• Julie (9/5): - The motel is very clean and the staff are pleasant. The rooms have been renovated. I do think the mattress could be upgraded. We had a pleasant stay and would book again. Breakfast. A toaster with English muffins or bagels would be better than packaged sweets.

Simple, comfortable, and a great place if you’re just looking to relax. I plan on stay here again the next time im in the area Drive way is alittle small I wouldn't bring anything bigger then a small u haul box truck.

Heater very noisy. room was very smelly musty. There was a dehumidifier in the room but first impression was very musty smell

• Steve (10/5): A really nice, simple, clean place to sleep before getting back on the road. - The owners are extremely nice and the rooms are very clean with well thought out amenities. It’s the kind of road side motel that was common before the invasion of chain lodgings. It felt good to be patronizing an owner operated business and contributing to the local economy, especially since the quality is higher than the corporate competition. I guess the pillows could have been softer but then someone else would complain about that, so whatever!
• Cynthia (10/5): Clean, cute and friendly. - We really enjoyed the fresh fruit and snacks. It was a nice touch. Our room was clean and nicely decorated. It was the absolute best combination of home and upscale hotel. The road noise was sometimes loud, but what else can you expect when it's a motel on a main artery? Overall, it was not intolerable, and once you're asleep it doesn't matter anyway.

• Greta (10/5): - Had a very short stay but bed was really comfortable and the place felt clean. I had wished there was a second door lock option other than just the dead bolt for security, especially if I had been traveling alone.
• KIMBERLY (10/5): Very comfortable and extremely clean with updated interior. - We loved this quaint little gem. It was spotless and had personal touches of fresh fruit, snacks and waters. The mattresses and pillows were very comfortable. They were very attentive to us and were very hands on. I had booked a few rooms for a graduation and was pleasantly surprised. They had little chairs and table outside of each room and we were able to take our chairs and gather together. Will definite stay again if I find myself back in the area.

• Jan (10/5): - My daughter & I wanted to visit Skaneateles. Nightshade was just a 10-15 minute drive. Looks like 1950s motel from the road, but very cute, clean & well kept. Our room was as nice or even nicer than some upscale, expensive places I’ve stayed. Very clean, sleek & stylish. The bathroom was gorgeous! Looked recently remodeled. There was bottled water & bowls of snacks & fresh fruit in our room, which I thought was a very nice touch. Coffee, tea, fruit & pastries were available each morning in the office. The owner, Sing, was very friendly & accomodating. I will definitely stay here again when visiting the area.

The staff was accommodating and friendly, the room was exceptionally clean and comfortable and had a very “homey” feel to it. The bathroom was the same way. Will definitely recommend staying here to friends and family when visiting, and I will be staying again myself!

Our flight into syracuse had been delayed and we were making stops along the way to dropping my son off at college. 3 other hotels were able to make the change for me with no issues. The owners at nightshade were either unwilling or unable to make the adjustment. Also, the internet was spotty during the afternoon and would not work for my laptop or the television both of the nights we stayed here. The room was fine, the owners were friendly but for our purposes it wasn’t great. We did sleep well though so that’s something.

I do not understand how it was rated so highly. There were zero amenities. It’s a roadside motel that was listed on your site as a hotel

It smelled funny. It seemed clean enough, but nothing like the reviews or pictures. Garbage was never removed, no towel replacement (very worn, small towels).

Mattress was not comfortable for me. Not sure if they haven't been updated along with the remodeling that seemed to have gone on. Road noise is always an issue but if you have the HVAC system running, it helps with the road noise. Mattress. My shower, the shower head is too short for me, hot/cold was difficult to get to a comfortable tempurature. Room remodel was nice but the exterior needs a lot of work. Looks like a run down motel for sure. Entrance needs better lighting. With the traffic on Rt5, hitting the brakes when you realize the entrance is right there was scary.

Owners are so welcoming and have it loaded with extras upon entering room with snacks and waters. Everything is spotless. In the morning they have a coffee bar with muffins and oatmeal. • Kris (3/5): Yuck! Don’t stay unless you have to. - Not much of anything When checking in you had to ring a doorbell in the office area/breakfast area. The lady came out of a disgusting door and took my credit card/ID and closed the door. Very weird! Then she came out with an actual key for our room. The room was okay, but could hear every car driving down the road and every neighbor. Breakfast consisted of store bought mini muffins and coffee.
