- Michele (6/5): - The hotel has modern, clean, and relatively spacious rooms for Japan, and the location is very central with easy access to public transport and shops. However, it doesn’t fully feel like a 4-star property. Storage space is minimal — you can’t even slide a suitcase under the bed, which makes organizing the room tricky. Laundry facilities are few, and staff, while polite, seemed hesitant with English communication. The hotel seems to want to follow a “green” policy, but it felt counterproductive: all toiletries were removed daily, even if unused or barely used. One day I ended up with no shampoo, conditioner, or shower gel in the room, and when I asked reception for a replacement set to be delivered, I was told I had to come down myself. Breakfast is disappointing for a 4-star hotel — there’s only plain coffee, no espresso or cappuccino, and limited variety overall. I’ve stayed in 3-star hotels in Japan with better breakfast options. Overall, good for location and clean, modern rooms, but service and amenity gaps make it feel closer to a mid-range 3-star hotel than a true 4-star.

- Yee Ting (10/5): Love the hotel but not the location... - I read great reviews about this hotel and it really matches my expectations. The room is good size, I was able to open my large luggage to pack. They provide daily housekeeping, filtered water and there is a public bath where you can relax your muscle at the end of the day. I love that you can check the availability of the washing machines and public bath on the tv. The biggest con is the kettle, the outside is made of plastic and when boiling water it kept making weird sound, seems cheaply made. Even though the hotel is great, I may not stay here again because of its locations. It is centrally located, but after travelling a week in Osaka and walking 20k steps a day, I really want to walk as little as possible. I had to take the subway for just one or two stops everyday, which is a waste of time. I may rather stay somewhere closer to Kyoto station or Shijo-dori next time.

- Dustin (6/5): Good location, but ultimately lacking - This is a good hotel, but probably not a great hotel. It was the only hotel we stayed at in Japan that did not offer complimentary water and coffee in our room. The front desk informed us that was because we booked a cheaper rate, but that was never an issue anywhere else we stayed. I would expect these services to be available for all rates, but this hotel was the exception, and I think other travellers should be aware of this. Otherwise the rooms are clean and well appointed although the hotel does not offer much in the way of personal care products like moisturizers and face cleaners, so that's also a bit of a disappointment. The front desk staff did their best, but they appeared a bit shy and standoffish compared with other hotels we stayed at in larger cities. Overall we were a bit disappointed in this hotel and we understand that hotels in Japan make no guarantees about the services or standards like they might in Europe or North America
- Karman (10/5): - My family and I stayed at The Keio Prelia Hotel Kyoto for 4 nights in late June. The check-in was fine. We stayed at a standard room with two twin beds. The room size is big and we get to use their public bath every night. It was amazing. The property looks modern and well-maintained. The location is nice and quiet. 5 mins walk to the Karasuma Gojo train station. There are cafes, restaurants and konbini near the hotel, which is very convenient. The laundry machines are very busy in this hotel, also it's hard to dry the clothes in 1 round. You need coins for the machines and check the status of the availability on your room TV. Their public bath lets guests with tattoos use the facility if they are willing to purchase the body stickers to cover up their tattoos. We cannot use the luggage delivery service recommended by the hotel because they do not deliver to Nagoya. We found a Yamato delivery service location 5 minutes' walk away from the hotel. We did the reservation online and left the baggage at the location at 11 am on the checkout day. Our baggage arrived on the same day at our Nagoya hotel. Stress free! I highly recommend this hotel to everyone who will travel to Kyoto!

They helped us keep our luggage before check-in time, and also helped us retrieve our keys when we accidentally locked ourselves out of our room. There are washing machines in the building on multiple different floors, and loved that we could check the availability of each washer through the TV inside our room. We felt comfortable every day of our stay and would definitely go back!

- Sergio (10/5): - I found this hotel a perfect spot if you are in Kyoto for truism and sightseeing. Close to Kyoto station and metro line and bus line. A few good dining alternatives. Overall I recommend end this hotel for a few days stay.
- Elton (10/5): - Nice and clean property. We had two rooms, large one for me and my wife and another with two double beds for my two teenage sons. I like how there were water bottles, green tea, pajamas and kettle for us to use, and a filtered water refill station on each floor. On both nights that we stayed, the reception desk helped us reserve a table at popular restaurants. Location was good as there were many convenience stores nearby and train stations.

- Connor (10/5): Amazing Kyoto stay - We were blown away by this hotel. The staff were friendly and professional. The rooms, lobby and all other areas are very well furnished and nice places to be. Everything was immaculate. And our rooms were kept well stocked with toiletries and other niceties for our stay. It is well located in Kyoto, not far from the main shopping street. It’s also close to the subway, for easy access to the train station and around the city. Plenty of restaurants nearby, with even a map of local recommendations. This was our first time in Kyoto, and I would choose this hotel again if I return.

- Merika (10/5): - - Was 20 min walk from kyoto station - Could walk to lots of places which was nice - Room was a good size, pretty comfy beds. - Can’t use onsen if you have tattoos which I was pretty sad about. I know how most onsens are with tattoos in Japan but I thought a hotel might be more open since it’s for travellers. I didn’t let this affect my rating, since it’s common, but I wanted to point it out to others just in case they were wondering. - Had my favourite pjs of all the hotels we stayed in. - Tote bag was a nice touch
- Graeme (10/5): Always amazing - I've stayed here 3 times now and every time it has been immaculate and the staff are incredibly helpful. The hotels in a great location with lots in walking distance. Highly recommend.

- Walter (10/5): - Great, clean and updated onsen. My wife enjoyed the fact there were separately dedicated onsens for men and women. The rooms were modern and more spacious than a lot of hotel rooms that we’ve stayed at in Japan. Good value overall.

- Minwoo (10/5): Recommendable hotel - Room size was small and the view was a 'wall' view, but beside these, the room and amenities in general were gratifying. Service was kind and generous too.

- Peter (6/5): - The transport was limited, the room was small, bed was hard, i fell ill and requested an extra hour or so after normal check out time to recover however this request was denied. Overall it was an ok experience but we will not be returning.

- Hon Ming (10/5): - The hotel is very nice with room size a bit bigger than ordinary hotel in Japan. The hot bath and breakfast are good too. However I found the room with many hair liked stuff at the r carpet which is a bit annoying.
- MASAKI (2/5): Only one star - 写真でバスタブがあったのでこのホテル(部屋プラン)を選択しましたが、実際の部屋にはバスタブがなかった。広告の違反ですよ。 チェックアウトの日でもないのに、朝10:30にドアチャイムの音で起こされた。Do not disturb にしていなかったとはいえ、1回目で反応しないのに対して、4回もドアベルを鳴らされた。寝てるかもしれないという想像力を働かせるよりも先に、自分の仕事を優先したい従業員がいるということ。

- Barton (10/5): Great location, pleasant room - Very convenient for day trips and restaurants. We visited several excellent bakeries for breakfast/brunch. The room was the best layout and had the most comfortable bed of any hotel on our several-city trip, but the temperature was not as we'd have preferred because the thermostat is centrally controlled and the window could not be opened.
