It is a beautiful complex with very comfortable rooms. There were two highlights: on the one hand, the restaurant with its incredibly good food and very friendly service—a culinary delight that must be experienced. And last but not least, the adorable dogs Lola and Ari, who gave us a warm welcome every day and whom we already miss very much. We will definitely come back sometime. Thank you very much.

- BCN traveler (10/5): Gorgeous property, great for romantic getaway. - The staff were so accommodating. We had a flight delay and rushed to the property so we could eat on there terrace. The servers were also kind, professional and very accommodating. Engaged in small talk. You had the sense they enjoyed their jobs. The room was spacious and very quiet, with a beautiful overlooking vineyards. We hiked around the area and then took a refreshing dip in the pool. It was the perfect weekend getaway. Parking area was spacious and easy to get to the room from.

Hotel jest bardzo czysty, a jego położenie w pięknej okolicy sprawia, że można naprawdę odpocząć. Na szczególne wyróżnienie zasługuje obsługa – przemiła, pomocna, zawsze uśmiechnięta i chętna do pomocy. Z niczym nie było problemu, wszystko dało się załatwić szybko i z życzliwością. Czuć było, że zależy im na tym, żeby goście czuli się wyjątkowo. Zdecydowanie polecam każdemu, kto szuka miejsca z dobrą atmosferą i wysokim standardem obsługi!

- Peter (10/5): We love Il Verreno! - There are so many well-deserved positive things to say about Il Verreno that this is not a short review. The setting is peaceful and magical, high above the Ambra Valley with views across orchards, olive groves and vineyards to wooded hills - best seen from the swimming pool! The historic buildings have been restored with great care and furnished with striking taste. The extensive public seating areas and library show the comfort of guests is more important than profit. The rooms are spacious and well-equipped. The bed was unimaginably comfortable. There was a decent sized refrigerator too. The choice and quality of food at breakfast was better than I can remember anywhere. The food in the restaurant is full of imaginative surprises and has a deserved high reputation. The wine list offers many great options for all lovers of Tuscan wines. The staff are unfailingly professional, polite, efficient and friendly. We liked them! Ambra village is a short distance away. Small, charming and the home of the Notti Ambra on summer Tuesday evenings - not to be missed. Bucine train station is not far with trains to Arezzo and Florence. Il Verreno is not the cheapest nor the most expensive place to stay in Tuscany. We felt it was fairly priced for the high standards it offers. The sincerest compliment we can give is that we intend to come back for a longer stay.

Sitting on the restaurant patio and looking at the rolling hills is an excellent way to spend an evening. Breakfast was delicious, varied, and plentiful. The resort is located at the end of a one lane road, so one must stay alert when driving in and out!

- 646warrenr (10/5): Il Verreno is a fabulous hotel. And the restaurant is sensational. - We’ve just returned from a week with our children (aged 20 & 18). This fabulous boutique hotel sits on a hilltop away from the traffic with breathtaking views across valleys to the distant mountains. We stayed in a family suite which was effectively two separate studios. The rooms are decorated Italianesque to showroom standard and are very comfortable. We were blown away by the restaurant and learned that Marialuisa Lovari is an award winning chef, and so dinner on the gorgeous terrace each night felt like Michelin star dining, even for the basic pasta dishes that my son preferred. The pool has great views and is bigger than it looks on the website with deep beach beds next to the pool and a row of sun beds on the upper tier, and not forgetting the pool bar open all day. The staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. A truly wonderful find!

We have been warmly welcome upon check-in by a very friendly lady called Asia and upgraded to a suite room. We travel a lot and experimented all types of rooms or suite and this suite was just perfect. The bed was so comfortable, the decoration was on point, the bathroom very well thought with a Jet/bidet for the toilet ! great add-on especially after we lived in South East Asia for more than 15 years. We got in room dining and the food was very good too. The pool was immaculate and so quiete. The breakfast was set with a very generous buffet with all sorts of savory or sweets items to choose from. Eggs are made based on your likings. We had an amazing sleep and the room was pitch black which was important for us. The staff was great, we chat with a few and all were very friendly Even tho I am a picky guest and myself in the hospitality business, nothing has disappointed us during our stay. We regretted having booked our next hotel already a while ago otherwise we would have extended our stay without hesitations.

- Abbie (10/5): - We could not be happier with our stay at Il Verreno. We arrived late on our first night and they were able to hold our table in the restaurant for dinner. My husband had Coeliac disease and not once did we have to tell the staff, they had a note in file and every single one of them remembered for the whole trip. They made changes to the menu for him, ensuring he had gluten free bread and pasta etc. the service was excellent throughout the hotel, the hotel was clean and the rooms are beautiful. I would recommend this to anyone looking to stay in the Tuscan area.

We spent 6 wonderful nights there and did not want to leave . Our room was so spacious , excellent quality furniture and fittings , very comfortable beds and a good bathroom and shower. The grounds are beautiful, the outdoor pool was heavenly and cocktails brought to the pool for us . The food and the staff at the restaurant are simply the best , after our first night we booked every night in the restaurant unbelievable quality and real skill with the food , the team are spoke to us making sure we were having the best time and we really did . Thank you Li Verreno for the best stay and we are looking at dates to return

Small town nearby if you need anything. - We had to use a babysitting service which ended up costing circa 30 euros an hour. Yes it was external to the hotel but they could have done a better job at negotiating a reasonable rate. - Gym could have been a bit better.
- Nadir (10/5): Great main base for Tuscany exploration. I recommend this hotel. - Exceptional property, on a small hill top. Spacious room. The restaurant is closer to fine dining than traditional, with excellent courses and an extensive wine list. Staff is very well prepared and friendly. We had a big delay with our flight and arrived at 01:00 in the night, the Chef was waiting for us and was very helpful. Amazing wildlife around. Wild boards, rabbits, foxes. Drive carefully. Not cheap, not overly expensive, hits the right balance. The location is 30 30-minute drive from Siena, and it is great for exploring all major Tuscan regions. 1 hour drive to Montepulcianio, San Giminiano, Chianti regions. Travelling with a car is a must. There are few things to see in the proximity, except for the small village of Ambra (not a tourist destination).

I'd highly recommend staying here if you want a peaceful retreat and also to have a car so that you can also visit the neigbouring towns (we took advantage of day trips to Sienna and Florence). The beds were very comfortable, and the views from the windows were spectacular. The included breakfast each morning was terrific and fresh, and you could choose eggs to order. We ate in the dining room every night, and the food choices were interesting and delicious. Overall, we found for the type of accommodation and the quality of food, the cost of our stay was very reasonable compared to other places in the region, From this location, we could drive to everything we wanted to see in Tuscany. We stayed four days, using the resort as our home base.

They went out of their way to accomodate for my dietary requirements, making a breakfast in advance. Restaurant for evening meal was fantastic. The food was amazing would highly recommend eating there. To our room specifically on a higher floor, lots of stairs to climb without a lift.

Hotel grounds and surrounding views are amazing! Rich and wonderful breakfast buffet and the beautiful veranda make it a wonderful experience. Water in the shower tends to run a little cold every few seconds. There's some noise from running water in adjacent rooms.

If you're looking to unplug yourself from the day-to-day madness you live in, this is the perfect place for you! The staff is super nice, they always have the need to give you whatever you need. I really loved the awareness for allergies even though neither me nor my family have one. The food was great, and again, everything was great. I can't wait to return. The only thing that could make this fantastic relaxation even better was a spa, but nevertheless it was such a great place to be.

Had own kitchen area. 2 huge bedrooms with en suite's. The pool area was compact but the views! The restaurant was incredibly. The quality and presentation 10/10. Ricardo and his team looked after us both nights we were there and they were excellent. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Go!

Personnel is well trained, kind and professional. Special kudos to young gentleman who was our waiter for both dinners in the restaurant, for his recommendations for food and wine + effortless communication and service. The restaurant is Michelin-star level. Breakfast buffet is beautiful, well stocked and tasty. Nothing really!
