david (8/5): - Very clean!!!! My first requirement. This was a last minute decision. It was a very simple room, the only amenity was a bar of soap. But we knew that going in so we were ok with it. Right on the beach. They did have beach chairs and umbrellas available as well as kids toys and boogie boards. Anna, the receptionist, was so very nice. She set the tone for our visit.

Benjamin (10/5): - The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The property itself is right on the beach, which itself is beautiful and has a remarkable shoreline. In addition, the inn is near some great restaurants on the beach and in nearby towns. I have been going here for years and often see the same people. It is an inn that you will want to book summer after summer.

virginia (8/5): Quick get away - Just to be near the beach booked this last room available day of so it worked out, tho we didnt get there till 8pm and so asked to keep car there in order to stay on the beach since we didnt get to use the beach upon checkin, in front but would have to pay addition $40 and not even have a bathroom was unacceptable to me as other hotels have allowed it last summer for free.also no nightstand on 1 side very strange setup
Caitlyn (6/5): - We loved that the hotel is right on the beach. It was amazing to hear the waves at night and be able to walk right out onto the beach whenever we wanted to. The beach is amazing, and there are no rocks! However, we found the shower to be extremely small, and we had some hair on our sheets when we first checked in. The staff was happy to come change them when we called and requested a sheet change. The WiFi also didn’t work unless you were essentially standing in the office. There also wasn’t someone in the office at night when we needed someone to address a group of people speaking loudly on the balcony around midnight.
Gabriel (10/5): - The hotel is on the beach. To sleep hearing the waves was a treat. The rooms are very clean but some might need an update soon, furniture wise. Anna is amazing and gave us a tour at arrival and keeps the place running very nicely and smoothly. She is so friendly, polite, professional and efficient. The hotel has a big balcony with tables in front of the rooms. I loved that we had our private beach and parking. You can check out and pay a fee to leave the car there till night time, upon availability. The “pizza bus” Rhode Island Co across the street has a delicious pizza and quesadillas. There is also a restaurant, an ice cream place and a gift store across the street. It was a very pleasant stay! The beach is clean, the moon was full and was such a nice surprise.

Heidi (4/5): - This hotel is right on the beach which is very nice and the staff was super nice but the reviews about the bedding should be paid attention to… our sheets seemed like they had been washed but there were stains on them, stains all over the box frame. I often stay at hotels and sleep well, I don’t know how they found bedding of such a low quality that it was actually uncomfortable.

Only negative was no outside restrooms available(always locked) so every time we needed to use restrooms we had to go up 3 flights of stairs and track sand in our room multiple times a day

The nearby hotel also has a beach bar which is a great perk for those looking to have a cocktail on the beach. The hotel was clean, pretty basic, there were no toiletries in the bathroom but we brought our own. The AC worked well which was nice as it was hot and humid during our stay. Very convenient location regarding restaurants etc. It was not yet peak tourist season so it was quiet and calm, but could imagine that there will be plenty of buzz later in the summer. I would stay again but still probably off season.

Verified traveler (10/5): Great spot and great price - The property staff were so friendly! We booked this room to extend our stay in the area. Parking is guaranteed! The room had an odd smell, but was otherwise very clean and spacious. There is a large wrap around, outdoor patio. Just a few steps to the beach!

Lights on all outside and even with blinds down, couldn't sleep cause kept thinking it was after sunrise. Bed, pillows extremely uncomfortable. $280 a night. Yikes!!

Verified traveler (2/5): So Much Smoke! - Apart from the friendly staff, this is by far one of the worst hotel stays I’ve had in a long time. The beach chairs were rusty and broken (I can understand some rust being by the water, but broken?!) As for the private beach area, it was far more crowded than other nearby sections of the beach. Also, despite being ‘non-smoking’, other guests were smoking directly outside our room on the shared balcony so we smelled smoke all night long. We also heard other guests all night long; snoring, opening doors, flushing toilets, etc. If you’re sensitive to smoke, and you’re looking for a comfortable, quiet night’s sleep, you might be better off staying somewhere else.

Claire (6/5): - I did not like that there was no reliable WiFi available. Sometimes you could get most and most times you could not. That was very frustrating. It was very quiet and enjoyable up until the last night. someone checked into the room above me and there was lots of stomping around in the room late into the night and early in the morning. I did not enjoy that. I don't think I will return. It was very expensive. I spent $1000 for 4 nights and I do not think it was worth that much money. I would not describe parking as easy--I did have a parking spot but it was really hard to get in and out of.

Also mirror over sink is small and designed for people 5 feet tall.

The very pleasant woman at the front desk also offered to help us carry our luggage to the 3rd floor where our room was. Everything smelled and looked sparkling clean. I only wish we had realized ahead of time that our room was not on seaside. We still had some great views and loved the spot regardless. The only constructive criticism I could offer would be that they did not have travel sized shampoos and conditioners and other small toiletries available for guests to either be given or for purchase.

Kelly (10/5): Relaxing in RI - The hotel was very accommodating to our needs during our stay. This was our first visit to Westerly and the Sandcastle Inn. The room, balcony, patio furniture were all extremely clean. The property was very well maintained and you can tell that this family run business takes much pride in their property. The location right on the beach and private beach access was ideal for us, as we do not love being crowded or amongst loud crowds while relaxing. We were thoroughly pleased with our stay and will definitely be back.

Elijah (4/5): - We had some trouble with the "longterm stay" homeless man who stays in Room 1 (below us), who is apparently "employed" at the hotel. The man pounded on our door at 6:30pm for "being too noisy" (we have a 4 year old) and despite our friendly assertion that it wouldn't happen again, he was unreasonably aggressive and threatened us that he "didn't want to have to come back up here again" as he walked away. The hotel is honestly in ruins. No shampoo provided, and homeless (drunk?) people as staff who will threaten you for using your room as intended, during daylight hours. Missing outlet covers, rotten water-damaged cabinets, nonfunctioning bath tub. Take your money elsewhere, or you'll regret it (we certainly did).

Very happy with location of hotel, close to multiple breakfast and coffee options and near enough to restaurants and other beaches. Chose this hotel for location and good reviews- traded off for no breakfast included though… but I’m glad i did! VERY clean which is really important, and can’t beat the view and sleeping listening to the ocean. Balcony has assigned tables & chairs for each room/guests. Every night each group has their own things going bc of course you want to be looking at the ocean but was sort of neat to be on the balcony separately but kinda together too. Room is a little tight but good closet space for suitcases, and it’s manageable when you aren’t spending much time in the room besides sleeping. Mini fridge freezer actually freezes things! Don’t know that I’ve ever encountered that in other hotels (lol.) bed wasn’t the most comfortable thing in the world, but again, clean! bathroom is good size with sink outside of, but shower is a bit small. Worked out for me / average size, a little heavy. Much larger than me and you might have difficulty. What it lacks in size it makes up for in water pressure! Good shower 👍we will definitely be back
