Guest Reviews
- Anna (2/5): - This place was nothing like what’s shown online. The motel is extremely old and run-down, with dirty carpets, stained furniture, and a musty smell everywhere. The rooms felt grimy and poorly maintained — definitely not worth the price. I honestly wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable stay in Newport Beach.
- Stephanie (10/5): Cute - Great location and great views!
We would stay here again
- Matthew (6/5): - Staff was friendly. Rooms were clean.
- David (8/5): - Property was super quiet and clean
- Vaninha (10/5): - Very clean
- Ana (10/5): - The location is great, and the staff and property were clean and helpful.
- kevin (2/5): - The place is filthy, more than my comment will do justice. Stank of weed the entire stay which is not good when you have children. If you see this please comment please book somewhere else you will thank me. Cleaner left our door unlocked and ajar after "cleaning" the room - Anyone could have walked in and stolen something, totally unprofessional. Will not be back here.
- Nelly (10/5): - Very good
- Alffa (2/5): - Can’t use WiFi toilet flush is not working.everything is old.the worst motel I ever seen.
- Michelle (10/5): - The motel is dated and but it was clean, reasonably priced, close to the beach and all of the staff I encountered were very nice. I would stay again. The beds were a little too firm for my liking. It was perfect for my weekend getaway.
- Fatima (6/5): - Was ok unfortunately the WiFi wasn’t working.
- Richard (10/5): - This is a great property can't wait to return next summer! The staff is great.
- Tyeina (8/5): - Overall: acceptable for a last-minute weekend, family of four, summer trip. Affordable pricing & accommodations with a great location. Would book again despite cons. Refer others? Maybe.
Tip: bring cash, walking shoes, carry cart, get Morey’s Pier app
Property: dated 5 floor motel across the street from boardwalk. Close proximity to off-boardwalk restaurants & activities as well. Limited parking. Elevator (slow & stopped working on last day). Front desk (not 24 hrs.) staff is friendly & accommodating when reachable. Ice machine is fully accessible to public.
Room: suite, 2 bedroom, kitchen - unit 303 outdated space with much needed updates and repairs but habitable.
Cleanliness - seemed clean; after initial walkthrough and wipe down, rated poor (bath cloth found in closet, bath towel found on balcony, contact surfaces could’ve been cleaned better). There should be no signs of the previous guests.
WiFi - did not work, password was incorrect. Was unable to reach staff for assistance.
Accommodations - motel arrangements with 2 comfortable queen beds and 2 pillows per bed. (No iron, ironing board, hair dryer, toiletries, phone, safe, etc.) Ocean and pool view balcony seating. Kitchenette (mini fridge doesn’t freeze items in freezer despite being on highest temp). Full bathroom. Power outlets are not easily accessible or available near beds so be sure to bring long power/extension cords. Room attendant leaves envelope for tips so be sure to carry cash.
- Aaron (8/5): - So close to the beach. Parking is limited and tight. Decent place to stay with everything nearby
- Britney (8/5): - Customer service was excellent, rooms are a little outdated but nothing to be worried about. Prime location.
- Jackmary (2/5): - Very poor room quality rug smell like mildew . There was cracks on Ac unit window . You can see outside . Light in the bathroom was flicking .
- Beriozka (2/5): - I did this reservation in this motel because it was close to the convention center and i didn’t checked the reviews on google, this motel it was so uncomfortable, the faucet didn’t works correctly, either the toilet, the bathroom had a big stain of mold on the ceiling , curtains ripped off but the worst part it was the bad smell at night i couldn’t even sleep well, that sewer smell was terrible. Please don’t stay there. It got a good location but it needs a deep restoration.
- Tessa (10/5): - Everything was very clean and the beds are comfortable the bathroom was a little small
- Amber (2/5): - I was very disappointed in my room, the curtains going across the balcony were covered in mold. Upon entering the room there was a used gross soap bar in shower that i had to throw away myself and very gross stained tub. Sheets had yellow stains on it hard to tell with the lighting but was there. The toilet took 3 times to flush each and everytime. Room needed upgraded bad. This was my first experience at wildwood and worst place my family ever stayed. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. Also I did go to get to get a new room or refund and go somewhere else they offered new room asked to see it and that was same mold all over curtain again. So was stuck in this room. They dont offer or give refunds. Horrible motel experience.
- Darlene (2/5): Horrible! Best thing was it was on the boardwalk - If I could give it minus I would! It was full of teens who were loud the cops had to come bc it was about to be a fight, The staff Hopefully it’s not an emergency and you’re calling bc they ONLY call you back the next day 😒 the rooms are horrible the minute you walk in you instantly feel dirty it stinks like idk what the smell is but it’s just old and smell like bugs. The water PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE be careful bc it’s scolding hot the sink had yellow stain in it the flush of the toilet is weak. The carpet is nasty, The fridge is yea let’s move on! No smoke detector was in our room. The bed was hard I had to bring my own sheets thank goodness I did bc theirs was dirty. Gave my daughter a dirty towel, The best thing about that place is that’s it’s by the infamous wildwood sign and boardwalk hints as to why we stayed outside and on the balcony the whole stay. Oh the balcony above us (205) so 305 is cracked out balcony railing was loose. My daughter found the front desk lady sleep. My husband watched as the phone was ringing and she ignored it, The elevator will never have a wet caution sign so be careful.
With all that money they make you would think they would update it! Oh and you room key is a house key. Oh and I almost witnessed a father drinking while his son was drowning he finally got up to try to get him but then he started to drown, my daughter’s boyfriend had to save them both! P.S. get in that pool at your own risk….I wasn’t throwing my PH off!
- Tyler (8/5): - Great location, good parking options, plenty spacious. Not the cleanest, but hey, it’s a motel in Nee Jersey
- Marcelo (2/5): - Very old room / fridge / bathtub/ sink / very small / no telephone/
Tv : not even news channel
Very different park
Stay on sheet
Experience like 5 stars hotel
Shape of road motel !!!!
Never back …..
- Rebecca (2/5): - This property had a very run down feel to it. I’m not sure if there was another event going on when we were there but the noise from other guests shouting in the “walkway” outside the room, along with the paper thing walls, resulted in a very unpleasant experience. Since there is not 24 hour desk staff, there was no one to talk to as it was happening and since I was traveling alone with my son, I made a decision to leave around 1:00AM and book another room down the street. The location is great, and the staff who checked me in was very friendly. When I stopped back at the hotel to return my keys the next evening the desk attendant didn’t even stand up and barely looked up from her phone. She didn’t ask why I was checking out at such an odd time (early and 8PMish), just said “you can leave the keys on the counter” and went back to scrolling. I travel a fair amount for sports with my children and this is the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had and the first time I ever ate the cost of a two night stay (since it was not refundable) and paid full price for a different place to stay. Overall, very disappointed.
- Amy (4/5): Ugh, never again - Parking is very tight. Motel needs updating. Room 301 has a real plumbing issue- the shower only half worked and the water became scalding if you weren't very careful. Toilet only flushed when holding handle down, then only partly flushed. Some annoying alarm went off over and over early in the am. Internet did not work most of the time. Kitchen had no drying rack. Adding a few hooks on the walls for towels and clothes would help a lot in a place like this. (Also maybe one comfy chair. )There was also maybe 8 inches between the wall and one side of the bed. Hard for this old lady to move about.
- Kerrie (6/5): - Needs updating but was clean.
- Heather (10/5): - Very nice location
- Shane (4/5): - Rooms were very basic, Internet doesn’t work most of the time. If you’re looking for a cheaper place to stay and don’t need internet it’s okay.
- Alyssa (10/5): - First time in wildwood. Easy check in
- Steph (2/5): - This property did not look like the pictures. The door to the room I had was clearly kicked in it had plaster all over the front, the door frame was broken, the door knob didn't lock. The shower was broken. The shelf in the room was rusty. There was dirt all over the top of the comforter. I didn't stay for three of the four nights I booked I stayed with a friend. No parking. The ATM was broken. The elevator felt like it was going to break down. I would never stay here again. The staff was unpersonable. They didn't care.
- Hannah (2/5): - Within 30 minutes of checking into our room, the toilet was not working, and the sink would not fully shut off. The rooms are very outdated and there were hardly any outlets, no working phones in room, and no safe for personal belongings. The sheets had stains on them so we had used our own bedding we brought to put over the comforter to sleep on. On our second day, the whole hotel ran out of towels and when we asked for even 1 we were told “sorry it’s housekeeping/laundry’s job and they will bring them when they service our room and that was it. Front desk staff (besides one older lady) wasn’t very friendly or accommodating . Our room never had gotten cleaned during our stay by housekeeping as we had to change our trash bins and ask multiple times for towels. The pool was very dirty and unkept with- the pool loungers were unstable and very low to the ground (not accessible). The railing into the pool was loose and not sturdy to hold onto getting in/out. The elevator is very slow/hot and needs more than 1 luggage cart for the whole hotel. The water pressure was terrible in the shower and you either had to take an ice bath or a scorching hot shower- no in between as it took 20 minutes for the water to get to an “okay” temp.
One of the only good things about this place was the location to the boardwalk and festival and the ice cream/ coffee place across the street. I was very disappointed with this stay and will not be coming back. Don’t recommend this hotel to anyone!!
- janelle (8/5): Private balconies, great prices - Great prices for the location. Private balcony overlooking the beach- hard to find for this price!
- robert (10/5): - Hreat customer service clean rooms perfect view
- Amy (6/5): - Staff was nice. Just needs a renovation.
- Bethany (6/5): - Could use some TLC
No coffee maker in the room
- Silvia (4/5): - No wifi, no sofa, not that clean, and the rooms didn't even have a phone
- Chris (6/5): - The mini fridge was not working so reported to front desk . The front desk said they would replace it . They never came throughout our stay . The shower was not working at all. No water came out.
- Gabrielle (8/5): - Everything was great when we arrived, parking was easy and easy access to the beach from the hotel. The front desk ladies were friendly and kind. Upon entering our room the toilet would not flush and rust water was coming out of pipes. Carpet in room looked clean but still worried how clean in was. The view was nice from our room, small fridge worked great. The downside is that the elevator stopped working, with two kids and being pregnant that was not well especially with the older child afraid to go up the steps due to being scared of heights. The plumbing issue was fixed in a timely manner and the elevator would work on occasion. We frequent wildwood hotels often, I would stay here again for the right price due to location and if just looking for a place to sleep. Also I did originally book the hotel because it had a pool….. the pool had debris and some plastic bags/bottles floating
- Thomas (4/5): - Great view of the ocean
- Anil (4/5): - There was not enough Charging Outlets. Bathroom shower head was horrible. Front desk staff was not available most of the time.
- Sharon (10/5): - When on vacation, the front desk staff is where you would go ask for information. This person said ‘no I don’t know’ too many times. Even for the price for parking in the lot across the street from the hotel; recommended places to eat or things to do. But overall it was a great spot with an ocean view balcony.
- Harry (4/5): - The property was very dirty.
Daily maid service was nearly non existant.
Way too expensive for the this.
Does not compare to other motels in the resort area for $200 per night. We will never return and will it recommend the property.
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Love the fact I can enjoy the beach view at night and day
- Gregory (4/5): - Despite reserving a room with a kitchen we were assigned a tiny room with no kitchen and a non working toilet with someone's fecal matter floating in it. After complaining we were assigned a different room which was better, however the toilet's tank would take about 15 minutes to fill after flushing so we had to use tap water to fill it manually. The property is very outdated and it needs serious renovations. The elevator was making loud and annoying beeping sound every couple of minutes day and night. The staff couldn't do anything about it.
- Kristopher (6/5): - This property is very conveniently located across the street from the boardwalk. The property provides a great balcony view of the ocean. On the downside, some of the amenities were pretty outdated. The water in the shower did not get above a mildly warm temperature. The WiFi did not work at all. Besides those two things, staff were friendly and very helpful!
- Ashley (10/5): - I liked that the property was right across the street from the boardwalk and beach.
- Steven (8/5): - Right infront of the beach
- Sharon (4/5): - Toilet never worked
- Kayla (6/5): Close to the boardwalk! - Clean and super close to the boardwalk. Our room was small and basic… but clean… which is all we wanted. Wanted to explore the town and just rest our head at night … this being close to the convention center and on the cheap side was just what we needed!
- Hammam (8/5): - Close to the beach, can be cleaner, staff is friendly
- Lisa (4/5): - Arrived a day early so we Needed to find a room for one night until able to check into our motel we stay at every year. Came across this place that was reasonably priced especially for the location! After checking in I see why it was reasonably priced. We paid way too much for the condition of the room! The room was a two bedroom. It was dirty feeling, the curtains were hanging half off with no way to fix them, in the other room they were just white sheers that were stained yellow all over them, after touching them my hands felt so dirty I had to wash my hands! The lights from the hotel shined into the room all night, lit up the room like the lights were on all night!! The air conditioner had dirt/dust all over it like it has never been wiped down! The beds were like sleeping on springs. The comforters felt dirty and the one bed the sheets were so wrinkled I don’t think they were ever changed from the last guests! The carpet in the room, let’s just say I kept my shoes on until I crawled into bed, then slept with my socks on. So glad I had a can of Lysol disinfectant. The one tv would not work. Found empty alcohol bottles in the dresser drawers.Bathroom was clean, that was a plus! Had problems with Parking as there were only 2 spots left the one spot I could not fit my suv into and the other spot was so tight we could barely get out. The hotel seemed full over the weekend but then during the week not one car was there. The only good thing about this hotel is the location!!!
- Karine (2/5): Keep away !!!
Fuyez !! Loin !!!
- Yvette (10/5): - We stumbled on to this motel and it is a gem. The staff is the kindest most helpful group and the rooms were clean and comfortable. A great choice for wildwood!
- Nicole (4/5): - I didn’t like how they had false information on their website. I also didn’t like they never answered the front desk phone!
- kimberly (8/5): - My family and I had an uneventful stay which are the best kind of stays. The carpets are old and the decor wasn't great but it was clean and safe and convenient. The staff was also friendly.
- Jennifer (4/5): Use caution - The room was very small and big enough for one bed and one dresser with a small TV. The bathroom when you sit down on the toilet, your knees hit the tub. The only positive was the balcony that overlook the ocean. I paid more than I should’ve for this room
- Ashley (2/5): - This property is discussing!! If I could give it a -10 I would! I was horrified walking into this hotel. We paid over $1000 for this room only have it looking like a motel 6! I am beyond disappointed on the conditions of this hotel and the staff OMG! If I could upload photos I would. We walked in to see a burnt on the rug, both headrest literally hanging from the wall, liquid something coming from the walls, spider webs near the lights, a rusted mini refrigerator that looked like it was picked out the trash and many more horrified scenes in this hotel. The bathroom was another disaster, the sink and toilet were so dirty and the shower head sprayed water in every angle but the front. This place should be SHUT DOWN ASAP! It’s a heath hazard to children. The mold smell was so overpowering we had to leave a vacation we paid so much money for 2 days early. On top of it checking in and out was a nightmare as well. The staff ladies in the front area are VERY rude and just don’t care. We returned the keys to the front desk and she took the keys from my husband and didn’t even ask why we were leaving early or anything of that sort. The owner should be embarrassed and I will definitely be reporting this hotel and the staff to a higher up or even a state inspection! THIS PLACE NEEDS TO BE CLOSED ASAP! DO NOT RENT AS A FAMILY WITH CHILDREN, THIS PLACE IS NOT SAFE! The only ONE good thing I could say, the view in front of the WILDWOOD sign was amazing. VERY DISAPPOINTING otherwise!!
- Stephen (6/5): - Great location for convention center/boardwalk events, staff polite&helpful, room was clean, bedding, drapes, shower curtain need replacing. Rooms need updating. Clean and convenient for 1-2 night stay, not a resort for a lengthy stay.
- Oumar (6/5): - Rooms needs updated.
The water pressure was so weak only the tub option was available. Sheets were stained. Super noisy thankfull police do a good job and limit excessive musiccand car noise. But the door is so flimsy and cracks between door and frame
Wouldnt stay here again.
- Katie (2/5): Disappointed and inconvenient - When I got to the hotel there was no one at the desk but a woman on her phone on a couch, the woman asked if she could help me and I told her I was checking in. She continued on her phone call and said something about the hotel being booked, I informed her I had a reservation. She then informed the person she was on the phone with that she had to deal with a customer and got off the phone. I again said my name and that I had a reservation to which she replied that they were fully booked and they were putting me in another hotel and proceeded to tell me that the other hotel was nicer and that is was more expensive but they wouldn’t charge me extra, meanwhile this woman’s phone rang 4-5 times in our less than 5 min convo and she kept answering it and telling people she would call them back that she had to deal with a customer. She then proceeded to call the other hotel and tell them I was coming. So I left. But this switch of hotels was super inconvenient for my trip being as my friend who I was vacationing with was at the hotel right next door to where I was supposed to be staying. The other hotel was fine but it was not right next to the boardwalk or my friend as I had planned and everyday I had to drive 15 min and find and pay for parking.
- Yeliany (10/5): - Estuvo bien
- lisa (6/5): - They does not provide shampoo. The AC is right front of top of door and the plug was in the way and i have to move it so i can closed easy. When I check out in front of lobby and I smell something very strong inside of Lobby.
- Sandra (4/5): - The property’s location is perfect!!! The actual place is dated, the light fixtures, water faucets, zinc, tub, AC and carpet are very old; with some capital investment, this place will be a must go!!!
- Hector (6/5): - What we like about the property was the location and convenience. What we don't like was theat they have old rugs in the rooms. Bathroom can really use some updating/remodeling. And the cleaning of the bathtub and shower curtains need to be better. I personally take some Lyson cleaner and spray to clean the bathroom my self and spray the rugs. But the staff was very nice, helpful and friendly.
- Omar (4/5): - Property is in desperate need of renovations.
The walls in the room were horrible. Like if they just patched up any hole and painted right over it.
Mattress was hard and old.
Rug was old and dirty.
The toilet didn’t want to flush and was all rusty.
- Alicia (4/5): Pay for location not comfort - If you are looking for a hotel close to the beach and boardwalk that you can walk to this is it, but comfort is on the back burner. You get what you pay for. The beds were very uncomfortable, the bathroom door didn't close and lock, the exhaust fan didn't work, our day of leaving we had no water pressure and couldn't take showers. Being that it is so close to boardwalk and beach the noise level at night is LOUD. The air conditioner is in the first bedroom and has to go past the bathroom to get into the second bedroom so people in the first room are freezing and the second hot. We had to ask for more towels and wash clothes as there were not enough placed in our room for our reservation and needed to wait until laundry was finished. Parking here was a nightmare because spaces sparce and very tight. If someone parked slightly over their line it made it difficult for the rest of the cars to fit
The only thing nice was it was close to the boardwalk and beach and having the balcony facing the beach was a nice veiw for the beach and fireworks.
- Cesar (10/5): - Was great .
- Carolyn (2/5): - No hot water first room toilet didn’t work
- Michael (6/5): - Nothing special, could be cleaner but great for price.
- Black (2/5): - There’s a moldy smell in my hotel room
- Lynn (6/5): - The only big problem was the tv in my room kept freezing up when you were watching any channnel. The microwave and the refrigerator definitely need to be replaced, but they worked fine. The room was definitely clean. The staff were all very helpful and friendly.
- Matthew (6/5): - Very worn out property, location is the only reason it exits.
- Wayne (2/5): - Toilet wouldn’t flush, I used water from the bathtub to fill the tank. Water was brown.
This was after I brushed my teeth. Disgusting!
I want a refund.
- Peggy (4/5): - The room was not very clean. Curtains lining was dry rotted and flaking off. Door would not lock with the key. Very difficult to unlock. Burn holes in the bedspread. Rust stain in bathroom sink. Rusty water when we turned water on. My daughter found bugs in the tub in her room.
- JC (4/5): - The plus was the fact that our balcony we had we could see the beach, the wildwood sign the boardwalk etc. So, it was nice to sit there at night time. Now, the rooms are horrible, they are small! No closet, no phone, full size bed that it didn’t even feel like a full size. My husband and I felt so discussed In this room, they are not that clean the tub had some hair, the sink in the bedroom the valve was messed up water would still be running all day. The towels there SUCK! ( bring your own) because they shed so but so much that you have to shower again to take that lint of you, they are horrible is like drying yourself with some cheap toilet paper. I’m really not a person to write reviews but in this case, I had too. I know motels are not the greatest but this one is one of the worst and dirtiest I’ve stayed in. I have stayed in the one across from this one The Starlux as is way better and we stayed in their little cottages and it felt good to take a shower there, brush your teeth, lay in bed you would see the difference. In Newport Beach Resort the rooms are so old no it was so bad that we even bought bottles of water to brush our teeth because that’s how nasty we felt.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Liked the view and didnt like that the elevator skip 4th floor wentvto five then back to 4 they need to get rhat fixed
- Bob (4/5): - The location was good, the room is in need of an update, the carpeting is old and coming apart at the seams, the walls could use some patching in a few spots, they didn't have an ice machine
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Was a nice stay but they need to update their furniture
- Mohamed (4/5): Not good - Not good, Old, service, clean-less and Expensive
- Heather (8/5): - Clean room.
Elevator super slow!
Friendly staff.
There was a mix up with my reservation and they were very accommodating and helpful.
Only con....We got a two bedroom suite and there is no AC vent in the second room....so if the bedroom with the AC closed their door, the other room got hot.
- Disappointed (4/5): - Staff non existent. Cleaning of room non existent. Old Hotel.
- Stacy (2/5): - We stayed from Thursday to Monday. The only time we got to sleep was on Thursday. There was fighting and people screaming and yelling till 5am every night. We got a 2 bedroom suit. It was very small. We barely had room for 4 people. The toilet didn’t flush. We had to take the back off. The smoke detectors kept going off for no reason. The elevator barely worked. It wouldn’t stop on our floor. Had to go up and walk down a flight of steps. The sheets had stains on them. The only good thing Is the location and the view but it’s definitely not worth it. And not worth the money we paid.
- Sean (10/5): Very good - Very good for average people cant complain
- Jamie L (8/5): Great stay - Clean and comfortable, cannot beat the location!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - This is a great location. It is right by the boardwalk. The view from the room is beautiful.
- Shon (8/5): - The private ocean view balcony was really nice to have. Being able to sit out late at night and watch people in the boardwalk was amazing.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location and incredibly view! Rooms are not updated but they have what you need. I would definitely stay here again.
- Fdr (8/5): - The location and our room views were exactly how I imagined it! The fully equipped kitchen was a nice surprise. I especially liked that our room had two separate rooms with the queen sized beds. It was nice to have a separate area from the kids
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location. And it has an elevator. We also had an ocean view which was a nice bonus.
- Amy (10/5): - Great location, staff was very nice. Rooms were clean. We could see fireworks from our balcony. Will be going back!
