early and when they gave me my checkout receipt it said i checked out 2 days after. I asked them to gove me an accurate check out time and they saod they couldnt alter it. Shen i asked the housekeeper to clean my room because it was already dirty he already knew which room I was in without me having to tell him. He was already aware that it wasnt clean,

- Charles (8/5): Room was too warm because someone left heat high. - It was quiet, with no noise around.
- Sheldon (2/5): - Do Not Book This Hotel!!! They are rude to visitors. They are racist especially the a lady who was disgusting, no manners. Their hospitality is just as run down as the old dust musky hotel they are running.
DO NOT BOOK!!!
- Antonio (2/5): - I got off work late last night and booked for that night. When i tried to check in the guy at the front was very rude and refused to check me in. I tried to explain and ask if i could rent for the night. And he was just rude. He told me to contact Expedia for the refund and then refused to answer when they tried to call the property. So i had to sleep outside and they kept my money. Im not in town tonight just as i tried to tell them and i want a refund but they refuse to answer for Expedia.
- Katherine (2/5): Stay Away!! - TV didn't work, hot water didn't work, service was awful, buggy motel should've offered complementary bug spray
- ericka (2/5): - Didn't like the owner rude and wanted extra money for my girlfriend being with me
- ericka (4/5): - People that own the hotel was ugly with us
- Sheri (8/5): - Nothing
- Miguel (2/5): - The floors are completely disgusting and the ac wasn’t working and there was chince aka bed bugs and roaches in room and the tv had no cable and there was no phone for emergency
- Stephanie (10/5): - Good
- Rene (10/5): - Good
- tyler (10/5): - The Village Motor inn felt like home when I was staying there, as crazy as it may sound it was a place where if you got to know the regular people and the individuals who call the place home it is very much a small community. I felt safe while I was there.
Do not pass judgment on the individuals that call Village motor in their home. Everyone here is very kind.
- augustus (6/5): - The sink is back of water and I complain to management but never fix
- Verified traveler (6/5): Okay for the price - I will go back if I can get same room.
- Kash (10/5): - Dermy is good people
- Karen (2/5): - The hotel looked ok from outside, but when I walked in it didn’t meet my expectations. It looked filthy, smells, and smoking smell when I requested non smoking. I immediately walked out of there and went to request cancellation. Totally disappointed.
- Kevin Wulmaro J (2/5): - Management called me homeless and I paid to stay there
- Hanna (2/5): - Disgusting room. Blood stains everywhere, smelled like urine. Air exchange blew hot stinky air into our bathroom. We didn’t want to take a shower because of how filthy it was (also used soap left in bathroom) toilet paper roll was almost empty and air conditioner was disgusting and moldy. Hair was in the sink. I have bug bites from the room. Wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy. This place should be burned to the ground
- Alejandro (2/5): - The sheets, the stairs, the carpet, the bathroom, everything was dirty. I wanted tp gp to another hotel, but it was really late, so as soon as we woke up, we went to a normal hotel. Im sorry, but im surprised how this hotel is even open.
- rene (2/5): - The housekeepers were really nice but the people in the office were very rude
- Charles (10/5): Customer Service - My stay was good.
Duri at the front desk provided great customer service.
Would recommend
- Rene (8/5): - 😡
- augustus (8/5): - They need to clean their rest room and the rooms need cleaning
- Anthony (2/5): - Ladies in front was rude no good customer service Roaches everywhere nasty
- Miguel (2/5): - .
- Edwin (10/5): - Don’t recommend! The front desk ladies are horrible when it comes to customer service!
- Magdalena (4/5): - The room was dirty.
- Tamara (2/5): - We could not stay in the room as it was just awful. Dirty bedding
Nasty I paid $180 for a room that should be condemned
- Landon (2/5): - Had roachs and the ac didn’t work as well as the mini fridge . And homeless people also can be under the stairwell, leaving feces and urine that never gets cleaned up. I can see why they don’t offer refunds at this hotel I would never go back again!
- Richard (6/5): Ok - It was ok
- Cynthia (8/5): - It was nice place to relax when I got to my room. Just needed conditioner they had two things of shampoo but no conditioner and they need to repair the TVs cuz mine wasn't working as good but other than that they did a good job
- David (4/5): - !!!!
- King-Edqux (4/5): - Would not start here unless absolutely necessary to save a buck.
- David (2/5): - Who is review for?
- Lakeeda (2/5): - Would not recommend. Smells and dirty!
- Bradley (6/5): - The hotel was exactly what we expected for the most part. The original room we had booked wasn’t ready when we got there. It hadn’t been turned over since the last guests. We were put into a different room and after that everything was fine.
- Sarai (2/5): - Not so much the property, but the hotel was horrible. There was a used dental floss stick on the table stand, a lot of mold on the shower curtain, no WiFi, no breakfast, no pool, the t.v. didn’t work and we arrived to police officers taking care of what looked like a dispute between the hotel workers. I had booked three nights but left after the first night. I was charged the full three nights and haven’t been refunded the two nights I did not stay.
- Janet (2/5): REFUSED TO FIGHT THE ROACHES - Booked 3 rooms for 2 nights for 3 workers. This hotel was TRASH! All 3 of them refused to fight the roaches for a space. Emailed and messaged hotel about getting refund for at least the 2nd night. No response. Hotel staff refused when I called. The misleading reviews and pics lead me wrong. Got no refund for 2nd night (3 rooms). They didn't even stay the first night!!! HORRIBLE!!
- Timothy (2/5): Should be demolished. - No cable TV ... No WiFi the entire 3nts I stayed there. No towels in the room when I checked in. A/C unit barely cooled room and was so loud, a 747 taking off would be quieter. Homeless and transient persons sleeping in the stairwells. DO NOT STAY HERE.
- Herebia (2/5): - ...
- Tristan (10/5): - Place was a good stay pretty quiet. Its in a great location on south congress, theres alot thats easily within walking distance good staff
- Larry (2/5): - Deplorable look and room was very gross
- tyler (10/5): - Great place with plenty of privacy and access to the city, very nice staff, accommodating, cold AC, and fair policies. I usually choose Village motor inn for an affordable place to stay in the city of Austin.
- Georgie (4/5): - I've been staying here for over two months,
Let me start by saying that the staff is excellent,.
If you are coming to Austin for whatever reason. Be prepared for NO WIFI, and NO TELEVISION CHANNELS WHAT SO EVER.
DISAPPOINTING BECAUSE ITS 2024, AND THE NICE BIG TV's THAT ARE IN THE ROOMS ARE NOTHING MORE THAN DECORATIONS.
THERE IS ACTUALLY A HOTEL IN A BIG CITY WITHOUT WIFI, or even ONE CHANNEL on the TELEVISION
M
- Christian (2/5): - The pictures on the website doesn’t even match from the actual hotel it had mold on the walls and the courtain from the restroom it was ripped , we didn’t end up staying here.
- Emily (4/5): - Roaches everywhere and they are over priced ASF
